Antibes 2007: Seacam’s new gadgets

Antibes: Seacam Announcments

External monitor & remote control (glasses)

One of the most exciting new gadget on the festival was the external monitor from seacam for digital SLR cameras. It gives you the flexibility to put the housing with the camera somewhere underwater and control it remotely with visual inspection. But if this wasn't enough Seacam offers remote glasses with two small monitors, which can be connected to the monitor and gives a vivid live preview of the viewfinder.

New digital strobe

The first impression of the new D125 strobe is its small size. But there is more. The new strobe now features a removable accu pack, which gives power fro about 200 shots under full power and is sealed with double o-rings. Additionally it gives accurate information about the charging status depending on even the surrounding temperature.

Underwater tripod

A new underwater tripod was presented also. It even allows the mount of extra weights for different boyancy situations. The tripod is a set of a classic tripod and a one food tripod with a sharp end, which can be into the sand.

A little, but useful improvement is that all ballheads on the housing and on the accessoires have a small hole in the middle, which can be used to unscrew the ballheads without special utitilies just with an L-key.
