Does anyone have any experience with this housing?  I am a snorkeler who does fine art photography and looking for a reasonably priced underwater option for my new 5D Mark ii.
Thanks!

Hey Margie,

I do not have any experiences with the Ewa-Marine housing personally.

If you use the housing/bag only for snorkeling in safe environments I think
it do its job for a reasonable price.

What kind of photography do you plan with the ewa marine housing?
Do you just want to photograph in wet environements? Do you want to
shot underwater scenes? Does the shooting happen under rough conditions
(rough waves, starting the shot from a boat, .. )?

The ewa marine is good if you are snorkeling on a beach, want to make some
halt and half shots or you just want to have some water protection.

ciao Lars

Thanks for your comments - here is some more info:  I am a serious amateur photographer working on an underwater photo project in my pool (I live on Miami Beach).  I have been using a Sea & Sea DX-1G with its underwater housing and making graphic fine art type images.  I’ve attached a few to this posting to get an idea of the project.  The camera is not more that 4 or 5 feet underwater when I free dive in the pool.  I thought I would get much better image quality with my full frame Canon 5d mark ii, which is what prompted me to post insights and opinions on the reasonably priced EWA-marine housing.

I think you should be pretty safe with the ewa marine housing. The only problem I see is the optics.
As you are making graphic fine art images and certainly want to print these images, the plastic front
could result in “poorer” image quality..

I second that.

The front is wiggling side to side and can cause
strange optical effects. However you might get
away with it if you keep on eye on it.

The front port is suitable for makro lenses but
not for wide angle in the 10-49mm range.
