Are there any specific filters, lenses, etc built for the Olympus underwater housing (PT-030)? I am looking on-line and have met with limited success. I have found lenses and such for surface use, but nothing specific on underwater use.

I am looking at buying a delicately used SP-350 with housing from a friend that upgraded to the Nikon D70 so I am hoping he gives me a sweet deal. I am trying to do some research on options beforehand though.

Thank you.

How the search going ?

What are you after specifically ? or do you not know.

What sort of photography will you be doing .. close up? fish shots? big large scenes? Shallow or deep ?

Let us know a bit more info and maybe some other suggestions can come in .. but there is extra ports for wide and macro (i believe) and many filters etc .. and underwater sub-strobes of course.

All of which you may or may not want depending on what you are planning on doing !
btw .. IMO the SP350 is a sweet little camera !

I seem to have a good eye for Macro opportunities at this point. I can get great angles on coral, reef fish, etc. I would like to take some wide-angle shots and also have more ability to take Macro shots.  I just do not know what adapters, etc I would for underwater use. I am still looking for the camera as well - I currently have an older Canon S230 that has served me well and will continue to see time in the water for those non-photo dives where I bring the camera just in case. My friend is having second thoughts on selling his SP-350, but I am working on him. grin

Any advice you have for brands, websites, whatever that would inform me more of options availabel for the SP-350 would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I have had the SP-350 in my hands and also tried it
underwater and can state that it is a usable camera
for underwater photography.

Go for it! wink

Thanks Andreas. Other than the camera itself (and assumedly a strobe) did you use any filters or lenses with it?  If so, which ones?

Thanks!
