We’re still in the purchase mode for a digital underwater camera.  Can you use the Sea&Sea external strobes on any of the olympus cameras?

Hi
@ thehawk2002
Yes of course you can but you have to use the Digitaladapter of Matthias Heinrichs (Germany) this genious little part konnektet to the synkkable
of the sea and sea strobes or others is able to manage the only real slave mode (semi TTL) to most of all digi still cams . I´m using a Oly C3000z in a PT10 housing with two YS60 TTL strobes one with an niconos V plug the other with an Sea and Sea plug they both are working very well.
Thank of the Digitaladapter the external strobe is sending the preflash and the mainflash at the same time as the internal flash so that the kamera is able to regulate the exposure (flash time) like original TTL without knowing anything about the external strobes. For further information have a look at
Matthias HP http://www.muenster.de/~matthias/blitz/index.htm
For other parts eg. strobearms, stays, special equipment for any digi still cam you ll hav a look at my HP http://www.mike-dive.de (german page the english version is under konstruktion)

You can use the Sea&Sea YS25 & YS90 Autos with Olympuses - either by using the internal flash as a slave (you will still get backscatter) or using the Fibre-optic cable - see http://www.camerasunderwater.co.uk/sea_sea/flash/ys25.html

I would prefer this solution: http://www.muenster.de/~matthias/blitz/oly2nikone.htm Unfortunately Matthias could not say if this will work with a C5060, as well.

Best wishes,
Satura

I am thinking of buying a PT22 housing for a either a C765 or a C770 and would like to understand if the external strobe TTL connector of this housing is compatible with any flash other than a housed Olympus one and if this possibility is only applicable to a C770 (external flash shoe) or also to a C765.
Can somebody help me here?
Thanks
Rafael

Hi guys,
@ hoppichler, the only cam you can use with an external TTL strobe by wire connecting in PT22 is the c770 because the C765 / C760 has no strobe plug . The C765/760 is only usuable with optical slave systems the C770 you can use with the Olympus FL20 in its housing or .... with the MH / Mikedive solution for the PT 20,22,23 housings and all Sea and Sea strobes ( without the YS25) and the Ikelite DS125 and the Inon Z220 ( the pilot and laser switch comeing soon..... we hope (:-) )
