I see your point but i will make room for system since this is my carreer and with how strobes such as the inon are getting smaller it is getting easier to carry the DSLr’s but i think the canon eos line is better then nikon but i will always side with canon heeh no matter what anyways good luck in your search

FWIW some details on the housing

Flash connectors:
Optionally Nikonos V, IKELITE or subtronic S6 sockets.
TTL mode available ONLY with S6 socket and original Canon flush gun!

So keep that in mind

But if you are going manual not a huge deal (more so in the days of film).  You can dial the Ikelite, for instance, with a few settings or adjust the camera based on the feedback from the image you just took.  On thing to keep in mind is size of the DS-125 (or some of the other large strobes), something like the Ikelite DS-51 (I have shot the DS-50) is smaller and just use AA batteries and no charger.  Less to carry.  I took the DS-50 out by itself a few times and it did an okay job (and also shot as part of a dual rig triggering a Sea & Sea YS 90DX and another time with the DS-125) and kicking around the idea of maybe not taking or selling the DS-125 to save space and just go with dual DS-51s

Just to be clear in case the original poster is looking for TTL, TTL does work with digital and synchs properly if the strobe, camera and housing are designed to co-exist.  It is just that this combination will not

TTL can work if if the stobe and housing support it im just saying from my experiance i have gotten better results from shooting in MAnual and adjusting manual power levels .

NP, but your post was written the TTL Mode did synch properly with digital, but did with film.

Overall there are situations where TTL may or may not work well depending on the situation, which applies to both film and digital.

Though manual nowadays with instant feedback is alot easier than in the old days :D

definately digital age has the advantage with review and fix with man .

for the DSLR’S you need a external flash (amphibian flashes from: Inon, Ikelite, Hartenberger, Sea&Sea, Subtronic etc) or you buy a housing for your Nikon flashes. You can get these housings from various companys.

Do you mean camera or camcorder? And when you say digital, do you mean digital recording (miniDV type) or actual recording to a hard drive?

The P3 and 7600 are digital cameras not camcorders.

Video housings usually make camera housings look inexpensive, though Ikelite makes some less expensive housings that can be found in the $600 range or so for some Canons and other cameras.  Some of the Canons can be had for around $400
