Hi all,
I am a big fan of this forum and regularly lurk but this is my first post.
I’m 45yrs old and have recently been able to dedicate some serious time to my favourite pastime: diving.
What makes diving particularly fun for me is that I can combine my second favourite pastime: photography.
I have been using 35mm SLR dry for years but have purchased a number of p&s;digitals for the wet stuff.
My favourite is the Oly 560UZ but I also have a S&S;1G.
Anyway, it’s time to get serious, invest in a DSLR and I am 99% sold on the Canon 40D. I will also purchase the Ikelite housing
and hook up my S&S;110 strobes via TTL.
So, my real conundrum is with lenses.
I love macro and want to get really close. REALLY close!
The attached shots from the Oly are not close enough. I want really sharp, crisp, clean shots with plenty of DOF.
Budget is between $500-$1000 but either side of that broad range is fine.
Thanks in anticipation…
...Mickus

Hey Mickus,

thanks for the comment on the forum and welcome to your first post.

The nudis look great and if you want REALLY good macro photographs I think
you would need a 100mm macro, which is in your budget. Additionally I would
think of buying a teleconverter, which can be used in combination with macro
lenses, too and which provide even more magification and DOF, but it will get
harder to shot wink

ciao Lars

hi mickus,

i think lars is right. get a 100mm with a 1,5 teleconverter ... and then you can add on a wetdiopter like the macromate or the woodys ... that is really close wink
