Great little camera but a few glitches
I purchased two of the M527 cameras with the 6220 dock. Both packages came with an instruction manual for the 6221 dock, which has more features than the 6220 dock, so the instruction manual doesn't pertain to this 6220 dock at all. But the 6220 dock is very basic so having no manual is not that important. One of the M527 cameras is very finicky when charging the batteries. It displays a status message that reads "Batteries cannot be charged" along with an error code, even though the rechargeable batteries that came with the camera are in place. When you enter the error code on HP's web site, HP's explanation is that either 1) the batteries are non-rechargeable, 2) the batteries are damaged, 3) charge the batteries using an external charger before using them for the first time, or 4) replace the batteries. I found that the green generic rechargeable batteries that came with the camera do not work even though I tried option 3 above. So I use Energizer rechargeable NiMH batteries and they charge fine. Also, the camera displayed an error message of "unsupported card" when I tried to use a 128MB SD card. A 512MB SD card and a 1Gig SD card both worked fine. Even with these glitches, I still rated the camera 4 stars because it takes great pictures, has a nice easy-to-use self-explanatory menu and comes with great HP software.
