Hi there! No, I haven’t got it yet, but I plan to get one; that’s why I tried to get info about it. Can you tell me how it gets “set up” for such or such camera? Thank you!

I’m not shure what you mean by “set up” are we talking kontrol links or how the camera is fitted in the housing.

I was more thinking about how the camera is fitted in the housing.... I reckon you have to use some kind of little constricting pegs? And by the way, I have another question : can you use your zoom with this housing?
Thanks!

The camera is fitted on a a rack and slided into the housing like the Ikelite.
My dome does not offer zoom kontrol, It was special made to fit the sigma 10-20mm.
It is very similar to the one’s from Ikelite. But the controls feel’s better on this one.

Thank you very much for your answer, and for the pictures! I’m glad to read this housing has got positive points compared to the Ikelite, because the ratings and prices shown on the equipment pages felt like the opposite....
Sorry that your dome won’t allow zoom, I’ll let you know whether mine does (when I get it, i.e. within one month I hope!); I doubt it though, will have to get used to wide angle default setting!
How is the aiming, with the mask and all?
If you want to have some fun, go and read Nimar’s “English” description of the housing! http://www.nimar.it/custodie_reflex_digitali_eng.htm
Cheers

Just read the other topic, nice insight into Nimar’s dome variations..... I’m looking forward to getting my housing! But I’m aiming at some warmer waters.... Egypt at the end of March! I’ll let you know....

Hi J_eckard,
we would look forward to hear back from your experience with a more
recent version of that NIMAR housing. Kenneth’s report has come into
age and needs an update
Anyway thanks Kenneth for taking the time to report back and help
other users in this board. Your input is always highly appreciated.

No problem, I’ll get you some feedback about the Nimar 303D when I get a chance to use it, i.e. my mi-April.
Cheers!

Hello again!
Kenneth, if you happen to read this, could you tell me if there is a standard screw hole at the bottom of the housing? And if there’s one, can I remove the handles to gain weight as I’ll already have a strobe arm?
I’m now looking for a strobe (as my slave one won’t work on this housing); every one keeps saying that digital cameras behave strangely regarding flashes. But I already tried putting a 1970 flash on my EOS400d hot shoe, and this worked perfectly fine. Does that mean that I’ll have no problem with an old nikonos strobe, for example?
Cheers,
J

Hi J.
There is no screwhole on the bottom of the house.
But i’m shure you can get it if you order it from Nimar
when you get you’r house.
The handles are mounted on the side of the house.
Her are two pictures of it.
(The housing is lighter than the one’s from Ikelite)

Great! Thank you for the picture.... But I suppose the attach points at the top of the handles are standard? I’ll look into it and in case ask Nimar about tripod screw hole....
Thanks!

Hello!
I’m still looking for equipment to go with my housing, while still waiting for the housing itself....
I was wondering if this type of cord is what I’m looking for? They said “5-pin”, but the housing side of the cord counts 3 pins, but I suppose the side of the connector counts 2 electrical contacts as well....
So does your Nimar 303D strobe connector look like this?
Thanks!
Jean
