Dear friends,

I have just received an Email that I was nervously awaiting for a while.
Now I am a little bit sad but also proud. Read on to find out why…

Thank you so much for entering the Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition 2007.
We received over 32,000 pictures from 78 countries - a record breaking year.
Unfortunately, your digital entries were not successful in this years competition.
To see if any of your images made it into the semi-final or final stages, login to our website.

After logging in I found that three of my images made it into the
Semi-Finals. I would like to share these with you in this post and
am very exited to find out if they are among the selected ones for
the prestigious yearbook or exhibition.

However much more I am interested in your feedback.

In total I entered 8 different photos and
placed these in four different categories.
Three of them seem to have done okay.

If you have previously entered the competition or if you
have any experience with this competition, I’d like to find
out how many images are selected into semi-final stage
and how to judge about this status.

This was on my login-page a few minutes ago.

I found the wreck of a WWII aircraft at the bottom of a lake in Ireland and now ITV want to do a documentary about the aircraft and asked me to do all the underwater footage which I’m really going to enjoy.

I also got on the BBC at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cumbria/6210070.stm when I found an untouched wreck at the bottom of Ullswater. Here is the video that I took of it and that got on ITV Wales which is where I live.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0hjGAibqGU

It was really tricky to film as any contact with the bottom or the wreck would just kick up clouds of silt and vis it out but I managed to get about 45 mins of footage and edited together this little vid. Hope you like it.
