I just know that someone out there has some good advice for me!  I’m pretty much settled on an Ikelite housing for my XTi, but I need to decide on a good lens before I choose the port.  I live in Hawaii and dive a lot.  I’m really drawn to the macro life, but also want a lens that can take reasonable wide angle shots.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi,

if you want a versatile lens you should start with the 18-55mm kit lens.

For macro the EF-S 60 Macro is great. If you want more extrme macros choose the 100mm Macro.
All lenses from canon.

I am using the The SD400 with Ikelite housing and SD200 flash with either my 10-22 mm or 100 macro.  I am going to try either the 17-85 mm f4 - f5.6 or the 17-55mm f2.8.  I don’t like being limited to wide or macro.  Below is a link to some pics from my first trip with this setup.
