Hi,

maybe you are interested in, I finished my new short film about diving in closed spaces. This a movie trailer of a fictitious feature film. Only 5 minutes, with special music composed only for it.

Hi Jules,

very nice film again… and in high quality. some scenes are look a bit artificial and I would benefit
from some more post production effects. but all in all nice short story…

Hello Jules,

great footage! I can only imagine how much work you put into this!  shock
The music is a perfect match!

If you allow I like to add some suggestions:
- The clip looses its trailer approach very quick because of the length of the movie.
- It was a bit confusing. It seems that the diving took place in different environment but the clip gives no explanation for it.
- Over all I found it a bit too long

I think you should let go of the trailer idea and compose the clip more like “let me tell you a story about some crazy divers”

Hi,

thanks guys:-) There is about 1,5 months thinking and editing behind this…

I personally do not like to have too much effects, but maybe for a triler it is a godd idea. My examples were the clips: the trailer of the Deep Blue and a short film from Göran Ehlmé: http://www.waterproof.se/films/Waterproof_dl480.mov

Well, it is longer than a normal trailer, however, since it is fictitiuos, I thought it can works as a short film as well.

There are 3 and a half different environments - wreck, cavern, under ice and a real cave. I hoped that the titles gives clues where we are…

Well, my first film was 10 min long, it is just 5. The next can be only 2,5 grin The truth is, very hard to make a really good movie - without a script. These short film are based on the workng method of the cinema verité. Going out and shoot, and during editing you are trying to find out the story…

Hi Jules,

I know that there is a lot of work involved in creating a movie like this and I didn’t
want to offend you with my comments.
It was just that I was thinking that moste of scenes have a certain look and give a
certain mood, which I really like and which is still rare in underwater videography,
but some scenes just stand out of this look and create a bit of a distubing
impression.

/lars

PS: I really like to music in teh Göran Ehlmé movie.

Dear Lars,

any critical comments help me to make a better film next time or improve this film, so do not hesitate to comment it:-)

Which scenes are you thinking of? I think the Z1 footage will be the “stange” one, since it gave only the ice sequences, all other are form my old SD HC-40 1 CCD Sony camcorder. I tried to give the whole film the same, a little bit depressing, dark look, however, the Z1 footage is much more sharper than the others…
