I take photos of surfers with a digital canon 400d. I usually step into the water up to about a foot. I need to protect the camera from splashs. Does anyone know if the digital 400d is resistant to water in the same way that the 1d is reputed to be?
Also if I am taking photos of surfers its really a different set of problems. I have never used an underwater housing and doubt it would be of interest as I libve in the northern part of the UK and so there is probably not enough light.
I would like to go into the water up to about mid chest height and maybe take photos of surfers from there. What sorts of problems may I face and what sorts of equipemtn woiuld I need. I think underwtaer housing are maybe quite heavy and designed to be used underwater. I really want to use above water lenses (preferably long zoom lenses).
