Hello I am new to the forum and new to photography.

I have a canon powershot a510.  I am looking to get a wide angle lens.  the 2 that i have my eye on are

52mm 0.45x wide angle lens

and

37mm 0.45x wide angle lens

PROBLEM is i know that one is just wider than the other, BUT i could not find picture samples of before and after using the lens so i know which one is the better one for me.

SO

if anyone can share pictures or know a site where they have before and afters for similar lenses i would be very gratefull

Hi

Are the wide angle adapters for underwater use?  From the specs you supply, I have the impression that this is not the case, it looks like you are referring to adapters for direct attachment to the camera for use topside.

You don’t specify what manufacturer the adapter is from, but I think you will find that the 52mm and 37mm refer to the diameter of the adapter, not the focal length, thus you need to pick the adapter with the diameter that suits your lens.  The 0.45x part looks like a focal length multiplier, i.e. the change the adapter will cause to your existing lens.

Hope that helps.
