Hi Pierre,

thank you very much for you contribution and feedback for this housing. I briefly checked your site and found it a little bit hard to get to the underwater gallery of your australia trip, you mentioned. Maybe you could provide a direct link?

What impressed me very much was this wonderful picture you took of a mink whale. Why don’t you try your luck in our picture of the week contest? I am sure you have good chances of winning and presenting your picture on our main page? Just click on “contest” above and select “submit”.

I’ve had a look at your website and find your comments about the G5 underwater housing very interesting.

Are you aware of any filter lenses available that would fit the housing?

When using my Sony DSCP5, I always carry an orange filter lens and find it quite helpful for all shots taken in non-macro range.

You can check out some of the stuff I took with the Sony at this address:

Bearing in mind that I am a real amateur, just starting with underwater photography, I must say that the Sony has done an acceptable job. However, because of the less than poor battery life, I always wish I could take my Canon G5 with me.

I think I would buy the G5 undwerwater housing, if I could find an accessory filter lens for it.

Hello Reiner,
I do not use any filter. You can shoot in RAW format with the G5, and after you can modify the white balance in your computer. And you also need to have an external strobe to get good light ...
In order to reduce the noise of the pictures, you can use also the noice reducer neatimage which is great for underwater noisy pictures.
What is very interesting, is that you can add with this housing a UMIE WDP-701 semi fisheye lens for great angle shots and I just bought a INON UCL-165 close-up lense (see lenses section of this URL) x2 for macro magnification, using M67 filter.

Regards,

Pierre

Does anyone know where I can find an underwater housing for my canon G5?  Vendor and item number please.
