Best camera everI have been through a lot of cameras. I wanted a camera that would just take a nice picture of my baby easily with no red eye and finally after all the hard work i found it. I have had a canon, sony, panisonic, casio, and then now this kodak. It is the best purchase i have ever made and it will be yours too. You will be amazed with the quality of the pictures.
|
ExcellentI really love this camera. I had a Kodak before, but my use finally took a tole on it-so I had to get a new camera. I have had nothing but good experiances with Kodak, this camera is no exception.
+ It is easy to learn how to use. + The screen is great size + Small enough to fit in your pocket. + Takes wonderful pictures. The blurry alert is really helpful-there are 3 color modes-green, yellow, and red-so you know what you can expect when you take the picture. + The color is wonderful. + You can choose your sounds that you want heard-shutter, focus, startup, etc. + The video mode is really great-you can make a picture from a movie right on the camera. + Also the panoramic stitching is incredible-does it right on the camera so you can see if it turned out. - If you are new to Kodak-the manual is not in-depth-maybe harder to learn. - No viewfinder. I haven't used it in bright sun, so I don't know how the screen will show. - The microphone is on the bottom right (looking at it from the front) and that is where I tend to put my fingers when I want it to be steady-Then the sound isn't recorded-they should have put that on the other side of the lens. You just have to remember that when you do a video. Again, this camera is fantastic, and for the price you really can't beat it! Kodak did a really great job on this one! |
An Overlooked WonderLike most people, I used to believe that the more money you had to spend for an electronic item the better it was, I'm starting to believe this theory is false and this camera proves it. This camera is only $199.99, and it's wonderful. It's up to 8MP, and it has like a gazillion scene selections(I just keep it in AUTO). I also like the fact that it has a re-chargeable battery, and yes it comes with the charger. I haven't used the video option yet, so I can't comment on that yet. If you're looking for a camera takes beautiful pictures, comes in a beautiful color (yes I have the purple one, but you have a choice of eight different ones), and it's inexpensive, then BUY THIS CAMERA! You won't be disappointed.
If you're having a hard time finding this camera in the store, I suggest you buy it from the Kodak Online Store. I've actually had this camera since the beginning of March. The Kodak Store has all the colors available. |
Great purchase for the moneyI purchased this camera after some comparison shopping, and have found it to be a great value. It is comfortable to carry, easy to use, and takes very good photos. I especially like the ability to overide the automatic settings and get a little creative with this camera. It has a high ISO, which allows you to take existing light photos, even at night. I recommend this camera, especially for under $200, it is a real deal. Negatives? A bit bigger screen, and perhaps a bit better optics. (The optics aren't bad, just not great, but this is typical of sub $300 aim and shoot cameras.) Overall, I am very pleased with this camera.
|
Great buy - - -Kodak 8.2mp cameraGreat camera to grab and go. What I like best about it (and the last kodak I had (5.2mp)) is the software. As a casual camera user, I nver know which mode to choose when I shoot photos, but the Kodak tells you as you scroll thru like 20 different options. It also takes very crisp shots and travels easily. I used to be an Olympus guy, but Kodak's user interface has swayed me.
|
Great camera for the priceI purchased this camera to replace a Kodak V603 that I used for a while thinking that the "V803" indicated a camera with more functions, a "new and improved" version of the V603 that I had been using. The only incremental feature that the V803 offers is a higher 8 Mega Pixel resolution versus the maximum 6 Mega Pixel resolution of the V603. Actually the V803 excludes many functions such as Auto Rotate that are present in the V603. But the V803 does take very satisfactory pictures. If you put the camera in the "fully automatic" mode and simply click away you will get pretty decent pictures. Point and Click is what describes most of my picture taking so I am satisfied with the camera's performance. I would recommend this camera if you anticipate doing mostly Point and Click type of shooting with an expectation of decent (but not fantastic) results. By the way, I would also recommend that you totally skip installing any of the software that comes with the camera as the software is essentially Junk Ware that installs all sorts of unneccesary software and background processes whose main function ends up being to simply slow down your computer. Instead get an inexpensive SD Card reader and use that to read your memory card like a Disk Drive and simply copy and paste your pictures from the Memory Card to your hard disk.
|
Great CameraReally like the Camera. Only thing that could be better is the instructions or owners manual could be more detailed. Instructions are very Vague.
|
Pretty good, but a few glitchesI had the V550 and I wanted to upgrade to the V803. Overall, I wish I would have kept my old camera. This one sometimes gets stuck on whatever I was doing and sometimes the lens won't retract and I can't even turn the power off. So then I have to take out the battery, put it back in and then press the on/off button to turn it back on. Also, the video mode really sucks compared to my V550. My old camera's video mode showed clearly in any lighting. With this camera, it looks fuzzy in dimmer lighting. Also while you're shooting a video you can hear a clicking sound which shows up on the video, but I figured out a way around it. It is the sound of the lens continuously auto focusing. If you set it to single auto focus you won't hear that sound anymore. But what I do LOVE about this camera are the crisp sharp pictures I get every time. I guess it's worth the money because Kodak added a lot of other features that are good. Panoramic mode, on-camera video editing and more things that I really like. I guess I'm happy with this camera, but I wish Kodak would fix whatever software glitches they obviously have.

High quality, small, user-friendly camera -- well-worth the price!A previous owner for two Kodak EasyShare cameras, this V803 far surpasses both of them. It is extremely easy to use and takes crystal clear photos with the touch of a button. It can also easily fit in your pocket and go everywhere or anywhere with you!
I highly recommend this camera for both casual and more experienced photographers who desire the clearest, most 8.0 MP vivid photos with no complications. Do not waste your money on a more expensive version -- the V803 will suit your all-around photography needs with sophistication, reliability, and simplicity. Side note: I would definitely recommend purchasing some sort of case for this camera, as it can easily get scratched (especially if you frequently use it, as I do). Securing its future with a one or two year warrantee is also highly advised, but with good care, this camera should last you at least a few good years of high usage. |
Awesome camera!I am so happy with this camera. The pictures are clear and it is very user friendly. In fact, my only complaint of this product is that it is VERY EASY to accidently hit the delete all button for the pics! Otherwise, it is lightweight and takes great photos.

This camera is TOO DELICATEI bought the V1003. Just the same one but with 10 MP.
This camera has good quality pics/ 10 MB. It is kind of slow. I bought one about 25 days ago. THERE IS ONE BIG FLAW. The LCD screen is not protected. Many digital cameras do have a protective HARD COVER for the LCD screen. This camera is TOO DELICATE. I have bought more than 5 digital cameras for the last 5 years. This is the FIRST ONE that I broke the LCD screen. |
Weighs 3.5 ounces! This is a fantastic camera. I almost considered not buying it because the description on Amazon says it weighs a full pound which for a cyclist, is heavy to carry around in a pocket on your bicycle. I got it out of the package, added the battery and weighed it and it weighs only 3.5 ounces! The picture quality is fantastic. The 2.5 inch LCD viewer is wonderful. Even the video it takes is great. I love the pink camera and it comes in other colors too. Extremely simple to set up and use. Buy it and enjoy!

CRACK!!!I'm actually searching for a new camera and was curious about what people said about my old camera. Here's what I thought...
I bought this camera on the day it came out with no research other than the previous two digital cameras I had were Kodak's and I was comfortable with them. The camera retailed for $199 and was 8MP which I was excited about. I also liked how small it was, that it used my old SD card and had a rechargable battery. Within 2 days the LCD screen cracked right down the center while I was turning it on. The on/off button is top center of the camera and when you press it down it puts pressure on the screen. I had bought it at Target and they exchanged it for another straight up. About 4 months later I had the camera in a cargo pocket and when I reached in to get it I found the screen cracked again. Biggest problem here is that the camera doesn't have a view finder, so when the screen cracks that's it. |
Kodak MomentLike that its stylish...but have issues with a few things. Shutter speed is molasses in winter slow. It has demonic possession issues...shut off a couple of times unexpectedly. (yes, the camera was fully charged at the time) Over all, it is a fun new toy for me.
|
Nice product but...Used the camera for about 15 days before it actually failed. Although it appears esthetic in both shape and color, it must be quite fragile.
Positives...it took nice very clear pictures. It was fast and the screen was large enough to review easily. When it worked I really felt it was a good value. Not So positive. The camera quit while I was taking pictures. Bummer. Now I have a wonderfully pretty pink screen. I can't take pictures and I am beginning to sense that I have wasted the $150 invested. My advise...choose something else. However...it's your money...and I am only person. I have other Kodak cameras...I bought this because of the 8mp feature. Hope this helps some of you. |
Love it!I did a lot of research to get to this camera. My previous camera didn't take pictures very well, even with the flash (which was a polaroid, digital btw). This camera is so easy to use, and I love taking pictures with it. I've had it for about a month now, paid less than $199.99, I believe in waiting for prices to go down. ^_^ I saw that this camera had more positive feedback than negative and with the help of my camera veteran hubby, I decided on this one. He's had a kodak for over 8 years now, and still works great. I wanted my own camera so I didn't worry about constantly borrowing his. I can't wait to use all of the features on it.
|
v803Great camera. Takes wonderful daytime pictures. At night they aren't as good and are a little fuzzy. Overall it is a great purchase.
|
LOVE IT!I just recieved this camera not too long ago from AMZN, it is so cute! The color is great if you love purple. And it is so small I can take it anywhere in my pocket. It takes really great quality photos. The only thing that i wish was on it is more features. The other camera I have has more than just auto, like I can actually change it to outdoors, nighttime, sports, action, etc. So if there is a lot of action it might not be the best, although i just took some of us playing softball yesterday and it was actually quite surprising that i got some people running. I reccomend this camera, it is great for the price!
|
Returned it after 15 minutes....Boy was I wrong to pick up this Kodak camera! Though the blue coloring and random "positive" reviews did persuade me to purchase, it was not worth the
a) grainy screen quality, b) grinding noise when a picture was taken, c) slow processing after a picture was taken, d) slow review button, e) ill-located (favorite, scene and camera)buttons which need to be pressed really hard and with a fingernail above the very fragile screen and f) poor camera body craftmanship. The color of the body could be scratched off with a fingernail, as well. I know I only had it for at the most, 30 minutes... but I did not want to deal with a longer period of time with possible occuring problems with this camera. Thanks anyways, Kodak.... I bought my Sony instead! |
6 months, already not working!!I loved this camera at first and have only had it 6 months. Great pictures, so easy to use, nice video feature, etc. But here it is 6 months later, it's jammed, frozen, won't work and it's the holidays. I have to send it in to be fixed with no clue when I'll get it back. I've baby'd this thing and am never rough on it nor have gotten it moist, wet, anything. NOT IMPRESSED!
|
Favorite camera so far! I've had this Kodak v803 for about 4-5 months now and just love it. It's probably my fourth digital camera. I bought it on a spur of the moment at Walmart because my previous digital camera (a minolta) broke and I needed to take pictures at my kids event. I didn't do any research before buying this one like I did on previous cameras and yet I really love this little camera. It's small enough to carry in my purse without feeling like I have a brick in my purse. It's easy to change picture size from 1.2 mp up to 8 mp (7 choices). In fact, all menu choices are easy to select and the whole camera is nicely laid out. Nice sized lcd screen on back, and lens neatly folds up and covers lens when power is turned off. Transferring pictures is just as easy, hardest thing was finding out where they hid the slot to plug the cord into. Only thing I had trouble with is that you have to push and hold the power button till it turns on, not just push and its on. I guess it saves batteries by not turning on easily but it took some getting use to. And I love the picture quality. I use to sell on eBay fulltime so I've had lots of experience with digital cameras, and this one is by far my favorite that I've owned.

I'm happy with my purchase so far...After searching and reviewing cameras online, I decided to go with the Kodak EasyShare V803. Amazon's price was the lowest I found ($149 for the Pink one.) I also chose the FREE Super Shipping, which I WOULD NOT recommend if you are anxiously awaiting your item (like me!) It took 11 days to receive my camera. Free is always good, but waiting is a bugger! Anyhow...I've had my camera for about a week now - not quite long enough to write a proper review, however I will share a few of my favorite specs: I love the big screen, the rechargable Li-ion battery, and the option to take pics in color/b&w/or sepia. (These were all must-haves when I was shopping around) I also like the many scene modes that Kodak offers. I have taken some good quality photos - crisp & clear. The shimmery pink color is even growing on me (after I ordered it, a "what was I thinking?!" moment hit) Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase and will continue to enjoy the ease & options of my Kodak EasyShare camera. I would recommend the V803 to those shopping for a good quality, compact digital at a reasonable price.

This camera rocks!I'm totally pleased with this camera! I bought mine (red) last summer before going to a tech conference where most attending had digital SLRs. This camera easily kept up with the high end cameras. I was able to shoot good video in a dark aquarium, do stitched landscape shots on the ocean, and take all sorts of killer candids.
I'm buying several more for my students to use. I especially love the long battery life. I've had it since July and have only charged it about once a month with frequent use. I hope the battery life continues! |
This camera is perfect!Super easy to use, clear sharp pics, and- finally!- a girly style (pink for me). Compatible with my outdated EasyShare camera stuff, software and memory card etc (guess you can tell this grandma is new at this). Takes great closeups of my wiggly puppies and grandkids!
|
Pretty color, not the best cameraI initially bought this camera in the pink color for my mother, someone who is totally non tech savvy. I asked her what kind of camera she was interested in and she said "a pink one". At that time, this camera was brand new and I had bought myself the more expensive V603 (which I don't believe is made anymore) and was incredibly pleased with it. I assumed that this camera was a similar model so I got it for her.
Like most of the other kodak digitals I've worked with, the interface on this camera is extremeley user friendly. It does come in a wide variety of colors which is nice when you want it to match your personality. The screen is big and clear and the controls are easy to use. However, when we got it out of the box and started playing with it, we realized that it was inferior to the v603. One of the best things about my camera is the button to shutter speed. This camera had a small delay like so many other digital cameras. Also, the photos weren't very clear. Once we started printing them up we realized that the detail, even at the highest resolution, was blurry or fuzzy. Also, there were some serious flash problems. I don't know if the one we got was a defective model or if it was an issue in more of these cameras, but after taking a flash photo it was a good minute or two before the flash would work again. Not what I would expect from Kodak. My suggestion is don't buy this camera. The price has come down, yes, but it could make for an embarressing gift if the recipient has the same issues my mom. If you are looking for a pink camera I highly reccommend the Casio Exilm (which is what we ended up getting for mom after I returned this one to the store. |
I <3 my cameraI received the camera and I thought, "it's too cute!" It's small and can fit in your pocket. Once I started using it I hadn't really taken advantage of all its cool features but now I use them all the time to crop photos without having to do it on the computer. It wasn't too expensive and it's 8 MEGA PIXELS!!
|
Don't buy this camera for the video featureI can't review the photographic quality of the camera, since I took it out of the box, turned it right to video to capture my baby's babbling. It was easy to use sure, but when I went to see the video, all I could hear was the camera's motor!! The machine noise was louder than my baby!
I had a Kodak v570 (no longer made :(, and this camera is not nearly the same quality. It's light and feels cheap, not a metal case. I put it right back in the box and sent it back. |
Kodak EasyShare V803I gave this camera as a gift for my daughter. The first one I gave her broke and Amazon sent another quickly. She hasn't used it yet.
|
Easy to useEasy to use, quick on screen directions and changes.
The camera makes some disturbing sounds out of the box, they can be disabled from the menu and I would suggest turning them all off. When first turned on the focusing parts move out and makes a small noise. This is the second camera of this model - the first one the battery had to be returned (that takes a while). Normal for a commodity electronic item, mass production will always have lemons and QC problems. A bit slow... shutter, response and refresh all a bit slow, but what I would expect at this price. |
Wonderful little GadgetI love this camera! I had a Kodak prior to this new one which was the most reliable little point and shoot... it always took good pictures and so does this one. I would highly recommend purchasing Kodak cameras over other brands. They are easy to use, foolproof AND less expensive.
|
Awesome CameraGot this camera for the girlfriend for Christmas, and she loves it. Takes great crisp photos and is very compact. For the price it's unbeatable.
|
Camera reviewvery unhappy with the service. i bought this camera as a christmas gift. when it was opened and tried out, it was found that the camera did not work, it had vertical lines down the pictures taken. Since I had purchased it as a chrstmas gift, it had been past 15 days since the delivery date, so I am unable to return it. i am very unhappy with this service and i will never purchase anything off amazon again.

SIX STARS!!! A fantastic camera at a great priceI picked this up on a discount site because the price was right (around $100). This camera has exceeded expectations in every way. I would gladly have paid up to around $200 for this little marvel. A number of other reviews list a lot of specific details. Let me address the things that impressed me about this camera, and then address the points from some other negative reviews:
THE GREAT STUFF --------------- - Even without reading the manual, most functions were a snap to learn. - There are far more functions available than I am likely to ever use (e.g., the panoramic photo option, the burst feature). There are many advanced configuration options. - The recycle time (the time it takes for the camera to be ready for the next shot) is shorter than for any of the other digital cameras I have owned. - Color registration is great, and the flash does not wash out the photo as much as it had on the Vivitar cameras I owned. - The rechargable battery is a feature that should be standard on every digital camera. This one will save you tons of dollars on battery costs over the life of the camera. So far, we've yet to completely drain the battery in a single day of shooting. THIS IS A GREAT CAMERA FOR THE PRICE! Buy it as a "point and shoot" camera for your snapshots and you'll be getting a camera that will let you grow into a new hobby. If you're looking for a digital camera that has some great features at a great price, you won't go wrong with this one! BE SURE TO PICK UP AN SD CARD--at the time of this writing, a 1 Gb card sells for under $20 and will hold around 290 photos at maximum (8.0 megapixel) resolution. SOME NOTES ABOUT OTHERS' NEGATIVE POINTS (WHY I DISAGREE): ---------------------------------------------------------- NO VIEWFINDER - I honestly thought this one would bug me, but it has not been a problem at all. The camera's default view provides a cross-frame in which to center the subject of your photo. Toggling the joystick left and right adjusts the brightness of the LCD display, allowing it to compensate for most light conditionss. BLURRY PHOTOS - Neither my wife or I have had any real problem with blurry photos. When you start to depress the shutter button, the camera starts to focus. When focus is achieved, the camera boxes those areas that are in focus in green boxes. This was really helpful when I was trying to make sure something was in focus (like a face rather than a pendant). When we've allowed for the camera to finish its autofocus routine, all of our photos have come out well. THE BUTTONS - Some complained that the buttons were too flat against the body, makin them hard to depress. I did not find this to be a problem at all (and I have big fingers). To the contrary, I found the low-profile buttons to be a boon because it prevented me from accidentally depressing them. JOYSTICK NAVIGATION - Contrary to a number of reviewers, I had no problem with the mini joystick that is used for navigation. It is very comfortable to control it with my right thumb while holding the camera, and I did not have any problem getting it to accept a direct inward press (it did not angle off in any direction). I wonder if others' control of the joystick improved with use. I found this navigation tool much better than the button-only navigation on my previous cameras. |
Cute Camera But I Expect More From Kodak!OK. So I am a strict Kodak fan and buyer. I thought that I was upgrading from the Kodak CX series. Sadly that it not the case. I've owned this camera for less than 2 weeks and I am seriously considering returning it. The on/off button sometimes has to be pressed up to 3 times to turn the camera on. There is a slight delay from the time you turn the camera on and when you can actually take a picture. The shutter speed or lack thereof is extremly disappointing. Forget action shots-not possible. There is really no acceptable reason why the features on this newer model are not at least up to the standard of the older models. This camera is very cute. I fell in love with it's physical features at first glance. Sadly this may be the only reason I do not return it.
|
easy...easy shareI bought the camera as a gift for my adult daughter. She has been very happy with the clarity and color of the pictures she has taken. The camera is extremely easy to use. I found the best price through Amazon.
|
Great cameraI have already recommended this camera to others. It met all my expectations. Large LCD screen, excellent clarity. Love it.
|
V803not bad
quick reveiw: 1 save feature alows you to save all your picures you take 2 its got a camcorder feature lets you record 1 hour of video 3 you have to buy a card key to transfer your media on your pc 4 if you want to but personoly im a big fan on poloriods, but as far as digital cams go its decent just dont drop it thats the only down fall and dont put it in your pocket |
Best camera I have ever owned,Let me start by saying I own a Canon Powershot, I should of kept my money because this Kodak is way better than the Powershot. Tons more features, better picture quality, and the picture touch technology makes this thing a steal. I would gladly pay up to $300 for this camera, its well worth every penny.
|
Short lived LCD screenGreat while it worked. Had it a few months. My wife carried it in her purse. Pulled it out to take a pic and the LCD screen was broken beneath the outer layer. Found many postings online of similar results. Not covered under warranty. Not recommended.
|
This is a really great camera for the price!I love this camera. I have had some very high end cameras that did not take photos as well as this one! Nice and clear and with great detail and color!
I am sold on this and highly recommend it. |
Very Impressive OpticsI have a couple of DSLRS (namely Canon D Series) that I use for semi-pro projects that I shoot for clients. This Kodak pocket DCAM is amazing in terms of quality and useability. It is very easy to use and has a nice solid feel to it. I've owned it for a few months now and it still does a really nice job with good color saturation and spot-on razor sharp focus.
Great camera at a great price. Nice find... |
Great snapshot camera.Kodak EasyShare V803 8MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Cosmic Blue)
This camera is easy to use and has suited my purposes very well so far. I am not really worried about the technical details and I think that the V803 is a very good snapshot/point and shoot camera. |
Thank you to everyone who postedThank you for everyone who posted a review. I was just outside taking pictures (it is freezing out)... and the camera just froze up. I quickly became annoyed, came inside and googled "problems" on this type of camera. To my surprise, this is apparently a common problem that it freezes when you are in a cold place???. After reading one of the posts, I took the battery out and put it back in and was able to actually shut the camera off!
Thank you everyone! |
Battery ProblemsIf you take the camera outside in cold weather,(very short time) you won't be able to shoot. Battery won't operate. Go back inside, take battery out and reinstall, the camera works again.
|
Perfect for anyone, a great camera with lots of features! After having one of the first digital cameras on the market, a CX6330 Kodak Camera, it was time for an upgrade from 3.1 to 8.0 megapixels. Quite a bit of progress has happened with Kodak in the past 6 years and I am happy to say that I am very satisfied with their product once again. First off, the battery that comes with the camera is awesome. It lasts forever, and charges really quickly. I owned the camera for almost a month before I had to charge it... I had taken over 50 pictures and about 10 minutes of video. As for the video - it isn't great, but it certainly isn't bad either: pretty clear, well focused, but a little grainy at times. Perfect for you to upload video to myspace or share video with friends using email since it doesn't take up a ton of space. Also, there is no look-through viewfinder on this camera. I don't miss it one bit! This camera is so easy to use and works wonderfully on my Apple iMac with iPhoto. Also, I could have bought the 1003 but instead chose to buy the 8003. 8.0 megapixel cameras are used by the professionals and zooming in doesn't lessen the quality of the photos, going with a 10 megapixel camera just wastes hard drive space unneccessarily in my opinion. To sum it up, I LIKE THIS CAMERA! Don't hesitate to buy it, if you can get it for just over $110, it's worth it!

Cute color, poor camera! This camera makes me really sad! I had an older Kodak that I loved, but I wanted something smaller so I bought this one. I love the way it looks, but the photo quality is very poor. I have tried every setting it has (as has my more technologically advanced friends) and we can't get it to take good pictures at night or indoors. The photos during the bright of day outside are fine, but go inside or allow the sun to go down, and no amount of light or flash can get this camera to take good pictures. It's also very sensitive and gives blurry photos a lot. Unfortunately, I gave my big, wonderful, old Kodak away, so even thought I bought this only not long ago, I am already in the market for a better one. I have a trip to Italy coming up and would enevr trust this camera to such an important event!

impressedThis is my first camera. It so happens that my daughters friend had a Kodak and I really enjoyed it, enough to purchase my own. I haven't had a chance to "use" it. Already it seems to meet my requirements and expectations. I don't need but basics but it has the bells and whistles too. Good price as well.

Two Strikes, You're out! This is the second Kodak EasyShare V803 8MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Silver Argent) I've bought within the last 12 months. The first was a birthday gift for my 18 yr old daughter. About 2 months later she called to tell me the viewscreen had stopped working. We thought she may have bumped it so I bought a replacement. Less than 2 months later the new camera had the same problem. I contacted Kodak who said it may be a design flaw but I'd have to pay $90 for it to be repaired.
After over 30 yrs of owning only Kodak cameras, spending over $200 for 2 practically useless cameras in the same year, and being told I'd have to pay for what may be a design flaw.....I spent the $90 on a new Sony Cyber Shot. I don't plan to buy from Kodak anymore. I also share my experience with friends to save them from making the same costly error. |
LCD screen breaks very easily!!!Kodak EasyShare V803 8MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Pink Rose)
I purchased this camera a few months ago and I was very disappointed with the quality of the pictures from day one. They tend to be very grainy. You can take the same picture twice and it's just hit or miss but no predictability. I only had the camera for four months and I went out and the LCD screen broke. I didn't drop it, it was possibly just sitting in my purse the wrong way. It is extremely delicate and it costs an arm and leg to get the LCD screen replaced. I suggest to you all avoid this and kodaks in general. If you look online you'll see this is a common problem. |
A Tremendous Camera for the PriceMy wife and I have used this camera for about two years now. It is the easiest camera to operate that we have ever owned and takes great photos. Prior to purchasing this Kodak model, we had spent quite a bit more on an Olympus camera. I don't even know where we put it because we never use it anymore. I use to let my wife take all the pictures because mine always turned out blurry. This Kodak model has an image stablization feature that let's me take pictures that are in focus about 99 percent of the time. We just returned from a vacation to Sedona and took almost 400 pictures and only two were out of focus. The clarity of the photos and the ease of use makes this a great little camera. Many of our friends have raved about the quality of our photos. As I said earlier, we have had this camera for two years and have not had any problems with it. I would recommend this camera to anyone who thinks that they will never be able to take good photos.

Kodak EasyShare V803 8MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Silver Argent)I use the camera primarily for work. It takes wonderful pictures of the properties, however, the camera takes poor indoor pictures of people.

Great PicsI have really enjoyed this camera, I have already had many compliments on how nice my pics are!!

Daytime Only CameraThis camera is great for outdoor sunny use. Any other time it produces blurry images. If you raise the ISO over 200 the image is also very grainy. I would only recommend getting this camera if you are only willing to take outdoor still pictures on sunny days.

Best camera out there for such a reasonable price!I bought this for my daughers 21st birthday. Having just had a baby, her old camera was too slow to catch all the"firsts" in his life. I looked for specific features, such as reaction time, red eye reduction, rechargeable battery, good quality video and such. I was far surpassed in my delight at this camera!! It was more than I thought I could get for what I could afford, and now, I wish I had bought one for myself as well. My daughter loves it, and you should see the pictures of my little grandson! Great product, I have already reccomended it to others.

Purple PassionI fell in love first of all with the color of the camera...I LOVE PURPLE! After receiving this camera right before Christmas, I haven't put it down...I've taken pictures at all of my family events which include the debutante ball, graduation, birthdays, college road trip party, etc. and the pictures are phenominal! I change the background on my computer every week because I have so many wonderful pictures stored in my camera. I recommend this camera for not only the quality of the pictures, but also the price. I have truly gotten my money's worth plus some...enjoy!

Expensive Disposable - below average pictures. When the camera was first released, many customers experienced a problem in which the camera would freeze periodically and the only way to regain control would be to remove the battery and power cycle. Another more recent problem consumers are experiencing now is cracking the fragile LCD screen on this device. It's roughly as durable as an eggshell. Once the LCD is broken you cannot use this camera. Don't be tempted to buy a used one without the LCD... it's useless. Lastly, when the camera is working properly, it does not perform nearly as well as other cameras in its 2007 class - there are many cameras that produce better pictures at lower retail prices. When I presented a working version of this camera to many friends and family I COULD NOT TRADE OR EVEN GIVE IT AWAY for FREE. My friends and relatives liked their Fujitsu, Nikon or Canon ALOT better. Don't give into the temptation to pick up this inexpensive 8MP camera; you WILL be dissapointed.

Great Camera!!This camera is my first digital camera and it takes fantastic pictures. My family and I went to Ripley's Believe it or not in St. Augustine and the photos came out great.. outside and inside. Outside I used the general (auto) setting and inside I used the museum setting. All the pictures came out amazing.

Good for its purpose...The thing about this camera is that its a point-and-shoot. Its super easy to use, but no matter what you're doing, its extremely difficult to capture a picture that looks completely clear when it is blown up to the size its supposed to blow up to. The zoom goes up to 3.0, but is only clear to about 1.5, and the machine makes the 1.5x and more zoom seem lousy on the interface. I used this camera for a trip and got some good pictures, but was disappointed to see that many of the pictures didn't appear clearly full size.
Its definitely a good camera with over 15 picture modes, but it hasn't won me over because its lack of image stabilization. |
Having TroubleI bought this camera - Kodak EasyShare V803 8MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Mystic Purple) for my neice as a birthday present. The good part is it worked on her birthday. The bad news is that it hasn't worked since. Her mother has been trying to contact the supplier to return it for over three weeks. They've been closed for the holiday(?). So, I'm not happy with this purchase at all and will not buy any other electronic items from Amazon or their vendors. I will have Amex involved in this by this coming Monday, if the problem is not resolved. Amazon's good for books and anything without moving parts and that's about it.
