It’s a nice picture. I like it. But so many votes within such a short time looks a little bit like selfvoting or votings from friends…

In the last weeks, I’ve seen a lot of this magic examples with a lot of votes for a picture within a few hours while other really nice pictures of the contest gets one or two votes within the same time.

I think, thats not the system, the contest should work....

Generally I agree with your complains about pictures being over-rated sometimes (happened to me before...), but in this case, I think that the situation might be different.
I’m actually writing this post after I have already voted to this picture (and before reading your comment), since I found it very unique and inspiring. I think that in this case, the picture might have actually [u:f1c841a4f5]won[/u:f1c841a4f5] all it’s votes, in the legal old good way… :D

I think it’s a wonderful picture, and also a good choice of a name!

the votes lats weeks picture were alright. Please specify what you ment by “the last weeks”. We will closely monitor this weeks votes for fairness!  :oops:

The thing I don’t understand is the short time there some pictures gets a lot of votes. Sometimes a picture has no or just a few votes for a few days, gets then a lot of votes within a few hours und no more or only a few votes after that. That didn’t look very normal. It looks like sending a mail to a lot of friends to vote for the picture and after all this votes are made, the votes continue in regular speed.

The thing I don’t understand is, that some people are happy with their not regular system to get a lot of votes…

With “the last weeks” I mean the last two PODW from week 29 and 30. Each of these both weeks the winner was from Canada, made the winning picture at Salt Pier, Bonaire and gets the most of the votes within a few hours. That should not mean, that I don’t like these two pictures. The pictures are very very good, but it was the same mysterious thing with the votes: first a few votes, then many many votes within a few hours and after that, the votes was continue in regular speed.

So I hope, that a new voting system will come soon. I don’t want to send a mail to all of my friends worldwide to vote for my pictures that I have almost weekly in your contest. I’m proud, that I’ve got the PODW in week 15/2004 just with the votes from persons that I don’t know…
