Hi Everyone,

I just came back from Isla Guadelupe and would like to share some images with you.

Hello to everybody who was on that trip with me. I’d be happy to receive some comments
and feedback until I finished a full trip report. I’d also like to keep in touch via our forum.

Some more shots from the surface and Island,..

The tuna was bitten in half by a Great White Shark while Melanie tried to reel it to the surface.

Hi Krischops,

thank you for your positive Feedback. It makes me want to take more photos.
Actually I prefer taking these images from a cage. I know people tried to do it
without but have a look what happened to the tuna to get an idea of what
could happen if the shark is having a bad day..

wink Andi

Andi

Beautiful shots, and I agree, I think the cage is the way to go smile

I haven’t got any plans for diving with Great Whites as yet .. but the shark diving i have done and want to do will not be involving a cage ... i like the scare factor smile

Giles

You are a very brave man indeed, I have been in the water with sharks without a cage, but just something about the Great Whites, and certain others, that even in the cage the scare factor should be high enough for me smile

Of course I am considering going diving with Tiger Sharks and Bull Sharks without a cage if my schedule permits - I really need my head examined.  But I figure either the photo housing or video housing will be between them and myself, so I may rely on that false sense of security

Maybe more stupid than brave .. and maybe more mouth than trousers as I really haven’t done much shark diving .. my only real experiences were this year in South Africa on the Sardine Run

Hey Giles, why don’t you share some photos from your Sardine Run trip.
I know you have some awesome shots. Just open up another thread
and let us know about it here once you are done.

Would really like to see some of your favorites grin

Hello Andi,

Beautiful shots posted here...I love them.

Can you tell me the name of the dive charter company you used for the diving there ?  Maybe a web link?
I’m looking around to doing a trip to take some of my own photos of this infamous predator.  Is there a “best time of the year” to visit Guadalupe for shark encounters or is it year round thing?

Thanks a bunch

A good friend.
