very satisfied
I spent maybe too much time looking at cameras before choosing this one...and I'm happy with this camera. To me, it's just right size (little larger than business card and 1-inch to 1.5-inch thick) and a good list of features.
what I like the most:
1. battery: (2) AA...can use rechargeable batteries and easily replace with regular batteries when power is low.
2. play without powering on (semi power...to be exact)
3. multiple pictures automatically combined into one picture.
4. record and pause and record and pause...during video recording...you will have only one video file
For under $200, it's a very good deal...I bought mine under 180

Incredible buy!!!!
After much searching to get a new digital camera (my old Canon died miserably), I made sure to get as much information from reviews and feedback as I could possibly get to buy the right camera for my needs and this Samsung beauty DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!!
It is lightweight, good-looking, affordable, with awesome screen resolution and the images are crisp and clear.
The zoom in this little powerhouse is excellent, good enough so that your pictures at the highest possible zoom turn out very good!
The functions on this Samsung camera are comprehensible enough to make you're life easy.
Also, it is small enough to be carried in the palm of your hand!
All in all, I would highly recommend this camera to anyone: it is practical and it has everything you could get for the price that you paid.

Fully loaded
This camera is an awesome piece for its price. I spent too much time looking for a quality camera which has audio/video recording and playback.
It also has big lcd, 3x optical zoom. But remember the batteries that come with this camera doesn't last more than a minute, it is not worth the time opening the battery pack. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO USE THE FULLY CHARGED RECHARGEABLES FROM THE VERY FIRST USE OF THIS CUTIE and also they last very long.
There are too many good things to mention about this camera. I suggest you go to [...] and download the manual in your preferred language. Good luck folks, trust me this camera never let you down.

Don't bother
My camera just came yesterday and it will not even turn on. The batteries that came with it were dead. I tried two sets of just out of the package Alkaline batteries and it still wouldnt turn on. I called Samsung Techincal support and evne after I told them I already tried 3 sets of batteries they insisted that I had to try yet another set while I was on the phone with them. What possible difference could my being on the phone make? I bought this camera to take pictures of the new baby who will be here anyday and that wont be happening now. Samsung suggested I either send it back to Amazon or to their service center.

Nice little camera for the price!
I bought this for my 24 year old daughter for Christmas. She is extremely happy with it. The batteries don't seem to drain as fast as her previous camera and she really likes the 2.4 inch screen, which is why she wanted a new camera. Is really easy to use and didn't take long for her to figure out all the cool features. Very glad I picked this camera.

Love IT!!
I purchased this camera for my teen daughter's. They LOVE them. Easy to use/learn. Takes great pictures!! The only thing I would of liked the camera to have is a battery that can be recharged (BUT...the AA's last for a long time.
|
very very happy
this is my first digital camera and its easy to use with great print quality. It eats batteries like crazy though but i needed to invest in a charger anyway.
|
Frustrating
I think that I would like the camera if the batteries lasted long enough for me to take a picture with! I placed at least 8 new sets of batteries in the thing and it wouldn't even turn on. I did manage to find a decent set of batteries that lasted maybe half a day. I was so disappointed that I returned it and sought another camera with an internal rechargeable battery. The zoom wasn't that great either, some of my pictures turned out blurry even though I held the camera ultra still.

Love It!
I bought this camera mostly to take pictures of my new son...but have used it for tons of things! I love it! The pictures are vivid & clear! I have even taken several short videos, and they have great quality (just be sure to adjust the settings). I bought rechargeable batteries, and can take plenty of video and tons of pictures before having to change them out! I was surprised to find that it doesn't suck too much battery power to download all the photos/videos to my computer! Overall GREAT camera; cannot beat it for the price!!
|
Awesome!!
I bought this camera for my in laws, and they loved. Very simple for them to use, and lots of fun extras for the pictures. Besides being easy to take the pictures, they turn out really good. Great camera for a great price.

Great little camera!!
I got this camera for my daughter for Christmas...it is a great little camera!! Small enough she can throw it in her purse and go and it takes great pictures. It has many cool extra little features too...like memo and movie. Only fault we've found is it does not come with a memory card. Not a big deal as it does have internal memory, she just went out and got a new memory card to hold extra pictures. I'd highly recommend

Good Product for Price
I purchased this for my son and he really likes everything about the camera. He loves the quality of pictures. He did mention the camera has a proprietary cable that hooks to his computer - just an FYI.

The Battery Killer
I bought Samsung Digimax S600 6.0 MP, the battery consumption is tooooo much. To take about 50 pictures I had to change the Duracell batteries twice. With rechargable cells (ofcourse the energizer ones meant for digital camera) the max you can take is 20-25 pictures, So if you plan to use this Camera for any important occasion be prepared to carry atleast 3 sets of batteries. It is really frustrating when the battery goes off.
The zoom is also not good, better to pay additional 50$ to get a sony or a canon with 4 MP and 5X optical zoom.

Kickass
I like the camera it is better than the last one I had that wouldn't take pictures in even the slightest dark lighting this camera does. Nice picture quality and easy to use, The only negative I have is the Battery it dies quite fast but this is not a problem aslong as you get a battery charger and a set of energizer batteries.

Great Camera, but a battery eater
This camera takes awesome pictures, even at long distances in infinity mode.
Just got some pics of a moose 1/2 mile away. The only complaint I have is the battery usage. I've had the camera powered on for probably 20 minutes total, and it shut off due to 'low battery'. Testing the batteries indicated ~80% power left, so I don't know if there's a flaw in the camera's power sensor or what.

GREAT DIGITAL CAMERA
This digital camera is awesome. I have no problem with the batteries. I made sure I put the good batteries in (no cheap ones). I looked at purchasing a canon and a hp but the features it had on this one was outstanding and for the price. I purchased this camera with the 1GB card with it. I can't wait to start using it when I go to San Diego in March..... Awesome digital camera...... You won't be sorry on this purchase....

Nice and Small, But Not the Best Pictures
This camera is nice and small and is pretty easy to use. The large LCD screen on the back is very crisp and nice.
BUT it is a battery hog, probably because it has no view finder and no way to turn off the huge . You must invest in the premium ilthium photo batteries. The regular Duracells / Energizers will be gone after just 8 photos. I recently took this camera on a safari to Africa. I took about 200 photos and -- I am not kidding -- ended up going through 28 batteries! (couldn't get the more expensive photo kind in Kenya)...
Also, I am not much of a photographer, but I have gotten much better quality photos (more crisp, better colors) from other point-and-click cameras such as the Kodak EasyShare.
Also, this is one of those annoying cameras that has about a 2 second delay between when you press the button and when it actually snaps, due to multiple layers of red-eye flickering. SO annoying. Makes it so much more difficult to get a good shot.

Great value
I am completely satisfied with the overall value of this camera. The picture quality is great and it is very easy to use. The LCD is clean and bright. The video capture lacks a little, but for the price I don't think you could get any better.

delighted with camera & its capablities
After owning and using the camera for a month or so now, I am delighted with it. I have only replaced the batteries one time, so don't know what the review hullabuloo about that was for. small lightweight, many features. choice of 6 meg, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 meg photos at fingertips. What I really decided on this camera for was the MACRO capability as I take photos of very small coins, and must be able to get in within an inch or two to do that. It preforms magnificantly. My previous camera had to add additional lens to do this which was a hassle. I love the Samsung digimax S600.

Picture quality not all that great
I've owned a few digital cameras and none have met the quality as my roll film Olympus om1, but of course paying for film, process with cd costs more and is inconvenent, of all the digitals I've owned, olympus d-36l, kodak dc215, this is far better, but picture quality is not as good as I would like. Iam not a heavy user of photos, here and there around town and some of family, but mainly I paint oil paintings and need a good way to download my work for good advertizing, prints and records..I choose this camera mainly for the low price and thinking the 6mp would be good enough, it is o.k. but not near as good as my om1, which I will still use to archive my paintings. As for battery use, I read the reveiws on this and at the same time bought a charger and batterys, so the usage has been o.k., but like I said Iam not a heavey user of photos. One thing I really don't care about is the short movie stuff and all the other settings which is only confussing and a waste as far as I need..if they had only left it as a camera with simple to use features I would like it better and the fact the manual is almost worthless, so little info and so small and hard to read, I downloaded the one available and of course did not print it out as I think it has 45 pages or something like that...the compact size is great, fits into my shirt pocket...I feel the same way about this camera as I do for digital watches, all I really need is the basic's not all the added stuff that makes setting more difficult and useless...

ok at the price
I have some problems with this camera. I did not notice it has no optical viewfinder, so it eats batteries, especially in cold weather. The battery compartment opens too easily, the batteries fall out often. The instructions are minimal. This is my first digital camera, so there has been too much trial and error. For example, I still don't know how to use the flash as a fill flash, or even if that is possible. Finally, the disk-loaded program that loads the photos to my computer has not yet worked. Both the auto mode and scene mode (for snow) worked well, the pictures look fine.

Nice and Small, But Awful Pictures
This camera is nice and small and is pretty easy to use. The large LCD screen on the back is very crisp and nice.

Also, this is one of those annoying cameras that has about a 2 second delay between when you press the button and when it actually snaps, due to multiple layers of red-eye flickering. SO annoying. Makes it so much more difficult to get a good shot.

unpredictable battery life!
Takes nice quality pictures, but the unpredictable battery life is frustrating as hell!
Turn it on
*beep beep*
Battery is dead. ...or is it?
Turn it back on [3 or 4 more times]
Works fine [SOMETIMES]
I've used many different kinds of batteries [brand new ones] and this is a consistant and irritating problem. This could be the best camera in the world but it doesn't mean anything if it won't turn on!
Incredibly annoying. Am i the only one with this problem?

Awesome camera for the beginner who wants it all
This was my first digital camera, I've had it for a year, and I still love it (although I am upgrading to a camera with an underwater accessory case). I wanted a camera with high MP and zoom capability, video with sound was a must, and the price had to be low! I love the picture quality, I have never taken a picture that I didn't like, although the picture will be fuzzy if you move or have a shaky hand (I still like those ones anyway. Artsy, no?). The rotary knob selection is awesome! The interface is very user friendly, even my stone age parents were able to navigate this camera (trust me, that's an amazing feat!). So, I will give it to them when I upgrade. The video feature is awesome, I used it to document my life and paste it on myspace, but the microphone is located right where you would place your left pointer finger when holding the camera - so keep your finger off it when filming or else your sound will get messed up! As Adam said, sometimes the battery beep likes to play tricks on you! It has happened to me three times and it can be very frustrating!! Especially with an impromptu shot! I always carry extra batteries and I only use rechargeable batteries (I buy the cheaper ones), they're a little pricy but they save you SO MUCH MONEY! I have never had any other problems with this camera. This camera is definitely not for the pros, it's for every day use and people who don't know how amazing a picture can be or don't want to pay for a camera with that kind of capability. I threw a silicone skin on it, tossed it, dropped it, and shoved it in every pocket, purse and backpack that I have ...It was my little buddy for a year and I loved it!
P.S. I highly recommend silicone skins and screen protectors for cameras!! My camera hasn't a scratch on it.

Great Value for the $$
I've had my camera for about a year now and I have absolutely zero complaints. Its stylish, compact, easy to load batteries, and of course- takes great quality pictures. I'm not too much of a techie, so I don't speak megapixels and optics, but take my word for it, it works great!

Great Buy
I purchased for my boyfriend last year for Christmas and it's still working.
The camera is nice and small, nothing fancy but it's a good product.
I would make sure to purchased rechargeable batteries as you can go through regular batteries in 1 day. Also get an sd card for it to store your pictures.

Great camera for the price
This camera is excellent. It is the 3rd digital I've owned and I've enjoyed it very much. It's compact and full of features. You MUST, however, use super alkeline batteries because it eats the normal ones up fast. The batteries made for digital cameras do much better and are worth the price. The camera has a video feature that outshines any other camera I've seen on the market. I would highly recommend this product as a good value for little money you pay for it

Very good (cost-benefit)!
The cam is good and cheap. The problem is only about the battery... it goes really fast.
