Nice camera, but not well madeI bought two of these after checking out lots of reviews and have been very happy with them until recently when the battery doors on broke on both of them (after only 3 months!) The only way to keep it closed is with a rubber band around the whole camera. Nice pictures, but VERY disapointed in the quality.

Kodak EasyShare CX7330 3.1MP Digital Camera with 3x OpticalOK guys -- this is a great camera, definately good bang for the buck.... all these features for less than $150 is amazing - i love this camera and researched over 100 others..this is the winner! It's a digital camera and a camcorder - the movie function is great, zooming in and out works on camera or movie mode!
*Resolution of 3.1 MP *3X Optical Zoom lens (For zooming in and out while taking a pictre or movie) *3.3x Digital Zoom (for zooming your already taken pictures in and out on camera LCD screen) *autofocus for crisp prints *Bright 1.6-inch indoor/outdoor LCD *Automatic picture rotation *Built-in flash with auto, redeye, fill, and off modes *Multiple scene modes: auto, sport, landscape, close-up, and night *MOVIES! you can shoot as much video as you have storage capacity, either in the internal memory or on an optional memory card. * 16 MB internal storage! |
My husband enjoys this digital camera....My husband is an avid photographer, with a lot of praise for his work under his belt. He hikes constantly, and is in the local Allegheny Search and Rescue group, as well as Scoutmaster. So he needs a camera with him that can go on his belt and take pictures that can automatically be referred to. I bought him this camera a couple of years ago, and it has proven to be an excellent buy. Not only does it take fairly good pictures, but it is easy to use, and is lightweight enough to carry on his belt. When clambering down mountains looking for idiot Scouts who fell because they went where they were not supposed to go, he needs something lightweight. It also allows those professionals to see original pictures of how people landed, and where they were, so they can accurately treat them. My husband still wants the more expensive Nikon, but that will be for his own nature photography.
Good buy... Karen Sadler |
KODAK CREATED THE BEST CAMERA ON THE PLANETFor several years while other major camera companies were peddling their digital cameras, Kodak stayed out of the picture. (No Pun Intended) However, when Kodak saw the possibilities their company exploded creating some of the most awesome digital photography equipment on the planet.
One such camera is Kodak EasyShare Model CX 7330. Not much to say except buy it. Sharp pictures, Easy and quick download to your computer, fantastic prints, Exquisite Website pictures and much more. I purchased mine after returning the HP model without the optical zoom. Compared to that one, Kodak's Easy Share 7330 makes HPs look like an old Brownie. On a personal note, I use my camera to take pictures of every day appliances, such as tables, refrigerators, etc; things we take for granted. I share these pictures with my "Autistic" students in order to teach these wonderful jids basic everyday life skills. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK KODAK Steve Horwitz Teacher - Autistic Children |
easy to useI find this camera very easy to use. It takes really nice pictures and is small enough to fit in my purse. Only problem is it is not made well. The battery door no longer cleses on it's own, I have to tape it and the zoom button has fallen off for the 2nd time, 1st time I found it and put it back on, this time I wasn't as lucky. I think a camera should hold up better than this after only one year of use.

Mac CompatibleIncase anyone wanted to know, the camera comes with Kodak Software for the Mac, but if your using OS X with iPhoto, it will detect the camera, import the photos and allow you to edit, print and email as usual. Currently using Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) with iLife '05 but i expect it will work fine with iLife 04 as well. Picture quality is very good, easy to use. Not much else to be said that hasn't already been said. Hope this helps.

Very Good CameraI love this camera! It's inexpensive, takes good pictures, and has great battery life. And I love the video feature! I did wish it came with more memory, though. But I guess all digital cameras only come with 16MB.
The camera is very easy to use. I haven't had any problems with it yet! |
Great beginner digital camera! My husband got me this camera as a Christmas present. I had been reluctant to go digital...mainly because my friend's digital pictures always look so grainy and horrible. The pictures from this camera are anything but horrible! I am so pleased with the quality of the prints, and e-mailing photos is a snap! So far, I've mostly used the Auto function and the optical zoom. I have not tried the video function or the other scene settings. I print the photos on a Cannon Pixma6000ID printer with Cannon photo paper. I've printed them after downloading them to the PC and I've printed them by inserting the memory card into the printer. The results are the same either way. I can't tell the difference between those 4x6 prints and 4x6 prints from my Nikon 35mm. I've also printed a few larger prints and I really don't see much difference in the quality of those either. The Kodak software is fine for downloading, light editing, e-mailing or printing photos. I purchased a 64MB SD card for it and it stores about 65-70 pictures. I would definitely recommend getting rechargable batteries for it. The battery door and the memory card door look a little flimsy, but in all, the camera seems well-made. I like the fact that it is very compact and I especially like that it has a lense cover. I enjoy the instant gratification of being able to see my pictures as soon as I take them rather than waiting to have film developed. Also, it eliminates wasted film and photos since you can delete the bloopers before printing them! Overall, it seems to be a great camera for my family.

the best digital camera i could find for the pricei've bought this camera for my girlfriend and my mother and they both like it. it's really easy to use and the picture quality is great. don't believe anyone who tells you you need more than 3 megapixels. and this one has a real optical zoom, not just that b.s. digital zoom that a lot of the less expensive dig cams have. you definitely need a memory card though, because the camera itself only holds about 15 pictures.
|
Happy GrandmotherI bought one of these cameras for my son when his daughter was born. Since they enjoyed this camera and the pictures came out great, I decided it was time for grammy to get one as well. A great deal for the price.

Open box item? This camera was given to my sister as a gift. She indicated to me that the box had been opened, but the contents were intact and the package was complete. Seller indicated that this was an open box item. I reviewed the advertisement posted on Amazon. No "open box" indication was stated. It may be true that the seller's website made the open box statement. I have no way of knowing that other than the seller's statement. It would be nice if Amazon could document the status of purchased goods that are advertised on the website but available off-site. The camera appears to be working fine.

Good CameraI have this camera and love it! I was opposed to going digital as a photo buff for the past 30 years. I bought it to get some pix for on-line auctioning- now I use it all the time. The video feature is also handy (not great quality, but it captures the moment), especially when you can only bring a camera into a concert. The price is exceptionally good for this product and I would highly recommend it for the digital beginner or someone who just wants a small camera.

Great SUPER BASIC point and shoot camera outlasted my Nikon! You know, The camera is only 3.1 mega pixels, has pretty much basic features, and is just a point and shoot type camera... but.... this camera is great.
This was my first digital camera. It took fabulous pictures. Please note that on occassion, I would take a picture and it would look like someone smeered vaseline on the picture, but I found that turning the camera off than back on again solved the problem. Many pictures have been blown up and are on my wall. This is a great camera for up to 10x12's. I had no problems for these sizes at all. It doesn't take the greatest pictures in near dark low light conditions, I'd say that 6 out of 10 of my dark shots turned out with low noise. I really love this camera and use it to this very day. When this camera was a little over a year old, I purchased a nikon 8700 and one year later, the nikon...which was taken great care of, is rendered useless. This know almost 3 year old camera is still tiking away producing great photos. Even after heavy heavy abuse... This thing is solid!!! Conclusion: Fabulous beginner point and shoot camera with easy to use basic menues. Great short clip video capabilities. Clear Crisp pictures and awesome color. Very close to actual color. Sufficient resolution for fabulous pictures... I will post some of my pictures in a few days.... This camera is mega awesome... durable... and reliable............ Wish they made higher end cameras as well.......... I rated a 4 out of 5 due to the very occasional blurred/smeared problem that happened only about once every 300 pictures, and the fact that the lowlight capabilities are a little... just a little disappointed.. over all I highly recommend!!!!! If I could give 4 and 3/4 stars that is what I would rank this camera as, but I can't so it gets a 4/5..... |
Excellent Basic CameraWhile researching to buy a digital camera I narrowed my search down to two Kodak Easy Share cameras. This was the one I bought because the other model I wanted was not available where I bought it. The only downside to this camera is, like many have said, is when you turn it off it resets your chosen flash settings. The initial battery does not last long at all, but I recommend a pack of Energizer E3 batteries as they have quite a long life, or the rechargeable batteries Kodak recommends. It also has an auto-shutoff feature to conserve batteries. This camera is great for taking basic pictures. I enjoy taking pictures of scenic views and using them as a screen saver, or just family and friends photos then creating an online album to share with everyone. Pictures do print nicely as well, depending on the printer and paper. I definitely recommend this camera to anyone who likes to take pictures but has a smaller budget.

Lots of money for a piece of junkThis camera is absolutely horrible. As for picture quality, you can't get close-ups well, and I have never had a camera give so many red-eye pictures. On Halloween, I took 14 photos, both inside and ooudoors in daylight and dark, and 10 of my photos had red-eyed children in them. Would have been fine had they dressed as monsters, but red eyes on a princess and cowboy, just not attractive. When I first downloaded the software, it wouldn't work. I called, and spoke to someone in India, who told me that this camera software is not very compatible with WinME. Well, I can't afford a new computer to go with the camera. After a lot of hassle, it worked. But it really does take about 60 seconds to download each picture. Lo and behold, my computer wouldn't work a couple of months later, because of a 'kernell' problem. I had to re-install Windows. Now I try to use the software again (which worked last week) and won't work - there's a 'kernell' problem. Hmmm. And the 'fix' on their website won't download. WAY too much money for nothing but difficulties - I've had $25 cameras work so much better! I shoulda stuck with Sony or Minolta.. or Fuji, or a disposable.

Pretty good but Move on...I've had this camera for 2 years. For a 3 Mp camera, it takes fantastic shots with bright colors indoor and outdoors.
It has slow auto focus and a lot of lag between pictures while its processing the file, is USB 1.1, eats up AA batteries (dont they all) and is not really pocket size. Not a lot of manual controls but a very good first timer camera. However, there are newer and better cameras out there for the price now. |
Awesome camera!I love my camera! I've had other dig. cameras, but this one is easy to use, cost was minimal, and takes amazing pictures! The other features I love about this camera is all the settings you have for picture taking...time/date stamp, sports/action, and the video quality is amazing! I've had so many people ask me what kind of camera I have because my pictures come out so nicely.

Keep looking...This was my second digital camera. The first one...can't even remember the brand... just quit working. Other than that I was very happy with it. A major difference between the two was that the other camera used a lithium battery and I gave it the "brand new baby" test. I had it over a year and never did replace the batteries and I can't even estimate how many photos I took. This Easyshare was given to me for Christmas and I replaced the AA batteries twice by the end of Christmas day. Fortunately rechargeable batteries have solved that problem. Other than that, not bad cameras until you learn how to work with digital photos. Now I understand that it isn't normal for the viewing screen to be too dark to see the photo subject. Even when the light was pretty moderate, if I zoomed in I could not see the photo. I have to take test pictures to see how they came out. Even then I often don't get the picture centered. My oldest daughter who is quite technology savvy, told me that I should be able to adjust the contrast to correct the problem. Neither of us was able to find a way to fix it. There is a lot of red eye but can be solved with the edit features available on most photo viewing software. Of course I'd have a lot more time on my hands if I just didn't have the red eye in the first place. I didn't like the camera software. It was a royal pain in the rear. It had a photo tutorial that always loaded at start up. Every time, every day. Unless of course it froze up and messed up my whole computer until I had to restart the computer. Even customer support couldn't help me make it stop. I only had peace after restoring my computer and using Adobe Photo Shop to download my pictures. I don't use the provided software any longer and am much happier. Had I known then what I know now, I'd have kept looking.

real nice!I just love this camera. It takes great photo's and its very easy to use. Excellent choice for beginers and still a good pick if taking pictures is your main thing. I had this camera for a while now and it still works like new. The only problem i had is that, i droped it once and the battery cover came off instantly and i had difficulty making it stay on. Overall, this is a great pick!
|
Great...if it works!Over the past two years, I have purchased four Kodak EasyShare cameras -- one for me and one for each of my adult children. They take great pictures and video clips and are pretty easy to use.
Unfortunately, not one of them lasted more than a year. They just stop working! I went back to Circuit City where I had purchased them, and the sales clerk told me that he had the same thing happen to his and his sister had the same thing happen. Please don't waste your money. Get something that will last! |
Good BuyThis was my first camera that I bought and it takes GREAT photos. The closeup mode works really well. In fact, once I took a picture of my sea monkies and they came out really nice! Comparing to my other friend's camera's, they all say that mine takes great photos for that price.

EmilyThis camera has been excellent to me- I've had it for over a year, and it still works despite my penchant for dropping electronics. It's easy to upload pictures on any computer (I've used it with a Mac and a Wndows OS). It's also very easy to use even without reading the manual.
It takes excellent pictures unless you're using it at night. The night setting is very sensitive to light and even if you think that it's dark, your picture may reveal a lot of outside light in the form of blurry lines when you look at it. Your other option is to use the auto setting and then just fix the picture using the computer. It also doesn't automatically use the View Finder to take photos. I don't mind this, but it's confusing for other people. It's easy to change to using the View Finder if you prefer that, but it runs the batteriers down more quickly. As long as most of your pictures are daytime pictures, an excellent camera. |
Camera breaks a lotI bought this camera in December of 2003 by October of 2004 it wouldn't work any more. The display gave an error code #e45. I sent it back and they replaced the camara. A year later the new one wouldn't work and gave the same error code. It was no longer under warranty and they want to charge $110.00 to fix it. What a piece of junk!

MediocreThis camera is good for beginners but there are better ones out there for a similar price. I've had this camera for about a year now, and I've become more and more fustrated with it.
-NOT GOOD for indoors. When you use Automatic mode, the flash isn't strong enough and the picture as a whole comes out very grey. When you use the Night mode, the colors are distorted and the quality is poor and blurry, despite me having a very steady hand. Even in ideal lighting, the colors are dull and the quality is poor. -Horrible macro mode. -Poor picture quality without flash. Even with flash, the picture quality is not up to par. +Excellent video mode. Good video and good sound. Endless duration. -EATS UP BATTERIES very quickly. Do not settle for this. Since this camera came out, there are many other cameras with far superior battery lifes, some lasting up to a month worth of fairly constant picture-taking. Can't go more than an hour with this camera. All in all, if you are looking for this type of camera (very simple, point-and-shoot, cheap) then you may want to look at some other models first. There are quite a few downfalls to this camera. |
Great cameraI love this camera!! It is so easy to use--easiest that I have found. I take a lot of pictures and it does exactly what I need it to do. It takes great pics!! They are so clear and sharpe. I would recommend it to anyone!!
|
Decent buy for the moneyI have had this camera for a year and a half now and I have to say, it is a good little camera. It takes great, clear pictures, and has held up to lots of wear and tear. My only problem with it, and it's the reason I am buying a different brand next time, is the battery life!!! It sux!!! As in, sucks the life out of batteries in no time flat! I have learned to not use the LCD screen if neccessary, to save batteries, but even then, they don't last long. Overall it's a good camera, but if you are looking for long lasting battery life, this is not the camera for you. If you don't mind charging your lithium batteries all the time, or going through AA batteries like candy, then this is the camera to get.
|
Overall, a good cameraI've had my Kodak for about two years now, and it's been a great little camera, with a few important drawbacks.
It takes reasonably clear photos, especially considering that it's only 3.1mps. I've made 8x10's which have been quite good although it does best at 5x7 size. There are a few things that are a bit off-putting. First is the length of time it takes this camera to get ready to shoot from an "off" position. Second, there is a considerable shutter lag, even when you've done the requisite prefocusing which can be a problem if you plan to shoot subjects "in action". Third, this camera is not at its best in indoor lighting situations using the flash, although my husband points out that I am also incredibly picky where my photos are involved, so others may not be as bothered by variations in skin tone as I am. That said, this is an amazing little camera I would recommend to anyone. It's sturdy, and can take a few accidental bumps without breaking. It can create some really good photos. And, for the mp number, the resolution is great. |
Its all about the battery3.1 M Pixels is a little low by today's standards, but is adequate for many common uses (web pages and 4x6 prints). This camera takes good quality pictures in most common situations. It could be a great 1st camera for a teenager if it was reliable.
I noticed other reviews expressing unhappiness about battery life. I went with rechargable NiMH from the beginning and had no problems with battery life. Unfortunately, the battery compartment is a particularly poor design. It is a fragile design that not only covers the battery, but forms one side of the battery contacts. Other cameras use a separate mechanism internally to hold the battery in place and create mechanically strong contact. The outer cover in those designs is cosmetic. As small pieces of the cover break off the battery compartment door will continue to close, but will not properly lock in place and will not produce enough pressure to make electrical contact. The result is that camera operates intermittently. I bought 2 of these cameras for my teenage girls. Both cameras had to be returned (one of them twice) within a few months of purchase because the plastic battery compartment door broke. While they were replaced by Kodak, the replacements had the same problem. In less than a year after purchase both camera's were permanently out of service. Overall a waste of money. |
Good quality photos, lacks manual controlI got this camera for Christmas in 2004 after seeing it in the flyer at Circuit City. I was so happy, I had finally gotten a REAL digital camera (previously I had owned a cheap Vivitar 3555 with no optical zoom). As this camera nears the end of it's second year of use, it has sustained little damage unlike others have contested, and image quality is still high above par for a 3 MP camera.
Pros * Great bang for your buck, got this camera for $150 and has lasted 2 years * Exceeds expectations of 3 MP camera. Quality was unsurpassed by any other comparable camera * Good ergonomics * Simple controls for the beginning user * Optical zoom performs flawlessly * Lens seems to be of good quality, despite being manufactured by Kodak instead of a more prestigious company Cons * Seems to be "hit and miss" on durability, in my case more of a "hit" * Flash does not suffice in certain situations * Battery life sucks (get rechargeables, work somewhat better) * No EVF (electronic viewfinder) * Screen can sometimes be hard to see, especially in bright settings * Horrendous Kodak software (use a memory card reader instead) Although this camera has outlasted over 1500 photos across the United States, she is being retired as of this October. I have felt the need to take photography to another step, graduating to the super-zoom Panasonic DMC-FZ7. I confirmed this preliminary choice when I dropped this camera in San Francisco on vacation, cracking the plastic over the LCD screen. Amazingly, the screen still works; just goes to show its durability (in my case that is). I would recommend this camera to any beginner user, yet there are cameras of comparable price that are better, as this camera is 2 years old. |
Affordable digital camera; nothing more, nothing lessThis is a pretty standard digital camera; for those of you who want something simple and easy to use, without many advanced/special features, this is a good camera for you.
Pros: -Easy to use; the buttons are pretty much right in front of you. -6 different modes; an auto for general use, one for objects in motion, one for dark scenes, one for landscapes, and one for close-ups. It also has a video option. -It's not incredibly small, but it'll fit in your pocket. -If you turn the live view off (where you see the image on the screen before taking the photo), the battery life is pretty good (just don't take many videos). A few days ago, I took about 60 pictures and about 10 videos that were about 20 seconds each. Cons: -It can't take pictures in the dark. Or, for that matter, anything without a big, visible light source. When in auto mode, the pictures become waay to dark and undefined, but the shutter speed for the night mode is ridiculously long, so no matter how still your subject/hand is, it'll be too blurry. -The batteries fall out easily. Twice during concerts, I've lost batteries because I rubbed against the bottom of the camera. -The zoom isn't terrific. In fact, it doesn't really 'zoom in' at all; the closest you can get on any mode except for close-up is the same as you'd see through your naked eye. But that's where the close-up feature comes in handy. (It's only if you want great detail on objects near you, such as flowers; any further and it's just a big blur) -Without a tripod and a still subject, it's hard to get clear photos on the night and close-up mode. You can get decent photos with this camera under the right conditions, but this is just a simple camera for unprofessional images. Probably good if you're on a family vacation to Disneyland, or on an outing with friends. In broad daylight, that is. It's not necessarily a bad camera, but it was insufficient for my needs. And yes, this is a horrible camera to take to concerts. |
Grerat camera stillI bought this little guy with my second paycheck as a teacher. That was about threee years ago and to this day I still have no desire to look for a different camera. This little guy is awesome.
I highly recommend you learning how to get a steady hand if you want to use the digital zoom but that goes with every digital gadget around. If you can hold a camera still (I sometimes use a tripod, the same one I use for my video camera) you can get great shots. I have taken pictures in the mountains of Colorado from Golden (Lookout Mountain) and have good pictures of the Denver Skyline. Low light pictures are not the best. My wife used the camera when we were in St. Peters Basilica and the quality dropped. I will let you decide if it was the lighting or the user :) The auto function on the camera is excellent for almost all types of pictures. You could buy the camera and never use any of the other functions (not real fun though) and get great pictures. Great camera |
Great at first, Horrible AfterwardsI've had this Camera for going on 4 years now. I must say, for the years that I've owned it, there is absolutely no excuse for the lack of battery life. In the beginning everything was working fine. This camera has sustained about a good month of use throughout the years. It is greatly disappointing to learn that my camera is suffering a slow demise, despite the limited use. DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA! There have been far too many sporting events that have been ruined just because I couldn't record a homerun at a baseball game, or capture a slam dunk at a basketball game. It pains me to give this camera a poor review, because it was reliable at first. But it has severed rules of engagement with its user. Do not buy this item, nor receive it as a gift!
|
Great little cameraThis camera doesn't have a cool look, though it does a great job! The photos are not that good when it is displayed on the LCD screen. Once you uploaded it to the PC, the quality is much better. I first thought that this wouldn't be a decent camera because it is only 3MP. But it turns out that I like it so much that I am not even bothering to look for a higher MP camera. I strongly recommend this camera!

Short life span, good while it lasted.I bought my Kodak Easyshare CX7330 in February of 2005. It did well although the older it got, the more it ate batteries. With the money I have spent on batteries I would have been better off getting one with a charger and a pack. I have also tried every type of AA battery out there and it is the camera itself with the issues. Now, 2 and a half years later it has taken it's last pictures. The trouble began with when I would turn it on the indicator light would pop up green, then immediately flash red and the lens would not extend out. Sometimes it would work, sometimes not. Now I can put fresh batteries in and if I hold it just right I can take a few pictures, then the low battery icon comes on the screen and it goes dead, even without retracting the lens. As I said, it was a great little camera while it lasted, but I think I will get something more hardy next time.

Great starter camera!I purchased a refurbished model in December 2005 and fell in love with it instantly. I was a bit bummed at first because I could only afford 3 megapixels, but this camera takes amazing pictures! I am a photography buff and this camera (3 megapixels and all) fed my fetish perfectly. Unfortunately, I recently lost my camera to a hail storm and because I loved this EasyShare so much, I replaced it with another EasyShare model (C713 in pink). It would have lasted me much, much longer, but even though it is a well-made, high-quality camera, it is no match for mother nature.
I definitely recommend this camera to anyone who is just starting out in photography or needs an easy-to-use, no-frills model for the family. I would even recommend it for children and am also considering buying one for each of my nephews (ages 8 and 6). In fact, it is so easy for kids to use, they have borrowed it from me on occassion and have taken some great snapshots. |
