I shoot with a Canon Digital Rebel Xti.  At the risk of sounding blasphemous, I do not save Raw files.  I use only jpgs.  I manipulate them in Photoshop 5.  I experimented with Raw images but found it to be a tremendous pain.  I am able to make the images dramatically better in Photoshop 5 (See attached before and after).  So, what am I missing?  Is there really a big enough advantage in what you can do with the RAW images to make it worth the effort???  I would hate to think I am missing out on the opportunity to significantly improve my images.  All feedback is greatly appreciated.
