Hi,

I am looking to buy a camera with underwater housing with a budget of about 600 euro.

Probably it will be a compact camera something like Canon G7/G9, Nikon Coolpix 5100, Olympus C-7070 or so.

I like to take pictures of nudibranches, however when searching the net it looks like pictures from c-7070’s are pretty good. Often I find “Canon Nudis” not that sharp / crispy if you know what I mean.

Looking at the specifications and reviews the canon and coolpix seem pretty good.

So I am blurred right now. My question is what is the best macro camera for Nudis ?

a late reply to your question but. the g9 or p5000 in ike housing both produce very good macro shots when combined with the inon ucl 165 macro lenses stacked .

i use the p5000 and up to 3 of the inon close up lenses stacked .  here are some of my shots with wide and macro lenses to show what the p5000 can do.
