Oh well then, here it comes.

Markus Bosshard,

Living in Zürich Switzerland, with only cold lakes around, some of them with amazing vis right now, up to 10m!
I’m a Padi DM, since 2003 and I’m diving since 99.

My fist experiences with UW Photography I made in 2000 in my advanced course and I’m fascinated about it since that very first moment!
In 2001 during my Australia trip, I could borrow an analog MX-5 compact camera. People where amazed by the photos I took then ( but today I’m only smiling about those pics! ) So the year after a friend and me bought together an Oly 4040 and I joined a course with Kurt Amsler, having seen what DSLR is capable of and the friend not being a friend anymore, I got myself a D100 from Nikon and a Jonah housing.

Here I am, have had the honor to win the POTW a few times I want take the opportunity to thank you all for voting, and choosing the best images with it, for me every vote I get is a highlight!

That was it!
Thanks again

cheers
thomhard

btw: Andi, the Shirt arrived right away after you announced it, Thanks a lot for it and Sorry for being so late! But a pic of me in it only comes when it happens to happen!

I have never done it .. but I have been told that below the ice the water is actually quite warm.

Is this true ?

Depends if you call 1° to 4°C warm!?! wink

Where I learnt to dive the water was often at those temperatures or less (sometimes below) I was told the water was able to be sub zero because it was moving so couldnt freeze. Either way my first few hundred dives were very cold as I worked over the summer time to be able to afford diving courses and dive time in the winter .. maybe I am backwards .. but thats just the way it seemed to work.
