Hello everybody,

I’d like to buy a Pentax Optio A20 10MP, unfortunately it doesn’t have an underwater case from Pentax. There are some plastic bag from other manufacturers but I never tried to dive with that before. Are there some limitations? (deep, risk, etc). I think as a possibility to buy an underwater case from pentax an adapt this case to the A20 but I don’t know with case from pentax fits better with A20 (O-WP1, O-WP2, O-WP3, O-WP4).

Could you help me? some suggestions?

Thanks

David

Hi David,

There are some limitation with the bags. You have to consider then the water
pressure will compress the air inside the bag and as the bags are flexible wink
that will cause that the buttons will be pressed all the time from a certain
depth. Of course you have higher risks as the bags are easier to scratch or
to break as polycarbobate or even metal ones, but for normal diving it can be
ok. Another point is that you are bound to the internal strobe. You can’t
use any extra strobes, because you can’t mount them.

I do not know enough to tell you if it would be possible to adapt one of
the pentax housings.

ciao Lars
