I had an old Fuji 3.2 MP that took great pictures but was big and had a delay when you snapped the picture that made it difficult to take fast action shots, good for portrait type shots though.

I wanted a subcompact with better responsiveness and same or better quality. I bought the Casio Exilim Z60. It has a ton of features and is the thinnest on the market. At 6 MP I thought it would have all the quality of my old Fuji, but I was wrong. The pictures were grainy, even with some of the mid level ISO ranges. Anti shake did not make a big difference and the high ISO settings useless.

It was hard to find reviews for the F650, since it is reletively new. I found a few and decided to try it, since I had good luck with Fuji.

This camera only goes up to 400 ISO and does not have a lot of advanced features, but does not need them. The QUALITY of the sensor and the lense are fantastic. There is no distortion or barrelling at the edges of the picture like the Casio.

The 5x zoom is very usefull, and I noticed it pans out a little further than the Casio.

The pictures are gorgeous. The colors are better, there is better depth, and the graininess is gone. You can actually zoom and crop.

PROS: 5x zoom, great quality shots, 3" LCD, simple to use
CONS: Large but pocketable subcompact, design not as sexy as Exilim, XD cards not as cheap as others

This is my first digital camera, so I've let my friends make the learning mistakes. This camera has everything I need, nothing too fancy and takes great pictures. This camera is easy to use, lightweight, and the 3in screen is a show stopper! No complaints, although I was a bit nervous because the screen is a bit grainy, but the actual pictures are NOT! The price was RIGHT on amazon, you can't get a 3MP for this much at any big box store. I just wanted to leave my praise because I rely on feedback myself.

I bought this model because I had good luck with my Finepix 2600, but thought it time to update. I did look at all available models. I definately wanted something smaller in physical size than the 2600 and made that one of my criteria.
I was also drawn to Sony because of their great viewfinder display.I checked them both out at one of the big box stores and decided that the F650 with it's 3" display & 5x optical zoom was better for the money and I bought it.
I have tried all the features and everything works fine. In fact, I don't know how they pack so many features into such a small unit (besides movies and zoom, they have continuous pictures, settings for lens apperature and speed like professional models and best of all they have several special settings depending on the enviorment - sunsets, sports, etc.).
Viewer is clear, even in bright sun. The manual explains everything clearly with a lot of pictures and from my experience with the F2600, Fuji Customer service is good
All in all, it's a great camerafor the money.

I always like Fuji cameras because of its optics. The images are always sharp with lots of depth. Fuji cameras are responsive -- the shutter lag is usually very low.

This little camera is great for the money -- 5X zoom, some creative controls (Aperture and Shutter priority exposures), and the huge 3" screen is a show stopper. I am surprised why this camera is not as popular as it should be. Maybe it is theuse of proprietary battery (NP-40, which you can get a third party spare for about $15), the xD card (which is not as cheap as SD cards), and lack of viewfinder (I have not use a viewfinder ever since I went digital in 1999).
Overall, I like the camera the a lot.

I have used this camera for a month now and I love it. I bought it since I got tired of squinting at the 1.5" lcd of my current camera. Pros: the 3" LCD is big, clear and bright, the battery charges up quickly, hinged door for USB connector (not a rubber flap), and I can get good photos in low light. Cons (minor): It's a little non-intuitive to have to press the shutter halfway to switch from photo-viewing mode to photo-taking mode, & the bundled FinePix software sometimes hangs on win XP.

Things to note: a) the LCD can scratch easily, so buy an LCD protector (available on Amazon). I did, and cut the protector film to leave 1/8" on each side of the screen before sticking it on. b) You'll also need a spare battery when traveling, since cameras with large LCDs, such as this, dont use AA batteries. c) On initial charging, the red LED on the charger takes a few minutes to light up, creating the [mistaken] impression that the charger is DOA. On subsequent charges, the LED lights up right away.

I am THRILLED with my new camera, which I've been using for the past few weeks now! (I'm only going to cover the highlights of this little gem, and respond to erroneous critiques that I've read.)

I have the Fuji Finepix 3500 also, which is a semi-pro camera with multiple lens, that I absolutely love. But since it's now 2 years old it only has 3M pixs (not that that makes any difference for those of us who are not taking pro pictures)and I found this camera (various settings all the way up to 6.2M pixels) on sale for $179. I went for it because I wanted a pocket/purse camera (the 3500 is like a 35mm Nikon in size)that didn't weigh a lot - it weighs only 0.7 oz with the battery & xD card on board. 4"L x 2.5"H x 1"D. The lens retracts when it's off, so it's very compact.

I was intrigued with the fact that with this camera I could take up to 9 min sound videos (only 1 minutes on the 3500) and it still had all the shooting modes for portrait, landscape, sports, night, fireworks, sunset, snow, beach, museum (no sounds and flash suppressed), and party!! That's twice as many as my other camera. It also does most of the things that the bigger camera does, and number of things my other camera doesn't do. It has a THREE inch viewing screen. This is SO great for those of us who now require reading glasses. I can actually manage without them :)

It also has 32MB of memory on board! So if you're xD card runs out, it will carry the rest in the camera. Or if you're not taking huge amounts of pics or going to use the video for more than a minute or two, you can go without the xD card (16MB comes with it). I use a 512MB because then I do longer videos and have hundreds of pictures when I'm travelling.

Some have complained in reviews that it doesn't take good low light pictures. Well, I took pics of my Christmas tree under candle light with flash suppressed that came out fantastically! Taking the same shot with the flash on but no other lights in the room, it came out like daylight! I took several videos indoors under ambient light and the pictures were fabulous and the sound really fine.

Another complaint was that it only goes to ISO 400. Now how many users even know what that means, and for those of us that do, how many are actually going to need anything beyond that? Who wants to be lugging a tripod around. Rather defeats the purpose of a pocket camera, don't you think? It has several ISO settings, 7 settings for white balance including "automatic", and you can set it to "continuous" so that you can shoot quickly with a 1.2 second recovery, numerous exposure (appeture) settings. Shooting distances from 4 inches to infinity. It has a self-timer and plenty of manual control for those who enjoy nature shots and close-ups -- and I'm only ten pages in on a small but thick manual!
You can download to computer or directly to printer (it has Picbridge). Or you can put the xD card in any electronic device that will accept it to transfer the pictures, or print them, that way.

The other complaint I read was that it doesn't delete all pictures at once, but only one at a time. YES, YOU CAN. You just push the little menu button on the back instead of pressing the < > arrows (which do them individually) and presto, it prompts to erase all. You can also format the xD card by going to Setup, go to the second Setup icon and scan down to Format.

You can also see all your photos at once in thumbnail format! It will sort by date also. You can also do various editing while in playback format.

As with my other Fuji, this camera has so many functions, that I will never use them all! The battery, I understand lasts a long time (set it in "powersaver" mode when you setup the camera). I also use the AC adaptor from my other camera, which of course works with this one, when I'm downloading or doing any lengthy functions because then you're not depleting the battery. I'm also going to buy an additional battery to have on hand.

The camera comes with the USB cord, AV cable to plub directly into a monitor, Li-ion battery, battery charger, 16MB xD card, wrist strap, Fuji Finepix software, and a thick, easy to read manual -- the AC adaptor is additional.

Bottom line -- the complaints I've read are all not true and seem to be stemming from not bothering to read the manual. EVERYONE NEEDS TO AT LEAST SCAN THE MANUAL.

For those of you who want a camera with ease of use, a lot of potential (more than 95% of us will ever use), that takes great pictures and videos, is small and light weight, then this your camera.

I already owned a Fuji camera but it was 2MP. I wanted something better without spending a small fortune. I really like this camera as it is easy to use and has taken some great pictures. The LCD screen is large enough that I don't have to wear my glasses to make out images. The camera has many options to choose from so that you can make the choice of how the picture will turn out. It is easy to review and delete bad frames. I have several conventional cameras but have become addicted to just using this camera because of the ease and instant results.

Realy, I orderd the product, instead what I got was a stupid Box for underwater use. If I don't have the camera what would I do with the
water tight box. Isn't that silly. I mean think about it logically,
if you want to take pictures, first of all you have to have a camera.
Then if you are brave enough to go underwater and stay there for a while,
and have this inexplicable urge to take pictures, then I can see why I would need this multi colord fancy zancy box. But for me, seriousely, I have enough problem breathing underwater, let alone take pictures!!!!

This camera fits the bill perfectly if you are looking for a small camera with a great optical zoom and easy to use features. Plus it has a huge screen to view your pictures. Only thing lacking is a viewfinder, which you would seldom use anyway. It takes nice clear photos and easily fits into your pocket. The best feature is the 5x zoom which is most powerful in this size camera that I could find. I highly recommend this camera.

Having only seen this camera in one store, I was a little unsure about choosing this camera as a replacement for my SLR, but after using it over the holidays, I was very impressed! The menus were very easy to get to as well as make changes on the fly. This is definitely an excellent buy for the money.

No viewfinder option which is handy in bright daylight.

My Fuji 4440 was far smaller, far faster and far easier to use.

I'm not a high tech wizard, just a regular guy who wants to take pictures. This camera is excellent. I love the large display and 5x zoom. My kids use it too, and the pictures come out great. The same features cost $100 more on any other brand. I highly recommend this camera.

I bought this camera just before I took a week long trip where I would not be able to download photos. So, I bought a Fuji 2GB XD memory card for it as well as an extra battery. I took hundreds of photos and only had to change the battery once! Also, bought a cool little USB XD card reader that makes it easy to download photos to any computer without having to hook up the camera. I love this camera. It is easy to use with little reading of the manual, takes great photos & fits in my pocket. Only thing I would like to have is a small camera case made just for this model. Haven't found one yet.

The Fujifilm FinePix F650 is an excellent camera. It has a large, 3 inches, viewing screen which makes it easy to capture the right photograph. It also has a good amount of megapixels and a long range of optical zoom.

Big 3" screen. Menu selections not complicated. Screen scene modes really make the pictures. Not difficult to learn how to make professional-looking pictures. All buttons easy access while holding in your hand.

I wanted to upgrade my Toshiba PDR for a while now, and searched through the internet for the perfect camera at the right price. I wanted a camera that took nice clear pictures and was dependable. Well I found that camera. You will not be disappointed with this camera, it has a nice bright 3" LCD, 5x Zoom, and most important of all takes crystal clear pictures. The cons to this camera is it is not a slim pocket camera, it cannot zoom when you are taking videos, and it does not have all the features that the Canon SD600. But if you are like me and just want a reiable camera that takes great pictures and has a substantial amount of features than this is the camera for you! I was hard pressed against the Canon SD600 or this one, for a hundred dollars cheaper I am glad I chose this one.

What more can be said in favor of the rapid obsolescence of technology than that you can get something like this for a couple hundred bucks? I used to have a 3.2 MP camera and was told that it was unsuitable for a piece I was trying to submit which made me go out and charge up this one. After taking my first few pictures I had eureka moment after eureka moment. I felt as if I were looking at slides produced by my old Nikon model from the mid-nineties. There isn't much that is "digital" about this photography apart from its ease of use. The back screen is quite impressive and it satisfies everyone who can't wait to see the shot that you just took. The display is certainly an added advantage of the model; although, the price is what brought me to it in the first place and my bank account is pleased with my decision.

I just got the F650 to replace my Olympus F-110. Being a senior, I needed something with a larger viewing screen. This fills the bill. Easy to use and takes great pictures. On a negative note, had to call Fuji for help when I started to download my first batch of photos. Was having a problem with the program not populating. Glad I bought the AC5V power adapter, which they recommend, but only state you could lose your pictures if the battery dies. Unknowingly, the problem was the battery was low. However, the manual does not tell you that even though you connect using the power adapter, it does not by-pass the battery. I removed the battery an there it was, ready to download. Recommend people get a power adapter and when connecting to the PC, remove the battery and your set to go.... Bottom line, this is a great camera I bought online for $150....

I wanted to replace my Fuji E550 and this was a logical choice. I wanted to be able to use my XD picture cards. After reading all the reviews I opted to get it and I'm not disappointed. I love the 3" screen on the back and the menu is very easy for me to follow since it is similar to my old one. I am anxious to try all the new setttings that my old one never had like fireworks, sunset, and beach. I think you'll be very happy with this camera!

Amazon mistakenly sent an underwater housing instead of the camera. In the mean time I ordered a different camera (Canon SD700 IS). I returned this camera using downloaded UPS return labels and was refunded the entire amount I had paid since this was Amazon's mistake. Kudos to Amazon!!

This camera is great! I've had other Fuji cameras but so far, this one works wonders for me. It has a huge 3" LCD and if you have a 1gb or 2gb XD card, you can fit few movies and hundreds of pictures! Get one, you won't regret it!

This is my first digital camera. I chose it largely based on reviews I read here. I compared it to other reviews I read here for this price range. I've used it for over a month now and so far I'm very pleased with it. I find it pretty easy to understand and use. Pictures come out very well on the automatic or optional settings. I've gotten a memory card for it now, but could get 22-23 pictures on the internal memory. Thanks Ron.

I bought this camera because of the large LCD. In general, I am pretty happy with the F650, and the price was right. It takes great pictures with very little lag between shots which is a big improvement from my last camera. I purchased an xD card at Circuit City, they only sold Olympus cards and I figured the brand didn't matter. I found that about 50% of the shots saved to the xD card were corrupted and garbled. So, while on vacation I bought another xD card, this time a Fuji brand, and it's been working fine ever since. I don't know if I just got a bad card or if you must use a Fuji card in a Fuji camera.

The only other thing I don't care for is that it's not ergonomic and I always feel like I (or someone else holding it) will drop it. I use the wrist strap every time I pick it up.

I love this camera so very much. The price was excellent. This is everthing I every wanted in a digital camera. I have had two digital cameras in the pass and both were plastic and both doors where the battery and memory card goes broke, which made the camera unoperable. I would recommend this camera to everyone.

I bought this camera to replace another Fuji that I bought 3 years ago (which was an amazing workhorse of a camera until I dropped it one too many times...). After much research, I chose this one because I was happy with Fuji, already had a great xD card, and this looked like it would fill the order.
Did it ever! First assignment? A family trip to Disney. After one read-through of the manual, I felt comfortable using it for action, low-light, no flash, and fireworks pictures, and they all turned out beautifully. Downloading the pics was quick and easy. The display is HUGE. Battery life had been a concern for me, and I was really happy, although I will be purchasing an extra battery for my personal satisfaction. In a variety of light, zoom, and flash conditions, my camera took approx 120 pics at 2 megapixels before the battery became a concern. I took many more on days where outdoor photos did not require my flash.
I love being able to do some basic editing right on the camera, such as picture rotation and digital zoom. Being a busy mom, it saves time. I'm looking forward to discovering even more as summer requires more pictures, but consider this average picture-taking mom completely satisfied!

I gave the Fujifilm FinePix F650 MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom to my granddaughter for Christmas. She loves the camera very much and uses it a lot! J. Hall

We love this camera. It's small, easy to use, has a big LCD screen and takes great pictures. Fuji has always been a great product and this one is no exception!

I recently was looking for a replacement as I dropped my Canon and I stumbled onto this cam as Best Buy had it on sale for 99.00.
I was skeptical with what I would get for a 6 meg cam for under 99.00 but it has absolutely knocked my socks off!
The 3" LCD screen has really impressed me and the ease of use with the whole camera is remarkable. Even down to the software level it's outstanding... I hardly ever use software that comes with these types of things but I did on this and am very happy that I did.
The one thing that I wish came with the camera is at least one of the vinyl-like screen protectors as I had to buy a whole package of these to protect the screen otherwise it would certainly get scratched up very easily.
An exceptional camera for what I needed, lots of pictures taken outside of my kids and pets and also some ebay pics.

This camera is my second Fuji Finepix, I have had a different model for over three years now. I am very pleased with the camera, especially the size, and quality of pictures. Highly recommend...great product for the price.

Originally bought the Fuji F10, which I loved. The card to was to small to shoot video, but it took great pictures, especially in the Natural Light setting. Decided to get upgrade because my daughter coveted my old camera, and the F650 had greater zoom and screen size. Also bought the 2GB card, which allowed me to shoot more than 30 min of Video.

The downside of the purchase was that the F650 lacked Natural light setting, and the battery was 25% weaker than the F10 battery. On vacation, I loaded the bigger memory card into the F10 and used the F650 as a back-up.

If you buy this camera, be sure to buy extra batteries, some non-Fuji brands have a greater battery life (Power 2000 available on Amazon). Or, buy an F10 if you can find one, or try the F20.

The colors on the FinePix F650 are amazing! It's user friendly so you don't have to worry about messing with settings too much. It takes video with sound and really good playback at 30 frames per second. If you want a camera that can do it all, this is your pick.

I bought the F650 as an upgrade to my Fuji 3 mega camera. The pictures to date have been very good, the number of settings will keep you busy as you use the camera and being compact is also a plus.

My big issue is the reflection I am getting when trying to take pictures on a very sunny day. I seem to be looking at myself in the screen and not seeing the object that I am trying to take a picture of. This has occurred twice, once at an "air show" and last week while I was vacationing in Las Vegas.

If anyone has a solution please contact me. I have already contacted Fuji and the representative told me I was the first to have this issue. I find that hard to believe.

we got this camera around mother's day a few months ago and it is absolutely amazing. the large screen makes it alot easier to see your pictures. it has an amazing flash that i can take pictures in the dark as if i was in daylight. the best setting is auto, and its never blurry, you can even take pictures with it when your in the car and get a perfect still image. its a good choice all around and i strongly recommend it.

What's not to love? A big, bright, crisp display that everyone ooohs and ahhhs over, a 5x zoom, and a 6 megapixel CCD -- more than enough pixels for excellent enlargements. The long-life battery recharges quickly, a 1 MB xD memory card stores up to 18 minutes of video or 700 photos at high resolution, and the cables allow you to connect it either to your computer or your television for slide shows and video playback. Its many shooting modes include super macro, and the lens' superior optics produce beautiful pictures with sparkling color. This camera is lightweight, compact, well-designed, just the thing for both novice and experienced photographers. And all of these features come at a low price, one that's even lower than Amazon's at most local retail outlets. I'm very happy with my purchase and recommend it wholeheartedly.

The camera is fine as long as nothing goes wrong. Fuji has the worst customer service I have ever delt with. They pass you from one person to another and do everything they can not to help you. Be prepared to deal with the worst customer service in the business. I really hope this helps you.

This camera is great. I had to buy it online because it is too old to be in the stores (you know, after a month they revamp all their technology). I had an Olympus Stylus 600, but was jealous of my friend's camera (this Fuji F650) on a recent vacation. It's got a HUGE screen and the zoom is way better than most cameras on the market (most cameras have a 3.0 zoom, this one has a 5.0 zoom). It's a little bigger than some of the other cameras out there on the market, but can't say that has made a difference to me.

I have purchased other cameras before however this out performs all that i have. A must buy...

I bought the Fuji 3800 3.2 MP back in 2003 and it's a wonderful camera that has served me well. Prior to my recent trip to Cancun, I was looking for a smaller digital camera that wouldn't take up as much space in my beach bag so I began researching compacts. I narrowed my search down to the Fuji FinePix F650 and Sony's DSC-T300.

I purchased the Sony because of its sleek styling, ultra compact size, 5x optical zoom and 3.5" touchable LCD screen. Everything was going great - until I printed out the pictures. They were grainy with orange/yellow casts showing on most. There were a gazillion fancy-schmancy settings to learn and I kept getting fingerprints all over the LCD screen which takes up the entire back of the camera. So I took the camera back (ate the restocking fee) and purchased the Fuji F650 from Amazon. This camera is a little larger than the Sony, 6.0 MP instead of 10, 3" LCD screen instead of 3.5, 5x optical zoom; but the bottom line is that it takes great pictures! It's an older model that still holds up today. I took over 100 pics in Cancun and 5 movies. The movies came out great and exceeded my expectations. The lithium battery only had to be recharged once during my 7-day stay so the battery life was very good (considering I carried the camera around and snapped away each day). There are various settings (I haven't even tapped into all of them yet), but they're a bit easier to follow after scanning the small product manual. Needless to say, I'm glad I returned the Sony and opted for the Fujifilm.

So if you're looking for function and value during these times of high food and gas prices, this is a fantastic little find for just under $200 (the Sony was just under $400). It's a great small camera for trips and basic needs at a price that won't break the bank.

The great 5x optical zoom makes this camera an awesome buy. The picture clarity is great. The 5x lens makes this camera a little bit bigger than other compact cameras, but it is a great balance between convenience and picture quality. The only downside is the battery life. I am planning on buying a second battery for those long days at Disney with the kids.

This is my fifth digital camera. I always carried the user manual with the previous cameras for on site reference. The F650 is very inituitve to use, all the information is available on the big 3 inch display, so I need not carry the manual with me. The camera takes great pictures and super video. The playback audio is great. The camera so compact that I can carry it in my pants pocket The 5X zoom lens is amazing. The battery has plenty of capacity for a day of shooting and the spare battery I have takes up very little space. The only negative aspect is lack of lens protection. It looks fragile and in it's parked position I am very aware of the fact it is exposed to damage. Best camera for under $100.
