Sorry I didn’t see a post asking for any of this. Infact when I search posts by yourself I get only this thread and also the thread entitled Nov. 2007 Issue of Metro Active Magazine. So as far as I can tell you never posted with a problem before. However all the information you are asking about is available when you click to submit a photo.
1. each photographer is allowed to participate with only one photo per week. additional submissions will be automaticly considered as a contribution to the following weeks contest.
2. submissions after wednesday will be included in next weeks contest due to fairness in terms of voting.
3. photo must be taken with a housed digital camera in conditions that require camera protection from fresh or salt water.
4. photo must be submitted in a minumum size of 800 x 600 pixels.
5. original EXIF information has to be submitted with the picture.
6. use of image editing software encouraged, with the goal of striving for better quality and higher realism; technique should be noted in the comment field.
7. photos which are out of focus or suffer from strong backscatter might be removed during the running contest. please understand that the final decission about the winning picture is up to our jury. online votes just indicate a trend and are checked for manipulations.
As far as I have experienced as long as I submit a photo along these guidelines it is accepted. However there maybe a size limit or file type that may also be being taken into consideration that I am sure Lars will confirm if there are other limiting factors. Generally I submit a photo as you did (normally slightly smaller res) in .jpg format.
I would also suggest only submitting one photo per week, that way you are in control of which photo enters which week competition. The additional photos are only considered for the next weeks competitions and are added manually not automatically.
It is also a wise idea to title your threads a bit better to draw the right kind of attention “help” is just a little vaigue, and then we had to ask for what it was you wanted help for.
I hope this information helps, and also I am sure Lars will confirm any exact requirement for image submission, but the rules and upload features are quite simple and easy to adhere to.
