Do you use a Canon DSLR underwater?

Hi,

if you use a Canon DSLR underwater, speak English, and use it in an underwater housing please show up here and let us know the details about your rig. The idea is to gather something like a digital underwater photography usergroup that can share user experience and advice that is typical for this brand of camera and lenses. Of course third party lenses are welcome into the discussion, too!

So after an introduction of what this is about I think I can start - guess what: I am a Canon user, too!
I have experience with the Canon EOS10D, 300D (Digital Rebel), 350D and currently for topside a 5D.
I use(d) the last three cameras in HUGYFOT housings and the 10D also in a UK-GERMANY housing.

You are invited to introduce your rig in this space and bomb everyone with questions…

I would like to complete Digideeps list of underwater housings for the Sony DSLR A-350 with housing from:

Ikelite, model #6841.35, $1500 USD, http://www.ikelite.com/web_two/sony_a200.html
Nimar N303DI, http://www.nimar.it/custodie_reflex_digitali_eng.htm

There is today no information on Nimar website of uw housing for Sony A-350, but you can order it if you send the camera to get it fitted.
I have recently received my new housing for A-350 from Nimar, but unfortunately I had to send it back for modifications I requested (I wanted to get the control for ISO settings exposed).

Nikon D80 with Patima

I have a Nikon D80 and I look the Patima Housing.
They look good, have 2 connectores, good handling, and glass dome and ports.
Is there someone with experience with this housing?
Where can I find this housing in europe (via net?)

Does anybody know which housing can be used for a KODAK ZD710.
I’ve searched a lot but it seems that there is no housing that can be used for this camera.

Hi Canon has just announcend a new DSLR modell in
their Line-Up which is going to be parked right below
the current 450D modell.

10 Megapixels and (just) a 2.5” screen, but
including LiveView are the main features.

Personally I think it is an answer to Nikons low-end
strategy (D40x, D50 etc.) that is around for a while
and also responds to the slow start of the 450D.

What do you think about it?

Hello all, I`m new to this forum, but regular visitor of Digideep.

Several months ago I bought my first DSLR Canon 400D, now I`m planning to buy Sea&sea;housing for it and start with ambiental photo (wreckage)…
I saw that Tokina 10-17 is excelent for that, now im little bit confused about ports and setup for my lens!What ports do you recommend for Tokina, and what port should I buy for 100mm macro lens.

NIKON D60 housings

I just got the new D60 and it is, as I expected a very good camera.

I can’t wait to dive with it and I have found at least three options for it (one has already my favour but I won’t say which yet) :

> Aquatica D40X

> Fantasea FD40X

> Ikelite D40

Any opinion or other recommandation?

Fujifilm F100FD and F50FD feedback

I was diving in Sogod Bay out of Peter’s Dive Resort last February and met a nice couple from England that had just acquired an F50FD with the Fuji underwater housing. I was using a Canon SD800IS with the Canon housing. I was amazed at the quality of the Fuji pics compared to those on my Canon. We had several photos of the same subjects, taken only moments apart and the Fuji was noticeably better on macro shots that were magnified and cropped. I am now trying to get feedback from other divers and would like to hear opinions on the newer Fuji F100FD because it has a 5X optical zoom and a 28 to140mm 35mm equivalent lense. I’m just a recreational point and shoot UW photoghrapher and my main interests are macro subjects such as nudibranches, seahorses, shrimps and smaller stationary fish. Thanks for any feedback.
