Great ProductI really liked the games that came with it. The picture quality is spactacular.
|
Great buy!I just bought this amazing camera today, played with it WHOLE day and the result was SUPERB! It has a large 3 inch LCD that is bright and clear! Picture quality is the most impressive part that the Fuji has improved their color in general but especially on skin tones. Addition to their "Real Photo Technology", it has a function that takes two pictures at once, one with natural light, one with flash! This is quiet useful! This camera IS easy to use, has fun games, nice design! You won't be disappointed!

Perfect Little CameraI bought this camera for an upcoming vacation, and I'm very pleased with it so far. The price was a little more than what I wanted to spend ($320), but for a 3" LCD there's no better deal on the market right now.
Pros: --Attractive camera that's slim enough to fit in a big pocket or small purse. --3" LCD is stylish and will impress all your friends. Seems pretty strach-resistant. --Super fast start-up time. Its literally about a second. --Pictures are clear and beautiful! --Rechargable Li-ion battery means you won't fly through expensive AA batteries. --Menu options for flash, picture quality, ISO, self-timer are very intuitive. --In particular, there is a great flash setting takes two consecutive images for each picture; one is the pic with flash, the other is without. You can go back later to decide which picture looks better Cons: --When you're using the LCD viewfinder the picture always looks grainy, but the pictures are perfect on playback so it don't really matter. --If you're comfortable using only the optical viewfinder, like I was, using the LCD alone can be an adjustment. --Menu options for more advanced manual features like white balance are not as clear and accessible as they could be --3.4x optical zoom is good, but not great Summary: This is the camera I love to keep in my purse for those moments I never anticiapate needing a camera for. You can whip it out, turn it on in a second, use the huge LCD to find the image you want to take and snap. At the most you might spend a few extra seconds changing the settings. While this camera is perfect for me, its not for everyone. If your priorities are an optical viewfinder, powerful zoom, or great manual controls consider something else. |
perfect for meThis is the first digi cam I have bought for myself and am very happy with it. I agree with the C. Mcleods review and here are my specific pros and cons. If you need more specs on the camera www.fujifilm.com has an awsome list of its specific features.
Pros: -The camera is cute, compact, and takes nice pictures. -The basic picture options are easy to use and change before taking photos. -I love the macro mode. I hear it is a fuji thing though. -The screen is 3" and the camera is just overall easy to use. -can take up to 13 minutes of video at once cons: -no optical viewfinder (but after a day and a half and I dont even notice it any more) -battery takes 2 hours to charge (unless you want to buy an optional rapid charger *note the "rapid" chargers time. some only decrease your wait time by 30 min) -you have to buy an xd card (like most digital cameras it only comes wiht 16 MB card) -While the games might keep one busy while exteremly board they aren't too entertaining. So dont buy soley on the games. |
Poor picture qualityPicture quality poor compared to 5mp Pentax I had. Also have had problem with the lens cover not opening all the way when I turn it on.
|
Returned itI was really disappointed with this. We bought it to replace a 4yr old Olympus, mainly because it was supposed to be so good in low light situations. However, while it had more natural flesh tones than the Olympus, we didn't think the low light was much of an improvement. We tried the mode where it shoots one pic w/out a flash and then immmediately takes one with a flash, mainly doing so in rooms at night in various levels of light. Then we took shots from the same angle with the Olympus. Other than better flesh tones, we saw no real improvement over the old olympus. The pix taken without the flash were nearly always blurry, and even when not they almost always looked better w/the flash anyway.
The LCD finder was pretty cool, and the menus were fairly easy to use (the software I didn't like), and I don't want to dissuade people from buying a perfectly acceptable camera. But it is not the low light champion that some Fuji fans would have you believe. |
Is this the best take out camera ?This camera seems like it is exactly what i'm looking for. I want a small, light, sturdy, high quality camera this is made for going anywhere. I have larger cam with a 10x optical zoom which is fine for 'photography' but i want something for taking high quality quick snaps at the beach, boardwalk, pool, at the bar, or people pics at sporting events.. ;) I see it has quick bootup and low lag but does it do well in low light conditions that you would find in bars? How well does it do with motion if the camera is moving while you snap the pic? Is this the best camera for these conditions?
Please tell me what camera you would recommend i buy.. email me greg_88888@yahoo.com Would also like see some of your pics if you would like to attach. |
A Great camera for the priceI liked it because of the design and the 3" screen first of all. After I got it and played with it a few days I got used to there being virtually no thumb space and the grainy look of the screen. But when you get used to the camera and that the pictures come out fine when you view them, you'll love the camera.

I like this camera.I am going to tell you that this camera is very nice. The picture quality is good up close but the distance picture are not that great. All 3 times opitcal cameras are bad in my opinion. Anything 6 optical and above takes a great picture.
I like this camera and all the features. The size is great and the LCD screen is PHAT. Great. One thing though...out side in full sun, the LCD screen is hard to see. Inside ...beautiful. The videos are ok. Grainy. Outside videos are good to great. Just indoors is funny. Great sound. The video games are fun. I love that option. The functions on this camera are great. THe response of this camera are teriffic! The zoom is so quick and the start up is just a fast. I do not like the charging cable too much. It is combersome. No charging dock. The little covers for the holes to the power and usb are very flimsy. You have to be gentle and careful. They just are hanigng be a thread, persay. I would look into a battery charger so you don't have to keep plugging the camera into the cable charger. It takes a NP40 size battery. But...that is ok. It's not that bad. I just have to remember to be gentle. But I still like the camera...Thank you. PS...I bet you will never find the perfect point and shhot pocket digital camera. All of them have faults and problems with picture quality. I give up looking. What needs to improve is the light and the optical zoom. Opitcal zoom is so important. Mega pixels have come a long way but its still no good without having a great optical zoom. |
More than I expectedThis is a great camera for those who are not too tech savvy. I just took it on a vacation and came home with some great photos!
Several people who saw me using it, inquired about the BIG screen and the camera's ease of use. Have never considered myself a salesperson, but raved about it everywhere I went! |
Exactly what I was looking for!CONS:
The quality of the pics can be a little better. PROS: Everything. I've had this camera for like 3 months now. I'm in love with the 3" LCD, and to be honest, that is the main reason I bought it. What I didn't know when I bought it, was that the LCD screen is specially reinforced so that it wont break if it is hit. I always keep it in my jeans pocket and no scratches yet...amazing. The picture quality is pretty good, other 5MP cameras have better quality in my opinion though. This is the perfect camera for someone who is not a professional photographer; someone who just likes to go out and take pictures. Your friends will love it when they can look at the pictures you took and see them very clearly on the screen. The layout of the buttons is perfect. I've used other cameras that are confusing and hard to figure out. This one probably took me about 10 seconds to figure out. The games are pretty cool. The battery holds a charge for a good amount of time. The videos are great quality. Important!! YOU NEED ATLEAST A 256MB MEMORY CARD (in my opinion) At the highest quality you will barely get any pics with the standard memory card. I bought a 1GB memory card and now I can't stop using the camera. You will love it! |
Fun first cameraI always wanted a camera, but my parents never let me have one, even for a photography class. So i finally saved money and got one. I love it. In the classic college student style i didn't read the manual and found everything just fine. I thought that i would mis not looking through the little window, but it's not a problem. Works well and i love the natural and more muted light options.

Fuji Finepix Digital CameraThis was a present for our 13 year old daughter [ who is in love with photography ].
The shutter speed allows her to take pictures of friends in motion [dancing, skiing and other sporting events] Amazing window on back for best picture view; love the orange color - different than others on the market. |
Another excellent choice from FujiI just got this yesterday from Amazon. I got the orange model because it just looks so stylish (in picture and, indeed, in person). This is to be my backup compact camera, when I don't have my beloved Fujifilm Finepix F30 6MP camera with me. (Compared to the F30, the V10 is taller but thinner and shorter. They weigh about the same, I think.)
Here're my initial impressions: PICTURE QUALITY: very good outdoors during the day, and average/above-average indoors. Fujifilm (aka Fuji) has produced a line of compact cameras, starting with the F10, renowned for their low-light, high-ISO performance. (ISO refers to the camera's sensitivity to light; the higher the ISO is, the less light the camera requires in order to capture an image with enough brightness and contrast.) The F30, my workhorse, is just superb in low-light conditions, pretty much rivaling (or even besting) my digital SLR, the Nikon D70. The V10 uses a slightly older sensor than the F30 -- in fact, the V10's sensor and "Real Photo" processor are the same as the discontinued F10. This means two things: 1) When there's enough light, the V10 turns in excellent-looking pictures; 2) When the light is dim, the V10 cannot match the image quality of the F30. In fact, it seems to be slightly worse than the F10 in capturing low-light images. But compared to most other compact digital cameras, even those from Canon and Nikon, the V10 does a quite respectable job. For example, if you use the V10 to capture a candlelight moment, the image won't steal your heart, but it'll make a nice memorable photo, provided you have steady hands or use a tripod. VIDEO QUALITY: 640x320 (VGA) or 320x240 (QVGA) with sound. Recorded in AVI format which is great for mobile playback as almost all mobile video devices can support AVI. You cannot zoom during shooting (reason: zooming produces horrendous-sounding motor noise which could be amplified by the movie mode, hence Fujifilm disabled zooming during movie shooting). Very good video quality when played back on a PC or TV (in the VGA mode). USABILITY: very fast, very responsive. The V10 also uses the same interface as other Fujifilm compacts, so if you've used a Fuji before, you'll be right at home with this one (except perhaps with the placement of the buttons). People switching from other brands will face an easy learning curve. The buttons are small but responsive. The gigantic 3.0" LCD viewfinder is very bright and high-resolution (230,000 pixels). It's also very fast, meaning you'll see scenes in real-time as you shoot pictuers or video. GAMES: the only camera on the market to offer games! You get four of them. Quite entertaining, and the graphics of the games looks really great on the 3-inch LCD screen. The controls, however, are a bit awkward due to shape and placement of the four-way controller. If you have nimble fingers you'll get used to the controls fairly quick. I love the games. BATTERY: don't know yet as I haven't run it through a torture test. Rated at 170 pictures according to the Japanese CIPA standard. My F30 is rated at 550 but I took over 500 shots plus loads of movies on one charge last time. STYLING: not as thin as those crazy Sony or Casio models. (BTW I love Sony and Casio cameras, too. Canon and Panasonic also make great compact digital cameras - Panasonic ones have great image stabilization. I'm not hot on Nikon or Kodak or Minolta or Pentax, and to me HP cameras are too ugly. Won't even consider any other brands.) The orange color looks delicious. Overall styling is eye-catching, esp. that huge 3" LCD... In summary, I think I like this Fuji a lot. It won't replace my F30 for important family photos, but it'll make a great tote-in-the-biker bag/handbag camera for everyday photo opportunities. PS: I should mention this. Fujifilm is a huge sponsor of the conservation of giant pandas and other endangered specifies. I end up buying only Fuji cameras these days both because of their excellent quality and their generosity toward conservation efforts. Thank you, Fujifilm. PPS: My unit is "made in Japan." When I first turned it on yesterday there was what looked like a green dead pixel on the LCD, but it magically disappeared after an hour or two, so now the LCD looks perfect and defect-free. |
NiceI bought this camera on a recent trip to Japan. Its probably the most attractive camera currently available at any price. This is mainly because of its good looks, quality materials (it seems to be all metal) and 3 inch screen.
- The image quality seems to be about average for a budget camera. Dont expect too much in this area. From my experience, it seems to take excellent daylight photos. Indoor photos with flash are good to average. - Movie quality is average but takes huge amounts of memory. Best to avoid using it. - The screen is clear and displays photos nicely. - The included games are pretty fun and make use of the big screen. - The menus are well laid out and easy to navigate. - It uses XD memory cards. For most people this is a negative because most PDA's and other cameras use SD cards. Most importantly, XD cards are a tad more expensive than SD cards. I bought a 256mb card which quickly filled up. I wish i bought 512mb. One feature that i have found useful is the voice notes. You can select a photo and attach a 30 second voice note to it. The audio quality is very good too. It takes about 400kb of memory to use this feature. If your after a reasonably priced camera that is refined and well built then get this one. PS: One plus about this camera is that its made in Japan. Most budget ones are now made in China and feel cheap by comparison (plasticky and ugly). PS2: Be prepared for people to compliment your camera wherever you go! PS3: Yes i really have the orange colour. |
Perfect on the run camera.Bought this camera for my son for Christmas and loved it so much I just ordered the orange one for myself. The color reminded me of Hermes. LOL!!
As with most Fuji cameras it picks up such nice color. It is about the size of a cigarette pack so it fits nicely in your pocket or purse. Games are a plus if your into them while sitting in the airport. So far the only setback is that when zooming in distance it produces a grainy picture, but I knew that before I placed the order on the second one so that should not be s deterant if you are looking for a fun, simple, portable camera. |
Neat, compact, and has a BIG LCD.I'll admit, I bought this camera as a gift because of the price. If what you're looking for is a moderately priced 5MP camera with a mammoth 3" LCD, this camera is for you. It has the basic feature set, including a zoom over 3X and low-light shooting, but also includes neat features like the "double-shot" for low light situations. The camera will take two consecutive pictures: one with flash, the other without. This handy feature solves those questionable lighting situations where you aren't sure if you're going to light up your friend's face like the Fourth of July and have a washed out black backgroud if you flash. It'll take it both ways, and let you decide which came out better. From a value standpoint, it's great. Add to the fore-mentioned a sturdy camera body (not plasticy like others at the price) and a lithium battery for $160 and I almost want to say "what more do you want?".
However, it is important to note the downsides. The LCD doesn't pick up light very well. Though your picture may look fine once you've flashed, it looks grainy and washed out on the LCD when lining up your picture. Also, if you're in a low light situation and are attempting to zoom, be prepared to wait for the camera to stutter it's way through the auto focus. It otherwise takes quick, crisp pictures, but this was a noticeable shortcoming. Other quirks I noticed were that the battery is not shaped to go in one way, so it is possible to put it in the wrong way if you're not paying attention. Also, your stance on XD media may or may not play into your decision. I personally think it is fine, and doesn't really cost much more than other types of media. The camera comes packaged with a USB cable, and picture transfer is quick and easy. Overall, I certainly recommend this camera. It is one of the best values out there. |
Great little camera! A very solid purchase! If you travel alot, just like to take pictures, the families designated photographer and cameraman, or just even some one with an artistic eye like myself this camera is definately for you.
This is a very solid buy for anyone looking for a good mid-level camera. Perfect for people who take lots of photos, ranging from snap shots to high quality memories and everything in between. More than enough for an average guy like myself, but not quite everything an avid photographer would need. I bought the Fujifilm FinePix v10 in mid October of '06. I put it through 3 months and 4 holidays worth of use, paces and light abuse, and now I feel confident enough to write a review about it. I'm so satisfied it's hard not to be bias, but I will say that this is the first Fujifilm product I've ever owned, so keep that in mind. With a little bit of camera expirience I was able to use this camera out of the box and after it's first charge. Like all gadgets it takes a little while to really run through it's abilities and figure out what it can do. The instructions are nice and easy to follow for begginers, but if you have the slightest expirience with digital cameras, you won't even need them. This camera is pretty small, very light and easily kept on your person, in any pocket. Think, just bigger and heavier and thicker than a deck of playing cards. THe LCD screen is AMAZING. I thought I would feel the need for the old school eye-piece for close ups or landscape shots, but so far this screen hasn't failed to impress me. Likewise with the camera's push button play back feature, i feel like i'm carrying a photo-album in my pocket as much as a camera. not only do i like showing my friends some of my favorite shots with it, but the camera itself tends to attract more attention. The other thing I'd like to point out is just how quick this little guy is. Very little start-up time. With out a stop watch, I make it a 2 count and it's on and ready to fire. Play-back mode is 1 button away, and instantly pops up, you can't miss a photo-op, press the shutter once and you're instantly ready to take another picture. I tend to leave lots and lots of pictures on it, as I went ahead and upgraded to a 512mb memory stick, but even with the stock memory card, plugging into your PC has never been easier, and I would Imagine the same on a Mac. Fujifilm provides software that's almost too simplified for myself, but allows to auto upload your photos. Don't want the software? No problem, Fuji built this little devil with Drag-n-drop abilities to sort, delete or copy your pictures. (you could even use it as a flash drive and bring your work home, it won't play mp3's but i've used it to transport those as well... any files really as long as they fit) This feature, on modern gadgets and media devices is priceless. The only bad things I can say about the camera: It's zoom could be a little bit better for landscape and scenery shots. But as is, it does just fine for almost everything I use it for. Also, it's amazingly cool LCD screen is also it's Achilles' Heel. If you scratch or crack this screen, it's game over, especially with out a back up view finder. So be sure to register and fill out that warrany card, just in case. and that's that. I've got nothing bad to say about this camera. I will wrap up by saying. If you're an avid photographer, this is a good camera but you might want to aim for something that will let you custom adjust all your settings to take the quality of photo you need. But on the otherside, if you just use a camera for quick snap shots, this baby will do it, but it's overkill, you'll get you're money's worth in the long run, but cheaper, smaller cameras will do for you. However, for everyone in-between, If you're in the market, I can't say enough good things about this camera. Period. |
The camera that never was (bitten once your loss, twice mine) I was very dissapointed by this purchase. The add was very misleading and instead of getting a camera I was shipped a camera case. I then contacted amazon and eventually got the payment sent back to my account. I guess its kind of funny, I had never ordered anything online and I guess this close call just confirmed to me the unessessary risks you take when doing business on line, so I want be making any more deals via the information highway.
|
not bad but not good as well.Pro.
The camera is good for its lcd size 3 inches. The brightness is excellent. It can take up to 2GB of the XD card. It came with games Cons. Very grainy images. ISO is never good set to auto. Event set to manual mode it needs a lot of setting to get a high quality image. Battery is life is short. definitely need an extra spare. |
A Very Satisfied CustomerI did exhaustive--almost excessive--research before settling on the Fuji Finepix V10 and so far it has paid off. This may be the best priced, ultra-compact camera with a 3-inch screen on the market at this time! That's because the price has dropped as the camera's been out for a while now. That shouldn't deter you. I got mine at B&H. Beginners, you don't need more than 5 megapixels unless you're printing 11x14--or larger prints. Higher and higher megapixel cameras are merely a marketing ploy that misdirects unknowing customers. A 5.1 mp (as this model is) is more than enough for 8x10's--and even the shots I took with this camera where I reduced the megapixels to 3 produced lovely 4x6 prints. (I reduced the pixel size to get more images on that 16mb memory card it came with before installing my larger 256mb XD card.) I've had the camera for about a month and am extremely pleased. Some of my research involved comparing images on photography websites using test still-lifes and set-ups pitting this model against those of the top-rated and similar Canon models and I found negligible differences. This one had, at that time, a better price and I preferred it to Canon because of its design and larger screen. The only main Canon advantage I found was their closer Macro setting. I disagree with the reviewer who said it produced grainy shots. If you hold the camera steady and know how to focus with a digital camera it produces beautiful sharp prints, especially if you have enough light. You'll see the sharpness when you look at your prints. The camera's LCD screen can look a little pixelated and at times a little dim in the brightest outdoor sunlight. Then all you need to do is hold it at another angle to see the image you snapped. You will probably not find a better deal for such a large screen with a known brand at this price. Solid, uniquely retro, yet futuristic at the same time, this is an easy-to-use, chic, stylish little camera as well as a quality one with it's metal frame. This camera's price has really dropped down in the past month so it's a great deal and a good time to buy.

I'm ready for my close up!A very high quality, easy to use digital camera. It comes with a shoulder strap so those that are the clumsy at heart (like myself) are protected. Aside from the EASE of use, high quality pictures, I love that the camera is so cute!
I know that's not a feature for all, but I like cute electronics. I got the orange color and get so many compliments on it! But, seriously, great pics and the first user manual that I used because it was so user friendly (had tips on how to get the best pictures). |
Great camera for the moneyYou would be hard pressed to find a better camera for the $. I got mine for 160 and it is a wonderful camera. Very good limited light photo's. I did a lot of research before I got this camera and I know I made the right choice. It is better looking and a higher build quality than almost any camera under 200$. Only downside is no manual controls but 98% of sub-compact camera buyers wouldn't use them anyways. Great for beginner to intermediate.

What an amazing deal!We purchased this camera because taking the bigger/bulkier ones with better zoom to Disneyworld just didn't seem like a good option (Where do you put it when it's time to get on the ride)? Turns out, the only inferior thing about this camera is that due to it's small size, it's just a 3x optical zoom which really isn't all that bad. Everything else about it is great:
PRO's: -Looks: It's compact with a metallic orange color, complete metal casing, and a huge yet clear LCD screen. Practically the entire backside is a screen. -Operation: The downside to having such a huge screen should be limited controls, but thats not the case, I had to play with this camera for 10 minutes to understand just about every important control available. I wish they made every camera this way. -Features: While the 4 video games are pretty weak and hold my interest as much as an insurance seminar, the phone wasn't purchased for video games. The best feature this phone has is a mode to shoot 2 pictures with one click.. 1 with natural light, and 1 with flash. The playback slideshow mode is a lot of fun to look at, and being able to look at 30 thumbnails is also a big +. -Picture Quality: Crisp, clear, and colorful. Con's: XD instead of SD on the memory card.. Please Fuji, just give it up with your line of XD cameras, just about everybody is going by an SD standard now. This takes away the ability to pop it in the SD slot in my laptop. Because of the incredible price and quality, it's worth the XD hassle, but with SD it would be the perfect compact camera. Just bought a 2nd one in gun metal grey color (orange is a much nicer and unique color, and the pictures on the internet don't do it justice) |
Great Buy!I bought this camera for my teenaged daughter, who didn't want a "kid's camera". This one was a great buy. She has been very pleased with the quality. The camera is smaller than an IPOD. It is pretty easy to operate. The LCD is clear and big for such a small camera. We bought her the 512 card, so that she could take plenty of pics. The fact that it was orange was actually a plus. I own an older Canon ELPH (3 years old), and I think that it stacks up to mine.
|
Nice Look, Nice Pictures.I bought this for my wife as a Christmas present, and have been very pleased with it's performance. I also have the Fuji F30, and love that camera as well. Using the V10 is fairly intuitive, and the huge screen makes choosing items in the menus easy to see. Though lacking in manual controls, the automatic and many preset modes do a very nice job. Compared to my F30, it has a better optical zoom, is smaller in size and a larger screen (though the F30 has a higher megapixel, higher iso and manual controls). I often find myself grabbing this camera off the desk for quick shots just because it's fun to use!

Better than imagned!I bought this camera as a Christmas gift for my sister. First of all, I was shocked at how fast it arrived and I didn't ask for the expedited shipping. It came about 2 days later! The box was brand new and everything was awesome! I wanted it for myself! I really liked the sleak design and the back is all screen. My sister, who loved it so much, she cried, says it's incredibly simple to use. It was a great purchase and I couldn't be happier.
|
Fuji FinepixI bought this camera along with another one for my mom to choose from for Christmas. She went str8 for the Fuji. The HUGE screen on the backside was the main reason. The camera was very easy to use and takes amazing pictures. I would recommend this camera to any first time digital buyer.
|
Great CameraI purchased this camera in hopes that it would be a better than average starter camera. One that had a great zoom, a large view screen (3" size that covers the entire back!), compact size, and last, but not least, easy controls. I hit the bullseye with this one. I didn't even read the instruction manual first. I was so anxious to try it out that I just started playing around with it, and in minutes, I knew everything about it. Very fun camera to use and operate. Plus, Fuji donates a portion of each purchase to conservation efforts. Don't forget to buy a separate protective case--it doesn't come with one. Duh...should've known...great camera though!
|
Digital camera a sucess! This camera was purchased for my daughter for Christmas, she wanted a colorful camera that had a larger screen and she is thrilled with this camera. She also wanted a thin camera, her last digital camera was rather bulky. This camera has everything she wanted and she loves the quality of the pictures too!
|
Fujifilm Finepix V10I bought this camera for a my wife for Christmas this year, she loves it especially the extra large lcd screen. It takes good pics too!The only setback was the 16mb card, didn't hold many snaps. Upgraded now to 1gb nd all is right with the world!Nice compact design fits small hands well too.It is also relatively simple to use, she is no techie, but is able to work it just fine. Got it for a GREAT PRICE TOO!

LOVE THIS CAMERAI was a bit weary of buying a camera via the internet, without being able to personally inspect it. However, I am BEYOND happy with this camera! It is so easy to use and it has more clarity than I hoped for. I highly recommend this camera. In fact, my Mother and brother in law, both want this camera. My mom just purchased a new digital camera and is not happy with it, but she LOVES this one, the big clear display on the back, and the ease of using it. I would HIGHLY recommend this camera for anyone in the market! I am so thankful that I purchased this camera!!! I know you will enjoy it as well. :)
|
Works Great and Looks Great TooI love the colour of the orange version of Fujifilm Finepix V10...it makes taking pictures sooo much more fun. The camera's picture quality is pretty decent for its price...and the camera size is sleek and compact..
The only thing I would suggest is that it come with a camera case or at least a protective slip..I don't mind paying a bit more for such a package, it just saves time and money going out to look for one myself. But all in all this is a product that I would recommmend. |
I like it!After having a Canon, an Olympus, a Sony, and an off-brand digital camera, this one was a purchase I took a long time considering. All in all, I feel it was a good value for my money.
Pros: *HUGE LCD *great battery life *you can review 30 pictures at once on thumbnails, then flip between them *orange faceplate means you probably aren't going to get yours mixed up with anyone else's *quick shutter speed *starts up in less than 2 seconds, so you don't miss the shot *lots of different shooting modes *taking 2 pictures at once (w/ flash and w/o flash) is GREAT *picture quality is wonderful Cons: *button placement is a little strange *games are awkward because of button placement *switching between reviewing pictures and taking pictures is sometimes difficult *camera is a little bit heavy for its small size Altogether, I love my camera. I've read a lot of reviews where people complain about it only having 5mp- I mean, how many of them honestly take pictures and want to turn them into wallpaper?! If you just want a great camera for vacations, special occasions, and knocking around, then this one is a great fit. The price is reasonable, and it takes good pictures. And it has the biggest LCD I've seen! I highly recommend it. |
Wonderful for new and old users!!!I bought this item for my mother this past Christmas because she said she wanted a digital camera. This coming from a woman who honestly has never moved a mouse with a computer. I picked it because of the large viewfinder and I was overwhelmed by the quality of the pics. I own a canon and a kodak both over 5MP and her camera is the one I always want to use. The orange color is not all tacky and everyone wants to see it when she brings it to parties. I would buy this for me and give my 2 away if I had any money left over from the holidays. You cannot beat the quality and ease-of-use for that incredible price.
|
Great little camera!!I really love this camera...it's my first digital camera and I'm way pleased with it! It's easy to use and the pictures look fantastic! I even love the games! I received everything I need to finally get my picture taking into this century! I couldn't be happier with this camera!
|
kind of disappointed....I just got this camera. My current camera before I bought this one was a Fuji FinePix A303. I love the A303 and it takes great quality photos. The only reason I got the V10 was because it has more megapixels than my current camera and also because I liked the design with the large LCD screen. After reading about it, it seemed to have a lot of great features and it got great reviews. When I got it I really loved the design and how easy it was to use but I must say I was not impressed by the quality of the photos. I don't know if maybe I got a damaged model but the photos are not turning out very good. I have the camera set on the highest quality setting and the photos are turning out kind of terrible with bad contrast and the clarity is very grainy-looking. I was annoyed that my older A303, which is only 3.2 megapixels, is taking much better shots by comparison when set up on the tripod in the same setting and with the same lighting.
|
Definitely a great purchase!I absolutely love this camera! It is easy and fun to use. The compact size is so convenient for taking to bars and outings. The screen is so big and clear, makes sharing your pics so easy. Takes great pics in dark rooms like bars. I definitely recommend this camera for anyone looking for a simple, but elegant camera with lots of extras.
|
I love it. Not perfect, but still real good. For the price of $150 w/ shipping, this thing was a steal like a month ago. While it isn't perfect, you still are getting a pretty good camera for the price.
Pros: *It feels strong/sturdy, and looks sweet *It takes pretty good pictures, at least for 4x6" prints. *It takes pretty good low light pictures, w/o flash compared to a lot of other cameras. *Inexpensive. *Responsive, it takes pictures pretty quickly and the controls don't lag. *Ultra-compact, and still affordable *Adjustable ISO up to 1600, the ISO is the camera's sensitivity to light, the higher you set it the faster the camera will take the picture and the pictures will generally turn out a bit brighter. This is really useful for low light situations or when you're taking a picture of something moving at a decent speed, but keep in mind that the higher the ISO the more noise there is. Regardless, the pictures still print (4x6) alright, despite the very noticeable noise; so it's a trade off. *The screen. I love it. It it such an upgrade over my old Sony's 1.25". I can't believe how I managed without it before. Neutral: *Battery life is okay, You need to charge it every so often, more so than some other cameras, but it's decent. *It doesn't have built-in image stabilization, but I'll let it slide since practically no cameras under $200, especially cameras this size, include it. Cons: *It only takes xD cards, thankfully, Fujifilm has seen the error in its ways and Fuji's newer cameras will be SD compatible, maybe the V20 will take SD. I really just hate how xD cards can only be used in Fuji and Olympus cameras, and they're like twice the price of SD cards. *The screen's a fingerprint magnet. *There's no hold switch, I know that like no camera has an actual hold switch, but it would be nice to have that so the lens doesn't accidentally extend if you were to have it in some enclosed area, pockets or bags. *The USB cable isn't a standard mini-USB, I'm not sure what it is, but it just means I have to carry around one more cord, when I travel. |
excellent for its priceI was surprised to find this model. Giving its price it produces very good picture in low light, and as far as I know no other model at the entry level can do this. I like it.
One little issue though, it's a little picky to the xD card. of course, it will be better to use SD card. |
I love this cameraThis is my first digital camera and I am in Love with it! Its so amazing and the size is small enough to carry around anywhere. It takes great pictures with a lot of detail in the photo. You will enjoy the Large LCD display, you can see everything so clear and close up to capture every single memory/ moment. Putting games on this camera was creative, i've never seen that before. I like the games it gives me something to do when i'm bored or just feel like being entertained. I must mention the games have clear, well defined, and detailed graphics. My sister is jealous of my camera and wants to take it everywhere she goes even though she has a digital camera of her own (not as cool as mine). I just recieved my camera today and played with it whenever I could get my hands on it thoughout the day. The price is worth every penny spent. I'm not the expert at technology/ photography, so I can't explained to you anything about resolution, brightness and anything in that sense. But all I know is that if your looking for a nice sized camera, that takes excellent pictures and is easy to use, this would be your best bet.
|
Wow - just wowI ordered this camera and right out of the box it works great. Now - if you are a professional photographer it may not be alll you want - the image quality is 'good' not excellent. But the compact design and the really LARGE 3" screen is wonderful. Easy to use and a great compact camera.
|
Great camera for a great priceI love this camera. I ordered this camera from amazon and so far it has exceeded my expectations. I even tried using this camera in total darkness. I wasn't able to get a clear picture of what I was photographing on the display screen, yet the picture came out perfect. This is my first time using a digital camera (outside of the one on my phone) and after glancing through the book, I feel I can hold my own with this camera. I would suggest getting a memory card if you plan on storing a lot of photos on the camera since it only comes with 16mb. But it does come with its own usb cable and software for downloading the photos to a computer or printer. For the amount of money invested in this camera, you receive amazing quality photos.
|
Pretty good cameraI really like this camera. The viewfinder is HUGE! It has 5.1MP, but the pictures look so good you can hardly tell between 5.1 and 6MP. There are a few things I don't like about the camera: 1. When you click for the picture the image will shake (I don't know if that is normal for DCs) 2. The memory card is only 16MB. Other than that this is a darn good camera!
|
poor qualityI had this camera for one week and then I dropped and it hit the edge of my desk and then I caught it. It would not work at all and it cost more to ship it to Fuji than to buy a new one. Also I couldn't find the warranty card they swore I should have even though I didn't throw anything away. It was nice for the week it lasted, but definately not worth it.
|
Performs better than expected!I LOVE this camera! I actually bought this (grey) one for a friend, I have the cool orange one (mainly so I don't lose it). The large viewing screen is fantastic! It is clear, bright and easy to see even in bright sunshine. The camera powers up quickly and has a fast response after you snap. The zoom is fast and easy to use. I really like and use the function where you can take 2 shots (in very fast succession), one with flash and one without and then compare them. A lot of times I keep both because each one highlights different features. The videos are are also of superb quality. I have a 1GB memory card and have taken over 600 pictures at full (5 MP) quality. The battery has incredible life. I have only charged it twice, and that's with shooting video also. For the price, I feel I got much more than I paid for!
|
great serviceI got my product in less than a week which was great. The fujifilm camera is very easy to use and I have had no problems so far. Great product.
|
Just Great!!!Read all reviews and made my purchase from Amazon. Camera came and powered it up. Read manual. Took pictures. This camera is all it is said to be, a great point and shooter!!! Thanks for all who wrote their thoughs, they were very helpful. If this is the size and type of camera you are looking for then look no futther, just buy it and enjoy.
Get extra battery, 1G card and Gorrilla Pod, then you have the complete travel set-up. John B, Maryland |
Great CameraGreat camera at an even better price from Amozon. I looked at many camera's before deceiding on this one. I was looking for a camera that was fairly easy to use in the beginning but had a few extra features I could use after I felt confortable with it and this one fit the bill perfectly. The 3" screen is so easy on the eyes and I am no professional photagrapher but the pictures look great to me on the screen and printed out.
|
Just excellent. Perfect fit and qualityI have owned already many digital cameras from so-so to high-end kinds; from Minolta Dimage S414 to latest Canon Xt. Ofcourse there are pros and cons for every single one of them. However, for the price I paid and the quality that I received - I am very very impressed by this Fuji V10. For those who loves to complain about the low light environment, go ahead to buy something else that you think it's better; I bet that you will regret to waste your hard earned money down the drain for getting the similar type of blurry, grainy, yellowish image results...I spent $450.00 for the Canon SD900 for my gf as Xmas gift
|
WOW....AMAZINGI work over at C%^#*t City and I sell digital cameras and computers. Unfortunately, we do not carry Fuji cameras, which is a shame. I play with all other brands at work and they just don't measure up to the Fujifilm finepix v10. Other brands really focus on the megapixels, but they tend to forget about the other components that make a camera great. Thankfully, Fuji is not one of them and they made an awesome digital camera that is feature rich with amazing picture quality. The super CCD censor really makes this camera much better than others in its class. I'm thinking of buying another one for my brother so he can replace that Coolpix camera of his.

Great Camera, Great Price! I bought this camera when it was 57% off, it was only 123 dollars, and 1 day shipping was only 3.99 under Amazon Prime! Got to my home the next day! Now I'm not a camera professional or anything of the sort. I was just looking for a decent camera to take pictures of family and friends, I got way more than I expected. I just recieved the camera today so I'll just list a few pro's and con's,
Pro's * I love the big screen, unlike other reviewers, it's not hard at all to hold the side of the camera. *The games are a cool feature *This camera is really, really small, the last digital camera I had was back in 2001, I thought it was small. This camera is smaller than the size of a wallet. *Pictures are very good, you can change the quality settings to make them more sharp, like I said I'm not a photo professional, this is just comming from an everyday user. very nice pictures. Con's So far the things I don't care for (be mindfull, I just recieved this today) *Menu's are a tad complicated. It was hard to locate the timer function, there are alot of menu's. *Playing the games is hard using the controls. *It would've been nice if it came with a case, the big screen is a fingerprint magnet. Right now, given the price $123, it seems like the price is going up now, I bought the camera 3/12/07, it's a steal. Very Nice product! |
The ExtrasThe camera is as the reviewers said, small, easy to use, large display. My wife said, "oh, I can use it to show friends pictures of our twins". Yes you can with pictures saved on the card. I don't know if you can transfer old pictures onto the card easily though.
On to the extras. Despite the low cost, I bought the two year extended warranty as friends have had their little cameras break for all sorts of reasons. I also bought from Amazon the case to protect the screen and the lens from accidential opening. Oh yes, I also bought a 1GB card as the 16MB card held about 16 2MP pictures. This added about $70 total. For the price, a very nice deal for everyday picture taking. |
Cheap camera for a good priceyay! Got the cam for [...]+ free shipping and just mailed out the [...]rebate form.
I took some pics without touching anything right from the box and picture quality came out to be very grainy in low light conditions. Then I adjusted the ISO setting to ISO 64 and pictures got a whole lot better! |
VERY poor performance at medium-to-high ISO levelsI bought this item from Amazon. It works well at ISO levels below 400. Above that (which is basically any shot with flash) picture quality is terrible. I know a bit about photography, and spent whole weekend playing with settings etc. Did not help... Returned and got money back.
Do not buy this item, it is junk. |
Almost everything was perferct. Almost ...I really wanted this camera to be a good one. I own a FinePix S5100 for over two years and I am perfectly happy with the photos that it takes. I ordered the V10 as a less bulky alternative.
When I received the camera everything looked to be right. The price was excellent (130$), the packaged included anything I needed (card, rechargeable battery, manual) and the camera itself had a sleek design and a huge LCD. Both the software and the firmware (on the camera) is foolproof with many capabilities. It wasn't until I took the first shot when my enthusiasm was curbed: pixels were all over the place, rendering any high resolution shots impossible. The resolution and image clarity that I got with this camera is comparable with one that has a 2.0MP CCD.How could these guys pay attention to so many things but its primary aspect, a decent photographic quality? I would gladly pay 30-50$ more for this product if the CCD was true to its promises. Totally disappointed, I returned it within a day. |
LOVE this camera! This is a great camera. LOVE the huge LCD screen. It's pretty easy to figure out. I only had to go to the manual for a couple of things. I would definitely recommend this camera.
|
Great little camera @ a great priceI got this camera last week when I saw that it was on sale for $130 -- original price was $300. I love it -- and I am a very picky customer when it comes to digital cameras.
I had shopped for an affordable yet high-quality point-and-shoot camera for several months before getting the Fujifilm Finepix V10 5.1M -- ever since my wife broke my trusty Sony CyberShot (which was a few years old) back in September. However, at the camera store, the newer CyberShots didn't meet my expectations. And they were over priced. I actually ended up buying a Canon PowerShot SD600... but was so disappointed with it that I returned it a few days later (poor image quality and the "shake" warning when on constantly). I took a chance on the Fujifilm Finepix and am glad I did. Fantastic quality photos whether snapped indoors or outdoors. Action photos come out great, too. It's small enough to fit in your pocket and comes with a strap that allows you to wear it over your head like a camcorder. Speaking of camcorders, the Finepix shoots excellent videos, too. It comes with a 16 MB memory card. I suggest ordering a 1- or 2-gig card when you get this camera. You'll need the extra space as the 16 MB card fills up with just 12 photos if you set the image quality at maximum. Get this camera and you won't regret it. |
Great full feature cameraAfter approaching 50, taking picture on dig camera needs reading glass, this V10 has 3 inch screen which solve the problem. also it has great battery life between each charge, very functional on all features too.
|
Great Mini Camera,Fist let my say that I really like this camera. It takes great pics. It is smaller than I expected and the controls are well thought out and easy to use even with my big hands, no problems. This is my first camera with a telescoping lens and keep getting my fingers in the way. The LCD is bright and clear, fringerprints are not a problem for me. I just wipe them off with a soft type cloth. I would think in a world where almost everyone has a cell phone they would be used to a few finger prints on the LCD! How many people have you seen wiping their phone LCD on their pants or shirt. Think about it.
The shutter response time is great. As soon as you press the release button the pic is taken, no lag. The zoom is fast 1.5 seconds. This time can be changed to 5 seconds if you like. Now for what I dont like. The night time pics (without flash) I have taken are very grainy, dont know if I can adjust on this. I will update later. The Fuji software is sub par at best. Loaded with sale pitches for other items/services. I really do not like this. I read the other reviews about the supplied software and bought a copy of Corel Paint Shop Pro IX, love it, came with a training CD and it is well worth the extra cash if you want to fix your pics and make the good into great. Over all a great little camera. |
Great product for the price.I did have a Finepix a365 but it was destroyed by my 2 year old. I upgraded to this one rather then the 365 again and it is great. the screen is the size of the camera, great zoom, great features. i love this camera. if you are in the market for a digital camera for amatuer personal use, i suggest this one.
|
Great value! This is a terrific camera, and a great value. I was lucky enough to pick one up when Amazon had them priced at $123. That large LCD is great. Sure you get finger prints on it. Anyone with a cellphone is probably used to that anyways. The menus are quite intuitive, as is the operation of the camera. Takes great pictures. I'm hoping that Amazon reduces the price again so I can pick up a couple more of them for gifts. And with 1GB xD memory at $24.99 at Amazon, there's a great match for a lot of storage for a terrific camera.

Great for simple point and shoot, but not much elseI bought this camera with high expectations. It was supplementing my (4 year old) Olympus C-755UZ. I needed it to take pictures of friends, or slip in my pocket to take on the go easily. However, I was not necessarily expecting it to be comparable in image quality of an SLR, I figured it would surpass my outdated Olympus, but it didn't. It claims to have less noise, but really there is more noise in lower ISO settings than on most other cameras, even though there is relatively low noise at higher ISOs than most. Also, when the ISO is in the auto setting, it tends to boost the ISO way higher than it needs to be resulting in an image that is rarely blurry but very grainy. Also, there is a weak macro function, that struggles to focus in most situations. So it probably sounds like I am totally bashing this camera, but it makes up for it in color accuracy and functionality. The camera powers up incredibly fast, there is very little shutter lag, and the flash charges quickly. However, it tends to struggle to focus in lower light situations, contrary to its claims. Also, the menus are intuitive and even though the controls may be small and squished, they work well and are easy to get used to. The LCD is also amazing. Coming from a screen that is 1/2 the size of this, I am spoiled and it makes me not want to use my Olympus. Skin tones are very accurate, and the manual setting has quite a few white balance modes that are effective. Overall, it is not the most amazing camera as far as image quality goes, but for $130 bucks, it is hard to beat.
|
Great camera, great price, has 4 games! This camera takes very good pictures, even indoors, even without flash. Its 3-inch LCD screen is gorgeous, and it's a very responsive shooter. The video mode is really good, taking video clips at 30fps and VGA (640x480), perfect for TV viewing. The camera is UNIQUE in that it comes with 4 really fun games. The LCD screen is really gorgeous.
Battery life is average for a camera this size. The one minor thing I don't like is it uses the xD card which is not as ubiquitous or cheap or reliable as SD cards. |
DisappointedGot this camera looking to replace our old Canon SD110. Very cool unit with fun features. Unfortunately it seems that all the money went into design and not performance. While flesh tones were good the photos were very grainy. Switching from the auto settings to manual trying to override the ISO didn't help. Indoors, outdoors, all consistently dissappointing.
|
Poor and noisy imageWhen the image is viewed at a zoom of 1:1 you realize how bad this is. The 5.1 Megapixel is false. Because you need to average the noisy pixels it is closer to 2 Megapixels. It does not compare to a 3MP I bought in 2000. I expected more but this is only good enough for my little girl to play with.
|
Love this little camera.I love this little camera. It weighs almost nothing and takes great pictures. I didn't need anything fancy as I don't take a lot of pictures. But I will probably take a lot now (had to order larger memory card) just to play with the camera.
|
If it was reliable it would be okI went through 2 of these before calling it quits. The first one arrived with a broken lcd, so I would urge anyone getting this camera to treat it like a carton of eggs. The second one arrived and worked for about 10 photos. After that it would no longer power on. In addition to having a camera that didn't work, I now have 2 useless xd picture cards that won't work in anything other than Olympus or Fuji... and after my Fuji experience I'll pass. I decided to spend the extra money and buy a Canon SD630. In the V10's defense it took decent pictures before it died and I posted them just in case my review doesn't scare you away from this camera! Also, I have had at least 5 or 6 point and shoots prior to this and NEVER had any problems whether they were casio, kodak, hp, sony, or canon, or my nikon DSLR. Also Amazon had AMAZING customer service and accepted the cameras back with no problem!
|
Above Average Looks, Below Average PicturesThis is the first time I have felt the need to write a review. This may be a stylish looking camera with a price that you cannot pass by, but you really should. The images taken on this camera are grainy, pixelated, and a huge disappointment. Save yourself the hassle and do not buy this camera. This customered just returned his.
|
Great BuyThis little camera is awesome. Great for indoors, outdoors, flash or no flash.Fun features and clean shots! Cant beat the price.
|
Excellent !!!The best camera I have ever had ! The 3 inch screen is worth the money alone! I highly recommend this camera! I wish I can give it 10 stars!
|
Fujifilm Finepix V10 5.1MP Digital Camera with 3.4x Optical Zoom (Gun Metal Grey)Nothing better out there for the price!
|
Are those other reviewers refering to this camera???I purchased this camera because is is compact but has a huge view finder.
My first impression is this camera is heavy for it's size even with the battery removed. It feels like it is made of cast iron. The rechargble battery is a little unusual, so don't expect to find a replacement anywhere except in a dedicated camera store. The XD memory card that comes with the camera will let you take 16 full resolution pictures, so you need to buy a spare. I recommend an H (high speed) 512 MB or 1 GB memory card. I have yet to test the durability. More on that later. |
Sexy CameraGood quality-value-price. Pictures not always great out of sunlight. Looks great, convenient, would get it again
|
Fujifilm Finepix V10Okay. First of all, please don't expect this camera perform like 500 - 600 dollars camera. I think this camera worth every penny I paid for, the large LCD screen and the above-average picture quality. It is true the pictures are not as good in low light. But the pictures I took in daytime were awesome. It is fast to start the camera and the pictures are easy to view with the 3" LCD screen. Overall, it is a great camera with great design and compact size.
|
This is the most amazing thing!O my goodness this camera rocks! First of all, thank You Amazon for selling it at such a great price! I got it for 139.94. I went to the mall and every store had it for 299.99!!! I was so happy!
Anyhow, the thing is awesome. I usually prefer to use the viewfinder because it helps me take better pictures, but I love the LCD. It doesn't eat as much battery as I thought it would, and the lithium ion battery is rechargeable. I was also afraid of dropping it and breaking the screen. While opening the box, I dropped the camera and it didn't break. I fired it on, and played around, it is a little difficult to navigate if you aren't technologically inclined. One of the features that I fell in love with is its ability to take two pictures at once. One with the flash, and one without, so you always get a pretty picture. amazingly, some of those pictures are coming out better without the flash then with the flash, and this is indoors. The fast shutter is so great too! it doesn't steal light quality and gives you sharp pictures, every time. I would definitley recomend this camera to anyone. Whether your a beginner, or an expert photographer looking for a "play around with" camera. And if you can get it at Amazon's discounted price, you better grab it ASAP because who knows how long its going to be on sale. I had it shipped overnight, and it was still cheaper then getting it at the store. |
amazing camerai have a big SLR camera, i have to carry the large bag whenever i want to take pictures, so i wanted an additional camera that takes good enough photographs and that i can keep in my pocket. it was a great choice, the screen is big which makes it very helpful for composition and it has a very good ISO (low noise compared to other point and shoot), the speed of taking pictures is fast. the design is small, which makes it fit perfectly in my pocket. great camera!!!!
|
Great giftI bought this camera to gift as a gift my mom. She is not a tech savvy but found it extremely easy to play with. Simple menu options and large screen fits her style perfectly. I love fuji cameras coz of their menu options. In fact I have only used fuji camera's for last 6 years. Keep upgrading to a Fuji. Cannt ever go wrong with it. :)
|
Fuji digital 5.1/gun metal greyThis is a great little camera. I bought it for my son at college - great price. I did a lot of research and found that it had great reviews. It takes very decent close-ups whereas my canon older type of digital doesn't. I was going to buy a Canon for him, but they had nothhing in the same price range with the same size (the fuji is quite compact - not extra thin, but smalll enough to put in a pocket and has a 3" screen) the only drawback is the set up (why I gave it a four star)- I thought the manual was confusing, but once you get through how to set your pictures on the computer - it's fine. I would recommend this as a first digital or even second!

Fuji Finepix V.10AWESOME CAMERA! Just what I wanted. The thing I wanted MOST is a FAST, FAST camera. This is it, this camera takes super fast pictures of my little girl in action. She is usually almost impossible to get a good picture of. My HP camera was so slow in comparsion. If megapixels were higher I would have given a 5 Star. In my camera I used the H-speed 1GB card, it is also super fast. Pictures upload to my computer (50 pics) in about 2 seconds! Using PICASA, Amazing! Camera body is also awesome high quality brushed steel beautiful! Great job Fuji!

Awesome camera!I've owned 3 fujifilm finepix cameras before this and this one is by far the best one! It takes excellent pictures and is small enough to fit into my pocket so I can take it anywhere. Even takes great pictures in low light! Worth the money!!

Go with something elseI bought this camera for my boyfriend so we could take behind the scene shots when we are on film sets. We just got back from working on a feature in Trinidad and 90% of the pictures are so grainy. The LCD image is grainy and I knew that, but this thing has no idea how to focus, especially in low light.
If you don't want to ruin a priceless experience with terrible pictures then get a better camera. |
best camera ever and i love it!!!!!This is actually my very first time to buy a digital camera and was afraid that I might get a cheap quality camera but I was wrong ... The camera looks very stylish and I love the design of it. It is a perfect size for me - not too small .. not too big but also a light weight camera. It has a big screen and great quality pictures, you can see/view clearly the pictures you've taken from the 3" screen. I love the natural light mode, with or w/out flash. I was a bit confused when tried to set up the XD card, I got scared I thought I got a broken camera but I just read thru the manual and later on, I started taking pictures. The battery life is okay but if you are going on a trip its better to have an extra battery. [...]
So far, I don't see any CONS in this cute camera. I highly recommend this to all, an excellent quality and very stylish camera but is affordable price too!!!! :) |
excellent camera but ISO is too sensitiveFor the price of this camera on Amazon you won't find a better deal. Camera itself is really nice. Very good ergonomics. Easy to use and navigate. Higher capacity xD card and a case is a must. Makes great pictures outdoors using AUTO ISO. Indoors I needed to change ISO to 100 or 200, otherwise if left in AUTO camera selects ISO on the high end. It selected in 600 range where 200-400 ISO would be enough. Picture became very grainy when ISO is above 400. It might not be noticeable on 4X6 prints, but when you view your picture on entire monitor screen, "noise" is very noticeable. Just manually change ISO setting from AUTO to 100, 200 or even 400 and you will get a very good quality picture. Overall it a very good camera considering all fitures, picture quality and price.

Decent pictures, beautiful screen... Skip it, though. The screen is amazing, but the quality of the pictures just doesn't compare with the F20, which is the same exact price. I thought it would be smaller, but actually, they are extremely similar in size. Please note this camera is kinda heavy for its size. It's not that weird to hold it with your finger on the screen, but it is honestly a bit less than ideal. Anyway, bottom line is, if you care about the picture quality, go for the F20. The camera bodies are very similar, the screen is only a bit smaller on the F20, and you'll be taking sharper, cleaner pictures.
I also thought this would be durable. (I am notorious for breaking things.) The screen is very well protected, but I have somehow broken the power button, from no discernible impact. This may seem like a small thing, but the power button turned on very easily if I didn't have a case on it; things would bump into it and turn it on. If you do invest in this camera, get a case so you don't waste all of your battery taking pictures of the inside of your bag. |
Best deal in the WORLD!THis is an awesome camera. Takes 10 star quality pictures. Has great features. Is easy to use. Has a beautiful 3 inch screen! that's like watching a small movie everytime you check your pictures. People always make comments about that when they see this camera. I think all the controls are intuitive after getting used to it. And it has a great movie record feature with mics and speakers built in. To top it off - it's under $150 - you can't beat that. It's ridiculous how they sell these 1231 Million mega-pixel cameras now - for the average user, 3 mega-pixels is good, 5 is more than enough. Trust me you will not regret this buy! Enjoy and check out my caribbean pictures thats i posted above!

love this cameralove love love this camera.
Simple, easy to use, just point and shoot. I handed this off to my husband with no instructions one day and said "take some pictures"! He turned it on, saw the button for taking pictures, found the zoom button and was off! He was so impressed, I kept telling him that Fujis are really intuitive and now he believes me! Takes wonderful pictures, nothing to complain about. Does fine in low-light, outside, sunny days, cloudy days. I haven't found a situation where it doesn't work well. There are all sorts of manual settings you can use if you want to, having fun with the dual picture option (takes two pictures in a row, one with flash, one without flash), or just let the camera decide for you based upon the situation. Definitely recommended to my friends, and I just LOVE the orange color. Sure makes it easier to find when you put it down on a covered end table! :) |
A good optionHigh ISO and large screen were the reasons for my purchase. The screen is great but, when you force the ISO 1600, it seems to darken the pictures more than in 800. I have a S5200 and that one seems to adjust other options like white balance much better when an ISO is set w/o having to go to full Manual option. Definitely something to improve! The auto option seems to work much better and I was surprised with how good the high speed three frame shooting works. Also, the two picture function(it takes two with slightly different sets automatically) saves me on a lot of 're-posing'

LaniaMore than what i expected. A great digital camera with lots of great functions. Plus, very easy to operate. For those who are not interested in reading instructions, i think this is the one for you. Overall, i really like it. Everywhere i go, i always have my Fuji V10 with me. My husband thought it was a toy camera when he first saw it, but when he started to use it, he fell in love with it. i strongly recommend it.

Great for a FujiTo be honest, I am more particular to Canon and Sony cameras, but my wife got this for herself so I got to play with it. It has a very nice LCD screen, decent battery life, and easy to navigate menus and controls. It's comfortable to hold. The pictures it produces don't seem any different then my Canon and Sony cameras for computer and web images, but I haven't tried any prints yet.
I don't think it turns on quickly enough, not like my Canon and Sony point and shoots. My style is "shooting from the hip" so to speak, at random, sudden, and unpredictable moments. Also, the USB cable it uses to connect to the computer is not standard, and it does not work with the same cable my other cameras use(they all work with the same cable), but it comes with its own. Or just get a card reader. Have fun. |
Point and ShootThis is a wonderful vacation or all around camera. It is small with a large LCD screen. Many settings available via the on-screen menu. I would recommend this highly. Get an extra battery and a wall mount charger.
The pictures are great (4 x 6). I haven't tried to make any larger prints as of yet. |
Cute, tiny, stylish, aweful image qualityI recently purchased this camera-- I wanted a small, cheap backup camera, and the price Amazon was offering it at was incredible. Once the camera arrived, I took it out for several test shots under different lighting conditions (indoors w/ flash, bright indoors w/o flash, outdoors closeup & distance). Uploaded the pics to my mac, took a good look, and returned it to Amazon within six hours of the first shot.
Looking at the whole picture on the screen, the Fuji's image was noticeably "soft", and when zoomed in at all, they looked like watercolor paintings. Noise everywhere, even on shots where I dialed down the ISO. 4x6 printouts were barely acceptable, I'd never go larger. Overall image quality was what I'd expect in a camera from ~2000-2001, not a current generation camera. Compared with my other 5MP camera (an S2IS), these images were not useable. Still, this is a clever little camera that looks great & would be very easy to carry as long as you're not picky about noise in the image. |
One of the best deals I've bought from Amazon.I just got this camera yesterday from Amazon and I love it already. I bought it primarily as a camera to take everywhere, one that is small and cheap. For the most part, it is easy to use and the pictture quality is great. I bought it for $133 and it was worth every penny (although I don't know if I would spend the full retail price of $299).
The natural light setting is better than our other digital camera, a Kodak DX7630. Compared to the Kodak, the menus and focus are harder to master. There are atleast 4 menus (photo menu, shooting menu, playback menu, display menu) with sub menus. They are scattered all over the place. BUT, I am used to the ease of a Kodak. It was easy to use, I just opened the box and started snapping. The memory card that come with it holds only 12 - 5 megapixel photos so buy a new memory card while your at it. It works fine with my Mac using iPhoto, although I did not try to install their software. The 3-inch screen is gorgeous and the ability to take two pictures at once is great. Trying to get the subject in focus is the tricky part. Very small and very cute. I am very happy with and I look forward to taking it everywhere. I think it might be one of the better tinier cameras that you can buy for the price (on sale). |
