i got this camera a couple weeks ago and have been toying with all the features on it. its got a lot of good stuff and im very happy with it. the main reason why i bought this camera over the PS SD630 was the time lapse video [cause im a big fan of time lapse] and the face detection. i could care less about megapixels. i dont print my pictures anyway, i have to resize them to put em on the web. the time lapse works great i did get some good cloud time lapse. shoot somethin and show it to your friends, theyll think your amazing. the face detection works rather well too. sometimes it gives out on me right when i try to focus, but the picture is still in focus. and it has a feature that right after you take a picture, it blows up certain parts of the pic so you can tell if its focused right. this is wonderful because i always check mine when lighting conditions arent too great, for the camera shake. i used the stitch assistant once also and it worked nicely. the software that comes with the cam puts it all together for you and blends it in well. the camera turns on fast also so say you see some weirdo on the corner, you could prob pull out the cam and get him fast.
CONS:
some bad times ive had with the camera are red eye, even though its turned on i still get red eye A LOT. but, good news is they have a red-eye tool built in to the camera and you can remove it after. another thing is when the 'battery is dying' image comes on the screen youll only get another 2 minutes tops with the cam before it shuts off. say you didnt use the cam for a few days and cant remember if its charged or not and it suddenly dies. bummer. im not one to charge my battery every night cause its bad for the battery if you dont drain it. ive never used a canon with image stabilization, but that would be nice to have. i dont think youll need it unless your shooting dark times anyway. ive also heard some others complain about the only 3x zoom, which would be nice to have more, but this is a small camera. where would they put more zoom on it?
LAST,
i got a sandisk 2gb ultra ll card for this and it holds 500+ photos, i would suggest one of those. [...]

i think its just what i needed. get it? |
Just a joy to useI really don't have too much to add to the other reviewers, except that I really have fun using this camera. I've had various digital cameras for years ( mostly Canon A series ) but none have come even close to the 3" screen. You can really see your composition. Plus the camera is small and fast... so I keep it in my shirt pocket and pull it out to get a shot off quickly. I do find the screen gets smudged easily, but I just clean it more often... I don't really mind the extra work cleaning, I imagine it would like like washing your Ferrari every Sunday.

Great small cameraThis is a really nice compact camera from Canon. The picture quality is excellent. I have tried some night/day shots and the pictures are great. The zoom is the pretty much non existant at 3x however that depends on what you use the camera for. The build quality is excellent and I really love the 3" display. I find the ipod like controls very convenient too though it takes some practice to get used to it. The camera is very compact but I never had problems to get a good grip and a steady hand. The images have excellent true color and are indeed sharp. I would definetely recommend an accessory kit for this camera which includes a nice small leather case and an extra original Canon battery and its available on Amazon. The accessory kit turns out to be cheaper than buying the individual components and its contains original Canon parts especially the extra battery. Also get a SD card with large enough memory. What comes with the camera (32MB) is really a waste. Still don't understand why these camera manufactures throw in such a small memory card. But overall a great easy to use and a smart looking camera that produces wonderful results.

Outstanding images.... isn't that what we all want?? Here you go!I just received the SD750 for my birthday (thanks Mom & Dad!). I've had it for several days and have taken over 3 hundred pictures and tons of video. It now replaces my old Canon S400, which was a replacement for my antique Canon S110. I've remained true to Canon because I can see the amount of work they have put into making each new generation of cameras "that much better." First, the colors are so much crisper on the SD750 than in prior models, although some tweeking may be needed, you can always find a setting to capture the color you are after. Second, the video quality is outstanding (at the highest setting, that is), and Canon finally took off the 3 minute cap to video recording to allow for longer videos. Also, at the highest setting only, you can zoom in and out while recording video. I love the 3 inch display that incorporates a shifting orientation so the picture is always upright. I do wish that the camera came with a more powerful optical zoom... but I imagine I'll get that with the next generation. And in the end, I have to emphasize, that this camera takes OUSTANDING pictures. That's what a camera should do, after all. Now for a quick rundown of improvements from previous models (for you Canon loyalists):
- Much improved color - Faster picture taking and faster everything - Extended video capacity (to however much memory ya got) - Large LCD to appease the instant gratification generation - Overall improved picture quality (clarity, color saturation) A few small camera quirks outside of picture quality... the jog dial in back (trying to emulate iPod) is not the smartest addition and the "play" button is a little hard to hit at times. Overall, I definitely without hesitation recommend this camera. |
Beautiful picture producerI previously owned a SD500, and have been looking for better features such as larger screen, wider zoon, higer ISO speed, etc. And found SD750, I own it now. Wow, it is very nice design of the body, slimmer than SD500. Huge 3" LCD screen, color display on screen is near original(Not just my feel, also few other friends said so). Use the dial technology similiar to the iPod's dial to switch the shoot modes, but you may take some time to get used to it. 3x optical 35-105mm zoom is better than SD500, but I wish it can go wider to 28mm like SD800 IS. SD750 has DIGIC III processor. Can use SDHC card but I hear it may cause bottleneck, so I continue using the 2GB highspeed to hold over 600 pics in highest setting. Movie shooting is great even inside the restaurant at night time. It can also record your voice to each picture. Battary life is not as good as SD500. But it still takes about 150 pictures in a full charge. Recommend to have a backup when you go traveling. No complaint for the 3" LCD. Oh, one good feature in this camera is it has an easy button to review the pictures, press the shutter to return to shooting mode. This is way better than SD500. It's one of the best so far. Highly recommend if you are looking for a compact, easy-use camera that take quality pictures. Good luck.
Added: This is just on my own preference, I have the silver version. I like this version better than the black version, unless Canon makes the whole camera body black. Another feature I use on this camera is: I can set the folder to be created on daily base, instead of seeing the picture's property for the picture day, it groups all pictures took at the same day to one folder. |
An evolution of the IxusThe SD750 replaces my old (and rather dead) original Digital Ixus and improves on it in almost every respect: it's smaller, the picture quality is better, it's slightly faster.
But it has two things I don't like: 1. The change from manual mode to auto mode is too complex (on the old model it was a switch, now it's a menu option). 2. Still no RAW support. |
Canon QualityBought this to replace a Canon SD400 which I thought was a great camera. The extra pixels with the SD750 make this a great product for the money! I think this camera is even more sensitive to shaking/motion when zoomed-in than the SD400, but it wouldn't stop me from buying this camera. I plan to buy a small monopod to help with those instances, or just steady myself against something. Love the size and the large viewing screen (which was my deciding factor to buy the SD750). Buy one and enjoy!

Solid Construction, Digic III Face Detection is amazingThis is a great update to the SD630.
-7MP instead of 6MP -Digic III instead of Digic II (with face detection that's NOT a gimmick) -230,000 Pixels instead of 170,000 on the 3" screen, looks sharp -Unbelievable startup time -Image quality as expected from the PowerShot line Overall a good camera and graduation gift for my little sis. :) |
Great Little Point and ShootThis is my fourth digital camera, and the second powershot. Nice updates over the SD400- menus are even easier and more logical. The 3" screen is great! Consistent quality and results. I highly recommend it!
|
the best for the priceit's a very nice small and effective camara, the best u can get for this price and category. very solid and the anti-scrach cover rocks. manuel modes of the camara are awesome, and face detection with red eye reduction works great. only drow back, it has no image stab. system, but with digit III and high ISO u wont notice the difference.
|
maybe SD630 is better?I purchased this SD750 for my parents. After reading some professional reviews for SD630 and SD750, I kind of think that maybe I should go with SD630. The shooting speed for SD630 is faster and it has several focus at the same time. In general, SD750 is good, but I am not sure whether it is better than SD630.
|
Great camera!I am very pleased with this camera. It is great for size, weight and ease of use. Was very easy to learn to use basic features and as have not yet tried manual settings unsure of those but directions appear straight forward. Would rec. to anyone looking for simple small camera as takes great pictures!
|
Very easy to use and slim cameraI got this camera recently and have been toying around with it since then. The frst thing I noticed was the autofocus and face detection. The FD is amazing in that it can actually find and "lock on" to moving faces in a shot!(up to 9) The focusing time is very minimal and this camera has amazing start up time.
All of the controls are easily reachable and you are able to customize some of the buttons to do a specified feature. For example, I programmed the print/share button to activate the recording mode when I'm in picture taking mode. That way, I can record a movie quickly without sliding the top toggle to movie mode! This was a bonus I didn't expect. The camera is very thin and fits about anywhere you would need it to. I really like the dual tone woth black and silver although it collects fingerprints easily, but I just wipe it off with a microfiber cloth. About all the reviews about short battery life, I found the battery to last quite a while, although not the longest I've seen. If you are on a trip, you should be able to get by with recharging a single battery every night. This thing takes beautiful pictures both indoors and out! The color in the vivid 3 inch screen is amazing and feels more true to life than any other. You can select many different sizes for your pictures and this makes printing very simple. Compatibility with pictbridge makes it compatible with almost every photo printer. It comes with an av cable which is definitely a bonus. It lets you watch and take pictures from your tv screen! Video mode is better than I ever expected! Nearly camcorder quality with great sound! This makes thei camera a two in one camera saving you a few pounds in having to carry around a camcorder vacation. [...] |
Awesome camera with superb picturesI just purchased this camera two days ago and I simply love it. I did a lot of research and ended up buying two cameras (Samsung S1050 and Nikon Coolpix S50) that weren't great. I returned the Samsung because the picture quality was okay but it wasn't great plus the camera was huge. I returned the beautiful Nikon because my fingers would always end up in the pictures (a camera design flaw).
Now, the SD750 is far above my expectations. First off, this was my first choice for a camera but I ended trying the other two because they both had a few features that the SD750 lacks. However, the picture quality and the size of this camera outshines the other two. I highly recommend this camera. It has an okay look with GREAT picture quality and some neat features. I plan to put it to use this weekend at a graduation and a camp trip. |
Great camera, easy to use. This is my second digital camera. Going from a 3.3 pixel Panasonic to this amazing machine was well worth it. I waited for the latest Canons to arrive and did a ton of research on different models before my trip. You can't go wrong with this little guy. It's compact, big 3" screen, great Video capture, lot's of great presets, and a pretty easy to figure out features. I have only two complaints about this camera. No image stabilization, No icon to show you how low your battery is. If you buy this camera, make sure you get an extra battery, and at least a 4GB memory card, I highly recommend the Extreme Sandisk brand. If you want quick and reliable photos don't go cheap on memory cards. Overall I think this is a real great value and a great camera.

Beautiful pictures, but inconvenient battery chargingI bought this camera for my wife so she would have a top-of-the-line compact for taking pictures of our baby son. Neither of us has ever owned a Canon before, so I based my decision to buy from reviews and a friend's recommendation. Now that it has arrived I can happily confirm that picture quality and function are outstanding. The lack of image stabilization hasn't been a problem at all and despite the negative comments on zoom we find 3x more than adequate for the type of pictures we take. The only negative comment I have is that the battery has to be removed from the camera each time it needs to be recharged. This is a big inconvenience to us and I have to believe a detriment to camera longevity due to the wear and tear each time the battery is pulled from the contacts. For all I know, this may be a common characteristic of Canon digital compacts, but we were shocked because all the other digital camera's we've owned including an old Sony and a couple of Fuji compacts all charge the battery internally. While this lack of capability isn't enough to send the camera back, it is the reason I am only giving it a 4 star rating.
|
Great Small CameraLove the 3' LCD and everything about camera. U should buy a better memory card with your purchase b/c the 32M card is a joke. It held 10 pics. I bought the 4g Sandisk SDHC after getting the camera and now it's perfect.

Great Upgrade from the SD200Every few years I accept the fact that there has been enough technological advancements in digital photography to buck for a new Canon Elph. My previous Canon SD200 was a pure tank, it took great photos and survived college parties, a trip to India, and and 6 foot crowd surfing tumble at a concert!
With that said, I narrowed my selections to the signature/retro Eplh looking SD1000 and the contoured new look of the SD750. Well, when Dell put the SD750 on sale for $239.20 (5/26/07, still available) my decision was made. Here are some major upgrades I noticed from my SD200. -Screen is much brighter, clearer, and larger. HUGE Improvement in overall quality of this. Took out the old school 'viewfinder' hole to make room for the larger screen...no problem with me! Pure LCD screen for sure. -Digic III Processor is much faster than the Digic II. From starting the camera to wait time before the next shot, the SD750 runs laps around my SD200. -Features: In addition to Marco/Normal options, there is now an 'Infinity' option that lets you grab shots from far away. Digital zoom is up to 12x, as good as any ultra-compact out there. 7.1 MegaPixels, why would any amateur need any more?! I've been messing around with the 'Time Lapse' capture....AMAZING! This is a cool feature that will be awesome for sunsets. -My biggest CON is the playback button placement. Instead of having it with the rest of the photo/video buttons, they put a tiny button on the back of the camera by itself. This will be very confusing for a lot of new users trying to use this camera. Aside from that, I've been blown away by the power and speed of this camera. Pictures are much clearer, there are plenty of manual options that should keep me busy for awhile. Once again, Canon pulls it off. |
The Perfect Compact CameraI had considered getting a digital SLR camera instead, but the Elph's tiny size make it more ideal for parties, which is when I take most of my pictures. This is probably the best camera of its kind I have ever owned. It is everything that I would expect from Canon and more. It takes GREAT pictures! I also especially like the nice 3.0" LCD screen. It includes technology that is supposed to base the focus using facial recognition software. I was a little skeptical as to how well this would work, but I am very pleased indeed! The lens extends quickly when it is turned on, it zooms in and out quickly, and the lens retracts quickly when it is turned off. I would recommend this camera to anyone.
|
sweet little cameraI am really enjoying this camera. it's got a nice big clear screen, is lightweight and takes very crisp photos.

No viewfinder, otherwise greatAs a Florida travel photographer I spend a lot of time at Walt Disney World and Canon PowerShots are the most common cameras I see. Families on vacation seem to love them. Why? Because they're easy to carry and easy to operate. Each about the size of deck of playing cards, these "pocket cameras" really do slip right into the pocket of a shirt or pair of cargo pants, and their retro rectangular designs makes them easy to grip. And they take good photos. Here's my breakdown of the four top-selling PowerShot models:
4TH PLACE: Canon PowerShot SD700 IS 6MP Digital Elph Camera with 4x Image Stabilized Zoom was Canon's top-of-the-line ELPH in 2006. It takes good shots, but be careful with the flash. It's often too bright for indoor close-ups and low light outdoor scenes, and so close to the lens that people often end up with red eyes. With a list price of $350, it's the same price as the more advanced 2007 models: 3RD PLACE: Canon PowerShot SD750 7.1MP Digital Elph Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Silver) is the new Powershot flagship. And dang if it ain't almost perfect! It includes a light meter that adjusts for facial brightness, 17 shooting modes, some first-rate movie features and offers red-eye correction. But the entire back is an LCD display, which looks cool but means the camera does not have a viewfinder -- a must for shooting in bright sun! $450 list. 2ND PLACE: Canon PowerShot SD800 IS 7.1MP Digital Elph Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Image-Stabilized Optical Zoom attempts to add a wide-angle lens into the standard set of PowerShot goodies. The image stabilizer works well, but the lens doesn't focus well at its edges when set at its widest angle. Still, it's good training for someone who wants to compose like a pro. An Amazon best-seller, with a list price of $350. 1ST PLACE: Canon PowerShot SD1000 7.1MP Digital Elph Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Silver) is everything you need in a pocket camera. Better still, everything works well and it's a good value. The companion model to the 750, the 1000 trades in that giant LCD screen for a traditional viewfinder-and-LCD arrangement, with a 2.5-inch screen. It's also slightly thinner and lighter overall. With a list price of just $350, it doesn't waste a dollar. Often Amazon's top-selling camera. -- By Mike Neal, photographer for The Complete Guide to Walt Disney World. |
Camera great - buying experience poorEverything went fine with this purchase...the seller got me the camera quickly and I like the Camera.
However Amazon told me that this item qualified for free shipping and then did not let me select a free shipping method. Bad on Amazon! |
An Impressive Compact SnapshooterI purchased the SD750 as a gift for a friend based on all the reviews I have seen online. I have used many Canon cameras in the past, from my first A20, to an S80, to a S3 IS, and finally to a Rebel XT.
The main reason I chose the SD750 is the 3 inch LCD. I originally saw the sd630 at a party and I was impressed by the size of the 3 inch LCD screen. I decided then that if I ever get another snapshot camera, it had to have a 3 inch LCD. It just makes framing and playback so much more pleasant. When actually using the LCD viewfinder, I found the realtime "viewfinder" image somewhat course. My guess is that they had to lower the image quality to get a decent frame rate on the viewfinder. HOWEVER, the lower image quality is only found in viewfinder mode, the actual image in playbacks or reviewing movies/images on the 3inch LCD is far more crisp. Initially there was a bit of confusion over the sd750 and the sd1000, afterall the higher number of sd1000 should be a better camera right? Well, not so in this case... the sd1000 just has a slightly smaller body and smaller lcd, internals are for the most part, the same. Images taken by this camera are excellent for a compact camera. I shot in indoor lighting with and without flash, images are excellent. Word of warning though, since this is a snapshooter, 8 times out of 10 this camera WILL be flashing your subjects in indoor environments. If you turn off the flash and find a stable base to take pictures, this camera can take some very nice flashless images. The white balance in indoor light can be off a little bit at times, but it is not so much as to ruin the picture. In fact, I got some interesting light effect from it. I found that the camera interface is slightly less intuitive than previous models that I have used. Buttons tend to have multiple functions, I had to take a quick look at the manual to find some functions. But once I knew where they were it was quite easy to change settings. I also prefer the squarer body over the more rounded body of other sd models like the SD900. I am always afraid that the sd900 body will just slip out of my fingers. The sd750 however is a little more secure to grip due to its flat sides. |
Great Camera!I bought this camera only about 6 hours ago but I'm already a wiz at using it. That's how easy it is to use. I didn't even read the whole manual. The picture quality is great and the LCD screen is big and gorgeous. I definitely reccomend this camera for anyone who's just starting out or anyone who wants a no-fuss camera.
|
No ProblemsJust got back from vacation and got to use the camera alot. Nice pictures and quick shots. The one bad thing is there is not enough warning when the batteries charge is almost out. I have a 2nd battery on the way. Otherwise we loved it.

I LOVE this camera!!This is my second digital camera, and i love it!(my first one was bought an a whim, and it turned out to be terrible). I am going off to college this fall, and I wanted a good camera to easily take pictures to send to my family. I researched every camera I could find, and it always turned out that I preferred this camera. The LCD screen is awesome because it is so big, and it has lots of scene modes programmed in. The zoom is great, and the camera works fine without the image stabilization. I have taken several pictures of rapidly moving objects on the kids and pets setting, and they have all turned out crystal clear. The color accent setting is really cool too, especially when there is one bright thing in a frame, like a flower. I just love this camera and I can't wait to use it more.

Captain Kirk never had one of these!Just less than a short decade ago the consensus was that digital would never replace film. That time has passed. Not only has digital replaced film but i would also like to add that now all my photos look almost exactly as I remember them as my eyes perceived the image when I took the shot.
This small marvel is reasonably priced. Why son, I remember paying $500 for a 2 megapixel camera not very long ago. The image quality is amazing, my prints which I make in my kitchen look amazing and everything in this camera is amazing. This is not my only camera. I do have a very nice Canon 20 D SLR with many lenses. That camera gives great results and is for more artsy, professional situations. Still, let no one think this small Canon can not deliver Art, or high quality images. It can. This cameras strengths are it's size and discrete nature. This is a consumer camera and it's small size and huge image capabilities point to the future. I think there will probably always be big SLRs but I do foresee a day when something this small could entirely satisfy my image making needs. Once they crack the lens problem for this small size I can almost smell the end of large SLR's. I bought this for it's size. It's power and features are all a bonus. I do see now the gap closing and size winning out. Wait 10 years and soon your phone, ipod, camera, internet, credit cards, car keys, and medical scanner will all be in one device. Star Trek called it a Tricorder. Spock carried the bulky think around all the time. In Next generation it looked like a big flip phone from 5 years ago. opps I blinked, it's here, and it's called an iphone. Just wait everyone. Just wait. Today ten years means next week. |
Best of the Best!! I LOVE this Camera!!This camera is great. It's small, takes excellent/sharp photos, ergonomic, looks cool. And OH that large, bright and crisp 3inch LDC is the way to go. I will never miss a view finder. IS would be good, but if you stick with Canon (and I do) you have to go with the bigger, thicker sd700, sd800, sd900 etc. It's not worth it to me.
If you're in the market, don't walk, RUN and buy this camera. Better yet, just order from Amazon as they have a great price. You can also get an extra battery for $13 from Amazon. It's not Canon but mine works great! I can't say enough good things about this camera. |
Love it, love it, LOVE ITThe camera only arrived yesterday but I'm already in love. I have an old Canon S410, which I foolishly replaced earlier this year with a Panasonic. I finally got fed up with the poor picture quality and usability of the Panasonic and now I've got this sweet little 750. What I love so far:
--Controls are easy to use. I've got it all figured out and only consulted the manual once. --Huge, vivid LCD. --Easy to grip without accidentally hitting buttons. I did this all the time with my Panasonic and it drove me crazy. --Fast shutter speed. --Face recognition--it's cool to watch the focus box light up around someone's face in LCD. So far I've only taken photos around the house but I'm very happy with the quality of them so far. If you've had a Canon in the past you'll be pleased at how easy this camera is to learn. I'm a Canon lover for life! |
Worth the price!I bought this camera a few weeks ago and have had nothing but good experiences! The photo quality is perfect and the shutter speed it second to none!!! I recommend this camera to ANYONE and EVERYONE!!!!
|
Canon's are a smart buyI've had a Canon SD100 for 3 years. It has out lived its memory card, but when the memory card failed, I thought it was the camera finally giving up on me after all the abuse I've made it suffer through. I loved my Canon. It was small, easy to use, offered good features, and took great pictures, so I knew I'd be buying a new Canon. After reading the reviews and comparing what each camera had to offer, I chose the SD750, but I know that I would have been satisfied with any of them. After I got my new camera, I realized that it WAS exactly what I wanted it to be, and offered so much more than my old camera. Once I realized that it was the memory card that was the problem and not my old Canon, I was even more in love with this brand of camera. That old camera looks well loved, it's been dropped, scratched, dropped, dealt with rain and sand, dropped, and it still works without a problem. I'm impressed by the quality of pictures and the quality of the camera's body.
|
Excellent Picture Quality Awesome PieceI bought Canon SD750 7.1 megapixel digital camera. This product is simply a masterpiece. No comparison to SD1000 or SD800. For the quality, this price is very reasonable. I love this Digital Camera. Unmatched quality of the picture added with 3 inch LCD size gives the greatness of this product. Buy and see for yourself.

Great little cameraI bought this for my mom, who's not particularly tech-savvy, and it was relatively easy for her to figure out and use. Besides that though, it's a great little camera. I have the SD600, and I noticed that this upgrade has a bigger and clearer screen, more options, and is a little thinner to boot. Highly recommended.
|
I love my cameraI wanted a small camera that would take indoor and low light photo's and this is wonderful. My husband has a SLR and he also likes my little camera. The movie option on this camera is also wonderful for those quick moments that you want just a little more than a photo. The quality is very good. If I had it to do over again I would by the same camera.

Very dependable and versatileAm very happy with this purchase. Love the large LCD screen. It comes in handy when using the screen as a reference for painting on location.

Excellent for casual photographers, good backup for serious onesCasual shooters and serious amateurs both have reason to be well-pleased with the SD750. I bought mine as a more convenient "backup" for a DSLR (the Canon 30D). It replaces the Canon PowerShot S80, which I loved until the day I gave it to my girlfriend.
First, the not so bad. The SD750 is lacking some of the features that I loved in the S80. As a serious hobbyist, I really want the maximum of manual control for my camera, and i try to avoid the programmed modes. Unfortunately, the SD750 does not allow me to fully control exposure or some other settings. This lack of control is probably a strong point for the casual shooter, though. It is also very useful for me, because it fits neatly in a jeans or shirt pocket, and can be carried places where a larger SLR camera would not be convenient. The S80, while more full-featured (and with higher resolution), was just a little too big for this kind of thing. The SD750, on the other hand, goes nearly everywhere with me. The camera has a fantastic, bright, and huge LCD screen. Aside from its physical aspects, it has the same amazing color reproduction that the Canon digital line is known for. It produces decent images in low-light situations, provided you use a tripod, monopod, or some other mechanism to brace it (as well as the shutter timer) to minimize the shake from the shutter release. This camera only gets 4 stars from me because it (a) lacks IS; (b) has 1 megapixel lower resolution; and (c) does not have full manual or aperture priority modes. |
Excellent Digital CameraVery large Lcd, stunning image quality and a very light and portable body. Thanks Canon...
|
Almost a perfect cameraThis camera is small, attractive, and takes beautiful pictures. It also has fun features like color swap and color accent that you can play around with. However, it is missing a very important feature: Image stabilization. You really have to have a steady hand when taking photos with this camera, which is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5.
|
One great camera!!!The Canon PowerShot SD750 is one great camera. It has excellent photo quality (7.1 Mega Pixels), great color, and a long lasting battery. Although it has no viewfinder, it has a very large (3 inch) screen which looks great. I would definitely recommend this camera.
|
Large screen and fast boot up and processingCompared to my old Canon digital cameras, this one has the largest screen and is the fastest for both the boot up and processing (time interval between photos). The colours from Canon are as always natural. This camera is marketed under the Ixus brand and is priced more expensive in Asia.
|
Wonderful camera. I reccommend to all!takes great pictures and looks great too. all features in this camera are amazing and it is not lacking in any aspect.
|
Display is so bright that no viewfinder is needed.I love this camera and wanted to say that the display is so bright that you can use it in sunlight. People who complained about no peephole viewfinder are just refusung to accept progress. This is better and there is just no need for squinting through a peephole that may not be accurate. You can even brighten the display momentarily by pressing one button. Also the battery life is amazing. In spite of the brightly lit display, you can take hundreds of pictures without recharging
|
Amazing! This camera is so fast, even using flash! Great quality pics as well. You'll need to upgrade your memory card if you're gonna take alot of quality pics and videos. So small!
|
Canon cameraThe Canon Powershot is a great camera that takes quality pictures. I carry my camera everywhere I go and I couldn't be happier with it. Other people compliment my camera all the time, and after buying my camera, three other people bought one similiar to mine and they all love theirs as well. The features on the camera are outstanding and easy to use.

Very pleasedI ordered this camera as a replacement for our venerable Sony P90 which has been having some battery issues lately. Choice was between this or the Sony T100. In the end went with Canon on price and form factor.
The Good - Video quality is excellent (as long as you don't use the zoom). I find myself using this more than my video camera now mainly because of the great portability - Amazing battery life - Pictures look great, still use the SLR for super high quality pics but this will do 99% of what most casual users need. - Loads of picture 'modes' with presets, not much fine grain control but didn't really expected in this form factor - It's tiny, very portable with quick startup meaning you find yourself taking a lot more shots. - Face recognition is a nice feature, finding a lot less reject images The Bad - Supplied SD Card is too small (as usual) - No low battery indicator. Warning is given only when the battery is almost out which is unfortunate since the battery lasts for ages and will undoubtedly mean a flat battery when you least expect it. |
Review Canon Powershot SD750 CameraGreat product! Clear, precise pictures; anti-shake feature is nice; movies are easy to make...haven't figured out how to download them yet though. Iphoto just accepts the first picture, not the movie. Most times, indoor light exposure is automatically adjusted to give a better indoor picture, but sometimes the pictures still come out darker than desired. Very compact. Rechargeable battery is terrific! It only takes 90 minutes to charge, and it lasts for at least 100 pictures. All in all, a nice camera.

It is by far the WORST Canon model in terms of blurriness!I owned 3 Canon digital cameras before purchasing the SD750. I bought this one originally because I needed another Canon to replace my old Canon (5.0 megapixels). I took the SD750 on my 2 wks vacation and 80% of the photos I took came out blurry once you view them up close and download them onto the computer. Even though I love the slim modern design and the HUGE 3" screen, but it does NOT have a good stabilizer. I view myself as a decent photographer since I used my other 3 (old) Canons for years and the photos ALWAYS come out very clear and sharp. That's the MAIN reason why I stuck with Canon for so long. (I hate Sony digital camera anyway but that's another story.) But the SD750 was such a disappointment!! Maybe the one I got was defective but BestBuy (where I purchase the camera from) tested it out and said it was fine. So I ended up returning the SD750 and bought the SD850 (8.0 megapixels). Even though it's $100 more than the SD750, but the SD850 comes with the image stabilizer. I figure more money equals higher quality and I was right. The SD850 is flawless!!! I highly recommend the SD850 instead!!
|
Amazing picture and video quality for its compact size.Besides the lightning delivery by amazon(USPS), this little monster is amazing. totally recommended if you are looking for a compact camera that takes good quality pictures at any time of the day!

Great cameraThis is an awesome little camera. The huge LCD screen alone was worth the purchase. My previous camera was a Nikon Coolpix 5600 and while the pictures came out pretty good, the shutter lag-time was quite frustrating. I'd always miss the shot I wanted because the picture was snapped well after I'd depressed the button. The other thing that was frustrating was the flash, it took soooooo long to recharge and the LCD would go black for 3 - 5 seconds. This camera has none of the those problems and is just great. Just on the "auto" setting it captures action shots really well. Took some photos of my horse and dogs and there wasn't an out of focus shot in the bunch. The rechargeable battery goes a long way on one charge. The software that comes with the camera does not have to be installed on your computer if you have Picasa (Google's free picture download program), but I'll give Canon's software a shot at some point, hopefully it's got more tools and features to use. Great, crisp photos, easy to operate camera, I think I referenced the manual once or twice, the rest was easy to figure out.

Great for Point and shoot and YouTube videosI have used digital cameras for couple of years and of a couple of other brands Sony, Samsung etc. And my experience with Canon has been very good. This is expected from a company which specializes in cameras, others make consumer electronics and making a digital camera is just to complete their line of products.
Remember: 1. Most important thing in a camera is lens and in case of digital camera its lens and the CCD sensor. Canon's Digic I, II & III sensors are the best. 2. Megapixels are not important after 4MP. Since anything larger than 4MP means that we can print huge posters larger that 8x10, which most people don't. 3. Large MP camera mean large file sizes which mean you will have to buy a 1-2 GB SD Card, and eventually a very large hard disk to store these pictures. This camera at 7.1 MP makes pictures files of 2.5 to 3 Megabytes. This is an excellent camera for only those people who are looking for a small and light camera, people who just want to point and shoot and don't care much about other details. Some of the Pros and Cons: Pros: - Small and light - Good picture quality in well lit areas (sunlight, indoors daytime) - Excellent video quality. They look really great on YouTube. - Large LCD screen, but large means less battery life. However, enough for 150-200 pictures between recharges. - Can print dates on pictures, but at a lower resolution. Cons: - Not very feature rich. - Not much manual setting. - Not so good picture quality in low light. But again these cons are there because it was designed for amateurs to point and shoot. Bottomline is that if you are looking for a light, point and shoot camera then this is a 5 star camera, but if are looking for more features then look for Canons Powershot A series cameras or Canon EOS SLRs. |
Great camera with large lcd screenJust took this camera to DC and it's so small I was able to carry it in a pocket. This camera takes excellent photos, fairly easy to use as well. I also purchased separately a delkin snug case which protects the lens and the lcd screen.
|
Easy to use cameraThis camera is so easy to use!! The large viewing screen makes focusing in on your image clear. This camera has a very quick shutter speed that helps you capture moments before they disappear. On-screen directions help go from function to function. Get this one...you'll be amazed!!

Canon does it again!!!! I have been buying Canon for years now. Even have one of their aps cameras laying around somewhere. This camera does not disappoint. This camera replaced my venerable A85 which finally gave up the ghost only after a severe dunking (with me too). Battery life is great. Quick flash recharge between shots. Huge screen. I can see it even in the sun. So far, I do not miss having an optical viewfinder.
My brother has the next model up with image stabilization but only the 2.5" screen. My advice is to save your money and go with the larger screen of the 750. I really couldn't tell a difference with the image stabilization under normal conditions. The only negative, and not enough to knock the rating, is the battery indicator. When it goes red, you only have a few minutes of operation left. It would be nice if it had a more detailed battery level indicator. The battery does last a long time though as previously mentioned. The software that ships with the camera is really pretty good. I too use Picasa but I tried the Canon software to do editing and printing. Very easy to use. I have not used the software to download the images as I have a card reader on my computer. I have always used card readers, the're easier in my opinion. The direct printing works well too if you have a printer that supports it. You can do some basic editing right on the camera before you print. All in all a great LITTLE camera that I highly recommend. Don't even feel it in my pocket. It has plenty of shooting options and takes excellent photos. It takes such good videos that I sold my 5 year old mini dv camcorder. I have been experimenting with the macro mode in our sunny garden. The flower photos are stunning! Even cooler when I plug the camera into our HD tv. |
canon powershot sd750 7.1mpthe camera is great i had a 650 and wanted the the new dig 3 processor. best out there son still has th dig 2 in his 650 took side by side pictures 25% better. who needs view finder with 3" screen. 7.1mp is perfect. no need for more. also the moving pictures are clear and no red eye + portriate mode. very light. don't get the 2.5 screen for a few $less. nelson
|
FantasticThe SD 750 is a fantastic piece of technology. It is simple to operate and packed with features to address shooting pictures in every conceivable situation. Buy the extra battery, you are certainly going to need it for those occassions when you take lots of photos and video clips.
|
Excellent CameraThis is a great camera for everyday use. It takes excellent 7MB pictures, has some neat features including face recognition, custom settings, good quality video including time lapse. It is small enough to forget its in your pocket, yet has a big 3" display for viewing/showing pictures immediately (lets face it, that's one of the great benefits of digital vs film). And the display has a scratch resistant face that is scratch-free so far (we don't use a carrying case).
Battery life is surprisingly good for a small battery. |
My Amazing PowerShot SD750This Camera is simply amazing & whatever words I try to find won't do it justice! The simplicity of point and shoot, the face detecting, the video shooting and most of all how slim the body is that I can always keep it in my purse or even my pocket.
The only bad thing about this camera that it doesn't let you know about the battery, only all of a sudden it shows you that it's dying, but I solved that by purchasing a cheap 100% compatible replacement battery & now I don't have to worry about that. I have 2GB SD card that gives me over 1000 photos with the highest quality & over 3000 photos with the postcard setting, it's just INCREDIBLE! I love this camera. |
Excellent little cameraThis camera is excellent, this is my 4th canon powershot and I love it. Is very stylish, has a great size, has a lot of great features, has an easy menu, the display is amazing and has a great price. I highly recomend it.
|
Great Camera for this price rangeI recently returned from two trips which is the reason I purchased this camera. I already own a digital camera which is too bulky to throw in my purse so I have to carry it around my neck letting everyone know I'm a tourist. The SD750 Elph camera was the perfect solution. I was able to carry it in my purse or pocket and always ready for that perfect picture. More important, it takes great pictures, as good if not better than my more expensive camera.
|
Best EverThis is the best quality camera for the price. It takes great pictures and has great editing/formating tools. I love it!
|
great little cameraWe bought this great little camera to keep in our pocket during a vacation. It is quick on the draw and takes great pictures, which are really important for this class of camera. It is fun, easy to use, and gives great results.
After getting used to the camera, there are a few minor quibbles I have. For one thing there is no battery meter, which was unexpected. That is about the only real complaint I have. It does not have AP or SP priority modes, which I have wanted a few times. I knew this up front, and still happily chose the camera, so I can only fault myself for that. The time lapse mode does not allow for a custom or arbitrary interval, but it is still fun. I always wish a camera had manual focus. But all these things do not detract from the 5 star rating, they are just a wish list for the next revision. Basically, there were a few times when I wished I had more than a pocket camera in my pocket. But for a pocket camera this thing is great. |
super coolI gave this to my wife as a gift, and I was looking for a simple point and shoot with video features as well. I must say upfront that at the time of this writing, we haven't used the camera extensively, only for about 1 month; but, this 1 month has been awesome with the camera. Great auto-focus, super-duper screen, nice form factor. I like it! My friends are jealous :-)

GREAT CAMERATHIS CAMERA HAS ALOT FOR BEING SO SMALL. I LOVE IT!! GREAT PICTURES AND EVERYTHING IS EASY TO USE.

Canon PowerShot SD750 manages to distinguish itself as a well-designed, practical cameraSandwiched between similar 7-megapixel siblings--the PowerShot SD800 IS on one side and the PowerShot SD1000 on the other--the Canon PowerShot SD750 nevertheless manages to distinguish itself as a well-designed, practical option for snapshooters who favor big LCDs over optical viewfinders.
The 5.3-ounce SD750 doesn't quite match the SD1000 for compactness, but its 3.6x2.2x0.8 inch body will fit just as comfortably in a pants pocket. It comes in silver and silver with black accents, the latter design recalling the early film Elphs. The Touch Dial Control--so named for its optional ability to display a virtual dial when you simply touch the control--quickly accesses the small set of shooting options, including ISO speed, flash mode, macro/infinite focus, and continuous/timer. Though it doesn't offer manual or semi-manual exposure modes, it does supply a host of color enhancements and scene modes, exposure compensation, and a choice of three metering modes. For focus, Canon provides a face-detection AF mode, which automatically locates a face (just one) and determines focus and metering for it. That's in addition to the company's standard AiAF automatic focus-point selector and center focus. The face-detect AF works reasonably well, but the option is buried within the menus and only works in conjunction with the AiAF; that is, if it doesn't find a face, it falls back on AiAF. I generally don't like the automatic focus selection on any camera--they never seem to find the desired subject, just the closest. So I don't like the face-detection option stuck in a set-it-and-forget-it location. You may feel otherwise. Overall, however, I find the SD750's layout intelligent and comfortable to use. It has a big 3-inch LCD for framing and playback. The LCD appears bright and easy to see, even in direct sunlight, although it also tends to look a bit coarse. For more details on the SD750's design and image quality, click the image. Photo and movie quality rank high for an ultracompact. In fact, despite almost identical innards with the SD1000--they both use the same sensor, f /2.8-4.9 35mm-105mm (35mm equivalent) 3X zoom lens, and Digic III processor--the photos from the SD750 look a bit better, especially vis-a-vis high ISO noise. As measured by CNET Labs' tests and in photo samples, the SD750's noise profile generally outperformed both the SD1000 and the SD800 IS. With the exception of photos shot under our extremely warm tungsten lights, white balance, exposure, and saturation look very good. Movies look equally good, in part because Canon captures in MJPEG, which uses far less compression than other cameras' MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 formats. As a result, a 30fps 640x480 movie uses about 2MB per second of storage. On the other hand, the SD750's performance matched that of the SD1000. It takes 1.0 second from start to shoot, with subsequent photos about 1.6 seconds apart without flash and 2.3 seconds with the flash enabled. Shutter lag measures 0.5 second in our high-contrast test, which mimics bright shooting conditions, and 0.9 second in our low-contrast test, which mimics dim shooting conditions. Continuous shooting was the only disappointment--approximately 1.6 frames per second regardless of image size. It lacks the image stabilization of the SD800 IS and the tiny appeal of the SD1000, but the Canon PowerShot SD750 has a more elegant, cutting-edge design, large LCD and--to my eyes, at least--better photo quality. |
Finally!!!! a great camera that is EASY to operateOkay - don't know the tech stuff but after reading Amazon reviews decided I would try this Canon digital. I am so happy I can operate it and take really nice pictures. Tried the outdoor setting for trees & was amazed how nice the picture looked. Tried taking indoor shots of my dogs - they look professional (pictures not my dogs) Even made a movie for the first time in my life - it worked & I am happy! Thank you Canon and Amazon reviewers.

Very good cameraThis camera is very good for many reasons and i will tell you why...
The LCD is 3.0in The camera has fase detection Takes VGA videos (With sound) This camera is very small and thin Has 12X digital zoom Has red eye correction So if you want a camera that is small and takes good pictures choose the Canon powershot SD750. |
Cannon > SonyGreat camera! I recently purchased this camera for my girlfriend and the Sony Cybershot T100 for myself. If anyone is trying to decide between the two, I would definitely go with the Cannon. It's easier to use, has more features, and the screen is clearer. The Sony is nice to, but head to head this camera is nicer, cheaper, works with a usb cord(not the extremely bulkly sony one), and takes a cheaper memory card.
|
Amazing video qualityI had a Canon S500 before that I liked a lot but this one is amazing! The video quality is fantastic! Of course it takes excellent pictures as well. Very light and durable, small camera with a huge screen.
I use it a lot to take short videos of family. |
Perfect Point-n-Shoot CameraI see myself as a amature photo-junky, 1 or 2 steps above the casual camera user. I was debating on SD750 or Sony T-100. I finally purchased SD750 while my friend purchased the T100. Few days of playing with the SD750 and a quick look at the T100, Im happy with my decision.
First, let me say if you are not going to use all the functions on the camera, you cant' really go wrong with either one of them. Dependable and works fine in most situations. Design, I think the T-100 looks more attractive, but after that I believe SD750 is better. LCD Screen. both have 3inch LCD, but Canon has less glare and is more vivid. both gets fuzzy in low light situations, but lcd picture isnt what you get when u print. Stability. T-100 has image stabilization to compensate for slower shutter speed. which helps, but i still like Canon's performance. It just takes better pictures on a constant basis. Canon seems to take better pictures in low light (indoor or dim light) ZOOM. T100 has 5X and SD750 has 3X. to me zoom on a PNS has no meaning, because 90% of the time you arent taking a photo far away. Battery. Both suck up battery quickly. but the T-100 seems to last longer than the SD750. I just bought another batter pack to compensate for short battery life. Sony Powershot T-100 on the down side. Takes something like 5 hours to fully Charge, while SD750 only takes me 1.5 hours. Options. I think they have about the same amount of functions. IE portrait, macro, and what not. Although i havent read the T100 manual. Video. Both take great video. But i think t-100 has a HD version. I like Canons because u can directly connect your camera to OP source and play it. I dont think T100 had that ability. RECOMMENDATIONS. Buy a SDHC (SD-high capacity) Card. with Class rating of 4 or better (3 class speeds, 2 4 6, determines how fast u write and read info on the card) I take video clips and do Continious photos alot. which means i fill up memory space fast, and Need a card that can keep up with the demand. Get atleast a 4gig SDHC card. Both cameras are able to read the new SDHC cards. Extra battery for 8 bucks on e bay for SD750 is a good idea. Overall, canon is a better bang for your buck. Cheaper, and the performance is equal or better than the SONY. but if you wanna show off to your friends, get the SONY, but if u want all around pictures get the SD750 |
Love it!I Love it! I have a kodak digital that is a bit bulky. I wanted one that fit in my purse easily. I teach school and often wish I had my camera with me, now I will. Easy to use and love the rechargable battery.
|
Mixed feelingsI'll start this off by saying this is my first digital camera and I'm not an avid photographer. However,I am puzzled by this camera.
The controls are very easy to figure out, and using the camera is a breeze. But the pictures don't turn out right. Everything is way too vivid and unnatural looking. I've tried everything imaginable to fix this, since there are a ton of settings and modes to play around with and I've read the troubleshooting in the instruction book, but NONE of my pictures look natural. That being said, since I'm not an avid photographer, maybe this is really good compared to other cameras, but it's not perfect. The video feature is great. The sound is ok, and the picture on that looks better than the photographs. To summarize, the Pros are: Easy to figure out controls and pretty good video, and the Con is that it's been impossible to get a natural looking picture. |
Canon SD750I love this camera! Everything about it is wonderful. If all you want to do is take pictures without worrying about anything else, buy this camera. We took it on our trip to Europe and took pictures of everything. It was always there in my little bag. It's light, easy to use and takes great pictures. What more could you ask for?
|
My first Digital CameraI love it becuase it's sleek and sexy. I would have gotten a Cybershot if I had the money (I'm a college student), but I have no regrets. It's light and easy to use, and it has a very big screen to view photos on.
|
Terrific CameraThis is the best camera you will purchase under $300. Exceptionally large screen, average zoom, and abundant features make this camera a breeze to use. Facial recognition software in the camera is top notch.
|
blurry delayI was rather unimpressed with this camera given the rave reviews. Here are my top complaints:
1) BIG DELAY between when you depress the shutter button to take the picture and when the camera actually takes the picture. I really do not like this; I want the camera to capture when I press, not afterwards. This isn't a huge problem when taking stills but for action, kids, people, or anything else that tends to move, this is a BIG problem. 2) Blurry results. Another reviewer was right that when you download you will notice a significant blur to photos you can't see as well on the LCD screen when taking photos. I got better results when I turned off the face recognition feature but I am still highly disappointed with the lack of image sharpness and difficulties correcting the blur from one condition to the next. 3) ONLY USES LCD to frame the photo; I prefer the ability to view through an eye piece when I need precision. 4) LCD screen is such a significant portion of the camera, it is impossible not to touch it with fingers and hand thus smudging the screen. I constantly find myself trying to clean the screen. Since the screen is the only way to view and frame your shot, this is very, very frustrating - I like a clean screen. Overall, I have buyer's remorse. I cannot recommend this camera. I prefer to carry around a faster, bulkier SLR. My search for a relatively good 'pocket' camera continues. |
ExcellentThis camera is ideal for anyone who is on the road (because of its compact size) and anyone who likes to take impromptu videos (up to 30 min with a 2G card). Well designed and sturdy, this is my fifth digital camera and definitely the best.
I would highly recommend it to anyone. Be careful however, this camera has an awesome 3 inch display but no viewfinder. |
Perfect little camera! Before I got this camera I bought the Nikon Coolpix S7C but quickly decided that I did not like it. Even though I am a die hard Nikon fan having always used a Nikon up to my Nikon D70, I decided to check out the reviews for other brands. This one had great reviews. I took this one and my SLR Nikon to Disney World, but the Nikon never left the room. This Canon takes wonderful pictures! I fiddled and experimented with the Canon and got some great shots of the Epcot ball at night, but the people in the picture were grainy. My fault though. When I put it back on auto the people in the pictures were perfect, but I didn't get the glowing ball. The video is wonderful and I get no noise from it. It will video as long as your memory card will allow and I find myself grabbing it instead of my camcorder at times. It definately takes better video than my Sony Mini DVD camcorder which I hate. The large LCD is wonderful, and even though there is no viewfinder, I never found myself needing it; even in the bright sun at Disney World! All the playback functions are easy to access and the switch from video, auto and scene shots is right on top and very handy. I have always been very very careful in handling my cameras but I dropped this one two times at Disney World, hard falls too. Scared me tremendously, but the camera never faltered! I would whole heartedly recommend this camera. If you have any nonsense questions about this camera that you cant find answers for, please feel free to email me. I am NOT a camera expert, just a mother of three small kids. I want to figure out how to edit video and things with it but it's not been a priority. To put my pictures on my computer, I simply plug my camera to the computer (because a lot of SD cards mess up, twice I've had to shut down my system when using a card reader) and drag and drop my pictures where I want them. I even find it easier to plug my camera up rather than take out the card and put it in a card reader anyway. Plus I love being able to plug this camera to a large TV and show people my pictures from Disney World. I hope this helps someone. God Bless!

Excellent Point and ShootThis camera is more than I could have asked for. Excellent pictures, unreal display. Also, the photos toggle from horizontal to vertical depending on the orientation of the camera when it is in display mode... that way you can ACTUALLY see your vertical pictures without them being smushed into the horiz display. I love it.
|
This camera is a must. For the Price it is the best on the market. I did much research, but 7.2 mp, and movie mode that lets you zoom in and out. The manual features are great, because I have a DSLR I knew how to apply many of the features. I love the Create new Folder feature, helps organize different shootings in the same day. Battery life is FOREVER and it seems very durable.
Like I said, if you want a little point and shoot, it is a must have. The only thing bad about it is, the SD850 has a wider lens, but hey just back up and you get more. |
First Time BuyerThis is my first digital camera ever purchased and i love it. I did a couple of months of research and found this camera to fit my needs. I have had a lot of camera interaction through friends and family so I can definately tell the difference in picture quality. There are many different features and it seems like I everytime I play with it I find a new feature. Good camera and I'm looking forward to all the future pictures I will take.
|
Works for meJust looking for a good point and shoot camera. This gets the job done and the photos look great!
|
amazing cameraI bought this camera a little over 3 wks ago and i'm in love with it! i used to own the sd300 but when it broke it was almost the same price to repair as to buy a new one. The picture quality is amazing and the many picture modes are very helpful and easily accessible. The one drawback is that if you have sensitive eyes the pictures may be hard to take in the sunlight (there is no optical viewfinder with this camera). Another possible drawback is that on any Canon powershot you are never told how much battery life is left and are simply given a red battery sign when the battery is dying. Because of this i would highly recommend to buy a second battery, i did this and it is extremely helpful. This is a very attractive, light, and easy-to-use camera. There are really fun features such as color accent and color swap. the pros definitely outweigh the cons and i would highly recommend this camera
|
Good improvements but where are the old features?I recently aquired a SD750 after owning a SD600, SD450 and SD400. I love and stand by Canon for making the most convenient little cameras with the best picture quality. The "improvements" of this camera include redesign of the button layout, the inclusion of the soft wheel (this feature can be disabled and is at first a bit finicky), the removal of an eye piece (you are going to have to use up that battery whether you like it or not) and an aesthetic redesign. Works great and has a ton settings that can satisfy the "point and shooter" up to the advanced photographer. Dislikes: Not since the early canon's were you able to change the level of the flash (it is now either on or off) which is fine for a point and shoot, just be prepared to have many a blown-out photo in up-close shots. Worth every penny for the value; Canon does it again.

Not Satisfied with this CanonI am really a point and shoot guy when it comes to taking pictures so my idea of buying this camera was its good features and plus it's a canon. I had a canon powershot S30 few years back and it was a really good camera. I have a Sony -H1 now which is really good but it just doesn't fit into my pocket. I wanted something which can be carried around without a big bag hanging over your shoulder. I got this camera after reading thru a lot of reviews but was highly disappointed with the pictures.
The best thing about this camera - its ultra portable and it looks better than most of the other competitive products. The Camera is really fast in terms of powering on and taking instant pictures. The cons and this is where it really hurts - pictures are not sharp, they look very grainy. The flash is not powerful enough if you take a lot of indoor snaps. It has an awesome LCD display which compounds this problem. The pictures look great on the LCD screen but when you actually download it to your desktop you see a remarkable difference. I did try to play with the settings but that didn't really change much, finally had to return it back. |
Love Love Love it!I am a professional photographer and I don't like (or have the space) to carry around my pro cameras with the kids... SO, my husband bought me this and I LOVE IT! It's amazingly fast for a small camera, pictures are amazing, the little features are fun... you can't go wrong with this one.... its so slim too!! and the best part (besides the awesome features) is the screen!!!! SO BIG!!
MY ONLY COMPLAINT: Along with a lot of new digital cameras, there's NO eye hole--so when you want to take a picture and the sun is blaring down on you, you can't really see without making a shade with your hand. But, it's livable :) |
Great screenI love the 3" screen although it is a little hard to see in strong daylight. I haven't yet figured out all the bells and whistles, but I love the small size. I do kinda miss a viewfinder.

Awesome point and shoot cameraI've had a number of Canon digital and film camera's over the years. When it comes to digital models in professional and for the point and shoot group, they are simply the best. I recently purchased the SD750, admittingly, it has a couple of limitations, manual controls are limited, zoom range is only 3X. But on the positive side, it has a huge screen, start up is very fast, focusing is fast, and the pictures turn out great. Video works pretty well and you can use the zoom while in video mode. Oh, and one more thing, it's the size of a deck of cards. This is a great little, point and shoot camera, no frills, just function. What else do you really need for a pocket size camera that will give you excellent results. If you want more zoom, and maybe some image stabilization, look at the SD850. But for the money, the SD750 is an excellent, all around, take anywhere pocket camera!

The best camera. When you buy such gadget you think of quality and price and this is exactly what you get in Canon SD750. Easy to use, perfect pictures, big 3'' screen, and only for $250. There are some things bother my though like flash light which i prefer to have off, but here it changes to "on" after every power off.

Canon Digital CameraI had never filmed videos before, this camera makes it so easy! Great photos too, and it is so small it fits easily in any pocket or handbag.

Great Camera, Easy to use, Good Video, no Optical viewfinderThis Canon digicam is similar to the Canon SD1000, but does not have an optical viewfinder. It's easy to see why not! Almost the entire camera back is a color lcd screen! It's nice to see that cameras continue to improve! My Canon SD300 is still good, and I use it all the time. This new camera is even easier to use than older models. Very good communication to the user. If you need tons of camera info check out steves-digicams dot com. They really do in depth reviews! Video looks great on a big screen TV, and you can do that easily with the included cable. Fun! If you have Mac OSX computer, don't even install the CD- you won't need it! iPhoto will notice when you plug the camera (or card reader) into your Mac, and help with along! iPhoto is really great for all the basic stuff you might want to do with your photos. Well, actually there is one gem on the cd; PhotoStitch which is used for stitching together panoramas taken as several photos. That is really good! About the only features this camera doesn't have are optical viewfinder and image stabilization. And as usual, Amazon has a great price on it.

Great CameraThis camera is amazing for its size. The face recognition works well and battery life is enough to get hundreds of shots before recharging.

Love this camera! This camera is great! It takes stunning images, and the fine tuning for each setting is very ideal. This camera can be used for either an amateur or for those serious about learning photography. Battery life is good and I bought 1 gb memory card to go with it. I really love this camera! :)

Love it!!!I love love love this camera. I bought it for a bike trip to Maine. Small enough to use on the bike and even kyaking. The pictures are awesome....like postcards. People on the trip kept commenting on the pictures and the camera. I charged the battery every night and had no problem with losing power. Even the special settings like color affect are fun to use. I caught a pic of A-Rod's 500th at Yankee Stadium and the ball is in the picture...amazing. Highly recommend it.

great camera that goes anywhere with youthe quality of photo that this takes is phenomenal and it travels so well. i'm a big fan of canon anyway, and this camera totally lives up to my expectations. the video clips are super as well.

All I can say is WOWWOW! This is an amazing camera. With the on board features and included software, there is not much you can't do! My favorite feature is the color accent. You can select one color out of the shot to come through and the rest is black and white! It makes the coolest looking pics, and some I have taken of foliage have been requested by friends to make posters! Definitely wa great investment!

Great little "purse" camera! This is a great camera to carry in your purse... the camera that is always with you so you don't miss that important moment. The photo quality is pretty good for a point and shoot. It certainly won't compete with your DSLR. One bonus of this p |
