My 2nd digital camera and I love it.
This camera takes great pictures for a cheaper digital camera. I sell items on ebay and my pictures come out great. Check out my pictures on ebay. My user name is monte.ss My last camera was an Olympus and it left white spots on a lot of my pictures. This one does not and takes very good pictures even close up. It is also very easy to use and understand. The video movies are good but I wish they had sound with them. The battery life is very good and this camera only takes two standard size AA batteries compared two the four my Olympus took. The camera seems very durable as well and I do not get concerned when my family (younger kids) uses it for fear of them damaging it. I am very happy with this camera.

3.2 MP Camera for this price????
This thing is a steal!!!! Easy to use, great pictures, great software, small and light. The only problem that I have with this camera is that i had to buy a rechargable batteries. Also be sure to pick up the cradle.

Great first camera
This is my first digital camera. Friends of mine who know about digital cameras said I should find one with at least 3 MP and 3X Optical zoom (cameras that only have digital zoom lose quality when they zoom in). This was the best deal I could find with those features. The camera is easy to use even though I've never really messed with digital cameras before.

Great camera for first time users
This is a very user-friendly camera. It's fairly light and nice looking.
It has quite a lot of different functions that should satisfy all beginners.
The picture quality seems good, clear, and sharp, and the software is easy to operate.
For macintosh users like me, there is no software needed actually.

dissapointing, but still a bargain
I initially bought an EXTREMELY cheap digital from Wal-Mart for $20 (i know, it was stupid), so I saw this at Best Buy for $125, which seemed like a very good deal for a camera with 3.2 Megapixels.
Well, i still kind of stand by that, its hard to beat that price for so many MP's, but that doesnt really mean you should buy it.
this camera does not come with a charger or rechargeable batteries. I knew this when i bought it, but didn't think it would be to bad....wrong, it takes 2AA at a time, and with normal use (an hour or so every couple of days) it goes through about 4 or 6 a WEEK! if you like taking photos all the time, but can't afford a pro camera, dont buy this, the flash is decent (although it takes a while between taking pictues) but when it is off, it is TERRIBLE in even the slightest darkness.
I recently upgraded to an Olympus Stylus 410 4.0 Megapixels, and am SOOOO much happier with it, it comes with a charger!!!
the "cradle"....don't start thinking that this is any sort of dock or something, its more of a "stand" really, it's a cheap plastic square to set the camera in/on, and doesnt really serve any use.
if you need a cheap camera, decent pictures, and rarely take pictures, get this, for everyone else, dont bother.0

Good but not like the Fujifilm 2400
I was given the Fujifilm 2400 as a baby shower gift in 2001. I knew that my beloved Nikon FM was just too slow to keep up with all the baby pictures I wanted to take. The colors & definition was awesome. But the MP's weren't there for great enlargements. So when my husband suggested I upgrade & he use my 2400 I went for it. I liked the Fujifilm enough to go with another one. I got the A210 and was disappointed. The colors & definition just aren't there. I've had it over a year & have yet to have a photo that I want to enlarge more than a 5x7. I find myself using the older 2400 when it's nearby. I do still carry the A210 in my purse all the time & use it very often. But I keep window-shopping for an upgrade. Another Fujifilm?? I'm not sure. I'll keep reading the reviews.

good starter camera
I'm 15 years old and I got this camera a little over a year ago. This was my first digital camera that I had and it's very easy to understand. Now I'm ready for a new camera because the size of the camera is inconvienient and the pause in between pictures/start-up time is very slow. I like to use my camera to be able to capture a moment right away and by the time my camera turns on and is ready to take a picture, it's too late. The quality of the pictures are good except randomly a few pictures will be blurry(even if i wasnt moving the camera around). The flash doesn't reach very far but if the objects close then it works well. If you do get this camera I would recommend buying a battery charger and rechargable batteries. The batteries are more expensive but last a lot longer than normal batteries. The nice thing about having a camera that took AAb batteries was if my batteries would die it was easy to find AA's instead of having to carry around a charger.
Overall I would say this is a good product, but not good for long term.

very disappointed
The A210 worked okay for a year, then as I was taking pictures at my son's 2nd b-day party, the camera began making horizontal bright-white lines across the photos (like looking through venetian blinds). I called Fuji tech support...they said it's been a common problem w/ the FinePix models, but because I was passed the 1-year warranty they would not replace it. I mailed it to Fuji (at my expense - also had pay for insurance) for a repair estimate and they wanted more to fix it than the camera was worth. I will definitely not be replacing this camera w/ another Fuji. Besides the above problem, the time between shots was painfully long. By the time the camera was ready to take another picture, the moment-trying-to-be-captured would be long gone. Buy lots of AA batteries for this camera....you'll need them! I was lucky to get 2 events out of a set of batteries. In talking w/ photographer buffs, Canon seems to be the brand of choice. Hope this helps.

The Fuji digital camera
This camera is easy to afford, offers some cool features like digital zoom and so forth, but it does have some drawbacks especially compared to other digital cameras. It is a bit bulky, not easy to carry. Its MP isn't as large other cameras. It has bit of a delay when it comes to the flash view feature, and can be a bit confusing sometimes, especially to the newcomer. I would recommend spending the extra buck and get something much nicer and complete especially if digital pictures is something you will be taking alot of.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CAMERA
After almost a year and a half, this camera has simply quit working correctly. When I turned it on, it either wouldn't focus at all, making the pictures extremely blurry, or wouldn't let me take pictures. At first, it would only do that sometimes, but it continually got worse, and now it won't work at all. Even while this camera did work, it was very slow at taking pictures, and even after the picture was taken, it took at least 15 seconds to take another picture. It is very bulky, and hard to carry around with you. All in all, i do not recommend this camera for anyone.

Don't waste your money and time..
I bought this camera because I was on a tight budget and thought I was getting a good value for the price. For a few dollars more I could have found a digital camera I would enjoy much more. What I can say in favor of this camera is it works and could be a good starter for a child or teenager. Here's why I strongly recommend NOT choosing this camera:
*It's bulky. Don't bother trying to fit it in your pocket.
*It's poorly contructed. The plastic exterior scratches easily and the coating rubs off after only a few months of use.
*Not user friendly. It's difficult to change options and preferences. Preferences (such as date and time) have to be programed frequently. You cannot take pictures without doing this (each time you turn on the camera).
*Poor flash. The flash is too bright and makes everyone look really pale and washed out- Photoshop can do little to correct this. Removing the flash usually means total blur and/or darkness.
*Unreasonably long delay. Enough said.

look for a better one
The manufacturer's rating of this camera, at >260 frames per battery set with LCD on, is a complete fraud. I have never managed to get more than 15 frames out a freshly charged high-capacity new battery set and I had this camera exhaust the set in just 3 frames. The zoom jumps discontinuously, often preventing one from using an optimal setting.

Good starter camera with battery problems
This was my first digital camera and it served me very well for about two years. At the time I bought it, it was a tremendous deal - 3x optical zoom, 3MP for less than $130 - with macro and movie capability.
About two months ago, it began eating batteries, even when turned off. I notice a number of other people have also had this problem. Now, I can put brand new batteries in it, take 3 or 4 shots, turn it off, and the next day the batteries are dead. When it was new, I could take 10-20 photos, leave the camera for weeks (sometimes months) and then take many more.
On a week-long vacation where I took close to 100 pictures, I used only one set of batteries. Now, a set of batteries usually won't get me through 24 hours, even if I take less than 5 pictures with no flash.
I read about another battery defect in a different Fuji model that was helped by taking out and re-inserting the batteries before putting the camera away but haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Decent Starter Camera
This is a really decent starter camera for people entering the world of digital photography. It does not have the confusing menus of a digital SLR. It's a nice point and shoot with a very decent zoom on it.
Though the resolution is low, and prints shouldn't go any bigger than 9x6 or they will be grainy, this is a great little point and shoot to take with you on vacation, to weddings, or other events.
There are a few adjustment menus that help out a lot and sort of give the feel of an SLR because you have this slight control over the exposure value and the white balance.
As a starter camera, I would recommend this. It's not expensive, it's well made, it's compact, it has a really decent sized memory card (512), and it takes pretty good looking photographs.
I actually used this camera for a photo shoot with a band. This camera took their promo shots, shots for their webpages, and shots for their newly released album.
It is NOT a bad camera, it is a STARTER camera.

Worst camera, EVER!
I've had this brick of a cam for a couple of years, and I have to say it is the worst, most agravating camera I've ever used.
I've missed many "once in a lifetime" shots, and it has just happened again.
As others have said, you install freshly charged batteries, take a couple of shots, and a couple of days later, you miss shots because the batteries are dead.
But even worse, you frantically install new batteries and snap several shots, only to find it hasn't taken a single pic because you didn't set the time and date first!
I wish I'd read these reviews before I bought this lemon.
Do yourself a favor and buy something that really works.

Considering price and quality, this camera is great!
I recieved this camera as a gift about 2 years ago when i just started getting into photography. It's a very easy to use "snapshot camera" because theres not a whole lot of settings to change yet you still can get quality pictures. With the right lighting and atmosphere you can even create photos that look like they were done by professionals. Time and time again people have been amazed that my photos were taken with such a simple camera. I will try to submit some of my photos on amazon.
I also have dropped this camera at least 5 or 6 times and it still continued to work. One time i dropped it and the lens would not retract but this was only because the lens became unaligned. After popping it straight it worked perfectly. Only when the wind took it and caused it to hit some blacktop did i finally have to have the LCD screen replaced because it cracked.
The video quality is at a small resolution but i had no issues with that, only disappointed because there was no sound on it. I did have some issues with the exposure time because you cannot control it. You can only get long exposure on night shots and even then its only about 3 seconds of exposure. Would have been nice to have more control over that but as i said not expected with a snapshot type camera.
Overall i was really impressed with Fujifilm and would recommend a camera like this for those who take a lot of snapshots. As for those getting into photography, its a nice starter camera but it needs an upgrade to open up how creative you can get with it. I just bought a canon S3 IS so we will see how that works out.

Not even good for a beginner
I'm not a photographer. I like to take quick snapshots of the kids, animals, etc. This camera couldn't even do that! It takes SO long to start up, and even longer to actually TAKE a picture. When trying to take a picture of a toddler it's impossible. It MIGHT be an okay camera is you're using it for inanimate objects, but I'm not even sure about that. And don't even try to take a picture in anything but perfect lighting. The pictures are unrecognizable.
My advice... by any other camera than this one. I can't imagine it would be any worse.

Older technology, but usable.
I have used my Fugifilm A210 for two years now, here are some observations.
It is a much better camera than my first digital (1.3 MP Olympus).
The 16 MB memory is not enough, but 1 GB memory can be had for $30. I have found that 256MB is plenty.
It does take a while to store pictures and calculate focus and exposure, so I have lost oportunities for good shots because of this, but I have still captured crisp, colorful images.
I recommend you always carry spare batteries, but at least AA batteries are cheap and can be found anywhere.
My A210 has survived trips from the boundary waters (MN) to the summit of Mt. Fuji (Japan).
All that said, today (March 2007) you can find many better cameras for about $100. I just placed an order for a Fujifilm V10 for $125. It promises to provide better performance in a pocket size package.
If you don't mind carrying a bigger camera, my choice would be a Canon Rebel XP. This camera has fine optics and Canon's Digic II chip allows rapid fire shooting. For the street price of $575 this is a good value.

Today This Camera Meets My Hammer
I put fresh rechargable batteries into this camera Christmas Eve, then didn't use it. The next day, the red battery light was on when I tried the first photo. Of course, waiting for the camera to green light you for a photo takes at least 7 seconds -- no joke -- which burns battery and wastes many an opportunity. Even at lower resolutions, reload is a huge problem -- downloading the photos to disk to empty the card is no help. I took one photo at Christmas because I didn't bring spare batteries. If you didn't know better, you would think this camera was made at the dawn of digital technology, and you were the caveman that got suckered into buying it.
I rarely get a good photo out of this camera, and I used to enjoy a rep as the reliable family photographer -- no more. The zoom is useless as it moves by gigantic distances and can't be backed up in any smaller increment. It makes a noise like its moving, but I think it has two settings; close and closer -- nothing in between.
There is simply nothing about this camera worth your time. Its so painful to use, you never do and might as well not own a camera. Its also pretty massive and makes you look like a tourist ready to get robbed wherever you take it.

SLOW,SLOWER, MISSED A SHOT, NO PICTURE TAKEN
Bought this camera at the recommendation of the service rep at Walmart for an inexpensive easy to use camera for my wife.
Only good for still shots,
slow to start
slower to reset 2nd picture
missed a shot its so slow
sometime never reset (Battery eater)thus no pictures at all
Quality of picture is OK, but that only happens when you can actually take one.
Horrible frustrating camera that both my wife and I hate to use - getting a new camera, just not a fuji

Rated 5 stars for Ebay pictures!
I've had this camera since 2004 - I have newer ones I use for important pictures, but you cannot beat this camera for taking Ebay auction pictures. It's even better than my new Panasonic TZ4 for auction listings.
