| We did not receive any underwater images for this product, yet. If you have already taken underwater pictures with this product we would appreciate it very much if you decide to make the first submission. Other potential underwater photographers and videographers will certainly be deeply grateful for that. And who knows, maybe you will become the next number one underwater photographer? ..or maybe not. But some of our contributors were already able to earn some money with the images they published on this site. Unfortunately we do not see anything from this loot. But anyway, you are invited to submit your image by clicking here. This service is completely free of charge. | ||||
Perfect Little Digital CameraGood value when bought thru Amazon. The camera is very small, but full featured. Full auto still shots produce great photos, yet if you prefer, it allows aperture/shutter speed priority for more control. The buttons, switches and controls are placed where they are easy to find without looking and the on-screen display lets you see what you will get. I recommend this camera.

AWESOME cameraI am very pleased with this camera. I bought it in hopes of replacing the Canon Sure shot that I had that took blurry pictures. This camera is the nicest digital camera I have seen. It is below a SLR digital, when in reality, it takes about the same kinds of photos as an SLR digital. If you are a professional photographer, you could do wonders with this camera and get awesome results. The LCD screen will show up fuzzy when viewing the image..BUT, once you take the photo, it comes out crystal clear. I am very much pleased with the performance of this camera. When I figure out how to work the image sharing on Amazon, I will show you some sample images from some of the modes the camera offers. I think anyone who buys this camera, and reads about all of the features and knows how to work it properly will love it. Like anything, you need to read instructions to see how it works, what does what, etc. From each mode I tried, this camera took a nice clear shot with amazing detail. Anyone who buys this camera will not be disapointed. It is a quality item. Also, very light weight and small. Great camera with a very affordable price.

Good and Not so GoodNOT SO GOOD --- I received the camera and used it for about 2 weeks and then the lens would not go back into the camera. So, I changed the battery...still would not go back in. SO, I looked on the internet for possible causes. On the Kodak website, it told me to send it in. I was not happy because I had just gotten this camera. I sent it in and they sent it back saying there is nothing wrong with it. The camera works fine now, but give it two weeks and then I'll tell ya if it still works.
GOOD --- This camera takes excellent pictues. It is easy to use and download to the computer. I am really pleased with the camera overall. It just does not make sense that it would not work and then they said there was nothing wrong with it. |
You'll like itI just purchased the Kodak z650 and have taken a number of pictures. It's easy to use and learn all the functions. Before buying this camera I looked at a number of cameras. I picked this one because of cost, zoom, and mega pixels. I looked at the Kodak z740 which is being replaced by this model and for a few more dollars you can get this model which takes better quality pictures and has the histogram feature.
A read reviews and a number of people complained about having the zoom without image stabilization. Well, when I took pictures at full zoom, even using the digital zoom, the picture was shaky in the view finder but came out clear. The 10x zoom is very nice even without image stabilization. The price of this camera for the features is incredible. That is why I picked this camera over others. Read the reviews. This camera gets good reviews, even from the professionals. For the price you won't go wrong. |
Good shots, usuallyI've had the camera for just over two months. It is my first digital camera. I've probably taken two thousand pictures now.
GOOD POINTS: Most of the pictures I take are great pictures. BAD POINTS: Sometimes it seems I have to wait forever for the auto-focus to focus on the subject. By the time the auto-focus focuses on the subject, the subject moves and I have to go through the whole thing all over again. I wish there was a way I could manually focus the camera. |
Great Buy!This purchase was to replace a 3.1 MP Kodak EasyShare camera bought in 2001. I have been extremely pleased with its performance. I needed more zoom capacity, and I've got it! I can crop my photos and still print poster sized prints from them with clarity. It is easy to use and sized perfectly for your hands.
|
Good CameraI like this camera and it's really easy to use. I like the big screen and it helps you understand things without reading the whole book. I did turn off the display of the pictures...it held the picture a little too long,,,i wanted to take pictures faster....but since you can turn it off...that's not a complaint.

Lens Cap ProblemAfter a lot of research I chose the Z650 for a good balance of price and features. I can only highly recommend this camera. Some reviewers have knocked the loose fitting lens cap, which is a pain in the neck. When I got my camera I could see the problem so I found a work-around. I attached the 55mm adapter that's provided with the camera and use a standard 55mm lens cap with a cap-keeper. It makes the whole camera a little more bulky but it's worth it. If you really want to do it right you should screw in a cheap UV filter first to protect your lens from scratches.
|
a bit too bulky but I love it...Here are some of the major problems with the EasyShare z650 for me:
Like other people have mentioned, if your hand accidentally grazes the lens cover, it's going to pop off. I needed a camera with a better zoom capacity because I take a lot of outdoor wildlife shots. However, I never really use the full 10x zoom because there's no image stabilization. The lack of stabilization is really apparent when you're zoomed far out. It's sort of tricky to hold the camera perfectly still and not end up with a blurry print. And finally, I'm taking this camera with me everywhere which is a bit of a problem because it's huge! There is no way to subtlety bring this thing anywhere. With all that said though, I love my camera. I've taken some of the best shots of my life with it. This weekend, I'm off to Yellowstone and practically drooling to capture animals, geysers, etc. with my 650. When using the zoom, you just need to be conscientious of stabilization and brace your arms against your side to hold the camera perfectly still. This camera's also great for someone who wants to improve their photo quality but doesn't want a manual camera. There is an auto function for picture taking (will automatically adjust flash, etc.) but there's a host of other options as well. The two I've used most often are `museum' which keeps the flash and sound off and `night portrait' which adjusts for taking close-up photos at night. Overall, I'd recommend this camera...but be aware of the short failings. |
Kodak Z650Excellant camera very satisfied. I went to a Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill concert and it worked great. Easy to use.
|
Lots of features in a little packageI looked at tons of digital cameras before I purchased this one and I'm glad I went with the Kodak z650. If you are looking for a digital that is many steps above a simple point and shoot, gives you lots of manual options and creative control, but isn't bulky, this is it. This is the smallest and lightest of all the high-zoom, manual-empowered digitals I looked at. It's fully featured, but intuitively designed - you can take it out of the box and start shooting, but you can also do so much more. For the price, this is a great buy.
|
Amazing Pictures, Good PriceI wrestled with getting something more expensive like the Canon Powershot S3. Then I thought about something a little cheaper like the Kodak EasyShare Z740. I eventually decided to pay a little bit more and get Amazon's deal on the Z650. I was a little concerned with some of the complaints about the zoom and how slow it was in certain lighting settings. I haven't had any problems with it at all. It's a quality zoom. The camera is very sharp looking. The features are excellent. The video is even great on this camera. I'm extremely satisfied with it. We got this when our old Powershot broke because we have a 7 month old baby and needed it to take pictures of her. We've been extremely satisfied!
|
RETURN TO SENDERGot this camera, right out of the box defective. Had to return
it and get a refund. The LCD screen would not go on, so you could not review any pictures or go to menu. The veiwfinder button switch was operational so you could view, click and shoot, but could not use the LCD screen for anything. |
Kodak Z650 - Totall y Awesome! This camera is a gem. The Easy Share Software that comes with it is teriffic also. You can enhance your pictures (if they are too dark or too light), crop, make a "fish-eye" view which makes the picture much more interesting. But back to the camera, the zoom is great. It has built in memory so you will only get about 12 pictures depending on your setting (which is easy to change with 6.1 being the highest). You will definately want to get a memory card. The 512 memory is plenty big enough for the average picture taker with keeping your 6.1M setting. Highly recommended!
|
We love it.This is the first camera we have had that completely replaced our film cameras. We love it. It is excellent.
|
Great camera for the moneyI have owned my Z650 for a couple weeks now and can say that it has been nothing less than perfect. I am not a professional photographer by any means. I am just the average "take a few here and there" kind of guy who likes a quality photo result. This camera has all of the features that a novice should need...and probably more. My old camera was simple to use as well, however, I always got blurry photos no matter what I tried. The zoom on this camera is superior to any digitals I have seen or tried. Additionally, this camera is very light weight and compact enough to pack into glove compartments or consoles in most cars.
If I had to recommend one additional item to purchase, it would be some sort of protective case. I use the neck/shoulder strap and always fear the camera swinging and striking some statonary object. A case of some type will be on my shopping list very soon. |
No zoom in movie mode. Does not support 2GBExcellent camera. Love it. Too good picture quality. Zoom is excellent but only problem is that there is no Zoom in movie mode. so once you start recording, you cant change zoom. also it supports upto 1 GB SD card only. otherwise great camera
|
Excellent purchaseThis camera takes great pictures. The only problem is that is very heavy, so when you are going to take a picture in museum mode (which requires to hold it for some seconds) the pictures may be moved since your hands can not hold the camera stable while taking it. But, further this logical inconvenience, it is an excellent election and makes easy the art to taken pictures.
|
Excelente!
ExcellentCamera have a "scene" selection mode that made too easy take picture in many different conditions
|
Cameras & LifeIf you already have Kodak EasyShare software as I did for another Kodak Camera you may not want to upload/download/utilize the disc. :) I hate certain things being put on my computer. Just want the minimum usually.
You'll need the memory card which evidentally doesn't come with the camera though it should. (Did I really need 10x zoom?) Camera is ok. I have yet to figure it out. Why can't all platforms within the same company work with all products from the same company at least??? |
5 stars for what it isJust got the camera. I used to own Canon S70, which is better in everything besides the zoom. Unfortunately, my old canon was stolen, so I had to look for a temporary replacement, until I can afford a nicer one. Well, my search stopped at this Kodak. I got it for $200 only, which is great.
Everything works great so far. I cannot comment on the life of batteries, but I bought 4 recharchable ones and a recharger, so I doubt I would ever run out of power. I also got a 512M card, as the medium picture size is around 2-2.5M each. Zoom works fine. I would say it's great for such camera. Of course you cannot zoom fully and expect that leaves on a tree would be in perfect focus, but it takes great pics in full zoom, so if you question that capability, disregard all negative feedback on this issue. It takes pics in nice color. I would say 'full' color. Blue is blue and green is green. I've heard that Kodaks were good in this, so i can only confirm that rumor now. As for the rest of functions, I have not had enough time yet to experiment with everything, as the school has already started for me, so I only have so much each day to devote to my new toy. I hope I'll have time in a week or so to post more comments on other features, but to all who are considering this camera, I would say this: it's not too small, but fits in one hand nicely, it's 6M pixel, so takes nice resolution pics, which are below 3M each it has nice zoom it takes nice color So, for this camera with its price, I gave it 5 stars. If you are looking for superior performance or quality, look at cameras that start at $700 or $800 - you would not find anything in this price range that would satisfy your need. (I am looking into buying a $800 camera myself, so I've done a lot of research trying to get a nicer bargain with a cheaper camera and found out that there is too much of a gap between any 'cheap' camera and what I really want). Hope I could be helpful |
Amazing camera!Just got this camera today and already, I've been taking amazing pictures. It's very, very easy to use (the manual is a little vague.. you have to figure out some stuff on your own, but it's really easy) and you'll be snapping away at pictures in no time.
The different settings and features on this camera are wonderful. They actually make a difference and really help with the focus and quality of the picture. I find everything about this camera great. All the buttons are in easy-to-find places, the screen display is really nice, the zoom really closes in on your subject, and you can go from automatic to manual settings really easily. I've been taking my pictures at a 6.0 resolution, and it stills takes the picture fast. The camera is a little bulky, but it's still a fairly small camera. I really haven't found the weight to be an issue as it's not as heavy as perceived. The only drawback I find is that the display screen appears to be slightly grainy when you're taking the picture. When you actually load the pictures or look it at on the review, it's not grainy at all. It's only a slight drawback though, but it's really the only thing I find to not be as great as it could be. You also want to make sure you push the button down ALL the way when you're taking a picture. Overall, I find this camera to be wonderful. I haven't had to it long enough to comment about the battery life or anything, but, already, I'm in love with it. |
AmazingThis camera is great. You can take a close up of a flower, then with the press of a button capture a bald eagle, then take landscapes. Incredibly handy. I love it!
|
Great Novice CameraI've been using the z650 for about 4 months now. I'm no pro, but I think I would qualify above the average everyday camera user. I chose the z650 for various reasons including 10X zoom, 6MP, Kodak easy-share system, and because it is a good camera for beginers looking to take the next step up in overall photo quality. I never opened the manual and was using all the features almost instantly (I would say I'm moderately technology literate), but if you struggle with tech you will probably be reading through the quick start booklet. The 2.5 camera screen is good for getting an idea of what your shot looks like, but the real photo is much more brilliant and sharp than the what shows on the screen. Did I mention the ease of use factor. Get the UV filter for the camera, they're cheap and really help with outside shots! Also, plan on getting a large memory card and an additiona set of rechargable lith batteries. Overall, I would highly recommend this camera for the basic camera user looking to take the first step into photography. (Saw some gripes about the weight, but unless your counting grams in the backcountry this camera is really quite light and can be taken anywhere)
|
Great Camera at Great Price PointGreat Camera! The picture quality is excellent. Love the 10x optical zoom and many different scene modes available. The easy share software makes it easy to view, print and share the pictures. It is definitely not a pocket camera but feels like a professional camera in your hands. To me, that is a good thing. Buy the camera, a large storage card and start shooting!

Good camera, Terrible softwareWhen you're looking at a camera, you rarely read much detail about the software. The manufacturers only focus on the camera details. While this a great camera, the software and limitations of the proprietary Easy Share program make uploading your pictures a terrible experience. If you are happy with the Easy Share software, this camera will work fine for you. However, if you are like me and prefer to use advanced photo editing programs, you will despise this camera. Yes, it comes with a USB connection. But Kodak has limited you so that ONLY the Easy Share software recognizes the camera to transfer pictures. You cannot access the camera or pictures through My Computer, Windows Explorer, or any other photo software. You MUST use the Easy Share program to transfer pictures, and then they go into Kodak "albums" in the software. I did not believe this could possibly be true with a USB connection, but after spending 20 minutes on the phone with Kodak support, I was assured it was designed this way. The camera will not be recognized by Windows XP or anything other than the Kodak Easy Share software. Besides this being annoying, it is problematic if your software crashes and you have no other means to get your photos off your camera.
It is cumbersome to continually switch the photo destination to this or that folder if you choose to organize them differently. Kodak always wants to create a new folder within a folder. It's truly awful. The software also does not display the photo name, size, date taken, etc. You can resize only by printed size (4x6, etc) as opposed to pixels. For many users the software will be fine, but if you are accustomed to advanced photo editing, organizing, and so on, you will be severely limited. I am debating between returning my camera because of the software issues, or buying an SD card reader to read my pictures independent of Kodak's software. |
Best Camera yetI had been looking for a good camera for a long time. This one is lightweight, easy to use, and easy to download pics from. I would recommend it to anyone that is wanting a good camera at a low price. You can purchase extras for it, such as filters and another zoom lens if you like.
|
Great for the PriceKinda big in today's world of "...smaller is better..." but has advanced features and you can't beat the zoom & megapixels!
|
Oswaldo Vera VENEZUELAFor my instance I think this product is excelent mainly by the price. This camera is more small than they appear, but is very funtional, generating great photos but the video is not the same, is deficient, whitout the audio is amazing, I dont have nothing more to tell, I very pleased whit my camera Kodak EasyShare Z650!
|
Upload pics without EasyShare softwareI haven't had this Z650 camera long enough to evaluate its performance, but I ran into a problem with software. I do not want to use Kodak's software which creates its own photo files. I have my own graphics files established which are use for graphic design. I have Windows XP Media Center. There are two ways to avoid using the camera EasyShare software: 1) Do not load Kodak software, but instead use plug & play. Plug USB cable into both camera & computer, turn camera on. Photos will automatically upload using Windows My Pictures program. 2) Remove SD memory card from camera & insert it in SD reader port on computer. Photos are automatically reconized & uploaded through My Pictures. I don't recommend the 2nd choice as pulling the memory card out of the camera & then inserting into the computer reader can cause wear & tear on the card. So far, the camera has taken excellent high quality detailed photos. Primarily, my photos of are animals & outdoor scenes, including flowers. Animals move around a lot, & sometimes capturing just the right shot without blurring is difficult. The Z650 catches every detail. The camera is somewhat bulky for a digital, but it's easy to use.
|
Worth the purchaseWith the birth of our son approaching I needed a new digital camera. I picked this camera because of the price, the zoom, and the good online consumer reviews and have not been disappointed. For a very affordable price the quality of the pictures has been very good.
The only thing I do not like is that it takes the camera 5-10s before it is ready to take another picture. |
Great CameraThis camera as we would say in Jamaica "sell off" meaning it is a great product. Great for taking pictures day and night, and the video option is great.
|
Camera appeared to have been opened and used.Camera appeared to have been used. Box had been opened. I sent it back free of charge and money was promptly refunded by Amazon.com.
|
Great little camera! This was a birthday gift I bought for myself, and I have been very happy with it! My only complaint is that my computer system is not that old, and I was unable to install the accompanying software because I don't have Windows 2000 or higher. Luckily, I had already installed an older version of EasyShare software, and that works just fine. I have used the camera to take fabulous shots of my 10 year old playing soccer (10x zoom works great for this!) and also of my newborn. Both types of pictures turn out great! Would recommend this camera to anyone for general picture-taking.
|
Fabulous camera for the money. This is my second Kodak digital camera and like my old one I just love it. Flat out it takes some of the best pictures I've seen or taken for that matter. It's rich in features. From almost full manual PASM control to automatic point and shoot to multiple 'scene' settings for differing situations. Power up to first picture is quite quick. Shutter lag is quite small (no more missing those action shots!). The 10x optical zoom does lack stabilization but in good light and with a good shooting stance you won't generate much image shake. Macro photography is, as I've experienced in the past with my CX4230, exceptional although using the flash for extreme close-up work can generate shadows on the image due to the location of the flash unit. Natural light and no flash eliminate this problem. That all being said I do have some complaints; The door covering the memory card slot feels flimsy and could easily be damaged or broken. The 'joystick' used for navigating the menus is small and hard to use for fumble fingered guys like me. It takes some getting used to and can slow you down changing modes or settings if you're in a hurry. The camera seems to have some trouble getting focus in low light (I like to shoot at the beach at sunrise) and the extremely bright and annoying green 'low light assist' lamp cannot be turned off even though the Kodak FAQ page for the Z650 says it can be. All in all though, this is a great camera! It's got some heft to it so it feels like a real camera and not a tourist toy. It comes with a (plastic) 55mm adapter which allows you to fit any number of filters to the camera, though the included lens cap will not attach to a standard 55mm filter. Speaking of the lens cap, it's the one true disappointment with this camera, it does not stay on very well at all. The slightest tap and it will fall off. This can be somewhat solved by leaving the 55mm adapter on the camera as the cap fits that much better. I highly recommend this camera to anyone looking for an ultra-zoom model for a good price. You can't go wrong here.
|
NO POWER ADAPTERHow ridiculous is it to get a brand new camera for 220 dollars, open it, taken nice photos with it and then when the battery runs out have no way to charge it. NO power adapter nor battery charger is included! How ridiculous is that? Not to mention the 32megabytes of included memory. Seriously is Kodak high?

WENT Kablooey after 150 photosFirst, I LOVED this Z650 for the first 3 months. It has a lot of great features, takes terrific photos and is user friendly. When I turned it on yesterday, it came on, then the viewfinder and LCD went black. no buttons worked and the lens made a whirring sound and wouldn't come out. I replaced the battery that came with it with NEW, just charged up NiMh batteries recommended by Kodak. Still won't work. Turns on, makes the whirring sound and dies.
So my problem is mainly with KODAK. A very polite Indian woman kept telling me I needed to replace the battery and see if it worked. I kept telling her I HAD replaced the battery. She kept asking if I'd dropped it or gotten it wet. I hadn't and didn't. She was very obviously reading some prepared script over and over and didn't know doodley about the camera. I got a return authorization number and have shipped it to some place in Illinois for repair today. AT MY EXPENSE. Why do they make a purchaser pay shipping and insurance to return an obvious lemon? They say they do not reimburse the expense. Also, if they deem that the camera can't be repaired, they will replace it with A REMANUFACTURED CAMERA - NOT A NEW ONE. You don't get to read that little bit of news until you have bought the thing and read the warranty information. I now will be without a camera over Christmas holidays. |
trouble from the startI recieved the Kodak Z650 on Friday and was looking forward to using it. This is my 3rd camera from Kodak and have enjoyed the first 2. I had problems with this camera straight out of the box. The batteries that were supplied with it would not power it up. So I went and put my own rechargable batteries in it and it worked....for a while. It would come on when you turned it on but then would shut off right away. It would make a strange sound too when you turned it on. So thinking that mybe my old batteries where a little used I went and bought a new set. Popped them in and it worked for awhile again. I have a feeling that this camera may have been a return. Needless to say it is going back. I am going to go with the Z612. I am a huge Kodak fan and I am not going to let this one expeirence change my view. On a side note, I called to talk to Kodak customer service and got some lady in India who read the exact same thing word for word on there website. I feel that this camera would be a good camera, just make sure that you can return it if need be.
|
Purchase an SD card if you decide to buy the Z650!I just purchased the Z650 and I must admit that this is my first digital camera so I cannot go on about specifics. I am pleased thus far, however, I highly recommend that you purchase an SD (memory) card as well with your super saver shipping. Otherwise, the memory on this camera is full after only approximately twenty photographs! I found out this little surprising tidbit while at a Christmas party...
|
focus problems within six monthsI bought this camera for my daughter for her birthday. There were focusing issues after less than six months. Since it was under warranty we followed Kodaks instructions and sent it to United Camera and Binocular Repair. They said it was damaged and would not replace it under warranty! After several contacts with Kodak and United Binocular...I had to trash the camera because they wanted $158.00 for the repair!!!!!! We also have the docking printer and now both investments are a total waste...by the way when I contacted custoomer service...it was in the Phillipines. We loved the camera but...what a waste. I will never buy another Kodak product!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Proud OwnerI started out with many smaller cameras and finally got introduced to the Kodak Z650, without even trying i can capture things i have been trying to for ages. The on screen green brackets let you know when you are in focus and as long as you have a steady hand, your going to take wonderful pictures. My only problem is the battery gets worn out as i take too many pictures, but that's my fault. This is an awsome camera, being able to zoom in on the moon night or day, it's was worth my bonus check.
|
Love this cameraI take many pictures for a newsletter I publish for our Association. This camera has served me well. Pictures come out great and I found it very easy to use. Love the docking station that is a must for this camera.
|
Great camera for the priceI purchased this camera because my HP camera broke. This camera, which included the printer dock, caught my eye because of the price. When I read the reviews, I became more interested. After doing some research, I decided to make the purchase. My children are very active in sports and I absolutely love the multi-picture function this camera offers. I can take several pictures in a fraction of a second of my son swinging at a baseball or shooting a basketball. The picture quality is great. It is very convenient to be able to print a 4x6 picture when ever I want.
This camera is not the one for you if you're looking for a camera to put in your pocket. Thanks Kodak!! |
Excellent choiceExcellent camera. Excellent camera. Recommended for all who love good pictures. Nice optical zoom...

Shutter pleasureThis was a gift for my son and daughter-in-law for Christmas and they are delighted. They are getting excellent photos of birds, the beach, the moon, friends and family, and everything else around. Only complaint is the constant need to replace the batteries - a major expense over my Kodak Z7590 with a different battery type that recharges in the camera on the docking station. But, great photos. The zoom is wonderful when photographing wildlife, etc.

Great cameraI haven't used the camera much, but what I have used, I like it.
|
SimplicityThis is an awesome camera, easy to use and takes great photos.
A 1 gig card that I got for a great discount holds tons of photos also. The camera has great resolution and takes cool videos. I am very pleased and would recommend it without hesitation. |
Z650 reviewThis is a good camera except for the fact that the lens cap does easily come off.
I highly recommend getting the next model up that has the image stabilization built-in. Very difficult to use without it when taking shots of high zoom subjects. Also, the shutter speed is a little slow and recommend you manually set the scene to get best results. Otherwise, when taken with a steady hand the pictures come out really good. |
Just Natural.....Currently in Trinidad & Tobago West Indies..... This Camera works well with Nature..... The Sunset images are BOLD

very pleasedI am very pleased with this camera , I've had it about a month and love it , I have already taken about 300 photos . I researched many cameras and read many reviews before deciding on this one and am very pleased . The video is good , not as good as a video camera but it's nice to be able to capture moments like that .

Works as it should, 10x optical zoom is a great assetMy first camera a Samsung Digimax A402 had failed me so after some quick research I settled upon this camera. The A402 only had digital zoom. If you are not familiar with the differences between optical and digital zoom I can sum it up for you... optical zoom is what you want, digital is really a non-functional catch phrase and basically means, no useable zoom. I take lots of outdoor shots and lots of distance shots where I knew a 10x zoom would be most attractive. This camera works great. There is no image stabilization so I recommend using a tripod anytime you expect to use over 5x zoom. There are lots of settings on this camera and to be quite honest I am still learning the optimum settings for various environments. Shots in the dark require, at least in my experience, the reviewing of a few of the settings to see which works best. Camera is a bit finicky in the dark so be prepared to work through the learning of the settings.
I love this camera and I am thoroughly impressed with the images I am capturing. You will want to buy a few things to accompany this camera... a carrying case, a 1GB memory card (about 500+ images at max. res., a good set of rechargeable batteries and charger). The camera does come with a lens adapter which also, in my case, serves as a bit of protection for the lens. I have no additional lenses or filters at this time. So I have no problem recommending this camera. The price is excellent for what you get and it is a nice piece of equipment. You can just do point and shoot if that is where you are at or you have plenty of flexibility in settings options if that is your thing. |
Beware the Kingston 2G CardI bought (and love) the Z650 Camera, BUT I also bought the Kingston 2G SD Card suggested by the Amazon web site. Unfortunately, this Kingston card is NOT compatible with the camera. It worked sometimes, but then suddenly it would not regognize the card. It would insist the "card requires formatting" even though I had taken a number of photos which were still stored on the card. Sometimes I could overcome this by taking the card in and out and turning the camera on and off-- but not always. I tried reformatting but the message would return after a few more pictures were taken. I wrote to the help line at Kodak and they said the card was not compatible. Fortunately for me, I have a Canon which seems to accept the Kingston card and the Kodak Z650 is working well with the Scan Disk Ultra II card from my Canon. BE CAREFUL in selecting your SD card because you may have a difficult time returning a card due to incompatibility. Kodak (of course) recommends the Kodak SD card.

KODAK EASYSHARE DIGITAL CAMERAThis was holiday gift for wife who loves to take pictures. It takes great pictures and snap to use. Though it's more bulky than I would like, it's not heavy.
|
Camera was good, Amazon not so muchThis is definately a good product considering the price. The only issue I have with it is the 10x zoom tends to be blurry much of the time. I love Kodak especially the easyshare the only true thing I was disappointed about is that at the time I purchased it Amazon and Kodak offered a free additonal memory card with it, and then when I received that camera it wasn't in the package, and they both pretty much said tough luck. That was definately not a good way to gain a customer.

Best Photos Ever! This camera makes the best photos ever. The photo are crystal clear and the color is fantastic. Easy to use. Love it! :-)
|
kodak camera w/ printercamera is easy to use and has a comfortable grip. instructions are easy to understand. printer dock is almost a necessity. print picture quality as good as the photo developing lab.
|
Z650 6.1 MP DigitalI simply love this camera. Its is easy to use and takes great pictures. would recommend it highly.
|
Kodak EasyShare Z650 Digital CameraI bought this camera mainly because my husband kept complaining about our other digital camera which had such teeny tiny buttons, little optical zoom and was sensitive to movement, so we were looking for a camera that had name recognition. The Kodak EasyShare has human-sized buttons and is very user-friendly to operate. It takes nice pictures we think. It has many nice features. We are very happy with this purchase.
|
Great Camera for AmateurI just purchased this camera a few weeks ago because I wanted a larger camera than my Canon Powershot S410. I wanted to be able to actually see the buttons without my glasses and I can do that with this camera. Also, I needed to be able to take close-up photos for my eBay items. I've had a few "operator errors" mostly, but with a little practice I am getting the hang of it. The picture quality is very good, and I like the large LCD screen. I wish it had the rechargeable batteries, but I just ordered the Kodak one from Amazon today for about $23. Hope that does the trick.
|
I love it!!!!I purchased this camera after Xmas based oof of the Amazon.com reviews and I couldnt be more happy. Since my husband is deployed right now, it's so easy and convienent for me to take pictures kids, print them at home, and send them. Oh yea, the zoom is incredible. I love this camera!!!

Easy to Use, Great quality pics, but keep this in mind... I bought this camera for my wife so she couldn't drop it into her purse and ruin it. That idea has worked great. I am very pleased with the picture quality & how easy it is to use. However, the cameras instruction booklet is somewhat lacking. I had hoped that there would be more detail provided on the various features. It just seemed like it does more than the instructions are letting on. Over all though this is a great inexpinsive camera with many good features.
Tip #1: I have messed up a few pictures by not paying good attention to the flash. The camera has a great feature that adjusts the exposure in low light conditions. When you're indoors and there is fairly good light you really shouldn't use the flash. It makes the pics darker than if taken without. Tip #2: While the zoom on this camera is outstanding the pictures (as expected) get very "grainy" once you get into the digital zoom. The optical zoom pics seem to be pretty good. |
Great camera. Better than many more expensive models.I bought this camera because I love taking nature photos. I've gotten some beautiful pictures of birds right out in my backyard. Many of these have been through windows from my livingroom and they still look fantastic. I've used the 10x zoom feature a lot and have found that if there's good lighting I didn't need a tripod for security. I had a 35mm SLR in the past and this camera is just as good, (if not better) than it was. The only downside I can find is that there's no manual focus. But like I mentioned earlier, it focused perfectly right through a window to the subject out in my yard. I would definitely recommend this camera for the beginner as well as for the advanced photographer. You will not be disappointed. You'll never want to put it down!
|
eats batteries, long shutter delayThis thing wears out batteries in nothing flat. I think a design flaw is responsible. It takes only 2 batteries and that just doesn't cut it. I use rechargeable. perhaps the way expensive non chargeable battery would be better?
As expected, kodak has that long delay between the time the shutter button is depressed and the time the shutter deploys, ruining most shots as the subject changes in the 1-2 second delay. Don't bu |
great pictures, easy to usei love this camera, it's a point-and-shoot PLUS, and it is so easy to use. my children even take good pictures when using it. the menus are easy to figure out, and it explains what each screen is for as you scroll through them (for example: the sports/action screen is for taking pictures during your kids games, there's a portrait screen, and a video screen. i taped an entire set during a concert, so it lasts quite a while.

Great little gem!I stumbled across this little gem by accident. I was picking up supplies at Office Depot and they had a Kodak Z650 (display model) on sale for under $100. It was a ridiculous impulse buy--I already own 4 digital cameras ... the last thing I needed was another camera! But what a delighful suprise this camera turned out to be! It's come the closest to rivaling the image quality of my old Olympus C-740.
I had never seriously looked at Kodak cameras ... I always steered clear of them based on bad press and negative comments about them from my friends who are "serious" photographers. But I couldn't be happier with this little bargain ... it basically serves the need I wanted to fill -- a 6mp camera that takes the kind of quality shots I was used to with my C-740. There are a few negatives in that it can be a little slow in processing the shots, but there is very little shutter-lag when taking the shots. I've gotten some amazing birds-in-flight shots with it--something I've never been able to accomplish with any of my other cameras, including the C-740. Some low-contrast shots come out a bit noisy, but for the most part the shots are very crisp and sharp. It handles low-light settings better than any of the others in this class that I've tried. At less than a third of the price of my Canon S2-IS, this little camera outclasses the others by a mile. I stumbled on to a good find in the Z650 ... it's not going to give you DLSR quality photos, but no point-and-shoot will. This camera is perfect for any one who likes to take great outdoor and wildlife shots. I just wish someone would have given a good report on Kodak cameras before I spent a small fortune on the others. |
Good camera, good valueIf you use the viewfinder instead of the LCD field, it does not appear on the LCD, you can only see it through the viewfinder. This is different from previous models. Minor annoyance.
The quality of the videos was surprisingly good, but it saves them in the QuickTime .Mov format. Mov is not my favorite format, but perhaps others will not be bothered by this. Although I had heard that the color on Kodaks is not natural, I have found it to be excellent. The overall quality of the pictures is good. For the price, I think this is a very good value and adequate for most casual photographers. |
Didn't last 2 monthsI loved this camera when I received it and used it a couple of times. Then, it just stopped working. I have since purchased the same camera elsewhere and it is works great. Maybe this was just a bad egg. Good camera, but 2 months of use for the money wasn't good.

Camera Kodak EasyShare Z650My experience with amazon is very good almost excellence. The products are like description and specifications are exactally functionality of the products.
I brings my thanks to you for the great services and fast work to complete the orders. |
Great camera for the avid outdoors personI bought this camera to replace my 35 almost a couple years back. I am an avid nature photographer so most of my work is taken in the outdoors. After hundreds of pictures and all kinds of weather here's the lowdown...
Pros ... Picture quality is amazing even after zooming the full 10X (I never go into digital zoom because of low quality of pictures, although this camera isn't too bad after complete full optical and digital zoom). Prints that I've made up to 16X20" (haven't gone larger, but I know I can) are extremely impressive and are as crisp as viewing a 4x6. It is easy to use and the functions are easy to get to with the use of the joystick. The stabilization at full 10X zoom is incredible also. It appears really shaky through the window, but pictures continue to turn out crisp. Close-ups are clear and reveal amazingly clear details. The movie feature works better indoors than the regular camera portion (read cons). Cons ... Indoor shooting is limited because the flash isn't strong enough. When at a school chorus concert, the pictures turned out fuzzy and unclear. Award ceremonies, the pictures turned out once again unusable in my standards. The zoom is fixed when using the movie feature so you need to have the zoom set before beginning a movie. This camera seems to eat batteries, especially in the winter months. I am always on the go, and when I go to pull out the camera I find the camera lens cover has fallen off yet again. It comes off way to easily causing smudges and smears on the lens so I must always have lens cleaner wipes on me. The viewing window cover has also come off and is lost in the woods somewhere, but that also is minor. Most of the cons really are all minor things that don't interfere with the amazing quality of the pictures as long as you are properly prepared for those minor issues. I tried to be as precise about this camera as possible. All in all, I would highly recommend this camera to the avid photographer. If you plan on using a camera on mostly indoor activities, just keep in mind for the flash to work good, keep your subjects close. It's been bumped, jostled, and droped a couple of times and the camera still works like a gem! |
Does the job for me. Fun to use. Great Lens! There are so many choices out there, especially if you're relatively new to digital cameras. I purchased this camera about a year ago because I had heard from old timers that the Schneider-Kreuznach lens were as good as Leica lens. Also this featured 6.l Mp with a 10x zoom. I publish a magazine and from time to time I have to take photos of sales staff members for an auto dealership and various other photos of buildings, people and street scenes. One day, a rooster was at a car dealership about 20 yards away. I didn't want to scare him away so shot him from 20 yards and despite the distance there was no blur and the quality was as good as if only 5 feet away. I have owned Nikons, Pentaxs and Minoltas, and these lens are as good if not better. It comes with Kodak software that makes it easy. Good solid feel. The color quality is outstanding and if you use the enclosed software or Photoshop you can enhance any photo that appears a tad dark or light for optimal results. I've been using this camera now for almost a year all the time and it is a reliable performer for work or play. I have never used it in real dark situations, but the flash does work automatically if more light is needed. Highly recommended!

not a review it's a questionI am looking at the Z650, I purchased the Canon S2 because of the zoom but the date doesn't print directly on the picture. Please advise if the Z650 prints directly on the picture. Thanks Pat

So happy to replace my Sony Cybershot!I owned a Kodak for awhile and was pleased with the pictures however, my husband accidently fell while ice skating and broke my camera. My family, knowing I love to take pictures, decided to replace my camera, but this time with a Sony Cybershot. I have never been more unhappy with a camera. Needless to say, I finally decided to purchase this Kodak Z650 and am so pleased with the results and pictures.
I am not a professional photographer, just someone who likes to take photos of my kids, pets, flowers, vacation spots, etc. My Sony was HORRIBLE at action shots and if you had ANY movement what so ever, the photo appeared blurry. Having kids, that isn't an option. I gave that camera to my daughter to do whatever she wanted with it. The Kodak, however does a wonderful job of action shots as well as clear, crisp and concise pictures. I absolutely love this camera! I will never go back to another brand and have only good things to say about Kodak and their products. |
Kodak EasyShare Z650 6.1MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical ZoomI am extremely pleased with this camera. I have used it for a variety of different photographic situations such as: Sport events, low light and no light, indoor without flash, beach, indoor with sun shinning in windows, close ups and zoom, and it has excelled in every one! I like it much better than my 35mm SLR (Pentax ME Super).

A great camera at a great price!I am extremely happy with this purchase! I LOVE the 10x zoom when taking pics of my kids!

Great Camera for a Great Price$!$LOVE THIS CAMERA!!!!! This is my first digital camera. Wanted something that was easy to use, had good/high zoom, and that I could use to capture those special moments. I have owned this camera for about 2 months now and have had no problems. I get tons of compliments from other digital camera owners.
*has multipal shooting features/modes *10x zoom *pictures come out crystal clear my dad who is not the most electronic savvy plans on getting the exact same model cause he loves mine soooo much. Would highly reccomend!!!! |
Great Camera with a major flawThis is a great camera, takes great photos, has just about all the bells and whistles anyone could possibly ask for in a point & shoot - with one glaring flaw: battery life. You can only get about two dozen photos before the batteries die. If you are planning to take it on vacation and use it all day, make sure you bring at least another three sets of batteries (besides the new set you put in every morning). My husband and I just got back from our granddaughter's birthday party, and even with two sets of batteries, all we got was about two dozen photos. (It was an indoor party, and the flash lessens the battery life significantly.) Sure, that's plenty - but everyone else took photos all day long with their cameras. We've always owned and loved Kodak digital cameras, but for the money you should buy one with longer battery life. Kodak should try to find a way to fix this major problem!
|
I like a lot it work for meThe only thing is that the screen is not as shap as the picture taken.
|
Big DisappointmentThis was my 3rd Kodak camera. (My 2nd one was my favorite but it died after a couple of years. Unfortunately, Kodak no longer makes that model.) So I bought the Z650 because of the nice zoom options and good customer reviews. Plus, it seemed like a good deal for the money. What a disappointment it has been. The only pro for me is that SOMETIMES it takes outstanding pictures. But it is hit or miss. I've found that the best pictures are taken outdoors, like nature shots - close ups of flowers, etc. Some of those pictures have been breathtaking.
The cons are many. Here they are: 1. Extremely low battery life (and by the way, it took me a while to find a battery charger that was compatible with the type of batteries this camera takes.) 2. Cheap lens cover. Keeps falling off and I enventually lost it. Which makes for a hard experience trying to keep the lens clean. 3. VERY slow in processing shots. Granted, I have it on the highest resolution, but my last camera did not do this, even on the highest resolution. 4. Long shutter delay, and annoying white screen with the word "processing" appears after almost every shot, especially when battery is running low. You cannot do anything while the shot is "processing," and I missed a lot of great photo opportunities while waiting for this "processesing" screen to go away. 5. Zoom in video mode is fixed. Cannot zoom while videotaping. 6. Even after focusing ahead of time in video mode, sometimes video still appeared completely out of focus on screen once I pushed the record button. I missed videotaping my son's piano recital this way, because it just wouldn't focus. 7. Takes awful pictures indoors from a distance, even if using zoom mode. (Example: awards ceremonies, etc.) 8. Cannot take focused or decent pictures in low light indoors. (I'm sure there is a way to fix this in the settings, but that's my fault for not taking the time to deal with it.) 9. Again, pictures are hit or miss. Sometimes they're beautiful, especially the outdoors shots, but sometimes they turn out blurry, even if they appeared focused on the camera screen. 10. Camera is BULKY and cumbersome. Definately hard to carry and won't fit in your pocket since the lens does not retract all the way in to the camera. 11. Needs image stabilization. 12. LOW Memory storage, even on low resolution settings. At most I could store about 64 photos, and that was even with a memory card. Hate to sound so negative, but I'm just being honest. This camera is not one I would recommend unless all your photos are taken outdoors. |
PricelessExactly what I was looking for. Perfect zoom and perfect price
|
IncredibleThis camera is good and very easy to operate. The camera can be downloaded with memory card to any computer program. I feel that this is the best camera for the money.
|
After12 months of good lifeI purchased this camera through Amazon for a good price. Used it for several important events with great pictures. However, after 12 months when the warranty expired, the LCD screen no longer works. Camera lost most of its features.
|
LOVE IT!!I bought this a year ago to replace my 35mm Pentax. I bought it from Amazon & it came with the camera dock and a KODAK Lens Adapter, 45.5 to 55 mm. I love the pictures that it takes. As far as the batteries, when you set the camera on the camera dock, the batteries recharge. I don't have any trouble with the lens cap staying on because it snaps into the lens adapter, which I usually keep on to protect the lens.
|
Camera of My choice! This is one nice camera! Great for everything from studio shots to action shots at the game. Compact and easy to handle.
|
High Quality Camera! The zoom is spectacular, and it is easy to purchase accessories for the lens. I always have my wide-angle and tele-photo lenses ready for superior photographs from my Z650. I highly recommend using the Kodak Ni-MH Lithium Ion battery pack with this camera for optimal performance, since rechargeable AA's drain too quickly.
|
something's going wrongI truly enjoy using my z650 and it takes superb pictures until now... I've only had my camera for less than a year and when I take photos, I'm getting a hazy photo with fine horizontal lines going across the display or it just shows up white. I raved about my camera prior to this malfunction. If it's something that I'm doing or "not" doing then I say go for it and purchase the product; however, if my camera is going haywire already then continue searching. Check a kodak z650 forum online to see what the problem may be. That's where I'm going now...
|
Camera manI have z650 camera and i love it. The one i purchase from you is a christmass gift. I belive the person that i give it to will like it as i do.
merry christmas happy customer |
Selling this camera asap!I bought this camera with the bundle for a really great price. It was the last camera and bundle in stock for the price so I snatched it up before researching it. I was impressed by the 10x optical zoom at first. But, when I started using it I found myself very disappointed. Almost every picture I took after zooming in was blurry. I have a pretty steady hand so this was completely frustrating. What's the point of having 10x optical zoom if the pictures turn out blurry almost every time? I also HATE the delay after pushing the button to take the picture. I've missed many great shots because of this camera. It's horrible in low-light situations too. I'm sure there are some pros, but I haven't found any yet.
I'm selling this camera and buying a Canon or Panasonic that has image stabilization, face recognition and less of a delay when taking a picture. |
Kodak Z650 - A Wonderful CameraDude, I completely lucked out when I bought this camera... :) I was at Office Max, looking for a laptop bag I needed for a trip, and I'd stumbled upon the Kodak Z650 while the store was doing an inventory. They had a sticker on the box that read "do not inventory", and, more importantly, another sticker with a new price on it - $99.99! Needless to say, I bought it right up! I wanted to explain that because this is a one-hundred dollar camera to me, so my opinion of it may be a bit skewed. I've owned the Z650 for a few months, and I've gotten to where I feel very comfortable using it. Even for twice the price I got it at, this is a wonderful piece of serious photographic equipment. I know you SLR people are probably laughing at me right now, but it's true. Besides, not all of us like to look through a viewfinder to shoot photos. One nice thing about the Z650 is that you can toggle between the ample LCD and the EVF with the touch of a button. I find myself using the EVF when shooting with the 10X zoom. A note on the zoom feature - it's a 5X DIGITAL zoom, the other five, you're on your own with. Beyond its digital limit, and depending upon the subject, images can get somewhat blurry. This can also be attributed to the camera's lack of image stablization. Kodak Gear (Tiffen) makes an excellent 60" tripod that can greatly improve upon these minor imperfections. In fact, 47th Street Photo sold it to me (here on Amazon) for $9.95! Great people, and it arrived at my door in two days time using standard shipping... Okay, I'm straying a bit here... The Z650's menus are both easily accessable and easy to understand. In addition to several pre-programmed scene and automatic modes, the camera also gives you the option going fully manual - a must for me, because one of my favorite subjects to photograph is the night sky (a couple of my photographic endeavors can be viewed in the customer images for this camera). I'm still tinkering around with shutter settings and whatnot, but I'm getting what I consider to be very good results from my Kodak. All in all, I'm very content with the Z650, and I would recommend it highly. If you're thinking about buying it, I hope this little review helped you out! |
Easy on the WalletA great camera, especially for those who just want to take a simple photo, nothing fancy, just a good, clear shot everytime!

StanAbout 9 months ago a Kodak Z710 was purchased for me by my superior to record the various landscape features. It is about half the size and weight of my film camera. With 1 GB memory card I am able to take many good pictures and review them on the computer screen.
In April, 2008 I decided to buy a digital camera (Z650) for myself through Amazon. Because I was familiar with the Z710, it was an easy choice to purchase another Kodak. I checked Steve Digicams website and found that the Z650 was a good camera. Ordering from Amazon was easy and Amazon kept me informed as to the delivery progress of my order. The camera arrived on time and the bill was exactly as stated earlier. Stan |
GREAT EVERYDAY CAMERAI have had this camera for about 2 years but I'm about to sell it to my dad. It truly is a great camera for everyday use and special events within families. However I needed even higher resolution and a camera with room for more expansion since I'm pursuing photography as a career. This camera is amazingly easy to use. There's nothing tricky about it. It takes wonderful photos and I particularly like the sport mode. One negative I found is the shutter lag is rather slow though. Having an active 2 year old whos constantly on the go, some great photos were never caught because by the time the camera actually took the picture the moment was gone or the smile had disappeared. ButI must say that most camera's of this type within similar price range all have about the same shutter lag typically. Nonetheless, It is an excellent everyday digital camera assuming you're not an avid photographer. Hope this helped.

EasyThis easyshare is what it says. Easy. 10x lens is also great if you need close up's.

Too big, not enough qualityI got this unit for the extended zoom capabilities. Not impressed at all and I returned it. Too big, bulky, not enough quality in extended zoom.
