Hello!
I’ve got a Nimar 303D housing for a Canon EOS400D camera, and I’ve got problems regarding buttons.
1) One of them presents a little rusted spot on its inside metal part. How could I check if this is a micro-leak or if it’s a cas-opening contamination?
2) The buttons don’t always react the way they are supposed to; especially, some of them are depressed continuously, making some settings impossible for me (and having, for example, the camera menus scrolling like mad on their own during the dive, which is great for battery life-span). And some buttons are very hard to get a result from (I never heard of anyone else than me having this kind of problems, but for me it’s the second housing doing this....)
3) As a consequence of that, I depressed one of the buttons rather too much, and it got stuck in depressed position (getting me problem 2.1 again).... I managed to refit the little metal half ring in place,

but how can I avoid the hard-to-press buttons problem altogether?

Thank you very much!
J

Silicone spray on the internal “shafts” of the buttons and then excersizing them a lot.
Longer stay in fresh water after diving - at least one hour - again excersizing buttons during this helps. After a dive trip, try leaving the housing submerged in fresh water for a day or so.

Hopes this helps you

Thanks a lot for your answer, I’ll try that as soon as I get some silicon spray!
Cheers, Jean
