My wife and I recently upgraded from our Sony DSC-P8 to a Sony DSC-W130. So far we are extremely happy. We shopped around quite a bit before settling on the new cybershot, and spent a good deal of time trying out other brands. In the end, the Smile Shutter brought us back to Sony. It sounds like there is no way it would work, but it really does. We have two young children that are remarkably hard to catch smiling. With the new Sony, all we have to do is turn on the smile shutter and the camera does the rest. So far, we haven't missed a smile with the 3 year (with teeth) and have caught a few of the 4 month old (no teeth). It makes a difference.
The other feature that has been great so far is the burst mode. With my old camera, the missing time between shot resulted in a lot of blurring. The new camera manages to focus each shot much better. We played around with some moving targets, and the pictures came out great. One major drawback of burst mode, however, is that you can't use flash. I took a bunch of pictures indoors and the quality was ok, but not great. The flash just turns off when you switch to burst mode.
The video recording is great on this camera. Obviously not camcorder quality or anything, but very good for what you'd expect from a point and shoot. The sound quality still isn't that great, but much much better from my older camera. It seems like it balances the audio in the first few seconds. If the first few seconds are loud, the whole video will be softer. If you start out soft, however, you bury the needle when it gets lounder leading to some distortion. You also can't zoom while in video mode - something they don't tell you.
The flash recharges after about 1-2 seconds, which is great. It also is pretty effective for long distances.
I like the menu configurations, especially now that I've had some time to play with them.
Picture quality is great, but I'm upgrading from a 2MP camera, so it probably wouldn't take too much to wow me. We took a ton of shots and were impressed at the level of detail when we zoomed in on our computer.
Overall, we are very happy with this camera. It has some limitations and problems, but for the money (and for being a point and shoot) it is great.

Very good all-around point and shoot |
Very Good productThe product is very good, the only fail is the battery. Doesn`t last to much.
Very good camera..Sony is superb alwaysI am die hard fan of Sony camera ..This is the second camera from Sony and picture quality and camera looks adorable.
I am very much happy on this product |
perfect cameraVery good camera, elegant and easy for taking by its small size, it incorporates good functions, and great quality of image in the screen, the photos have good resolusion at night and also.
Great cameraIt's just about perfect, for me. Of course, I'd like the quality and control of an SLR in a tiny package, but for something this portable it does a fine job. The onscreen descriptions of the settings are just fantastic, the ISO (low light) mode has to be seen to be believed...very little noise, even without flash. Pictures are mostly sharp, though without flash you still have to maintain a steady hand, as with any camera. Very balanced and realistic color. It's a very intuitive camera that lets you concentrate on your composition and not worry too much about exposure, which I think is what a small point and shoot should give you. I also love the 16x9 modes for stills, haven't done any video with it. I'd recommend getting a clear shield to stick on the screen, like I did...seems very scratchable otherwise. If I lost it I'd probably get the same camera again. I'm pretty conservative with my reviews, I'm sure many people would give this an unabashed 5 stars, and I almost did, but you still get the occasional surprise when you shoot something that should have turned out fine but didn't for some reason....I think it's just where the tech is at right now, but this camera rocks, no doubt.

Sony Cybershot Digital Camera 7.2 MPSuper price for this great an item- was a birthday gift to my 24 year old daughter. Couldn't ask for better quality and price. Great customer satisfaction from dealer. Thanks, Amazon and Vanns!!
Great product!!!This is simply a great point and shoot camera. I purchased this for my wife and she is very happy with it. The ease of use and the quality of picture are incomparable. Face detection technology and smile shutter are really wonderful but sincerely they are not very much useful. Overall I recommend this product to everyone who want a good point n shoot camera in low price.
Excellent CameraI bought this camera right before my senior prom, and it really came through on a day where I wanted to take a lot of pictures. The battery lasted all night (and I took 2gb worth of pictures). My friends have other cameras in the same price range, with the same or higher megapixels, but Sony cameras take superior pictures. They adjust to bright light or a dark room better. I keep the anti red eye flash turned on, so no photoshop is necessary later.
It's also worth mentioning that the video and microphone on this camera aren't bad. I've recorded a few concerts, where it's dark and there's a whole lot of background noise, and the videos turned out much clearer than I expected or hoped for. Plus, the camera is my favorite color, matches my iPod, and I get frequent compliments on it. |
Nice PicturesI bought this camera becuase I was going on a cruise to Bermuda. Never owning a sony before I crossed my fingers. I am so happy with this camera. It took such beautiful clear shots, motion shots were fuzzy but for the most part every picture I took was more outstanding then the next one. Easy to use, I bought a 4gb memory card and had over 1000 pictures I could take. I took 400 pictures and I am happy with them. This is a good camera and a good buy. I am a sony customer for life.
great cameraI also own a Sony A700 but it is a big camera to lug around all the time. I wanted something small that I could throw in my purse to carry all the time. This camera is wonderful. I get great shots in all kinds of light, the pictures are clear, close-ups are amazing, it's fast and the battery lasts a long time. The only thing that I would change to make it even better, is more optical zoom.
Great CameraThis is an excellent camera. Has lots of great features and takes excellent pictures. The movie capturing ability is also excellent with great sound reception. Make sure that you get a memory stick because the internal memory can only hold 5 pictures. I got the 4gb memory stick and can now hold 1290 pictures.
Amazing cameraThis camera is amazing! I love how big the screen is on the back and I also love how fast it takes the pictures! This is a very nice camera.
Sony Camera Rocks!!This camera is worth the price, Battery is good and the quality of snaps as good as what we expect from Sony. In all, I am happy to buy this camera and enjoy photographing :-))
good cameraIts all you want in a point and shoot. I can turn it on, not even look in the screen, push the button and get good in focus-properly light pictures. Is very thin, good button lay out. Only hit of a negative with it is the port to connect to the computer is on the bottom, would prefer it on the side, still a strong five stars.
Nice!!Cool little camera! Bought for our 13 year old, he loves it! Easy to use, nice pic's, does videos too! Can't go wrong with this camera!
Best little and cheap digital cameraExcelent pictures. Multiple face detection. Smile detection (fantastic). Good resolution on movies. Powerful flash. 4x3 and 16x9 pictures. Full HD 1080 prepared.
bad placement of connection to computer!!I was excited after I pulled the camera out of the box, charged the battery and took a few pictures. The indoor photos set for no flash, came out with much truer color on the display than those with the flash. The video quality wasn't bad, but the zoom doesn't work when taking a video.
Then I went to move the pictures to my computer, that's when I was disappointed. The connection place is on the bottom of the camera. That's not 100% bad, but it's not even covered! I don't know about anyone else, but when I put the camera down I usually put it on the base. I also use whatever's around as a tripod. Being one who takes pictures outside and other places where dirt/dust are around I found this quite disappointing. Unfortunately I felt that had to return it and start the camera search again. |
Great for priceWanted a camera that used the pro duo card (which I can put in my Sony TV for a slide show). Just got back from Disney with the family--great pictures, easy to use-am buying one for my daughter who is getting married!
Best GiftI bought this camera as a gift to my Mom. She is delighted and she never complained (yet). It's easy to use and work with. Great purchase.
Date/Time stamp? Can anyone tell me if this model has the date/time stamp fuction? I read that the newer Sony models don't have that option anymore (what a dumb decision from Sony!)...
Love thisI purchased this camera fro my trip to Paris and I was thrilled with the quality, speed, battery, and size. This was a great value.
LOVE LOVE LOVED IT |
Downloading photosAm I using this camera inappropriately? I get a lot of blurry shots and when it appears on camera that I took a good photo, when I download it to my computer it has a grainy look. My old Sony digital camera took way clearer and better pictures and this one is supposed to be a better model? Which makes me wonder if I'm not using it correctly. Can someone suggest anything?
nice cameraI got this to replace me DSC-W1. It is a nice camera. It fits into your pocket and purse really well. But, it is lacking some of the features that the older models have. It doesn't have the resize and trimming options. If it had these features I would of given it 5 stars.
Great productI love this camera. It was very easy to understand the instructions and I like the quality of the pictures.
Fast, fast shutterI've been in love with the Carl Zeiss lenses for years now, but my older Sony digital had such a slow shutter I was missing pics of my son. This camera takes really fast pictures!!! I also love the setting that allows me to force the camera to focus on a childs face before anything else in the frame. The blue color is stylish, and its small enough to fit in a front pocket. Looks great in a Kroo Camera Case Premium Quality Carrying Case for Sony Cyber-shot + Bonus Bundled with Universal LCD Screen Protector Kit + Cloth in light blue.

Shopped around; would buy it again; but be aware of minor issuesJust bought this new from a local retailer. Did a lot of research online comparing this model to some of Canon's compact cameras. I'm not a photography buff so I wanted something that was small and not necessarily the "best" but would still take nice pictures. I really like the features that it includes. The 4x zoom is greater than most at this price point, and even some more expensive cameras. Seems to have a lot of neat features, like the Smart Zoom (digital zoom without pixelation), multiple auto focus points, and ability to shoot 640x480 video. The face detection is pretty cool and seems to work really well. I thought about getting the DSC-W130 with its 8MP resolution and editing features, but figured that 8MP was more than I needed and I'd rather do my photo editing on the computer.
One or two "bugs" I'm aware of: 1. If you shoot using burst mode, you'll find that you can't turn the flash back on in any mode but Easy mode. You have to reset the camera back to factory defaults to shoot using the flash again. Even knowing this I would still buy the camera, but I'm hoping that enough people would alert Sony to this error to release a firmware update to fix it. Otherwise I would have given it five stars. 2. When you plug in the camera with the USB cable the lens may open, so be sure not to leave it face down when transferring data. |
Excellent purchaseI already had a sony cybershot and took great pictures. As it became older, the lenses would not open or close. I decided to purchase another camera. Due to the great quality pictures I had taken with my old sony, I decided to purchase a new cybershot and found this product to be a good value for its quality. I do feel that the batteries are very expensive in comparison to my previous one.
Nice and stylishThe Sony Cybershot DSCW120 is very stylish, lightweight and slim. It is very easy to use and the smile-shutter is a very fun feature. Too bad you cannot zoom-in/zoom-out while shooting a video.
great photosThis camera took great photos right out of the box. Just point and shoot. It's controls were simple enough for my tech illeterate fiance to document getting ready for our wedding, and then our honeymoon to spain. It didn't matter what time of day or night or the lighting conditions, the camera took beautifull pictures that rivaled my SLR. The smile function was interesting, aperantly you need a $100 smile to get the camera to snap your photo, but was a nice try on the engineers part. Very small and easy to put into a purse or even a pocket and not weight you down. Great camera.
Perfect for my needs!I was looking for a smaller camera that would take good quality pictures, especially on trips. I take college students abroad for a month in Costa Rica and wanted to be able to do a blog with lots of pictures to record their experiences. This camera far exceeded my expectations! It is extremely simple to operate. I have been able to figure out features that are new to me on the fly without having to refer to the manual. Particularly impressive to me are the video capabilities and the high sensitivity / low light with no flash setting. I have been able to take excellent shots in dark museums where no flash is allowed and have been able to upload good-quality videos to the blog. The software that comes with the camera works well and is very user-friendly. The 4X optical zoom is not powerful enough to take fine nature photographs from great distances, but it is good enough to zoom in to compose a picture for most general purposes. All in all, I highly recommend this camera, especially for travel.
I love it!!This camera is exactly what I was looking for! I have yet to find 1 thing I do not like about this camera, which is very rare. I recommend this to any and everyone who wants an easy to use snap shot camera. I love it!!
Great Camera!I am very happy with this purchase. Excellent price, excellent camera. Very easy to use. Compact, full sized display screen, picture perfect!
awesome purchasethis was a great investment. I got that package deal (camera, case,&duo stick for computer) at a better price than Sony or Best Buy offered. Camera has really great features (auto smile, set to look for adults or children, video, & slideshow to name a few). The only downside is that Sony has not made a Marine Kit to fit this camera yet for underwater use. Excellent quality on printed pictures.
why did you send me two camera'syou called and said my amazon charge had expired so I gave you my visa. i said i wanted it updated. the next day you called to ask if i wanted my charge updated for the camera i had asked about. ok. then i got two cameras. i had to pay 15.00 to return the second camera.
i was very upset over this.... |
Great little cameraAn excellent camera -- very easy for me to use without having to read directions -I don't like to read directions.
Great but came in a bigger boxAll goog, but the camera's and accesories came in a great box like PS3, too bigger.
GREAT DEAL!!!I've had the DSC-W55 before and decided to buy this model. It's really nice. Love the quality of pictures. Very easy- to- use camera, specially made for starters. And the memory stick duo adaptor... great idea!
The bad thing.... if you have big fingers, you are gonna have a little problem with the buttons of the camera. |
Excellent teensy cameraI may be the least ept photographer in the world. I have long sought a very small digital camera with automatic settings that even I could understand. Sadly I have a number of cameras that did not fit this requirement. This camera fits the bill perfectly. It has a view finder in addition to the focus frame, another thing that I wanted. I'm a lot more successful with a view finder than trying to center something in the focus frame. The picture quality is excellent and I have had no problem using it. Given my lack of eptness, this is an amazing thing. I highly recommend this little treasure.
Great camera! This is a great little camera. It's easy to use, it takes nice pictures and it's small enough to carry it in your pocket.
Sony Cybershot DSCW120I've had the camera for a few weeks and am having fun learning about the many features. The two most helpful to me are the Super Steady Shot and the large view screen. It is very compact and well-made. So far I am very happy with my purchase.
Delighted!I purchased this as a special gift for a dear friend who was more than delighted with its ease of use and great pictures this point and shoot had to offer.
Not worth the moneWhile this camera has an impressive collection of features (albeit few useful ones), the quality of the photo it takes turned out to be very poor. We didn't expect it to be as good as the Nikon D50, 6MP SLR we purchased two years ago, but even on full quality this "7.2MP" camera's pictures were worse than a five year old 2MP camera we have. Needless to say, we were very disappointed with this camera and returned it. We have since purchased a Panasonic FS3. It also offers a wide range of obscure features that we will never use, but it takes considerably better pictures in lower light situations than the Sony. It doesn't have the 4X optical zoom like the Sony, but we'll gladly give up a bit of zoom for added quality. The increased MP, 8.1 vs 7.2, makes up for a bit of the zoom. And considering the premium we had to pay for a Memory Stick vs a simple SD card, the overall cost was the same.
We have always been a Sony family for video recorders and cameras, TVs, portable stereos and game systems, but have never liked their digital cameras since the days of the Mavica and the early Cybershots. We were just hoping they had figured out what they were doing wrong, but when it comes to digital cameras, it is obvious Sony is counting on their brand name and styling to win over customers and hope they will be satisfied with what they get in the way of image quality. We can only suggest you go to a store where you can get your hands on demo units that are charged and take some test pictures. When you review them, use the zoom feature to closely examine the image quality. Everything looks sharp on the little display screen, but once you zoom in or put the image on a larger screen you will be able to compare the quality of the different cameras side by side. |
A Nice camera but not for everybodyThis is a nice camera{I got the Blue version that is prettier}
This camera takes very nice pictures but If you're looking for something kind of professional Then this one is not for you. This is a simple camera for someone who will upload pictures to Facebook, Windows Live Spaces or My Space and will print some pictures. This is not like the Sony Cybershot W300 that is 13.6 Megapixels, This one is a nice camera for simple use. I am still getting used to it because it's kind of complicated to handle but still I feel I will use this camera a long time... |
E:91:01Recently I bought this camera, and two days later I found this error E:91:01 (The flash did not work since the begining),Now none knows what it is, and I am not living in USA any more, so now I'm looking for a Technical service to solve my problem. I'm really dissapointed on this product and I'm still trying to contact the seller to find out what can I do.
The most incredible thing was that when I started to find out on the net about this problem and I could see that this problem has existed since before models. I'M TOO DISSAPOINTED ON THIS PRODUCT because this error |
Outstanding compact cameraI brought my new DSCCW120/B on a trip to Europe and it took hundreds of excellent photos. The ISO (no flash, low light) mode was very handy inside cathedrals and I found the landscape (far focus) mode easy to shoot through screens and still keep distant focus. My spouse (of unsteady hands) was grateful that the Steady Shot feature captured almost all of her photos in good focus. The fact that I could drop it in my front shirt pocket without feeling it was very liberating. Yes, it did fall on the pavement several times due to bending over, but no damage was inflicted.
don't buy sony camerasThe problem with Sony cameras, both photo and video, is that Sony uses a variety of Sony memory sticks. My Sony video camera memory stick does not fit in my Sony Vaio. Incompatibility is a big problem generally within the Sony family. My girlfriend's Vaio's charger does not work on my Vaio. I have made a commitment to myself to not buy anything anymore from Sony because I'm tired of having to carry an adapter for SD cards and having a memory stick gate which doesn't accept my video camera, and remembering to not pack my girlfriends charger when I go traveling, and so on.
Super sonySony stuff is great, I like that I can use my memory stick duo in my camera then in my psp and so on, This camera is high end and sleek, all of my friends want one now. I buy alot from Sony, i'm very pleased with all my purchases, a bravia xbr is next(I hope).
Sony Cybershot DSC-W120 7.2 MPGreat camera in small package. I am not a prfessional so simple operation is a big plus. Compared to old Nikon Coolpix, a breeze to operate and navigate.
Love my new Camera!I am completely pleased and excited to have purchased this camera, the Sonyt Cybershot 120. The transaction was great. It arrived right on schedule in excellent condition, as promised. I am really enjoying it and feel that I made a good choice, after a lot of research.
A little bit of a let down. This is a great looking camera and a nice size. I was replacing my aging panasonic camera and hoping that the pictures would be noticeably better, especially with double the mega pixels and dual antishake. But the pictures were very similar to my older camera and the antishake didn't seem to work at all. It may be that I didn't keep the camera long enough to figure out the best settings or that I got a defective one but I did return it and bought a Canon Elph instead. It's a SD850is and takes great pictures and was about the same price as the Sony. The canon has a flimsy plastic cover over the usb port that keeps popping open so I guess there is no perfect point and shoot but the pictures are very good and the digital macro lets you get as close as you possibly can.
SLOW TO SHIPI ORDERED THIS AND IT SAID IT WOULD ARRIVE ON A MONDAY AND IT WAS A GIFT AND IT DID NOT GET HERE TILL WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON

Worst Camera I have Ever HadSure, the name looks promising. Sony is a well respected company known for their great quality in electronic devices. I thought FOR SURE that with the reviews this camera had gotten and the brand name, it would be a fantastic camera. Shortly, day after day, I found out I was completely wrong.
1. The zoom, which was advertised as 4x Optical Zoom, is terrible. My old digital camera (Kodak, probably only cost me a little over $100) had a zoom that went 100x further than this camera's. The zoom gets blurry much too quickly, even though it does not allow you to even zoom that far in the first place! 2. The timer button (you press it and the camera takes the picture by itself) has two options; 10 seconds and not at all. And even at that, you can not pick which flash setting you want. 3. The camera does take good photos, however it takes AWHILE to take them. Sometimes the red light will go off for quite awhile before flashing (and at that, it flashes twice; most people move after it flashes the first time and then the picture does not turn out.) 4. The battery does not last long. I had many issues with it when I first bought mine. I would charge it all day long, and then the camera would only run for 5 minutes and then shut off (not exaggerating!) Eventually this problem stopped, but oh so many other problems came along. 5. I can deal with the little issues this camera has even though I secretly wish I could take this camera and drop it out my 2nd story window onto the concrete. BUT TODAY, I had the final straw. I went to turn on the camera, and the lens started to make a "click click" sound and pulse up and down. This was strange, so I looked at the screen which read "TURN POWER OFF AND ON" ... i followed the instructions for about 10 minutes before I took out the battery, charged it, and placed it back in where the lens still pulsed and the screen STILL read turn power off and on. At this point, I am totally done with this camera. I am looking for every possibly way I can to either A) sell it or B) refund it. This camera is truly not worth the money, invest in a Canon or Kodak. PLEASE. |
Love my product. Very fast shippingI love this camera. It is so easy to use and it is amazing. It takes high quality photos and I love it much more than my Canon PowerShot A400.
Awesome point and shoot cameraI bought this camera for my 12 year old duaghter, she used it several times and the pictures are just amazing, she doesn't have to do any manual adjustments, just point and shoot, and most of the pictures are ready for print. The only issue I see is a common issue to all non-DSLR cameras and it's the lighting conditions - when taking pictures at night the pictures are often blurry with no option to fix them.
I Love it!!!!!I absolutely love my sony cybershot camera. I took so many beautiful pictures on my cruise.
Great pictures, easy to use!I have to worst luck with cameras, but I've hit the jackpot here! I got this in pink from Best Buy a few days ago, and I'm absolutely in love! The size is perfect! This thing is sleek and small, but mighty powerful!! I was testing it, taking self pictures of my boyfriend and I, and when I took one picture, I moved the camera too quick to look at the picture, and expected to see a big blurr, but he and I were completely in focus! There was a little blurr on the wall behind us, but we were looking great!
My favorite feature, is that whatever you do with this camera, like when you change the setting, it tells you what that setting should be used for, I likt that a lot!!! It helps you take the best pictures! I had wanted a DSC-780, but Best Buy didn't have it, so the guy reccomended this one, and knocked $10 off the price for not having what I origionally wanted, and I'm VERY happy! :) |
Dead/stuck pixel on LCD DisplaySo, the DSC-W120 came in the mail today. I charged the battery via the charger, turned it on and viola: a dead or stuck pixel appeared on the top left of the LCD display. This is quite discouraging. I called Sony and they gave me the run-around even though their box states, "PLEASE DO NOT RETURN THE PRODUCT TO THE STORE" urging costumers to call Sony with defective products. I took a few pictures and the dead/stuck pixel does not replicate itself in the photo. So, the question is should I keep it? Or return it and go through the hassle of a replacement or refund? I would like some insight here, since this is my first digital camera in (gasp) seven years!
Love it!I bought this camera for my 8 year old daughter's birthday. It is easy enough for her to use and takes great pictures. I find myself using HER camera instead of my own due to it's better quality pictures. I recommend this to anyone looking for a small, lightweight, convenient and quality camera.
Great camera, good priceThis camera has many functions, so many that I'm still not sure how to take advantage of them after a few months with it. All I can say is that a friend of mine who is an amateur photographer got a hold of it and took astonishing pictures with it.
low price. valuable it is replaced Sony W80. Image quality is better than W80. In Particular supersensitive picture(i.e. ISO800) is better than W80. And low price is good.
Sony BaloneyI had this camera for only 4 months when the screen locked up and wouldn't function. I spent 8 bucks to send it to the Sony repair center where they said that the malfunction was my fault and that the repair would cost me $90 bucks. So the manufacturer's warranty is baloney, or
Sony Baloney. Effectively, there is NO manufacturer's warranty, just in case you want to buy this camera. Whatever goes wrong with your Sony camera is your fault, and they will NOT cover it. Needless to say, I will never buy another Sony camera. BUYER BEWARE!!!! Any camera malfunction is your fault and will not be covered by the so-called manufacturer's warranty. The manufacturer's warranty is strictly HYPE. |
I like it, but don't love itThis is a good camera but not entirely what I expected.
First the good parts. Pictures are very clear and high quality. Controls are easy to figure out. Not so Good. Video grainy Cannot zoom with video Had to buy specific memory card propreitary plug for the camera not the standardized one. Overall, good camera but has restrictions that i dont like |
Sony cameraA birthday gift for a grandaughter- She loves it !!!Easy to use and a pretty pink color.
CameraVERY easy to operate. Catches pictures quickly with no delay. Great for action shots! With three kids all of my shots are action shots.
Fantastic camera! Small, powerful, long battery life, great photosThis is a fantastic camera. It takes great pictures, the battery lasts a long time, it takes great video, and it's tiny.
Sony Cybershot CameraA camera with alot of power to deliver great pictures and mini movies. Easy to use. Comes with attachment that can display images in a TV screen. Lightweight, fits into pocket.
Amazon made it easy to obtain product. Quick delivery time. I am completely satisfied with my purchase. |
Very fast and efficient, almost error proof.I just bought this camera about 9 hours ago and am very happy with it. I also own a sony camera with a carl zeiss lens that is about 4 years old. that camera has held up very well and has given me some amazing pictures. when i saw this it reminded me of my older sony and has a lot of the same features and qualities.
when you take a picture with most older cameras you have to hold the camera very still and breathe gently or your result will be blurry. with this camera you can probably be jogging and still take a clear picture. there isn't any fuzz or discoloration between pixels (like some other 7 megapixel cameras have) and its light settings are awesome. i would recommend this camera to anyone who is looking for a very high quality pictures without having to have any experience in photography. and if you do have quite a bit of experience with photography (like i do) then it makes the job a lot easier for macro, low light, and bright conditions. |
Great compact camera w/lots of featuresI'm impressed by the small size, reasonable price, and big features of this camera. I like the way it adjusts for movement (either subject's or user's). Very user-friendly-- I like the on-screen info when using features. Love the generous size of the screen. Battery life is decent. As a beginner, I can say this camera makes my pics look professional. It's a keeper.
Great camera for the money, few lil' things would do differently...We have purchased this camera about a month ago and as of now we like it. The compact size makes it easy to carry around, it has a large screen and the 4x zoom comes handy. And the most important thing - it takes great pictures for a point and shoot cam.
The only thing that I don't care too much is the zoom button. I would have kept it together with the shoot button instead of moving it to the back with the rest of the controls. But that's just me, I guess. And another wish of mine for the Sony people - put a designated video button - it's so handy if you are shooting a lot of videos. Especially since the video this camera takes is as good as any regular video cam that I have messed with... And let us zoom in and out while we shoot videos - it's probably not very hard to do... |
i love my new cybershoti recieved it fast...it is the exact product described....i'm in love with my new cybershot...i had one before but this one is amazing
Good CameraLa camara es muy buena tiene varias y funcionales caraceristicas, solo pienso q le falta un poco mas de zoom para hacerla toda una joya de la elctronica.
sonyI saved about $80.00 And didn't even have to leave my leaving room.
Came is only a few day's |
Excellent ValueAs usual very good value and great transaction. Used to capture my sons Championship season. Pictures are great and product is easy for novices to use.
Best Camera thus Far!If you are looking for a camera that's good for its price, then look no further. Has many functions and performs just well. It's not the best camera out there, but it does what I expected it to. If you need a camera for everyday use, I would suggest this one. It takes nice pictures and is not hard to handle. Also, I've put mine in my pockets with keys, and there are no scratches. Maybe I got lucky. Well, whatever the case, I think this camera is superb in comparison to today's cameras. [....]

affordablei bought it for only $138.51, it's a good price deal. the digicam is nice. it has everything that i wanted. have one!
Sony Cybershot DSCW120/L 7.2MP Digital Camera (blue)I bought this camera for my daughter. She likes the color. The camera is small and easy to carry around, and it takes good pictures (not great pictures like a DSLR). Good buy for the money.
Sony Cybershot is too goodThis product bought from Amazon is the perfect thing if you are not such an expert photographer but still wish to click some great pics. Very easy to use and portable to carry almost anywhere.
This is also the first product that I bought from Amazon and the best price I could get. |
Sony CybershotGreat camera for the price. For the average photographer this all you will ever need.
Helena's Sony Cybershot Camera - My lifesaver!I simply love this new camera.
It has so many new features that I love. Like the smile shutter. It can also take great pictures at night which my previous camera wasn't so good at. I highly recommend this camera. Go and buy it if you want a great quality camera but don't feel that you want to spend a fortune on it! |
Thanks for nothing.I ordered this camera package as a Christmas gift for my wife. Our old camera had fallen and broke, so we'd been borrowing one from my mother-in-law. But this deal looked like a great way to replace it, and score points for a Christmas gift.
But Electronics Express sent the camera in the original package, and just slapped some packaging tape and a shipping label on it. The surprise is ruined. I'm surprised that the camera even arrived as every postal worker that touched the box would know what was inside. What a tremendously dumb decision. The camera (if it works like the one my m-i-l has) is great. |
Sony cybershot DSCW120 is a must have...I have had the Sony Cybersot for about two months now. I owned a previous model of the Sony Cybershot that I absolutely loved. unfortunately It fell out of my purse and crash to the ground. It was never the same. But din't get me wrong that was the last of thusands of crashes... That was just the final one.
So I automatically set out to get another. First off I loved that I had a choice of colors (Pink, Black, Silver & Blue). Of coarse I chose the pink... Thing that I hated most was the music. It took me a while to figure out how to cut that annoying feature off. InstantlyI was not a fan of the menu... I had to actually break down and use the manual... For me that is virtually unheard of!!! & Believe me I am embarassed to actually admitt this fact... lol Ok back to the Sony Cybershot. I purchased this camera for the Smile Shutter technology. It captures smiles the moment they happen - without having to press shutter. The mode can be set to capture when your subject laughs, smiles or even grins. It also has Face Detection function is able to differentiate children and adults to set priority. With this camera I actually take better pictures in poor lighing. It takes fabulous pictures in normal lighting. There has been several occasions that I have used my camera and my pictures have been requested the most... I am also very pleased that the screen in the rear of the camera is huge and clear as a bell. In poor lighting you can't see very well but that is expected. Once you take enough pictures you will be able to capture whatever your heart desires. 7.2-megapixel gives you more detail and definition whenever you need big prints or for tight cropping. The advanced Sony Super HAD (Hole Accumulated Diode) CCD design allows more light to pass to each pixel, increasing sensitivity and reducing noise. So Bad lighting situations are ideal for this camera. Carl Zeiss 4x Optical Zoom Lens is great for sharp, detailed long shots and quickly frame images for better composition -- great for family sports, outdoor fun, and travel photos. I love this camera and for about $179 this is a perfect gift...for more reviews NewLifeFromWisdom . com |
Sony Cybershot 7.2mpis an excellent camera with a good design and color, will recommend to the entire world, by its very economical price |
Great camera, easy to useI bought this camera for my husband and it has become a family favorite. Easy to use and it produces beautiful images.
Amazing camera! The Soney Cybershop DSCW120/B 7.2MP is a truly amazing camera. It is a small profile (smaller than my wallet), easy to use and has more features than I have had time to explore. One of the coolest features is the Smile Recognition program. Point at your (human)subject and push the shutter button down, hold it for a second and when your subject smiles, it takes the picture!
The display is crystal clear and very large for the size of the camera. If you just want a point and shoot, select the Easy mode and the camera does everying for you except pushing the button. The steady shot feature works great and you will get a sharp clear picture even if you move when you hit the shutter. There is a barely noticable delay from the time you push the shuter button until the time the picture is taken unlike the older digital cameras that kept you waiting with a one or two second delay. Best advice, buy a large memory card when you buy the camera, the bigger the better, especially if you want to shoot video which is fairly good quality but not nearly as good as a dedicated video camera. Also, read the manual! If there is a drawback to this camera it is the many features it has. It's easy to get lost in them if you don't read the manual. Naturally being a man I didn't read it and got lost in the selection of features. Of course, I use it on Easy mode anyway so go figure... |
Awesome Camera!Esta camara es la mejor que e tenido! es lo mejor de lo mejor!
It's The best camera I owned. |
MY NEWEST AND FINAL CAMERA!!!THIS CAMERA IS PERFECT! IT CAN MAKE ANY LIGHTING SCENE,FOCUS ON ANY SUBJECT OR FORM AND PLAY MUSIC DURING THE SLIDESHOW. PLUS YOU CAN ADD YOUR OWN SLIDESHOW MUSIC-WHAT CAMERA CAN DO THAT? THE PICTURES COME OUT CRYSTAL CLEAR AND BRIGHT OR EVEN BRIGHTER. I HAD A KODAK EASYSHARE C613 6.2 MEGAPIXEL CAMERA AND IT WAS GOOD BUT I WANTED SOMETHING MORE ADVANCE. PLUS I WOULD TAKE A PICTURE AND IT WOULD TAKE THE PICTURE REALLY SLOW. SLOW ENOUGH TIL I SAID IT HAS TO BE A BETTER CAMERA THAT TAKES FASTER PICUTRES. SO I LOOKED AT ALL THE CAMERAS AND FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS CAMERA. I HAVE THE ROSE PINK COLOR AND IT IS CUTE. I WAS GOING TO GET THE BLACK BUT I LOVE PINK TOO. IT WORKS PERFECT. THANKS SONY!!!!
I've searched for 8 months the search is finally over!!I have been looking for "The" perfect camera for about 8 months if not longer! I've wanted one for about 3 years and yesterday I finally made the purchase. I hate when cameras have a pause in between the click and the take. The pauses are normally so long that the moment you tried to capture is long gone. With the sony cybershot you click and you capture! That plus the beautifully clear image are what makes this camera great. I am a big breast cancer awareness supporter and the cybershot comes in pink! So for me it was perfect. I am also in the military and with the sony gps you can remember exactly where you take the picture. That is very neat being that I am going over seas soon. If you like slide shows which I do with music it's a great camera to have. It does just about anything you could want plus it has the smile feature, twilight, etc...ect..It's a great camera and I got it on sale!! 90$
Ok camera, but not good under low light conditionsI did not buy the camera on Amazon, but have been a Sony Cybershot user for a long time. My wife really like the design of the camera and how portable it is. It takes nice picture in most conditions. However, we found it highly frustrating under low-light conditions. The pictures either come out blurred because of long exposure time, or strangely lit.
Sony Cybershot DSC120A very good buy. This camera is very versatile and for the amateur it has a lot of great features. I was tired of always taking blurry pictures and with the steady shot feature I have taken some great shots that are super clear. Definitely a great buy!!
Sweet little cameraI have had a Sony Cybershot for years and years and was waiting for that old one to break so I could get a new one but it never did break so I retired it and got this camera. I love this thing! So intuitive and easy to use! My partner has a more expensive camera for fancier shots but I just wanted something quick and easy to use (I am a very casual photographer). This is perfect for me. It takes wonderful pictures, memory sticks and extra batteries are reasonably priced, and it is sturdy. Also connecting it to my PC is so simple. And it is pretty!
I highly recommend this camera to folks who just want to snap some pictures of friends, family, pets, or scenery without too much trouble. |
Good point an shoot from Sony!!!!I love the point an shoot cameras made by Sony mainly because of the Professional Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, that makes a huge difference when you compare this camera to a similar price camera from another manufacturer, in my opinion the picture quality of this camera is far superior then HP, Canon, Olympus, or Nikon.
Sony include the new ultra fast BIONZ processor in all their new cameras, this is a big deal when you take high resolution pictures and want your camera to be ready to shoot the next in no time at all. There's a lot of things I love about this camera like: the animated graphical menus, cool metal exterior finish, big display, slide show with or without music, extended battery life, high sensitivity of ISO 3200, Super SteadyShot, and Convenient Photo Modes among others. The Smile Shutter Mode does work but its a bit tricky when you try to use it on several subjects since you have to detect everyone faces for the Smile Shutter to work properly and this is not as easy as it sounds. Overall I recommend this camera to everyone who likes a small size point an shoot, easy to use, that can take great quality pictures without spending too much money. |
Trust The Raving Reviews -- I'm Glad I Did!I've been hankering for one of these sleek, compact, and handsome Cybershots for a long time. The main reason I had held out on getting it was the fact that it uses Sony's proprietary Memory Stick instead of the ubiquitous SD card, which would allow for the easy transfer of data to most devices. I finally caved when the price of both the Cybershot and Memory Stick dropped.
The 7.2 megapixel resolution is plenty for making sharp 8 x 10 prints. I am just utterly amazed at how much detail this camera captures. The pictures are amazingly sharp and the colors look true. The huge 2.5-inch TFT LCD display is a definite plus and make accurately framing your pictures a cinch. The screen is bright, so the on-screen menu and images can be easily seen even in bright sunlight. The camera also does audio/videos at a high 30 fps frame rate. The resolution on videos is a measly 640 x 480, so when it is played in full screen on your monitor, it will look slightly grainy. Still, the quality is decent enough and it's a nice little extra to have since this is not a dedicated camcorder. The placement of the buttons on the camera and the on-screen menu navigation is very user-friendly and intuitive. I can't give this Sony Cybershot enough praise. There's yet so many more features and functions to explore. This "toy" has given me hours of fun snapping random pictures and marveling at the captured images. The only regret I have is having waited so long before I took the plunge. If you're sitting on the fence, you should go ahead and get this! Trust all the raving reviews about the Sony Sony Cybershot (DSCW120)-- I'm glad I did! |
A great point and shootAs far as I am aware this is the best point and shoot on the market for this money. I have tried a lot of other point and shoot cameras - Canon, Nikon and Olympus - and the Cybershot is taking far better photos.

He loved it..I bought this camera for my boyfriend and he loves it. I have a pink one too. I really love it as well. Really good camera for a great price!
Nice Display Functions - Lightweight Point and ShootI originally bought this camera in hopes it would be simple enough for my anti-tech Mom to use. The best feature was as you sort thru the picture modes with the dial on the right - on the LCD display you see the features (movie, night mode etc) "pop up" on the screen as you scroll. Hard to describe but very nice feature. Only camera I've seen that one. Its still a standard point and shoot with a few too many (of the standard) bells and whistles for Mom. However, the girlfriend loves it. Its nice looking, light, we havent dropped it yet but it seems like it can take some knocks. I think the picture quality / standard color output is a bit COLDER than my Digi Cam the Casio Elixim. However, I'm not a camera freak so I cant give the technical reasons why - just my consumer observations.
Best of CamerasThis is my second cybershot i've owned.. the DSC-W series i've found it the best.. i've had friends get the other one that doesn't have the W in it and its just not as nice and only a few bucks cheaper.. I just love the cybershot cameras!
The best digital camera I have owned.Takes better photos than the last 2 Fujis I had, the S5200 and the Z10fd. The flash works very well indoors and the ISO setting actually lives up to the hype. I bought the S5200 a few years back because it was supposed the have a great natural light setting. Nope. This W120 is small, easy to use and takes great pictures. I highly recommend!
User FriendlyThis was a gift for my mom. She has never owned a digital camera before and is not very technical. I wanted to get a good point and shoot type camera that is good quality. I am happy with the choice I made. The camera is very slim, lightweight and I love the smile feature. It really works! My likes the camera also and has no problems using it. The buttons and controls are a bit small though.
good stuffI like the quality of the pictures taken in a low-light and additional features of the camera like "smile shutter", high ISO sensitivity, etc. Good camera.
Sony dscw 120 digital cameraNeeded a good camera that would fit into a shirt pocket yet still take great pictures. This one fits the requirement perfectly. The only downside is that those of us with large or clumsy hands may have a little trouble using it (I have to use the lanyard to keep from dropping it) but it's the perfect size for my wife.
Sony Cybershot DSC W120Good camera for the price. I feel the only drawback, it doesn't take AA
rechargable batteries. It is a separate battery pack. Other than that, a good deal. |
Sony Cyber Shot W120I just upgraded from the Sony Cyber Shot S60. The pros of this camera are the price, compact size, color selection, and smile shutter feature. The Cons of this camera are there is no trimming or cropping feature, which I use all the time, it uses a Sony battery instead of AA batteries, and it uses a Memory Stick Pro Duo. Honestly, I like my old one better, but I will get used to this one. This is a good point and shoot camera for a teenager or a beginner, I'm just missing my old Sony!
So tiny, cute, and PINK!This is exactly what I wanted. I wanted something I could put in my hand bag and have when I wanted it. This is a super quality camera. Nice big viewing screen, and very easy to operate. Do remember to get a memory card seperately. I didn't and now I have to wait again for that. I love the size and ease of this, and especially, because it's PINK! What more could a girl ask for?

Sony Cyber-Shot DSCW120MDG/P 7.2 MP Digital Camera ReviewShipment received in a timely manner. All items listed in the seller's description were received "new" as described.
The photo submitted by the seller for this item contains a Memory Stick Pro Duo Card; however, there was not one included in the package I received. This was deceiving, and misleading. There was however, a USB Memory stick included in the package as pictured with the seller's description. The seller's description states a MSRW-MD1/P Memory Stick Duo Adaptor is included; however, there was not one included in the package I received. This is also deceiving. Otherwise - the camera and all other accesories were received new and in great working condition. |
Great, Tiny, Powerful and InexpensivePlenty has already been said of this camera - and it's a great purchase.
What I'd add is that it is very small - truly a pocket camera. It takes much better pictures than a digital camera only two years older. It's quick on startup and very quick on trigger-to-shot speed. The entire camera is made much more intuitive by the visual explanations that appear on the display with each selection. This helps translate those little-used symbols into something you can actually learn and put to good use (like the low light setting, or smile mode that may otherwise get overlooked for the life of the camera). The pictures taken with a flash are much improved over previous Sonys. Whether its software, sensor or flash, I don't know. But flash pictures are far more natural looking than previous models. They're not over or under-saturated. In fact, this model is so intuitive and inexpensive, I sent one to a less-technical family member to replace an otherwise great Sony digital camera I recommended for them just 2 years earlier. I even got one for my wife and now use it more than my own because of its features, slimness and quick shutter speed. Minor niggles: the otherwise simple and slim camera-to-USB cable has been replaced by a 'universal' cable that also includes video and audio plugs which makes the cable 3x thicker and more cumbersome than earlier models. Also - the rotating setting dial isn't indented far enough into the camera, so its easy to rub with your right hand when taking pictures which can bump the camera into another mode. Be sure to get a good memory stick like the Sony 2 GB Memory Stick PRO Duo (MSX-M2GS) (Retail Package) or the larger Sony 4 GB Memory Stick PRO DUO ( MSX-M4GS ) (Retail Package) both of which come with an adapter for card readers like the IOGear GFR281 56-in-1 Card Reader/Writer which is faster for transferring photos than a direct connection to the camera. I also opted for the Sony NP-FG1 InfoLITHIUM Type G Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery Pack for Sony W & H Series Digital Cameras battery that provides a 'time left' display in the camera - something the standard battery that comes with the camera does not. And I decided against any soft case without room for memory cards and an extra battery and picked up the Kroo Camera case for Sony Cybershot DSC Model + Universal LCD Screen Protector Kit + CLOTH instead - which came with a bonus screen protector. |
excelente camaraEs una excelente camara. Tiene un tiempo de respuesta muy bueno despues de haber tomado fotos usando el flash.
Great. This is my second cyber shot and it's great. It is very easy to use and it takes great pictures.
Sony Camera ReviewThis camera seems neat especially for the price, but I cannot believe that it does not have auto redeye reduction........
I LOVE this camera!!Thankfully, we got the camera just before Christmas! We have so many great pics! It is very easy to use, each setting is described on the screen so you don't have to rely on your memory for what each icon means. It also has a slideshow feature that plays a few different songs or download your own. We love it and are glad to have found it for 40 dollars less on Amazon than in stores, including the sony site.
So far so great! Thus far the CyberShot has been a great purchase. We bought it for our daughter for Christmas, and we love it's ease of use right out of the box, the various functions it offers, and the high quality photos and videos. We were disappointed with the lack of a memory storage card (had to buy one separately after the fact), and you also have to beware of shutter lag with point and shoot digital cameras, such as this CyberShot. Other than that, as mentioned, a great purchase.

Sony Cybershot-Great camera / Bad BundleThe Sony Cybershot W-120 takes great pictures and is a wonderful first camera for our 17year old. The case that we received is not what is shown in the picture...it is black, trimmed in pink, with no way to attach it to her purse or belt loop. This does NOT come with the mini SD card (that is shown in the picture next to the memory stick) that you will need in order to take more than 5 pictures. So order one in addition to this so that you can use your camera right away. The camera charges quickly and is very easy to use right out of the box (except for the memory card ;p ). I would order this camera again, but NOT this bundle. Choose a case separately so that you know exactly what you'll be receiving.Sony Cyber-shot DSCW120MDG/P 7.2 MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom with Super Steady Shot (Pink) with LCS-TWE/PI Carrying Case and MSRW-MD1/P Memory Stick Duo Adaptor
