Depth rated to 40m/130 feet, the <selflink>Scuba Series HD</selflink> comes with a 2GB micro SD, which can be expanded up to 32GB, enabling you to record thousands of still images or approx. 16 hours of video. 4.7W Lights can be connected at both sides of the mask.

The Wide Angle Scuba Series HD is an integrated dive mask/camera that records HD 720P video (1280x720) at 30fps along with 5.0MP still images. It features lever style buttons which are easy to press while wearing diving gloves. To record a photo or a video, the photographer should simply turn on the camera, choose the mode and press the shutter button. LED lights inside the mask indicate the mode to the user. The buttons are positioned along the upper right corner of the frame and are easy to access. The goggle lenses are made of tempered glass and have integrated crosshairs that help you to line up shots. This new device is a perfect solution for scuba diving and may also be used for snorkeling, snuba, spearfishing, and freediving.

<selflink></selflink>
The new wide angle will solve the issue of not completely framing the subject which some first time Camera Mask users have experienced with the original 54 degree lens. The wider angle POV camera will capture a larger field of view and therefore allow the user to think even less about operating the camera while snorkeling or scuba diving. The camera operates on 4 x AAA Batteries and estimated Lithium battery performance is 2000 still images or 2hrs of video. Downloading images is as easy as plugging in the mask to your PCs or Macs USB port (RCA/USB cable provided) and pressing the power button. TV playback is also possbile through the RCA/USB cable. The included optional software (PC only) allows you to edit your content. A microSD/SDHC card slot allows you to add memory up to 16GB currently and expected to accomodate up to 32GB (when available) for additional pictures or videos. Requires four AAA batteries (included). Ages 13 and up.
Long after bike riders, racing car drivers, surfers and even snowboarders are conveniently equipped with a camera helmet, the world (or at least the Liquid Image part of it...) finally realizes that divers deserve such a high quality innovative gadget as well. Ok, so we don’t move at a speed of 100 MPH, but that doesn’t mean we’re not loaded with extremely important tasks that totally justify a hands free camera!

There’s no doubt that the Scuba Series Camera Mask is full of good news for divers, especially for those who always refrained from taking a camera underwater due to the (very heavy) commitment to carry it all through the dive. And if you’re a wreck or cave diver, this might be a wonderful opportunity for you to finally carry a camera along without having to accept the fact that you might get lost due to having only one hand free to deal with the ropes and navigation equipment.

As for the optional 4.7W lights which can be mounted on both sides of the mask, I would assume that they are pretty much essential in order to produce fine results with vivid colors (not that I have anything against blue, but there’s simply more to the spectrum!). The problem is that as a scuba diving instructor, I cannot help but recalling the first open water course, in which the importance of keeping your gear from tangling or projecting is emphasized over and over again. I’m not sure how these two lights sticking out of both sides of your head are in line with this self-protective and environmental-friendly rule, but just as with huge DSLR systems, I guess that as long as you keep in mind that you are a potential hazard to yourself and your surroundings, you are safe to everyone…

Another point you should keep in mind when making use of the Scuba Series Mask Camera is that what you see is what you get. Literally. Whatever you are staring at, is recorded on your video. In most cases, this serves as an obvious advantage, as we are usually drawn to look at interesting subjects. In some circumstances, however, you might be forced to slow down your moves and head motions for the sake of your video. Or in other words, stay calm when that tiger shark comes for a visit!

By releasing the new <selflink>DS-161 Movie Substrobe</selflink>, Ikelite proves its ability to quickly respond to new market demands. Now that new DSLR cameras are equipped with full HD video capabilities, a need for an underwater lighting device that can serve both as a strobe for stills and as a powerful LED light for videos, has arose. The new <selflink>DS-161</selflink> was especially designed to meet these requirements. Equipped with a 15-watt movie LED light, a powerful flash-tube, a short recycle time and full compatibility with Ikelite TTL systems, the <selflink>DS-161</selflink> answers almost of your underwater photography needs.

------------------------------ Official Press Release ------------------------------

The DS161 Movie Substrobe combines all of the functionality of our renowned DS160 with a powerful 500 lumen LED video light. This strobe is everything you need for stunning photos and video.

Strobe Coverage
Professional photographers all over the world prefer the wide and even coverage of our specially made circular flashtubes. The slightly warm color temperature provides rich, natural tones for beautiful macro, portraits and landscapes.

Strobe Compatibility
The DS161 Movie Substrobe is compatible with all Ikelite TTL systems and current digital cameras, as well as all older TTL film cameras including the Nikonos system. A variety of sync cords, sensors, and TTL adapters are available to connect to almost any camera system currently on the market.

Strobe Power
The DS161 recycles in a quick 1.5 sec from full discharge. When fired at a fractional power — whether in TTL or manual mode — the strobe recycles virtually instantaneously. Number of flashes per full charge will increase dramatically in most cases when using in TTL mode with a compatible camera system. The powerful DS161 is adjustable in 10 half-stop increments for precise control over your exposure when used in manual mode.

Movie Light Coverage
Three super-bright LEDs are arranged behind a special optical element to provide 45 degrees angle of coverage free of hotspots. The daylight balanced color temperature brings out true, natural colors with or without the use of a color correcting filter.

Movie Light Modes
With the strobe set to the "Batt w/Lite" position, the movie light is adjustable between 100% and 50% power in 10 fractional power settings. An "SOS" mode emits the universal signal for help in an emergency situations. With the strobe set to the "On w/Lite" position, the movie light doubles as an aiming light for focusing or night diving. The light automatically turns off and back on when the strobe fires so there is no effect on photos.

<selflink></selflink>
Movie Light Burn Time
Custom circuitry and highly efficient drivers provide 5 hours of continuous burn time on a fully charged battery with no waning effects. Continuous use of the light at full power reduces number of full power flashes by less than 15%.

Accessories
The #4061 DS161 comes standard with rechargeable NiMH battery pack and flash diffuser. The NiMH battery pack requires #4066.1 Smart Charger, not included. A variety of strobe mounts and arms are available for attachment to almost any system.

The DS161 accepts the same #4066.5 NiMH module used on the DS125 and DS160 Substrobes.
Complete strobe packages are also available in order to integrate the DS-161 in an underwater photo system.

Upgrade Opportunity
A reasonably priced upgrade to Substrobe DS160 owners is expected sometime in the first quarter of 2010. DS125 Substrobes are not able to be upgraded to DS161 specifications.

Aquatica is the first manufacturer to announce an <selflink>underwater housing</selflink> for the Nikon D300s, released to the market only a few months ago. The new housing features a variety of alternatives for strobe connectors, including fiber optic cable, Ikelite and Nikonos bulkheads. The housing shell is machined from solid aluminum and it is depth rated to 90 meters / 300 feet. The new Nikon D300s, with 12.3 mega pixels and HD video capabilities, accommodated inside this <selflink>new housing</selflink>, will certainly open a new door for many underwater photographers.

Aquatica announces its latest addition, a housing for the new Nikon D300s. In order to take full advantage of the newer underwater strobes on the market, the new housing offers a selection of alternatives for strobe connectors, including Optical Fiber, standard Nikonos sync ports and Ikelite bulkheads. Accessing TTL on the Nikon D300s is now a breeze.

<selflink></selflink>
The shell is machined from solid aluminum, treated and anodized to military specification and then painted with a robust weather and wear resistant finish. Due to its durable construction, the housing benefits from a 300 feet + depth rating, which sets Aquatica housings apart from some of their competitors.

The D300s housing features easy access to vital video function controls, while retaining its ease of operation for still imaging. It is equipped with the same mounting bayonet that accepts Aquatica's existing accessories and ports, including the Aquatica tack sharp Megadome, Aqua View Finder and Remote Control Cord.

New 45-Point Autofocus System
The new EOS-1D model is equipped with a newly developed 45-point AF sensor featuring 39 high-precision cross-type AF points, and an all new AI Servo II AF mode that gives still photographers the power and performance to track and focus a fast-moving subject at speeds up to 10 frames per second. To complete the range of AF improvements, Canon has developed a new AI Servo II AF predictive focusing algorithm that significantly improves responsiveness and stability by making better decisions on focus tracking in a variety of shooting conditions.

<selflink></selflink>
Amazing High ISO Performance
Photographers shooting in low light without the benefit of a flash can take advantage of Canon's widest ISO range and highest performance ever. The EOS-1D Mark IV camera's ISO speed settings range from 100 up to 12,800 in 1/3 or 1/2 stop increments with ISO Expansion settings of L: 50 for bright light or H1: 25,600, H2: 51,200, and H3: 102,400 for even the most dimly lit situations.

The EOS HD Video Powerhouse
Over the past year, Canon's EOS HD Video technology has changed the way users capture 1080p HD video and provides them with full manual exposure control, selectable frame rates, and interchangeable lenses on some of the largest and most sensitive image sensors on the market. The large camera sensor allows filmmakers to achieve shallow depth-of-field just as cinematographers have traditionally done using much higher-cost motion picture equipment. The Canon EOS-1D Mark IV allows for three video recording resolutions - 1080p Full HD and 720p HD in a 16:9 aspect ratio and Standard Definition (SD) in a 4:3 aspect ratio. The camera will record Full HD at 1920 x 1080 in selectable frame rates of 24p (23.976), 25p, or 30p (29.97); and 720p HD or SD video recording at either 50p or 60p (59.94). SD video can be recorded in either NTSC or PAL standards.

<selflink></selflink>
Image Quality and Performance
The heart of the EOS-1D Mark IV camera's outstanding image quality is a newly developed 16.1-Megapixel CMOS sensor featuring Canon's latest and most advanced proprietary technologies. The transmissive quality of the color filter array has been enhanced to improve sensitivity. Canon has also upgraded the sensor circuitry to improve noise reduction before the image data is exported from the CMOS sensor to the rest of the image processing chain.

With 60 percent more pixels than the EOS-1D Mark III, the EOS-1D Mark IV Digital SLR employs Dual DIGIC 4 Image Processors with approximately six times the processing power of DIGIC III for full 14-bit A/D conversion at 10 fps. High-speed continuous shooting up to 121 Large JPEGs is possible using a UDMA CF card. This camera also features three RAW shooting modes for versatility with Full RAW (approx. 16 million pixels), M-RAW (approx. nine million pixels), and S-RAW (approx. four million pixels). Three additional JPEG recording formats (M1, M2 and Small) are also available.

The 14-bit per channel conversion facilitated by the dual DIGIC 4 Processors provides smoother tonalities in final images capturing all 16,384 distinct tones in each channel (red, green and blue) at the full 10 fps frame rate. RAW images shot on the new Canon EOS-1D Mark IV use the entire 14-bit space when converted to 16-bit TIFF files. The 14-bit A/D conversion is also the foundation for Canon's Highlight Tone Priority feature that takes maximum advantage of the camera's extensive dynamic range to preserve detail in highlight areas of the image. Canon's new EOS-1D Mark IV Digital SLR also features an improved white balance algorithm making colors more accurate when shooting under low color temperature light sources such as household tungsten lamps.

<selflink></selflink>
Auto Lighting Optimizer
The EOS-1D Mark IV Digital SLR helps reduce post-production work with a powerful new Auto Lighting Optimizer (ALO) system. When enabled, Canon's ALO automatically adjusts the image for optimal brightness and contrast on the fly during in-camera image processing, reducing clipped highlights while keeping shadowed areas as clear and detailed as they actually appear. By optimizing brightness and contrast in-camera, Canon's ALO system significantly reduces the need for post-production image optimization, and gives photographers image quality they can take directly to press. Demanding professional photographers who tested ALO clearly stated that this one feature will reduce their post-production image optimization process by more than 75 percent. Canon's ALO works with both RAWi and JPEG images as well as video recording.

Rugged Reliability
Canon has taken every measure to ensure that the EOS-1D Mark IV Digital SLR camera has the highest degree of weather resistance in the EOS line. The 1D Mark IV camera incorporates a wide range of design features that enhance its durability and reliability for professional assignments. For example, the 1D Mark IV's body, chassis and lens mount are completely weather-resistant and 76 gaskets and seals surround all buttons and seams. The body covers and internal chassis, including the mirror box, are constructed with magnesium-alloy, one of the strongest and rigid metals available for its weight. For added strength, the lens mount is constructed with stainless steel.

Pricing and Availability
The Canon EOS-1D Mark IV Digital SLR camera is scheduled to be delivered to U.S. dealers in late December, and will be sold in a body-only configuration at an estimated retail price of $4,999.00.

Nikon redefines possibilities for professional DSLR photographers with the announcement of the <selflink>FX-Format D3s</selflink>. Built upon the success of the Nikon D3 - the professional digital SLR that previously set new standards for DSLR performance, the new <selflink>D3s</selflink> features a six-figure ISO sensitivity for both stills and video, as well as an enhanced overall performance. With an ISO sensitivity from 200 to 12,800, Nikon's new pro makes it possible to capture images and videos which were previously considered as impossible. Who's afraid of the dark now?
            <?php } else { ?>

------------------------------ Official Press Release ------------------------------

Nikon announced the FX-format D3S D-SLR, providing professional photographers with a powerful tool that redefines the boundaries of digital SLR versatility, while maintaining the strength of superior image quality and high speed performance inherited from the groundbreaking D3. The Nikon D3S utilizes a newly designed Nikon original 12.1-megapixel FX-format CMOS sensor that also integrates its amazing low-light ability to High Definition (HD) video, creating a uniquely capable multi-media tool to meet the needs of a changing imaging landscape.

Innovative ISO Range
The Nikon D3s, with a base ISO sensitivity from ISO 200 to 12,800, makes it possible to capture previously impossible images, image opportunities which were often ignored because of low light levels. Now, in even more demanding lighting conditions, photographers can select expanded sensitivity settings of ISO equivalent 25,600, ISO equivalent 51,200 and an incredible ISO equivalent sensitivity of 102,400 which reveals detail in extreme low-light environments that challenge even the human eye’s ability to discern subject content. In addition, a setting of ISO equivalent 100 is provided.

For underwater photographers, the significantly enhanced ISO range will affect the results especially in deep dives, cave dives and while photographing under other low light conditions, when natural light is very limited or simply unavailable. Sure, your strobe can always illuminate your subject if it is positioned a meter away from you, but what about that dolphin that just passed by in the background?!
Suddenly the integrating between aperture and shutter speed, when it comes to exposure, seems somewhat less problematic as you complacently shift your ISO up to 12,800.

<selflink></selflink>
Big Pixels Further Enhance ISO Capabilities
The amazing low-light ability of the D3S, as well as its astounding image quality can be attributed in large part to the engineering behind the newly designed, Nikon original 12.1-megapixel FX-format CMOS sensor, which measures 36x23.9mm. Individual pixels measure a large 8.45 microns, which support enhanced sensitivity to light and other qualities leading to superior image fidelity. The D3S captures light and renders images in a way that no other Nikon camera has yet to achieve, with a higher signal-to-noise ratio and an unmatched dynamic range for both stills and HD video throughout its broadened ISO range.

Image Sensor Cleaning Function
The Nikon D3S adds the extra benefit of an Image Sensor Cleaning function to reduce instances of image degradation resulting from dust accumulation on the optical low pass filter (OLPF) in front of the image sensor. The OLPF oscillates at four specific frequencies to release particles that would disrupt image quality. Sensor Cleaning can be set by the user to cycle automatically when the camera is powered on, turned off, or on demand.

D-Movie Creativity
Whether on the frontlines or sidelines, the amazing ISO range of the D3S can also be applied while recording HD video clips to give unprecedented low-light ability for movie clips. The refined D-Movie mode for the FX-format offers smooth 1280x720 video at a cinematic 24fps, with a new algorithm that severely reduces the phenomenon of “rolling shutter” typical to D-SLRs while panning. Additionally, the D3S features a built-in monaural microphone, augmented by a stereo microphone input, which is perfect for hot-shoe microphone mounting or the use of wireless microphones for interviews or spot news.

Photographers and film makers alike will appreciate the full aperture control from a wide f/1.4 to f/16, as the FX-format sensor renders low-noise movie clips with outstanding clarity, aided by the large selection of renowned NIKKOR lenses to produce a dramatic depth of field. High Sensitivity Movie Mode allows the utilization of the entire ISO range to capture otherwise hidden details in challenging lighting conditions, more effectively than cameras with smaller sensors.

<selflink></selflink>
Performance and Features Defining Versatility
The D3S features two UDMA compatible CompactFlash™ card slots that can be used for consecutive recording (overflow), simultaneous recording (backup), separating recording of RAW and JPEG files or even copying pictures between the two cards. One or both can also be designated for data-heavy D-Movie recording. Images can be displayed directly from the camera to a High Definition monitor using the camera's HDMI port and an optional cable.

The D3S features Nikon’s exclusive Multi-CAM 3500FX focus module, with 51 AF points, 15 cross type sensors and 36 horizontal sensors that easily track and lock onto moving subjects, delivering the same fast and accurate AF performance that helped make the D3 immediately successful. Users can select any of the AF points, making it easy to consistently attain accurate focus, frame after frame.

Quiet Shutter Mode
To alleviate another kind of noise, the D3S also features a Quiet Shutter Mode which substantially reduces the sound of the camera’s mirror-down cycle, which is perfect for shooting in sensitive environments, such as movie sets, meetings, ceremonies, or while photographing wildlife.

I believe underwater photographers are all familiar with the situation in which a long period of time is invested in perfectly composing an image of a delicate creature, because it is obvious that it is a one-time shot. Once the mirror goes down, the show is over and the fish is gone. In these situations, I almost start missing my point & shoot. No doubt that a Quiet Shutter Mode could spare some of these frustrating situations...

Technologies Engineered for Professionals
The D3S’ speed and performance is the culmination of many Nikon core technologies including the latest generation of the EXPEED™ Image Processing System. The latest iteration of this system is specially designed to keep pace with the D3S’ blazing performance to provide amazing image quality, faster processing speeds, lower power consumption, precise color reproduction for a broad spectrum of hues, vivid saturation and smooth gradation.

The D3S’ accelerated Scene Recognition System analyzes information from the 1,005-pixel RGB light sensor for use in auto exposure, auto white balance detection and autofocus calculations. The Scene Recognition System also assists autofocus by tracking subject position and automatically shifts the AF points used to match the subject’s movement within the frame.

I guess that no matter how experienced and professional an underwater photographer is, the fact that the camera is accommodated inside a housing always makes it more difficult to manually control all parameters at the same time. Trying to manually focus with the lens port while shifting the aperture just to find out that you should white balance your image again, is usually quite challenging, and by the time you have finally completed your settings, your fish is probably swimming in a different ocean. This is what makes the sophisticated auto settings of the D3s so attractive for underwater photographers, even if you only choose to use a small portion of them.

Price and Availability
The Nikon D3S digital SLR is scheduled to be available at Nikon Authorized dealers beginning in late November 2009 at an estimated selling price of $5,199.95.

Basically, it seems that you can never go wrong with this camera. Failed to calculate the accurate aperture and shutter speed values when trying to set a proper exposure? Not a big deal, simply shift your ISO to a value that was previously considered as imaginary. Thought you were taking a rare image of a tiger shark as you suddenly found out you are in the video mode? No problem! extract yourself a fine high res image from the mistaken video and keep the secret to yourself. Feeling too lazy today in order to manually set your white balance? It's your lucky day! We have just designed the perfect algorithm for this!
At some point it makes you think- if this camera was designed for highly experienced and professional photographers, how come it is SO GOOD in making your life SO EASY...

Goliath Groupers, which were listed until 2006 as a critically endangered species by the World Conservation Union (IUCN), may soon lose their protection from fishing due to recovering population levels and pressure exerted by fisherman. Divers have long enjoyed the company of these huge, friendly fish, and if fishing Goliath Groupers becomes legal once again, population levels may fall quickly. You can <selflink>help us</selflink> to keep Goliath Groupers in the list of protected species by signing a petition! <selflink>Read more...</selflink>

Goliath Grouper have been inhabitants of Florida's reefs for millions of years and serve a vital role in the healthy functioning of the reefs. They have been listed as a critically endangered species by the World Conservation Union (IUCN), and have been protected from fishing in the United States since 1990, and in the Caribbean since 1993.

Many of us are divers and have witnessed the large congregations of these amazing creatures from August to October in Palm Beach County, where they travel perhaps hundreds of miles to congregate in groups of 50 to 75 for breeding purposes. It is incredibly sad that a group of 50-75 individuals constitutes a large aggregation, but such is the state of our oceans today.

We have witnessed the curious nature of these massive creatures and watched them roll on their sides to have their bellies scratched by a diver. Fisherman and spear-fisherman wish to hunt them for sport, but we cannot see the sport in shooting an animal that willfully approaches divers.

We are extremely opposed to the removal of protected status from these gentle giants.

Two New Flash Memory HD Legria Camcorders

Both LEGRIA HF21 and HF S11 models offer a range of improvements over previous models, including an advanced Dynamic Optical Image Stabiliser (OIS) system, an enhanced Video Snapshot mode and new low-light shooting capabilities. Both products capture to high capacity Flash memory, the most reliable method for recording. Flash memory based recording is faster, lighter and consumes less power than Hard-Disk drive based camcorders. In addition, new accessories in the range offer extended shooting flexibility – expanding the camcorders’ capabilities and giving users the freedom to capture stunning HD video in any environment, even underwater with the WP-V1 waterproof case.

LEGRIA HF S11: The Ultimate HD Camcorder for Video Enthusiasts
The new flagship in the range which includes the TIPA award-winning LEGRIA HF S10, the LEGRIA HF S11 HD camcorder combines pro-level features and functionality with Canon’s best ever HD camera system. The camcorder includes Dual Flash Memory recording, which lets users capture footage on the internal memory and on removable SDHC flash memory cards. At 64GB, the HF S11 features the greatest amount of internal memory available in any current camcorder, enabling users to capture over 24 hours of video (LP mode).

To help users achieve the best video quality video, the LEGRIA HF S11 features Canon’s new Dynamic OIS, a feature that virtually eliminates camera-shake while filming wider shots like landscapes, seascapes and more. The LEGRIA HF S11 delivers superb quality high-definition recordings thanks to its Canon HD camera system: a genuine Canon HD Video Lens (with 10x optical zoom), an 8 Megapixel CMOS sensor and a DIGIC DV III image processor. The HD camera system delivers 1920x1080 Full HD video recordings at 24Mbps and up to 8.0MP still photos. The option to use 25p progressive capture for making movies delivers a film-like quality and further improves low-light sensitivity. Perfect for users with a passion for videography, the LEGRIA HF S11 offers a full range of shooting controls. These enable manual adjustment of focus, exposure and audio levels using the camcorder’s built in control dial. In addition, the HF S11 includes Auto Gain Control limits – allowing users to fine-tune the camcorder’s gain in low-light – so the optimum balance between the low light detail and the darkness of night can be found.

LEGRIA HF21: A User-Friendly HD Camcorder
Joining the LEGRIA range - as the new flagship HD camcorderforfamilies - is the new
LEGRIA HF21, boasting 64GB internal flash memory in a pocket-sized and super stylish
design.

Canon's Video Snapshot mode
allows four-second clips to be captured with a single press ofthe record button, then
easily arranged into a movie and set to music on the camera - the perfect way to put
together films without needing to edit on a PC. Like the HF S11, the HF21 also features Canon's new Dynamic OIS for shake free
footage when filming on the move - whether walking, jogging or climbing. For shooting in low light conditions - such as at parties or evening events - Canon has
introduced two new scene modes. Night mode automatically reduces light levels so
users can faithfully reproduce the darkness of night, whereas Low Light mode makes it
easier to capture every detail even in fading light.

Underwater Capabilities
The specially designed WP-V1 waterproof case has a class-leading watertight-depth of 40m, making
it ideal for scuba-diving, snorkelling or other water-based activities. The WP-V1 case can
also be used with the current LEGRIA HF20 and HF200 models. All HF series camcorders offer an underwater shooting mode that enables the camcorder to take
natural looking footage at depth when used with the underwater case. When used in
this mode the camcorder's white balance is automatically adjusted to produce more
natural-looking colours. The camcorder can then be switched back to Surface mode for
seaside or poolside activity.

Availability
Both new camcorders will be available from September 2009.

During the Visions of the Sea 2009 festival, held in Manchester, England on November 7th and 8th, a fantastic line-up of presentations will be carried out, as well as in-water tuitions, an international competition, an exhibition and a gala dinner. The whole event is in aid of the Shark Trust and is being hosted by Frogfish Photographyand Ocean Optics.

Presentations and Classes
Presentations will be carried out during the two days of the event by internationally renowned underwater photographers, such as: Cathy Church, Paul “Duxy” Duxfield, Martin Edge, Charlie Hood, Maria Munn, Alex Mustard, Jukka Nurminen, Tom Peschak, Peter Scoones and Steve Warren. On Sunday afternoon, delegates will have the opportunity to participate in some in-water tuitions in the Manchester Aquatics Centre held by some of these experts. The 5 meters deep pool will be transformed into an underwater world with reefs, a wreck, marine life of all sorts and model divers in order to enable the participants to practice their newly learnt photographic skills.

Charity
On Friday, November 6th, the Shark Trust team (along with the Frogfish and Ocean Optics teams) will be visiting a school and inviting children from other schools
in the area to join in on an education day. This will grant local children the opportunity to learn more about sharks and to take part in art projects, discussions and workshops throughout the day.

The Visions Gala Dinner
On Saturday evening, the Visions Gala Dinner will take place in aid of the Shark Trust. This will coincide with the 5th anniversary of Orca Divers, who have organized an auction of prints from some of the world’s best underwater photographers, followed by an after dinner lecture and live music.

Exhibition and International Competition
The event will host a free exhibition open to the public with stands by Ocean Optics, Frogfish Photography, BSOUP, NUPG, Shark Trust, the event
sponsors and guest speakers. The finalists from the Visions in the Sea International Underwater Photography Competition will be introduced as well. The total value of prizes exceeds £9000 and the judges of the competition will be the guest speakers over the festival weekend. The Best in Show will win a Worldwide Dive and Sail live-aboard trip. Other classes include Suunto British Open and Mares Young Photographer of the Year. Additional prizes will be offered as well by Apeks, Beaver, Blandford, Sub-Aqua, Inon, Lumb Brothers, O’Neill, Sea&Sea, Sport Diver and Typhoon.

The festival is being sponsored by Cameras Underwater, Cayman Islands, Department of Tourism, Dive Quest and Emperor Divers. Their support has enabled Visions in the Sea to offer all divers and underwater photographers the chance to improve their underwater photography skills, participate in educational presentations, attend a wonderful visual feast and take part in an event that raises money for an important charity, as well raises the awareness to the underwater environment.
