Well, I’m planning to arrive at the Phillipines next month, and I was wondering what’s the best island for diving there?

Thanks!!

I actually meant dive sites in Puerto Galera (Phillipines), which you could recommend.

thanks PTXbassplayer,

do you think you could link some of your pictures here in the forum. One or
two per dive site would be great. It would give an idea what to expect, when
diving there.

HI
I went to the Phils last year and would higly recommend diving in El Nido
in Pallawan although out of the way and hard to get to, it’s really worht the trip.

My wife is from Bohol and I might be a bit biased, but the diving around Panglao Island, just south of Tagbilaran, was just fantastic, not to mention Balicasag Island just a few miles from there.
There is a dive site there with a black coral reef just 30 feet deep!!! it’s just fantastic. Lots to see: turtles, hammerheads all kinds of sea snakes.....

Both provinces, Bohol and Palawan are out of the “tourist belt” so for anyone who wants to have a quiet time, I really recommend them.

Hi Sharon,

how is life in general and how turned your trip out?
Did you bring some nice pictures back? Lars and I would
love to meet you again next this year at the Eilat Competition.

Cheers, Andi

Hi Andy,

Great picture of you behind the coral.

I visited the Philippines last year, eventually I arrived at Boracay island. The diving around the island is nice, but not breath taking. However, Victory Divers on that island offers a two days boat trip to a wonderful place called “Panakatan”. It’s an amazing diving spot, where you can find many grey sharks, black tips, hammer heads, whale sharks (if you get there on the right time of the year...) and mantas. Most of the dives there are deep drift dives, mainly for experienced divers. Mostly recommended!
I would love to share some photos, but sadly (very sadly) my housing leaked severely on my first dive there, and my D70s camera was free diving, well, for too many minutes…

I’m leaving for a diving Safari on the south of Egypt in a month. I’m planning to take at least 3 housings and cameras for that trip, so there are no surprises this time. I’ll be happy to share some photos when I get back.

I will be more than happy to meet you again this Novemeber, on the Sandisk competition. Although having you two around really reduces my chances… You had some great shots last year!

Take care meanwhile,

Sharon

Good to hear from you! Sad to hear about your D70, though!
What is your next system going to be and which housing? grin

I think Noam is the real tread wink * We got a little better though…
