This camera provides an affordable entry into digital photography. Nothing to fancy. Very easy to use, takes high enough qaulity pictures to get great 5x7 prints. Battery life is decent enough to use regular batteries. But it would be worth it to get some extra rechargables. And it takes Mem Stick Pro media, up to 2GB!

My only gripe is the lack of an optical zoom.

If you are just an amateur photographer that is either finally switching from analog to digital or just want a decent camera to take on family vacations or school projects, this is a great camera. It is small, lightweight, and does just about anything you could possibly need it to do. It won't take pictures of hummingbirds feeding across a forest bed, but it will take a decent photo of the grand canyon. The quality of the optical zoom is really good, but the picture is sacrificed slightly as you try to artifically enhance it with the digital zoom. The battery life is good enough to take on extended trips from your hotel or on a hike without having to carry around a charger or spare batteries. If you plan on taking lots of high quality large photos, you will need to get a larger memory stick (64 MB will work, 128 MB even better), but the memory stick it comes with will be enough to photograph your child's birthday party as long as you download the photos onto your computer afterwards. At 3.2 MegaPixels, this camera will pick up individual hairs on a persons head, but you won't be able to clearly define the flea sitting in the hair. There are 5 MegaPixel cameras out there, but at the consumer level there is really no point in spending the money on one (5 MP won't come in handy unless you are student taking pictures through a microscope or a telescope) All around, while Sony's camera lenses may not compare with Canon or Olympus, Sony makes up for it with their superior knowledge of how to make a great consumer digital device and turn it into a decent digital camera. It is a great value for the price.

I upgraded from a run-of-the-mill 35mm camera. I love this camera!! It's easy to use, lightweight, and a very nice design. My purchase (from dell.com) came with the charger, batteries a memory stick and the computer/TV hookup cable. This camera is very, very easy to use. Recommended for first time digital camera users.

I bought this camera the other day at officemax for 50.00 off. I expected it to be a basic point and shoot...But I was wrong. It took way better pictures then my HP Photosmart 435 also a 3.2MP and it took pictures like my Concord Eye-Q 4060 a 4MP camera. I love the on camera editing and the ease of use. It has some advanced photography settings that are defiently useful. Also I liked how it included a memory card and recharagable Stanima Batteries (takes 2 hours or less to charge unlike most that take 6) I have one thing against the zoom. It has to be at 2.8MP or under to use zoom. But that is fine..I don't use zoom vey often. I love this camera...And I am sure you will too.

I purchased this camera in July of 2003 and it has never really disappointed me. I've had it for almost a year, and it still takes great pictures. I bought a 128mb memory stick. My only issues with it:

1. Camera must use a Sony memorystick, so if you have all other Sony stuff, this is fine, but if you don't, you might have problems.

2. The digital zoom sucks. I'm not lying, all digital zooms probably suck, but as I got more experience with photography, I decided I'd like an optical zoom much, much more. If you use the digital zoom, the picture becomes rather grainy.

3. The movies in video mode are always really dark. No way out of this.

I love the camera because I've had the same rechargeable batteries + they give you them and the charger. In general the pictures are pretty good and I've been happy with it.

This is what I had before. It's a Sony DSCP32 Cybershot 3.2MP, and so from that to this was actually a good jump.. or not, right?

Let's get a few things out of the way. I'm competitive when it comes to my electronics and anything that represents sophistication... in all areas of my life.. I have this need to be the best, which is why I went with this camera.

LOOK AT IT! It's GORgeous. I'm surprised Fuji doesn't have Paris Hilton modeling with it. Its unique design and the beauty of it is certainly undeniable... oh, and in case you're measuring and trying to compare and figure out how small/big this camera is.. let me clear that up; yes, it's tiny. It really is tiny. One thing I like about it, though, is that even though it's very compact, it's not overly light. (I never worry about dropping it..... I do get scared when other people touch it though...)

What's there NOT to like about it? I can't decide whether to keep this camera because of the fact that it's so fantastic looking and I really don't think I'll find anything better as far as design... or sell it and buy something maybe a bit bigger and for sure less "cool"-looking in sacrifice for CLEAR pictures, EVERY time.

What this camera will often leave you with if your taking pictures of anything with the slightest bit of motion is about 10 pictures that are far too blurry, 3 pictures that are blurry but you really want to kill yourself because they were/would've been *perfect* (and at about this moment you're cursing Fuji with all you've got), and 2 pictures that are clear but YOU screwed up the picture by getting half your ear cut off or accidentally snapping the picture when Laura had her finger up her nose. Damnit. That sucks.

It all depends on what you're taking pictures of. Never take this to any kind of event that's very important to you and monumental and you want pictures for... ever... because that's when it'll fail you; trust me. I took it to a graduation and first I thought it was only the lighting, so I turned the flash off, then it was making things blurry so I turned it back on and changed settings.. and it was still making things blurry. I didn't get one clear shot of that whole event. Let's just say it pissed me off and that's when I'd realized I'd had about enough.

I take pictures of me and my girl friends all the time for profile shots and things... we're just playing around.. we have all the time in the world to get the right pose. I never have problems then because we're HOLDING VERY STILL... but taking this camera to events, you know, where people MOVE; "just say 'no'".

I did take this to a winter formal and got very clear, crisp pictures that I blew-up into 5"x7" and they turned out amazingly well so I was pleased with my F450 then, however I can't stress this enough; digital cameras anymore are all about convenience. It's not convenient to have to ask a stranger if they can "start over" and give the same reaction they did the FIRST time your friend yelled "LOOK AT MY POOPY UNDIES!" at them... no, because... that just doesn't work.

[Oh, and the point of the link to my last digital camera was... price doesn't always represent quality, okay? Oh, and neither does mega-pixels, like someone else noted. Honestly, I preferred that Sony over this one. "If I could tuuuuurn back tiiiime...". ((Aw, but don't think I'm saying Sony's are all somethin' great!!!!!! Don't buy T-ANYTHING! They're all really bad. Read reviews. **Some** reviews are your friend, so read many.]

I've been using this camera for about 2 years now. You'll fine that the zoom is incredible small. However, don't let that fool you, this little camera is great for at night shooting.

The options on the camera is lovely for its little cybershot-self. However, if you want to do some professional shooting, this is NOT the camera.

The photos do come out lovely, but the lighting often comes out all wrong! To be a user of this camera, you might have to be friendly with Photoshop or some kind photo editing program.

The other con's of this camera is that the battery often runs out. It takes a lot of power to run the camera and the LCD (There's an option to turn the LCD screen off). The memory slot gets dusty very easy, and when that happens, it often leads to complication...like the one's I'm having now. The camera often can not read the memory stick!

However, despite all its con's: this is a lovely camera for just snapshots! Nothing professional on it.

This is a great camera for the size. I originally purchased this camera about two years ago for Stormfront Productions (...). We have used it on several photo shoots and the quality has really livened up some of our web sites. Why purchase stock photography when you can go shoot exactly what you need with this camera? I would recommend it to small businesses looking to provide photos for web sites.

This is actually quite resonable product and very easy to use. It's not groundbreaking or anything, but it offers some quality pictures and is adjustable in various ways. The pricing is resonable and the you pretty much get what you buy.

I sold this and bought a Fuji 450 thinking that I was upgrading-- what a joke.

This camera's REALLY great for MOTION shots!! very fast shutterspeed. Awesome, awesome camera that I totally recommend!
