I have FL-50R flash unit, too.
The first doubt is: Fantasea FFL-50 case or real substrobe, like Ikelite DS-51, for example?
Another one: If I decide to take real substrobe, would I buy TTL converter (e.g. http://www.heinrichsweikamp.net/blitz/en/oly-ttl.htm, 174 EUR)+weaker strobe unit, or stronger but manual power regulation unit?
If you have some other solution in your mind, please, be free…

Price limit: $500 + shipping

Thanks in advance

After a months of experiments I descided to go for external strobe. What can be combined with Canon housing? Should I go for “slave” or block the built in flash with optical cable?

Hi ,this is the question, :
I just bought an Ikelite TTL housing for the Canon EOS 350 D, to this camera that replaced my old Nikon Coolpix 5000 I tried to connect my Ikelite DS50 and DS125, (the strobes were bought rispectively in the 2001 and in the 2002), with the single 4103 ( DS125/or DS50) and the double 4103.2 with the two strobes, the strobes doesn’t works with the camera, they fires freely without any syncronization
At the end ,what can I do ?
Put the strobes and the cords in the rubbish and buy new DS125,DS51(the DS50 is no longer in the Ikelite catalogue, replaced by the new DS51)and ,as well ,the new cord?
Or there is an alternative solution?
Thanks for helping friends,

I am a newbie in underwater photography. Is the Ikelite AF35 strobe kit compatible with the camera & housing I have? My camera is the Canon SD800IS with Canon’s housing WP-DC9. If it is compatible, is the AF35 strobe kit user friendly, i.e. if my camera’s flash fires, will the AF35 automatically fire, do I need any other accessories for them to work together such as some kind of fiber optic cord?
