Hi Jim,

can you give us the Link of the picture you are reffering to?
I think you mean one of the POTW’s, right?

Sorry about that.

I was referring to the Lizard Fish in the week 51 contest:

Here is the same lizard from a different angle, I thought the picture of the contest was a bit more clear.
I like both.

Anonther great picture from a great moment, I think!
The red eye is really amazing. I have never seen that
on a Lizard fish. Is this something regional or does it
happen once they get excited to eat?

It might also be an effect caused by the photo-settings.
@Lars: I am really longing for the EXIF button underneath!

I also have a Lizardfish photo where the fish has a red eye. That photo was taken up close and I am wondering if the strobe caused it similar to “red eye"in a human photo?

This Lizardfish photo was taken farther away and at a different angle and the red-eye does not seem to be present. They are both the same species of Lizardfish but not the same fish in both photos.

I think its the same red-eye effect as in human people shots!

Jim is right, I remember that the lizards eyes were black. I checked the picture before it was edited and they were red, the flash caused it.
