CDF’2008: Diving the housereef of Curaçao Habitat

Habitat Curaçao

The Habitat Curaçao is situated on the southern part of the island and the resort is build isolated into a little bay. Even though it is far away from the main hotel area, it suprises with its high standard. A nice Pool area, good design and a wonderful dive base with a very interesting housereef.

Hidden beauty
We came to the Habitat Resort for the closing party of the Dive Festival – and having heard a lot of the housereef, we came a little earlier to check it out. Andi went fisheye and Serge went Macro: so we could give a better over all judgement after just one dive. The funny thing was, that both of us were convinced of having made the right lens decision. So you can do both – Macro and Wide. And: The reef is excellent for a late afternoon dive, because the sun angle offers good opportunities for sunballs or sunbursts. What we also realized (maybe just our impression) – the fished come quite close here.

We also appreciated a lot, that the divecenter is extended over the water with a little peer and offers a very comfortable entry for housereef divers. And: there is also a boat and Nitrox. The organization and condition is very good, but still there is a very nice and relaxed atmosphere.

Andi/Serge

Nice job on the shots. Looking forward to my next trip there later this year.

You should come back and we can hang out, it is spawning season in October smile
