CDF’2008: Rancho El Sobrino at Westpunt, Curacao

Today we're moving from Westpunt to the eastern side of Curacao. But we won't leave without thanking our hosts. After having spend 4 days in "Rancho El Sobrino" we now know how delicious Carribean food can be. Beside 16 Apartments, a dive center, rental car service and a swimming pool the cosy place offers a real festival for your taste buds. If you want to discover the local food of Curacao you HAVE TO eat at Rancho El Sobrino.

Shark accident in the Bahamas

Two days ago, the 24th of February, the 50 year old diver Markus Groh was bitten in the leg by a shark in while scuba diving Bahamian waters. He was on a shark diving expedition aboard the M/V Shear Water. After an emergency call from the crew he was flown via Coast Guard helicopter to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami for treatment, where he unfortunately passed away. That kind of an accident is extremely unfortunate and we'd like to express our condolences to the family of Markus Groh.

Boot Show 2008 - An Exhibition Guide

Between the 19.-27. January the doors of the exhibition halls in Düsseldorf will be opened for Europas largest water spLocation exhibition. More than 1.600 exhibitors from more than 50 countries will present their newest products on the 39. International Boot Show to the interested audience. The 300 exhibitors for diving equipment and related products can be found in exhibition hall 3 as every year. SanDisk RedSea 2007 - Report & Results

The SanDisk Red Sea 2007 Competition took place last week, on the 12th-17th of November, in Eilat, Israel. Over one hundred and twenty underwater photographers from all over the world, including Spain, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Swiss, Argentina, Costa Rica, Israel and more, arrived to Eilat especially to attend this prestigious event.

Contest participant Sharon Rainis was kind enough to do a complete write-up of the event which we are pleased to share with you. Also many thanks to Razi Livnat for doing some live-coverage photos and the organizer David "Pilo" Pilosov, who delivered the results and winning images so promptly. Our World Underwater Coverage

Jason Heller from DivePhotoGuide had the oportunity to visit the Our World Underwater show in Chigago (Feb 9-11, 2007). He has written up a nice coverage, proving that even cold weather can't hold back divers from diving.
