i decided on the fujifilm finepix z20fd after doing a hard core search for a small digicam. i also looked at similar nikons, cannons, kodaks.
i got it yesterday and i am so happy with it after just taking a few random trial shots! wow!
i TOTALLY rec this little cam if u guys r in the market.... i'll attach some pics i took last night in my trial run. oh and i did ZERO editing to these pics...this is how they took (minus i size reduced them to post).
i'll update this review after i take this baby on vacation and print some pics!

great cam! |
Great choiceI LOVE this camera. Not only does it come in a variety of cool colors, it was great features. It can reduce red eye, detect faces and much more. The pictures come out great. It is also easy to learn how to use.
|
This Fuji is a top performerScientifically and industrially, Fuji builds world beater optics and optical systems. Mass market cameras are a sideline for them to privilege us with their technology in a consumer package.
Here is the simplest, cheapest, coolest little camera among the pack of little cams. The view finder has a state of the art high resolution LCD. Picture quality is perfect. It's fast and fun. I'm not sure how you could make the user interface more intuitive. There is a lot of technology whipping around inside the package that I can well appreciate. Because the name is not Nikon or Canon, don't be put off. Fuji consumer products always seem to insure that you get more delight for your money as Fuji fights the known brands for market share by one-upping the competition. This little camera is a another great example. |
I love Fuji cameras! This is my third Fujifilm Finepix, and like the two before, this camera meets and exceeds my expectations. It is relatively inexpensive, so given what you pay and what you get, it is a fabulous deal. The camera is also extremely easy to use -- I haven't even touched the owner's manual, though I'm sure I'll find more if I actually read it.
I actually considered the Fujifilm Finepix Z100fd 8MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Pink), but after reading the reviews, I went with this one instead -- and I am so glad. I think this one looks better anyway, and the difference in zoom power makes hardly any difference. And, really, who needs to stand THAT far from the picture's subject? |
Fuji Finepix Z20fd Has Excellent Low Light PerformanceIf you read my Customer Review of my JVC GZ-MG255 Camcorder, you will know that I like Low Light Performance.
So I spent time and researched for a good, small pocket-size, point-and-shoot still camera with good Low Light Performance. I did not see anything that I liked yet. Then I saw this newest model Fujifilm Finepix Z20fd camera advertised for a half-hour on the HSN cable TV shopping channel (go to HSN website to watch/download video). I heavily and thoroughly researched this further, and then ordered the Black Color model, and just received this. I am very impressed with this camera. -- I took some night time low light still pictures (natural, without flash), and they came out great. Has ISO of 1600. -- This takes very good low light MPEG-4 videos with audio (640 x 480 dpi). -- I normally research and buy the best for natural Low Light Performance, and I think this is the best, small portable, point-and-shoot still camera, and with the new MPEG-4 videos. -- I wanted a small camera that was small and did not have a zoom lens that telescopes out from the camera, and this camera has 3X optical zoom and the zoom mechanism stays within and inside the camera, and therefore this camera is ready for instant use, and instant stop and stowage. -- I like the sliding lid which protects the lens, and turns the camera on and off instantly (compared to telescopic type cameras which will have a delay due to the lens coming out or in). -- Uses regular SD memory cards (I always get the faster speeds, lifetime warranty SD cards, like Kingston Ultimate 2GB, and SanDisk Ultra II 2GB). -- Very small camera. Size is: 3 1/2 inch wide; 2 1/8 inch high; 13/16 inch thick. -- Solidly built, and does not feel cheap. On the Cable TV commercial, the host threw, on purpose, the camera to the floor to show that it could take it, and he said it still works. (Of course, I don't recommend you to do same.) -- I researched the higher Fujiflim Finepix Z100fd but decided not to buy that higher model because it took videos in AVI and not MPEG-4. -- Has separate push button for still camera, and a separate push button to turn on/off video camcorder mode. -- Has the new technology called "face detection". -- Has inside 3X Optical Zoom, and the "inside" is called "protected zoom" (as per the HSN Cable TV commercial). Has 3X Optical Zoom. And also additional Digital Zoom which can be switched on or off via the menu. -- The Fuji Z20fd is the 2008 latest and greatest technology camera, and is a newer, higher model than the older Fuji "Z" series: Fuju Z5fd and Fuji Z10fd; and the very old Fuji F31fd (which was famous for having very good Low Light Performance). |
Finally - my perfect CameraAfter 2 broken digital cameras (one Sony and one Nikon which broke only after 2 months of use), I can truly say this is my perfect camera. It is portable, easy to use and takes probably the best pictures I have seen in this class of camera.
It shoots readily without that long delay I have experienced with other cameras so you can truly capture the moment. It also takes the most awesome action shots in the "sport" mode. I went to an amusement park with my family and caught crystal clear pictures of my husband and daughter on the rides while they were in motion. The "anti-shake" option is wonderful as well considering I am always chasing a 2 year old around for pictures. This camera is very easy to use and at first seems like it might not have many options, but does. Overall, this is the best camera for the money and I can't say enough about it considering the plethora of problems I have had with my digital cameras in the past. |
Good Product, Poor CompanyI ordered this camera for my son, and it wasn't the model he wanted. So . . . I returned it to the supplier, SkyBox-USA, after obtaining a Return Authorization Number. Since I had ordered many times from Amazon in the past, I did not think to check the "Return Policy". I returned the item in perfect condition, and was charged a 15% restocking fee, as well as the shipping cost. I expected to pay the shipping cost. I did not expect to pay a restocking fee. I feel if a restocking fee is to be charged, it should be clearly stated on the web site, not hidden within pages of other info. It cost me $34 to learn this lesson. I will never order from SkyBox again.

what a cool, tiny, and durable camera---and cheap!I have this camera for about one week, took aobut 130 pics, using all the different shooting modes available.
1. shooting modes are very intuititve and easy to use 2. great quality pics, i bought the 2Gb card, you can store and take up to 800 pics of the best quality shots 3. I saw the same camera in Target at $180 4. it fits inside my little purse, it is no bigger than my motorola cell phone 5. I was so happy with this little thing, taking pictures of houses, plants, swinging it aorund my wrist, and .... slipped off my hand hitting hard on a concrete pathway....and it survived!! It suffered no damages except for the few ugly nicks on the chrome part (stupid me). I am so happy!! |
Good toy, but bad photosI used the Fujifilm FinePix F30 (6.3MP) camera for few years and like it, but it got old and bit up so I purchase the Finepix Z20fd. It looks cool and the menus are more informative and up to date, but when I start taking photos and compare this 10MP with the older 6.3MP in the same zoom and light the photo quality is a joke; very bad in comparison.
If you purchase a camera to take photos, this is not the one. Maybe it is good for videos but I can't recomand it. Sorry. |
very disappointedI ordered this camera as a graduation gift-unfortunately when my niece opened the box, we realized there was no battery or USB cord. After wasting half the day of graduation in search of a battery,we realized it was not even a Fuji Z20 but actually a Z10 in a Z20 box. Clearly the definition of "new" maybe different to Amazon than to its customers. Had to buy a backup the next day at trusty Walmart but we were left with no graduation pictures. I typically have great experiences with Amazon, but perhaps I should stick to books -no batteries needed.

Fuji Funi love this product. it is easy to use and takes GREAT pics!!!! one of the best purchases ever. i would recommend this camera to anyone professional or non-professional!!!
|
Excellent little cameraI bought this camera to replace a Fujifilm A600 that had a short life span. I hope this camera last longer. I bought this camera because of it's size, weight, and fact that the lens does not stick out of the camera. I can keep the camera in my pocket, turn it on, and take it out to be discreet if need be.
I do not like the face recognition and analyzing feature unless I am specifically taking a picture of a person. It slows down the camera option. Also, you can not disable automatic review. The minimum is 1.5 seconds which also slows down the speed at which you can take pictures. I do like the second button for rapid movie recording. Video quality is alright. It is nothing to brag about but decent enough for YouTube. I have yet to print any photos but picture quality on the monitor is wonderful. |
Great compact cameraGave my daughter the Z10 for Christmas. My grandaugter fell in love with it. I recently gave my grandaughther the Z20 for her birthday. It was another winner. Very durable, compact and takes great pictures.
|
Not just for Generation "Z"This camera was primarily intended for the younger crowd, but I will definitely recommend it to Anyone of Any Age. Its very stylish if you care about that, and the features are spectacular. With the up to 10MP resolution, and the highly advanced face detection, and the fact that the video clips are in MP4 format make this camera a must have for the occasional picture taker of any age. The bundled software is ok, though I prefer to just use Windows Photo Gallery to import and format the SD card. Of course there are many many more features to speak of, but I want to keep this short. Overall, It's an A+. Super sharp photos, clean and smooth video (With Sound) and a fairly sharp 2.5" LCD. Its one of those 'Pull it out of your pocket, slide it open and shoot" That fast, that easy. Oh, and by the way, forget about AA or AAA batteries, This has a cell-phone like Li-Ion battery that lasts and lasts, and comes with charger (No USB charging though) If you do choose this model, you won't regret it.
|
Looks like a toy, shoots like pro.I bought this camera expecting a decent product, and it has turned out to be an excellent one. It takes great pictures, and they're beautiful when printed. It has a lot of features including many shooting modes, face detection technology, etc that make this camera a bargain! Highly recommended!
|
Impressive! Not just impressive, but very much so. I like the colors, the looks, the MP and even the zoom is amazing for 3x.
My only minor complaint is that of the slight delay on picture taking. If you are looking to capture a spur of the moment shot, you better allow yourself a couple seconds. (You should have a SLR or something for such anyway.) The camera's pictures are very fine on a computer screen, and the elimination of red eye is an awesome perk. The software that comes with the device isn't needed to get the pictures from the camera, but it is free and there, so what the heck. Movie quality is good, not Blue Ray (of course) but helps capture those moments when you forget your video camera. These videos can range in size depending on your memory card. The accessories are cheap (most of them) and I must advise you on getting a nice large memory card for extra pictures or movies space. All in all, Fujifilm does not dissapoint. I can't wait to get out in the woods with mine. |
Whoo-hooo I LOVE my camera!I love my new camera and look forward to using the video option. I just got back my first pics, so clear and sharp. It is easy to use, the battery is still on its first charge, and even my husband and kids love it.
Thanks! |
Great Price, Easy to UseThis camera is my third digital. So far, the only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a sepia option. Other than that, it's light, easy to use, and takes good pictures (not as great as I'd expect for a 10 MP camera, but good nonetheless). My first digital was a Fuji Finepix 1.3 MP and it was a great camera. The quality of those pictures easily competed with 3 MP cameras when they came out. My second was a Sony Cybershot - good camera, but this Finepix 10MP has better battery life and takes much better videos (with sound to my surprise). The price on this could not be beat and I would definitely recommend it to the casual photographer.
|
great -easy to use camerawell described and works great. Small size - easy to carry - can run in full auto mode.
|
Great for the casual noviceI think it'd be more useful to explain what i was looking for in buying a new camera and then explain whether or not this camera fulfilled my hopes.
I'm an absolute novice photographer. I bought this camera simply to document special occasions and stuff like that--typical ameteur. I like taking pictures and I wanted a digital camera that took high quality pictures (I sought at least 10 MP) at under $200.00. My research found that this camera was rated by about.com as the #1 camera for bloggers for its ease of use and high megapixel count--not to mention the price. I also found very few cameras with this many megapixels priced under $200.00. I also wanted a camera made by one of the more well known name brands that make digital camera, which to my knowledge Fuji is. So with all the standards listed above in mind, I settled upon this camera, which seemed to be the obvious choice. It's smaller than I'd expected, but that's actually a positive thing since I like to have it on me when I'm out and about. And it's small size packs a punch. I'd advise any ametuers like me to not shortchange themselves on the whole megapixel thing. The extra 70 or even 100 dollars it will cost you will be worth it, especially if you like to make big prints like 8 by 10s of the really nice pictures you take. The megapixels make the pictures so clear and really, along with the stabling mechanism, make your pictures look more like they were taken by someone who knows what they are doing. I learned how to navigate through all the menus very easily, too. The rechargeable battery is a big plus. I recommend getting a memory card--they literally can hold thousands of pictures. I would discourage, as some of the other reviews have already implied, professionals and even semi-serious photographers from buying this camera--folks who are interested (and know how to use) all those little features, some of which are on this camera, and some not. Megapixel-wise, it takes the same high quality photos of a fancier camera--but in terms of its user-friendliness and portability it's perfect for the novice--at least this novice. |
Best. Camera. EverOnly two complaints. The blue was $12 cheaper than the green - I'd have rather gotten the Wasabi Green one but didn't feel it truly justfied th extra $. And the shutter keeps accidently sliding open in my purse, and I have to be very careful when inserting it in my camera case for the same reason. Could use some sort of "Latch."
But other than that it's a really great camera. Incredibly easy to use. |
Reasonable & great camera! This camera is compact, fashionable and very user friendly.
The movie has clear graphics and sound. |
Better than It LooksI was looking for a small and simple camera, and I am very happy with the Z20fd. This camera looks too small and to simple to be as good as it is.
UPSIDE: Small size. Simple operation. I recently took it on a trip to Hawaii, and I was very pleased with the photo quality and even the videos. It was easy to carry in a pocket. As others have mentioned, this camera does quite well in dim light. The default settings are just what I want most of the time, but there are different modes that are fun to play with. It accepts xD and SD chips. A separate button for video mode simplifies video recording. DOWNSIDE: The battery life was not as good as my Fujifilm F10, and this may be because the front slide that turns the camera on can too easily be opened in one's pocket. There is no optical viewfinder, and in bright sunlight the LCD screen is hard to see. It is too easy to put your finger in front of the lens. Also, I would prefer more than 3x optical zoom (however, but with this size of camera without an extended lens, it does quite well). The audio portion of videos can be muddled in crowds or in noisy locations, and some music is quite distorted (although I have not found any digital camera in this price range that does as well). The video button is small and awkward to push, and first-time users often assume it is the power button, inadvertently starting a video recording when only wanting to turn the camera on. |
love itI've just had this camera a couple of days now, and haven't printed any pictures yet; but one of the main things I was looking for which is being able to get close for close ups works great. I had just tried and returned another small camera with 10mp, but it wouldn't focus up close like this one does.
I think I'll go print some pictures now! Fujifilm Finepix Z20fd 10MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Hot Pink) |
Fujifilm Finepix Z20fd Digital CameraThis is a great little camera for the cost. Takes great pictures on the default setting [anti-blur] and the other settings [like beach] work very well. And if you're worried about the slide on front accidentally coming open, it stays more secure than I thought it would but is still very easy to use, especially when you need to take a picture fast. Great camera, and the seller was excellent and shipped it fast as well.
|
Everything I wanted/needed and more!Ever since I started using digital cameras, I have been an avid Fuji devotee. When my last camera broke from being just dropped once, I knew I needed a durable camera, especially with a lens cover! This was has delivered from day one with crisp, clear, and vibrant pictures as well as a vast improvement of video quality!! I could not be happier. The only thing that was a bit of an adjustment for me was the size - it's so skinny, but that was a small thing to adapt to when there are so many other good things about it!!
|
Pretty good but I like my Cybershot betterIf you're limited on price - then this is a good camera, I returned mine though and decided to stick with my Sony Cybershot camera. The Fuji was great for indoor photos, even better than the Cybershot on some - but Sony won for outdoor shots although the Fuji photos were still fine. If I didn't have the Sony to compare it to, I would think this camera is excellent and you can't beat the price!
|
Pocket CameraThis is the camera to carry all the time. It meets the top specs and the top style.
|
love this camera!i love this camera. it was a fantastic price and it works great! i am always taking pictures with this camera! great color selection too! the only downfall is the program to upload the pictures on stinks! i am always having problems uploading my pictures from my camera onto my computer.
|
Amazing Little Camera!!!!I boutght this camera thinking that it sounded too good to be true. It had a lot of good reviews from other people. I was not disappointed when i took it on vaction with me. the pictures were all crystal clear and all the extra features are awesome. I t is also very small and compact which makes it easier to take with you everywhere you go.
|
very pleasedwe purchased this for my turning 12 year old daughter. She is downloading video and photos without any help from us. The price was great and the camera arrived 3 days after I ordered it so we were thrilled.
|
Great Camera, great priceThis is a really good camera, small and easy to use. It has many options that I was not expecting to find in a product for this price. Videos have a good quality and sound. However, I found that most of my pictures are not clear. When I passed to my computer and I use them as a background, I can notice the pixels on the pictures. I have not found the way to make them look better even when I am using the max resolution.
In conclusion, I am happy with the camera and its size. It is a great camera at a great price. |
I really wanted to keep it...This is a very attractive camera, with lots of cool features and very good screen. However, the core function of a camera, for me, is to take pictures, and in this respect the Z20fd failed.
I am not a `novice' user, but nor am I an expert. I don't even have the best eyesight in the world. I do not expect perfection from such a well priced product. However, it was clear to me from the outset that the picture quality on this camera was poor. Such was the good quality of the screen that I could tell without even downloading the pictures, that they were not good. When I downloaded them, they all clearly lacked definition and wereoverexposed. This was a couple of trial shots taken around the house and garden. I couldn't believe it! I therefore took a series of identical shots (on identical settings) with the Z20fd and my cheap old pocket Olympus (D-435). When the pictures were compared side-by-side, I was surprised to find that the Olympus was obviously better. I then showed the pictures to my wife, without telling her what camera took the pictures, and in every case she thought the Olympus was better. All the professional reviews of this camera agree that its picture quality is rubbish. I ignored them as I don't regard myself as expert enough to see or care about the imperfections they find. Instead, I decided to go with the all the positive feedback left here. Regrettably, I sent the Z20fd back and am looking for another camera. In the meantime I'll stick with my old Olympus. As I said, I am not one who expects the earth for a dime. I really wanted this snazzy little camera. But ultimately, it can't take a decent picture. (The reason I'm giving it two stars instead of one, is that it has loads of cool features and a good screen, so good, in fact, I immediately saw how crap it's pictures were.) |
Great little camera at a great little price!I purchased this camera for my daughter. She HAD to have a lime green camera and this one fit the bill. It takes great pictures and is very user friendly. I would definitely recommend this camera.
|
Very poor in low lighting - worse than prior versionsMy daughter has an old Fuji Finepix Z3 camera, and it took excellent pictures, daylight and night, just an all around good camera. Jealous, I purchased a Fujifilm Z5 a year so later. It was never as good a picture quality as the Z3, so when it broke in someone's purse, I didn't mind. I just replaced it with the Finepix Z20fd, and I must say, it's by far the worst camera I've used in years.
First of all, in low light situations, the pictures look tremendously grainy. If you let the flash kick in, everyone's face is whited out. There's no way to adjust the flash levels, you'll have two choices for photos at night: grainy or blasted out. Very disappointed, this is going back to the store the same day I purchased it! |
The best camera,I have ever owned!!!!!!!This is the best digital camera,I have ever owned,takes wonderful,pictures,and you can make movies,depending on the memory card size,I had a 2 gb memory card,so with the 2,I could make a movie,up to 80 minutes,and almost up to 800 pictures,I got a 4 gb memory card,to be able to take more pictures,with the 4,I could take almost up to 1600 pictures,and a movie,up 160 minutes,its awesome,love this camera,the BEST!!!!!
|
Great digital cameraI am a terrible photographer most of the time. I have had several " good " digital cameras in the past. But this one is very easy to use and actually makes my pictures look good. I would recommend it for small size, ease of use, and great pictures even for those of us who are not "photographers."
|
love it!great little camera! does everything i need it to do. not a professional, so i'm sure it actually does more, but for a basic first digi i like it. plus, i've never had any problems with a fuji...
|
Wonderful CameraThis is an amazing camera! I thoroughly researched my options before choosing this one & I'm glad I did. It was easy to learn how to use which was something I was looking for in a camera along with the color selection offered. This is a camera I highly recommend if you want something basic rather than complex. Don't worry about the picture quality as is clean, clear, & crisp. And a bonus I found is that when travelling in a car going around 60mph the pics turn out just as beautiful just as if you were standing still & the object was stationary.
|
Best Camera EverI have one Fuji camera, and this is the 2nd one I've purchased. I am so not disappointed! I love it! This is the only brand of digital camera I will ever buy. The features are wonderful, and the pictures ALWAYS turn out fantastic, even though I'm probably the worst photographer ever.
|
Excellent 'budget' Camera, Sub-par if you're used to mid-grade cameras.I bought this camera to replace my Kodak V603 Easyshare camera. I was looking to replace it with another like-quality camera, but with added megapixels & features. The Kodak originally cost me $279, so when I found this Fujifilm Finepix 10 megapixel camera for only $159, I was thrilled! I figured I would be getting WAY more bang for my buck. And on paper, it seemed like it had almost every feature that other, higher priced cameras have (like Canon's Powershot cameras). Well, I was disappointed after only a few hours. It takes lovely brightly colored pictures, INCREDIBLE close-up macro shots, but the shutter speed and response time left something to be desired. Also, the pictures all turned out a bit grainy, and with lots of purple edges when zoomed in all the way.
What it comes down to is quality of parts. Yes, this camera does everything it says it will, but not as well as higher priced cameras. You get what you pay for. If you're just looking for a fun point & shoot camera, and aren't picky about details, this would be an excellent camera. But don't replace a mid-grade camera with this one. You'll end up let down. I returned it and got the Canon Powershot SD1100, and am finally satisfied. |
Great camera for the price and features.I sell this, among other cameras at a retail store. So I knew what I wanted and liked before I purchased this.
Canon is pretty much the best, but it lacks a couple of things I wanted, that this camera has, such as a non-telescoping lens, and a dedicated movie button. The menu system is nice, and relatively easy to navigate, but does kick you out once you make a selection, which can get annoying, especially when first setting it up. The only really big downside for me is the fact that the zoom button isn't by the shutter. Since it is on the backside of the camera with the screen, it is hard to use one handed. Overall, the pros outweighed the cons. This isnt the absolute best camera, but for the price, its great, which is why I gave it four, instead of five stars. |
Sharp 'n EasyFujifilm Finepix 10MP camera is by far the best digital cam I have ever used. I have a higher end Canon 8MP and this blows those pix away. Ease of use and small portable size along with easy connectivity make this a real winner. BTW it cost $600 less than the Canon.
|
Fun Little cameraThis camera is so small I can take it anywhere.
The quality of the pictures are really good. Easy to use and very convenient. |
Probably could have found a camera better equipped for the moneyGood camera. I was looking for something different and I liked how the door slides in the front to turn the camera on and off and the zoom lens doesn't stick out like others. I was debating betweeen this and the Exilm. I went Fuji because I figured they have been in the camera and optics industry for a long time and would have the best quality. The quality seems great. A few downsides...The viewfinder to take the pictures in the front of the camera in the upper corner is usually where I put my left middle finger so once I found a few pictures taken with my finger in it, I had to remember to keep away. My girlfriend did the same thing so I know it's not just me. Also, I was hoping there would be a zoom availible when recording videos, but I don't see this availible. Lastly, this has a 3x zoom and so does my Cannon, but for some reason my Cannon seems to zoom much further.

Great Little Camera!I was very impressed with this camera. The picture quality was supurb and it was very easy to use. For those of you who are clumbsy or have kids that want to look at the picture you took "right away" this camera is perfect. Why do I say that? My last camera ( a Canon, which I also loved dearly) had a retractable lens. My son accidently dropped the camera on a carpeted surface and the lens bent and would not retract. Thus, my investment had to be trashed. The Fuji does not have a retractable lens and thus the problem has been eliminated! The bright colors are awesome! I am still learning about all the features, but I would recommend this camera to anyone!

Good Things Come In Small Packages!I recently purchased this camera to replace an older-than-dirt (at least in the world of technology) Sony Cybershot. It was the sleek design that attracted my eye, and the low price that kept it there! I first saw it at BJs for $140, and when I read the list of features, I thought it was too good to be true. I purchased it, and was amazed with the quality of pictures. I brought this camera on a trip to the White Mountains of NH last week, and was stunned by how many amazing shots I got. (Even my father, a long-time photographer, was amazed!)
Pros: -sleek, small design -lens cover that slides open, rather than one that you may take off and lose (or one that mechanically opens, and may freeze up like my Cybershot) -high MP value for such a low price! -multiple shooting/quality modes -fine zoom -lithium-ion battery has long life (I'd say 10 hours, but I honestly haven't paid much attention to that- it hasn't been a problem for me.) -high-quality video - picture AND sound. Even looks/sounds good when hooked up to my television. Cons: -low internal memory -lithium-ion battery needs to be charged (can't simply be replaced on the go) Other than that, I can't really complain! If you're looking to find a high-quality point-and-click with a small design and a small price tag, this one's for you! |
It ain't easy being greenThis is a "fair" camera - picture resolution is fine.
Recharging the battery is not as easy as with my other cameras. You must remove the battery and charge separately. Thus, when you want to take your camera and run, you must also remember to take the charger with you. Would be so much nicer if you could just plug the camera in and when it needs charging. |
Nancy in Trussville, ALFujifilm Finepix Z20fd 10MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Wasabi Green)What a little "neon green" gem. I purchased this little camera for its size and good reviews - and for the bright, cheerful colors offered....not to mention the very attractive price on Amazon. There have been many times when I was traveling (locally or longer trips) that I saw a scene I wanted to capture but did not have my camera with me. My Z20 is small enough to easily slip into my purse, or even a shirt pocket. And it is so easy to use - its ready to shoot the moment you slide back the lens cover. While my other camera has 10x optical and 5x digital zoom, and may be better for some shots, with the Z20's 10mp along with the 3x optical zoom, I can easily crop the picture to size and retain the clarity. And the review feature lets you zoom in to the smallest features in the picture to be sure you have critical areas in focus. It even has face recognition, which my more expensive camera does not. So , I am well pleased with my little Z20 and can't wait to capture the sights and colors of Autumn.

Nice little camera for the price.Nice little camera for the price. Wish all instructions for it's use were in the written manual and not on a cd.

Small, easy to useGot this camera as a gift. I gave it only four stars because it's a pain in the neck to tell people not to move when the flash goes off the first time (that's when it's focusing). I was taking a picture of my husband, the flash went off and he moved. I pressed the shutter down the rest of the way and it went off again. The picture turned out great. I'm used to having a viewfinder, so learning how to use the LCD screen is a new process. The camera is quite small, fits in my purse beautifully so I'll always have it ready. I like that it has face detection, anti-shake and redeye removal. Makes it easier just to download and print the pictures. The slider that covers the lens is a great timesaver. No more having to push buttons to turn off the camera, just slide the slider into position and your safe to go. I keep mine in a small case just so a pen or pencil that I always carry won't accidently push it back. A great little camera for the person on the go. Mine is the Wasabi green, I will never have to worry about someone picking it up thinking it's theirs.

great little cameraThis is a great up grade for those moms who have daring children and need to take a quick shot of them doing something that mom doesnt really want to see. It is significantly quicker than most of the older digitals that we had first. The delay between button and pic has diminished greatly. no this is not a slr type but frankly most moms i know with 3 or more (or less) kids dont have room for that in the diaper bag. Till the diaper bag is retired and I have time to hold a camera and not multiple hands at once this will fit perfectly in my bag be it purse or diaper. Not to mention the 10 megapixels make tightening and cropping better for later when you have time. Like 10 pm when all the house is asleep and Im catching a moment to myself. All told this will be catching a few more birthday cake moments before I get back into photograpy as a more serious hobby.

This camera has everythingI think Fuji outdid themselves with this product. The camera features are outstanding, including video, complete memory device support (xD or SD/SDHC), and a rechargeable battery with a battery recharger (among many other features). As more cameras reduce features to save costs and force consumers to buy add-ons and force proprietary hardware, Fuji is giving excellent quality features and providing the support to give consumers more options.
The MP and video I truly believe can't be beat with this point-and-click that works fantastic even in low-light with the flash off (who wants to use the flash anyhow?). |
excellent beginner cameraI have the 7MP version of this camera and it takes good pictures. They're a little grainy, but I haven't seen a digital picture that isn't grainy at full size. The files are great for printing.
The camera itself has stood up to rain and being dropped. The controls are easy to work and the handstrap is very sturdy. The battery lasts forever, too! Sometimes the flash can be a little too bright if you're too close to your subject, but that can easily be solved by backing away slightly or playing with angles. The macro images and portrait images are absolutely beautiful. |
Snazzy Little Camera That Gets the Job DoneThis vibrant little camera really does the job! Beautiful, clear photos and excellent resolution. Very easy to use and how can you not love the dazzling Wasabi Green color? I own 2 high-end professional cameras, but keep this one in my purse for impromptu photos & videos of my kids when we are out & about and it is perfect for the job!
