Hi all. I’m a novice underwater photographer- I bought the underwater casing years ago when I went to dive with Great White Sharks and always take a few photo’s when I’m diving but I ma never happy with them. 9 times out of 10, they seem over exposed? They all seem to have bright area’s on them, almost white and the colours are distorted! I have no idea what settings to use and don’t have a light or anything like that....I’m afraid I don’t know any of the terminology!

Thank you so much for your help- I’m a nanny and going to work in Trinidad and Tobago in 3 days, for 9 weeks and want to bring some good underwater photo’s home with me! rolleyes

I’ve attached some photo’s to help give you an idea…

Hi, it could be helpful to take a look at the EXIF-data of the pics.

Which program did you use ? Shutter speed, aperture, ISO-Rating ?

My quick advice - use Av- or Tv-Mode at ISO100 and the automatic white balance
Depending on the movement of your objects choose 1/125 for fish, the resulting aperture may
vary and depends on the lighting conditions.

If shutter speed doesn´t matter (corals, nudibranch e.g.) choose f 6-8 for aperture, if the time is
too long, just make a correction of your preselection.

Later on you may use the M-mode for good results.

Taking a good (even low-cost) program for picture editing may enhance your results afterwards.

Wish u luck & fun
Frank

btw - just erased your double post wink

Just a quick try ... (only automatic white balance in Corel Paint)
