CDF’2008: Wracktauchen an der Superior Producer

Wrack der Superior Producer auf Curaçao

Curacaos größtes Schiffswrack liegt in 30 Metern Tiefe, ist circa 50 Meter lang und der Küste so nahe, dass man es vom Ufer aus betauchen kann. Es ist quasi direkt vor der Hafeneinfahrt gesunken und heute einer der coolsten Tauchplätze auf Curacao. Wir hatten zwei schöne Tauchgänge dort – hier weiterlesen für den Bericht und Bilder vom Wrack

Fröhliches Sinken!
Die Superior Producer ist wohl eines der wenigen Schiffe über deren Untergang sich die Menschen gefreut haben. Denn als das überladene, von Venezuela kommende Schiff in einem Unwetter vor der Insel sank, ging es mitsamt seiner ganzen Ladung unter. Diese wurde dann in den folgenden Tagen an Land gespült – Jeans, T-Shirts und auch Whiskey – kein Wunder, das alle froh waren.

Heute ist die Superor Producer einer der interessantesten Tauchplätze Curacaos … weil sie relativ tief liegt, weil sie schön groß ist und weil sie viele Löcher zum Reintauchen bietet. Aber auch viele schöne Foto-Motive. Zudem gibt es viele Kaiserfische, gelegentlich Tarpone und im Flachwasser begrüßt eine große Schule Sepien die Taucher bei der Dekompression. Das einzige Problem: Der Einstieg kann etwas schwierig werden, wenn die Wellen auf die felsige Küste brechen. Und noch was: Wer hier taucht, sollte die Fenster am Mietwagen offen und keine Wertsachen im Auto lassen – wir haben viel zerbrochenes Fensterglas gesehen.
