Can someone please tell me what I need to download my videos to my PC for editing. When I bought the DVD92 I was told it was easy to download and edit the videos, but now I do not seem to be able to it and no one I have spoken with can tell me how. Do I need any special SW or HW? Are there any special procedures I need to know? Thanks

Take a look at the file structure first - if you recorded so that the DVD92 DVD recorded to a DVD which plays in your DVD player it means (in all likelihood) that it is “muxed” VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder.

If so, what you would need to do is break the VIDEO_TS folder into an editable format (AVI, etc.) using items such as MPEG STREAMCLIP http://www.squared5.com/ to bring it into a video editing software that you can use.  (Note you may also be able to do some tweaking of the elements themselves if you break it to elementary streams such as m2c/AC3 files, but it depends on the sofware, converting from the mux to the editable streams and then back can cause loss of quality.  Another option is to use the video/audio outs from the camera (if it has them) to an Analog/Digital breakout box.)
