Hi everyone,

I am researching equipment in order to build up a dslr system and i have a question about lenses for all of you clever folks.
Lets for a second assume that topside photo doesn’t exist. I am just wondering if i really need my future 50 or 60 and my 105 being able to have f stops of 2 or 2.8?

Is it not true that using the 50/60 and especially the 105 will reduce DOF anyway?

Do i really need that low f stops to create that blurry background while shooting macro and fish?

Hopefully theese Q’s doesn’t sound too silly in your eyes, but i really hope for some help on this one,

thx

Yes you are correct, especially the 105. I use the Nikon 105vr usually stomp down the F/stop to F11-16 just to keep the subject sharp and in focus and the back ground has a very nice and soft blur. It also depends on how close you are to the subject.
