I like it, but I'm not in-love with it.
I really wanted to love this camera after the guy at the store made such a fuss over how great of a camera it was and all. He told me about all these features, (which I have yet to find) and yada yada yada, I was sold. We bought the camera, took it home, and took lots and lots of pictures with it.
I've only had it for not even 24 hours and I'm already starting to feel not so great about this camera. I really love the pictures it takes, when I stand completely still and the lighting is PERFECT. Other than that, it's not great for indoor activities or if you have a shaky hand. It often gives me a blurry picture if I'm not almost completely still or if I'm trying to take a picture of my dog. It does have an action feature just for this, but the problem is it has to be very bright inside the house in order for you to get some color, otherwise the pictures are dark, not just slightly dark either, I mean dark. (That's even with all the lights on.)
So this camera is best used outside or with lots of lighting. Also great for outdoor activities, but not so great for indoor activities. I really like this camera and most of it's pictures, but it just wasn't what I was looking for, I need something that will take great movement pictures indoors as well as outdoor and has a better "non-blur" feature.
Also, one more thing about the macro shots for up close pictures, they don't turn out so great with flash, again, you must have great lighting for these pictures.

Great high zoom camera without the weight and bulk
I've had this camera for about three weeks and have taken several hundred pictures with it. It takes excellent pictures with amazing detail and color. Despite the fact that I am often photographing moving children, fewer than 5% of the pictures have been blurry. This camera's ability to take excellent action shots with no blur is one of its strongest features, in my opinion. A second superior feature of the camera, relative to the last camera I bought recently and returned (Canon Powershot SX 100IS) is the fast next shot delay. This camera is ready to take another picture, even after using the flash, relatively quickly. I say "relatively" because there is still a delay, but compared to the sluggish Canon, it is a great improvement. If you don't have the flash on, then the next shot delay is very fast. Also, the time the camera is ready to take the first picture from the time I take it out of the camera bag is quite short.
I have tried taking close up pictures of jewelry with the macro setting, which is only a one-button press. I thought it did a pretty decent job, although I did have to play around with the lighting to make sure that the flash didn't get reflected.
Another superior feature of this camera, relative to the Canon mentioned above, is the operation of the zoom. I find that I can control the exact amount of zoom with the button, whereas with the Canon, the zoom seemed to jump discontinuously.
For the amount of power (meaning the 10x zoom) and precision of this camera, it is very light (under a pound) and compact. I was able to take a whole series of shots at the playground using just one hand with no trouble, and the weight of the camera did not cause my hand to get tired.
Another feature I really like is that after taking a bunch of pictures, you can review them as a slide show with music and special effects. I did this at the end of a dinner party and was able to instantly show guests a slide show of the dinner on the camera.
As far as negative features, there are only two that I have discovered. The first is that there is a lens cap that has to be put on and taken off manually. You attach the cap to the camera strap with a string, so it's not a big problem; just a little inconvenient. In contrast, Canons' lens covers are built in, and the lens is covered with just a press of a button. The second negative feature is common to all Sony products and that is their proprietary accessories. The camera requires a Sony rechargeable battery (one comes with the camera, as does the recharger, but I bought an extra one) and a Sony pro-duo memory card. For me this is worth it because I really like Sony cameras.
In summary, I think this camera takes excellent pictures while being lightweight and compact. It's a good camera for a person like me, who often wants to take pictures of kids moving without having to mess with a bunch of settings to change the camera speed. I am very happy with this camera and highly recommend it to people who have similar needs. Sony Cybershot DSCH10/B 8.1MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom with Super Steady Shot

Great camera!
I exchanged a Canon SX100 for this camera, and I am so glad I did. This camera is lightening fast with flash shots (compared to the VERY SLOW Canon). Indoor pictures are great as well as outdoor. I have taken a ton of pictures and very few have been slightly blurry, most come out clear with good color. Flash looks natural, as opposed to the canon which would either over or under expose shots. I love that the camera is compact and small enough to fit in a regular camera case, but yet still has the long reach 10x optical zoom. I also love the 3" LCD.
Pros:
-Compact with 10x optical zoom
-3" LCD
-Good indoor photos
-No delay in between shots
-Battery meter always showing
-Slide show with music is too cool!
Cons: (Very minor and do not take away from camera at all)
-No automatic lens cover (has lens cap)
-No zoom in video mode (although if I want great video, I'll use my video camera)
-Comes with Shoulder strap - I prefer wrist strap (Fixed by ordering a wrist strap off ebay for $2)
If you want a compact camera with a lot of zoom and good quality pictures, definitely go with this one. The only other cameras that have same features: Canon SX100 (too slow between flash, indoor shots are not good), Panasonic TZ3 (reviews say picture quality not good), and Canon G9 (only has 6x zoom and has a hefty price tag). To me, the Sony is the way to go for the average shooter who mainly shoots in automatic mode but occasionally plays with other settings. I have owned for about a week, if anything changes, I will update my review, but so far - GREAT!!!!

BEWARE if you upgraded your computer from XP to Windows Vista...
THE WARNING:
A Sony camera requires investment for its special accessories: special battery and charger instead of a convenient AA rechargeable ones, memory stick instead of convenient SD cards, etc. So, if Sony wants a world for itself I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT ITS DRIVER'S SOFTWARE DOES NOT WORK on operating systems that were upgraded from XP to Windows Vista.
I am "upgrading" from Canon... from which I never had problems on software, could recharge any time with any charger, use my plenty of SD cards, which are readable in almost all laptops, not like the memory sticks ones, for which generally you require an adaptor.
This "tiny failure" is not mentioned on the Sony package. It just ways it works on Vista. But it does not work on Upgraded to Vista. They should warn. You need to pay for the camera (and memory sticks and for one extra battery) and start shooting around, before you come across with the failure when trying to download your gorgeous pictures to your computer... until then you will spend plenty of time trying to make your computer recognizes your camera, with no results. I tried everything (install, uninstall, system restore, delete other drivers, change the mass storage option on the memory stick, try to bridge the pictures from an hp printer, you name it).
This is the response I got from Sony: "I'm really sorry for the difficulty you're experiencing to transfer the recordings from your Sony camera to your computer running Windows Vista Operating System. Even though the USB interface of the camera is compatible with the Windows Vista Operating System, the operation cannot be guaranteed if the Operating System is upgraded." I am sure by now that this "principle" applies to all cyber shot cameras or any other Sony product ([...]).
Upgraded to Windows Vista is something I am not proud of. I have had many problems, (as plenty of people). But what should Sony expect us to do? It was a major investment (plenty of accessories!). I have to borrow another computer to get my pictures downloaded (Windows Vista upgraded users: beware even more, is not easy to find a compatible card reader!).
The software for the organization, edition and store the pictures is great, it works for me. The failure is in the software of the driver that allows your computer to detect your Sony camera.
Now, for THE PRODUCT ITSELF:
PROS: Big screen, great zoom, lightweight, conventional cap, great flash, many features even fancy ones (music and so).
CONS: Too many features (is ok only when you become familiar), the lack of proper software for the driver (major defect for windows vista upgraded users).
It is a good camera, something not pro, but with so many features that you'll feel like a pro. Specially the zoom (10x, wow!). The big screen, despite delicate, helps to detect blurs that cannot be easily appreciated in smaller screens (it gets greasy easily, so use a plastic screen protector). However, I would qualify the zoom, at its full length, with an 8, so far. Sometimes it is blurry (very little, but is), and sometimes not (in similar conditions shots), so I guess that it is not a 100% steady, but is ok considering its competitors (minor zoom and even more sensitive to movement). Just hold it firmly.
The lack of built-cap I cannot be sure if it is one of the "cons" because I had two Canon before this Sony and both suffered damage in its cap at any point (It did not close properly, it bended, did not open, etc.), so an old fashioned cap is ok as long as you fix a thread (are many on the market) to avoid losing it.
I like the flash also. It is strong, long and has different ways to use it: there is one that allows illuminating the whole scene, instead of just the proximity, so it is very useful for indoor pictures. You'll get beautifully illuminated interiors, with or without people. This is different from my previous Canon cameras.
It takes time to become a pro in the use of all its features. It has plenty. If you just want to focus and shot, then buy something less expensive. The features are promisingly great, but I am not so fast using it, I take my time. If you are going to a trip, is better that you become more than familiar with this little thing before so it can do a great job. Otherwise you will find yourself shooting in automatic all the time, and if that is so, why this camera then?
Camera: ***** (all in all). Driver compatibility: (zero). Total: ***

Sweet zoom!
This camera has enabled me to take equally great photos at my kids' Little League games and when out seeing bands - and so much more. The videos are awesome. All-around easy to use point-and-shoot with excellent zoom ability. A good option before the SLR-like model step.

Compared several and this is the keeper!
I tried several cameras before deciding to stick with this one. Other cameras I tried were the Canon sx100is, Panasonic Lumix TZ4, Kodak Easyshare Z712, and finally the Canon S5. I really expected to like the Canon S5 the best, but this little camera out shot the Canon in most all conditions. The Sony, in my opinion, gave me the ability to quickly take pictures that consistently turned out well. The video is nice quality as long as you use the 'fine' mode. This is a nice little camera and I enjoy using it!

Sony Rules
When I purchased this camera, it was a toss up between the Sony and the Canon G9 (Not a Panasonic fan so the Lumix was not an option). Although the Canon has more megapixels and costs a hundred or so more, I found the Sony to be the better choice. The Sony is more compact and lightweight, and offers more optical zoom than the Canon. Obviously I am not a professional photographer, but as a dad with three children this was the better choice for me for sports, concerts, special moments, and the like. It is a great camera for the buyer who wants both the auto feature with a great deal of zoom, and for the more more experienced and adventerous shooter who seeks out manual controls. It is not a pocket-sized camera, but it is very compact for the features it offers. I uploaded two photos (Bumble Bee and Zucchini) that I ordered in 5x7 prints and the quality and clarity amazed me. This is my second Cyber-Shot and I am completely satisfied. Cybershot H10 8.1 Megapixel Digital Camera Black

Sony DSCH10
Found this camera very easy to use and focus. Produces excellent pictures. Though there may be better more sophisticated camers, the DSCH10 is small and light making it easy to use and transport.

great camera
I have owned this camera for about 6 months and have enjoyed it a lot! It takes great pictures and has lots of different options. The only trouble I've had is the lens cap does not attach to anything, so it swings around all over the place when I'm taking pictures. I solved this by attaching velcro to the front of the cap and the side of the strap. The other thing I do not like is that the dial on the top tends to move quite easily and sometimes I find myself taking pictures on a setting I did not plan on. I just fix it and retake the picture, but it's a little annoying. I do love, however, the movie feature. They are very clear and upload to our computer/blog easily. My family loves seeing pictures and movies of my kids - especially family that is out of town. All in all, this is a great camera!

Nice Camera
I really liked this camera most of all for its speed in taking the pictures, captured my dog so clearly as he was jumping in the air, awesome!! Zoom is great. I would have kept this camera for the great pictures but the following reasons really annoyed me:
1. the lens cap has to be taken off manually, hangs by a string, no clip to attach to the camera strap. If you don't take it completly off it gets in the way of shooting.
2. the on/off button is very tiny and is flush on the top of the camera making it sometimes difficult to turn on or off especially in a hurry.
3. no delete button, have to go through too many steps to delete a picture.
4. should be an indentation on the back for your thumb to rest and a better grip.

Better than I expected
This camera is well worth the price. It is simple to use, takes great pictures, and has fantastic zoom. It exceeds expectations for a point and shoot. People who want burst mode to work indoors with poor lighting don't buy this camera, spend the money and get a DSLR or set up your shots with the proper lighting to make it work. Burst = no flash.

Small with many larger camera features
I have a larger SLR digital Nikon and a pocket Canon, but this is now my favorite, most used camera. Lots of useful features, fairly fast, built-in flash is more powerful than other small cameras. I like the mode wheel being visible in the view screen when the actual mode wheel is turned. Takes great shots and the zoom is far better than most digitals. Not as small as my pocket Canon but still small enough to fit easily into a purse or fanny pack. Only thing I would want to change would be to have a view finder window for the eye, which would save battery power and is better for lowlight viewing. One tiny problem is that while holding the camera, my hand touches the mode wheel and accidentally changes modes occasionally. Otherwise, a great little camera!

Sony Cybershot
Sony Cybershot DSC-H10 8.1MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom with Super Steady Shot
This camera is very good for the price. I'm still trying to figure out all of the features. I've had some blurry pictures, but those are usually when I'm taking pictures in dark conditions. The zoom is wonderful and pictures are clear.

Simply unreal pictures
This is the best camera for the money period. I tested every camera I could find and this camera takes the best pictures for the size. Indoors and out I would say that you could not have better pictures with anything else short of a DSLR camera. This is the closest thing to a perfect camera and lens that exists. The 10x lens is amazing and the anti-blurring technology is great.

General Pics Person
I bought this camera for my sister-in-law who is not a pro picture taker....it takes the thinking out of taking pics. Very easy to use with great results. Nice, bright 3" screen on the back of the camera. Battery life seems to be very good.
Great overall camera.

Sony DSC-H10 Perfect For Travel
Tired of carrying around a much larger SLR camera with interchangeable lenses and small view screen I found the H10 a very nice replacement. The 10X zoom is more then enough for my travel picture needs. In Alaska I zoomed in on a bald eagle resting on a distant electrical tower. The large 3" viewing screen allows me to compose my picture without wearing any glasses. Mode selector knob easily allows me to find the right picture taking mode. Virtually no shot delay and multiple shooting mode works machine gun fast. Steady shot is always on, removing any moves I may make and later blaming on the camera. Taking pictures at twilight and night resulted in very high quality pictures. Issues? With a 4gb memory chip I tend to overshoot, bringing my battery to exhaustion. No problem, added an extra battery and off I go. Yes you can read where other reviewers will complain about what the H10 will not do. Then again, if you take the time to fully read the manual several times, practice with the camera and learn from your mistakes, you will find the camera is fine. It's the operator making the mistakes. Nice job Sony!

Love this camera!
This is my first digital camera. I love this camera! I knew from friends who had digital cameras that there is a long wait time between shooting and getting the picture. I chose this one because Consumer Reports said most Sony Cybershots have a fast shooting time. This camera is very fast! I have shot lightning shots, very close macro shots. The pictures are detailed and clear. There are alot of options on this camera, and especially love the ISO feature. Would recommend this camera to all digital camera lovers. One issue is that the camera did not come with a memory card, and since it was my first digital camera did not know needed this. Also, not the best written instructions. But camera is easy to use, so figured things out.

Worth the money spent
I am highly impressed by this digital camera made by Sony. This camera is as close to a digital SLR as you can get without paying three times the amount of money. This camera is loaded with special features just like any quality SLR digital camera. Crisp photos that you are able to blow up to poster sized photographs. Before spending a high amount of money on a SLR read the features that this camera comes equipped with.

great

Vacation documented with easy.
The Sony Cyber-shot Model DSC-H10 camera was bought four weeks before leaving on our 3500+ mile driving trip thru 12 states. Great pictures with quick recovery for next shot. I did purchase a spare battery for backup which was a quick recovery when notified of low battery power.

Great camera!!
I bought this for my daughter so I have not used this camera. She is very happy with the performance and the picture quality.

Fine camera - still need to learn how to use all of its capablities
I think this camera is very good, just that my skill in using it is limited. I have been experimenting with it for the last couple of weeks and have had mostly good success. The zoom is great since the camera it is replacing was only a 3x. I think the zoom is causing me some concern because at full zoom I probably need to keep it extremely steady, when i do so normally the picture turns out well. When I don't purposely steady myself they can turn out blury. The only thing that I have found bothersome was the manual lense cap - but I knew that was a con when I bought it. Overall I am very happy with my purchase, just trying to figure out how to best use it.

EXCELLENT CAMERA!
I have owned 3 Sony digital cameras, and have LOVED them all! So when I decided to upgrade, I went straight to the latest Sony digitals to see if I could strike gold yet again with a Sony digital camera. And guess what??!!!
I DID!!!
I'm a stay-at-home Mother of five and I take LOTS of pictures. This H10 is perfect for all of the shots I take with my kids and various other things. The pictures are of high quality. I'll never buy a camera without the 10x optical zoom because Sony has spoiled me with that incredible zoom! The 8.1 megapixels produce quality pictures beyond my wildest imagination, which can be blown up to any reasonable size you would need them to be! The programs are so easy to use, that I didn't even have to read the manual to figure them out!!! One of my FAVORITE things about this camera is that when I actually push down the button, it captures the EXACT PICTURE I WAS TRYING TO GET without "missing the moment"!!!! I can't say that about all of the Sony's I've owned in the past. Anyway...this is THE camera to own and is at a FANTASTIC price on Amazon.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Small but DURABLE Camera, takes GREAT pics!!
I bought this camera for our office of about 35 transportation engineers. We have a small army of cameras that we take out for Field Work in the rain, sleet, and snow, and all of them must be durable and able to take detailed shots quickly in both good and bad lighting. This little guy has become a fast favorite of all the cameras, as it's easy to hold in your hand, takes steady shots in even the darkest of areas (it's all about the settings) and seems to be able to take a beating. The features are easy enough for even a novice to use, and everyone is able to upload the pictures onto their computers without any problems. A GREAT BUY!!
