Dyron’s Fisheye Lenses for Compact Digital Housings

Dyron Fisheye Lenses, specially designed for compact digital camera housings, allow for an angle of view of 180°, while creating an effect of a perfectly rounded image. Since the fisheye's dome is perfectly hemispherical, the focal distance is exactly the same over the entire dome surface, which enables the photographer to take images that are free of any aberrations or blurred corners. Dyron now offers a wide selection of Fisheye Lenses designed to be compatible with different compact digital housings, as the Patima and Ikelite compact digital housings.

------------------------------ Official Press Release ------------------------------
As soon as a camera is submerged in water, about 30% of the field of view is immediately lost. This effect can be well demonstrated if you put on a diving mask on land and then submerge your face in the water. You will notice right away that your angle of view has significantly shrinked. Furthermore, if you submerge only half of your diving mask in water, you will easily notice that your vision is much wider on the surface rather than underwater.

When attempting to take wide angle photographs, it is efficient to eliminate the narrowing effect mentioned above. This can be done by installing an hemispherical dome (instead of a flat port) on the housing's lens port. Dyron's Fisheye Lenses are called "Dry Fisheyes", as the absence of water between the camera's lens and the accessory lens enables the photographer to take high quality wide angle (180°) images. In addition, the Dyron Fisheye Lens produces an effect of perfectly rounded images.

Dyron Fisheye Lenses allow to zoom to infinity and to switch between different modes: Round Image, 160° Ultra Wide Angle, 100° Wide Angle or Proxy. As the minimum focus distance is 0, your subject can be practically touching the lens when you photograph it.

Unlike standard fisheye lenses, the UFL-M150 ZM80 lets you fill the frame with very small subjects while still getting a fisheye view of the surroundings. The lens barrel is threaded to adjust the lens position to accommodate different cameras. Since the UFL-M150 is an afocal conversion lens, your camera's autofocus remains fully functional and the S-TTL functionality of Inon strobes is totally compatible.

There is just something about the Canon G12 - it consistently produces the absolute best underwater photos I've seen in a compact camera, just a small notch better than the S95. The G12 is Canon's highest end compact, and everything about it just works better. This is something that doesn't come out in the specs, but it certainly does in the reviews, and more importantly the images.
