Hi friends,
I have purchased a used Ikelite SubStrobe 200. I hasn’t never an

Ikelite Strobe and now I don’t know if It work
(I haven’t “Instruction of Use manual").
When I switch ON or BATT the strobe (not plugged with UW housing)

emit a continuous sound (beep). When I switch BATT all three led are

lighting. It’s normal?
There is a method to test the flash light without plug the strobe at

the housing?
It’s possible download the “Instruction of Use” of this strobe?  :?:  :?:

Thanks for info.

The continuous Beep sounds odd ... but if the strobe fires and flashes then i would say it is ok (all strobes make a squeel .. long high pitched sound when charging and charged)

They dont have manuals on their websites .. however If you contact them I am sure they can help you get your hands on a manual if you would like one.

Hi digitallywet,
thank for info. Yes is odd… because the strobe is unplugged from housing and not have fired! I don’t know if this beep derive from battery pack exhausted or is normal when strobe is unplugged or other.

I will try to contact the Ikelite to resolve the question.
I hope to find the email address of Ikelite support.

Thanks

All three LEDs illuminated indicates fully charged battery pack.  These strobes have an electrical circuit that monitors capacitor charge.  This will charge the capacitors to full and shut off, turning the charge cycle back on when the capacitors drop to a prescribed level.  This produces very uniform illumination on every flash from the first to the 121st.

Biggest concern is the older SubStrobe 200 models will not operate with most current digital cameras.  New DS-200 has completely revised circuitry to be compatible with current digital cameras................
