I am looking after at uw-housing and camera, wich takes good video, but also is very compact, so that i might mount it on the side of my head while diving.

Housing should be waterproof to 60 meters or something like that.
Video should be good in low light enviroment
Cheap is good..

I have been looking at a lot of products, but havent found the perfect product yet - anyone can help me with this setup ?

It would be helpful to see what you have found so far… Could you please
tell us what you have considered so far..

May first thought was on the xacti video cameras as they are relativly
small.

ciao Lars

Well i have looked at a lot of products, but always end up with stuff like gates, sony pd190, vx2100 and other expencive an bulky setups. And i really dont know much about the difference between the censors of the differnet models, so i just see 150 different models where i cant tell wich is the better one.. ( Yes one day i want one of the really expencive one too!)

anyway my budget is about 1000 - 1500 euroes(camcorder + housing) , maybee a little more if is is a really good choice…

I bought a Sanyo Xacti C40 an a EHS-400X housing but was never happy with the result that I managed to get, but it is very small indeed.  On land I carry it around as my every day camera (mainly stills) and for that it is quite nice…

Sanyo XACTI is by far the smallest and lightest combination with a housing, as the housing smoothly fits to the camcorder. XACTI however is not the best camcorder, unfortunately low-light is one of the weaknesses; you may check into tests, e.g. on slashcam or in magazines - but considering the very low price of the combination, this might be what you need - and it is not bad at all.

I do not know any camcorder/housing which you could attach to the head or whereever else. All housing I have ever seen are for two-hand usage only. If XACTI is still too big for you, stop searching, I’m afraid. Also, 60 m and a very small housing does not work together. 60 m requires a professional housing and those are not small. But below 30 m, nothing works without light, which you also need to carry. Your requirements cannot be fulfilled in total - nowhere. You have to give up something.
