I’m thinking about upgrading to the 7070/PT-027. I own the Inon UWL 100 Type 2 wide angle lens that is a “wet” lens that screws onto the PT-010 lensport. My reading of things and viewing pics suggests that I will also have to purchase a different W/A lens and the Oly W/A lens adapter for the PT-027. Is this correct? It looks like the PT-020/PT027 lens port is not threaded but uses a toggle fastener. Is that also correct or does it also have threading?

If so, the cheap upgrade is now not looking so cheap and easy.

Also, I use the Ileklite DS-125 strobe. Are there setting changes I have to implement to get the onboard flash to fire in Macro/SuperMacro?

Thanks

Hi ,

the Inon UWL 100 fitts also at the PT20 and PT27 housing but depending on the lower 27 mm you will get a vignetting in the WA mode if you want to zoom to get of, you will have a unsharp field around the pic the only way to solve this is to mount the Inon Dome . I use this setup myselve
without any problems .

Looks like Olympus is foolishly trying to get more proprietary. Kind of stupid since the C-5060, C-8080, C-5050 can trigger a third pardty slave strobe in super macro.  Bunk!!!!!!!!

I ended up going with an Ikelite housing because I still think that for the money spent this is one of the better cameras on the market for underwater photography.  I use an Ikelite DS-125 strobe which has the added bonus of a true synch coard TTL and a modeling light that greatly helps with Autofocus.

Please do complain to Olympus using the link below - maybe they will correct this handicap via a firmware update?

Richard, the camera/housing is committed to a trip 9/10-9/17. It may then be available since I don’t need 2 U/W cameras.

Thanks so much for the reply.
I am on my 2nd Olympus C4000 and have borrowed my buddy’s PT010 housing a few times, including a trip to Golopogos last year. It worked great. I am going to the Red Sea Oct 26th and thought time to get one of my own.
Please keep me posted as I would be interested.

Regards,
Richard
